An antique dollhouse welcomes a troubled family to a celebration of death. A party girl’s addiction gives birth to a monster within. Man’s best friend must fend off a woman’s greatest nightmare…
Scare Street is proud to present eleven chilling tales of the supernatural, in one monstrous volume. Horror authors Ron Ripley, David Longhorn, Sara Clancy, and many more unite to bring you a terrifying collection of short stories, each one guaranteed to haunt your dreams. And each one more chilling than the last.
Once you start reading you won’t be able to stop. Because when these authors sink their teeth into you, it’s already too late.
The only way to escape from these nightmares… is to wake up screaming.
An awesome collection of the eerie and frightening! 🫣 Favourited stories include: •Cafeville By A. I. Nasser •The Mort-Safe By David Longhorn •Get In By Julia Grace & •Blutinsel (Blood Island) By Ron Ripley
There are some great stories in this collection. You get a mixture of just about everything. My favorite story is the last one about a voodoo queen.
Ron Ridley, David Longhorn and Sara Clancy contribute to most of these stories. They are the horrific writers I’m most familiar with, in the Scare Street series of books and they don’t disappoint.
Most of these stories were amazing and suck you in and keep you reading.
There were a handful of stories like 'Wild Child' and 'Cafeville' that were really fun until the end. I felt the endings in these two stories in particular, were left hanging in a way that felt unfinished. Not the good cliffhanger ending either but more like "well that was unsatisfying..." sort of way because there were still details that I wanted to know about.
All in all, other than about 3-4 stories not having the greatest of endings, this was a great collection of short stories to read in the dark, and feel the chills.
This is a collection of stories that give the reader a glimpse into the darkened recesses of our world - places that may look and sound appealing but hide unspeakable horrors. There are things that go bump in the night, and the daylight. Things that haunt our dreams and lurk in the shadows, just waiting for the chance to strike. This collection is written by some of the best talent that Scare Street has to offer. I can't say if Scare Street has cornered the horror genre but they have most certainly staked a claim to a prime spot. I am anxious to read more from these authors.
I love the story lines, some long, some short. It's a great mixture of scary right off the bat and wait a little while before it gets scary. I listened to this on audible and it was narrated very well. It was a great listen to in between working on class homework and studying. it took me several days to get through it because some days are longer but I would highly recommend reading it or listening to it and be prepared to get some chills down your spine!
I guess I just don't scare Easy. A couple of the stories kinda have me the creeps, but a couple of the stories were just humorous (in my opinion). If you like shorts, this might be the book for you. Short stories just always leave me wanting more. I got this book from a librarything early review giveaway.
A collection of short stories all with a chilling or scary theme.
I found these short stories fun to read, I wouldn't say they were particularly scary but they had some chilling moments in them especially the Walk which I did find quite creepy. A couple of them could have been scarier with more detail but on the whole a good collection.
You will sleep with the lights on after reading this book!! It will scare the sleep out of you! Chills and thrills galore!! Werewolves, vampires, ghosties, goulies, long-legged beasties and things that go bump in the night are all here. If you have a weak heart don't read this alone!! Highly recommended.
Some I found amusing. Love this series, on to the next.
I liked the last story. I felt sorry for the husband, he wanted to run. I felt like the shop owner was messing with them. He said do not remove anything, and he didn't, but someone or something put a soldier in his backpack and then it got real. Worth a credit!
Will I find a 5-Star read in this series? I sure hope so, however, I am having so much fun reading these short stories, even if I had to wade through some duds in volume 1. I made the right choice in continuing, as I enjoyed every single story in Vol 2 with the standouts being Wild Child and Whispered Names.
This was quite a treat, best read in the twilight hours for full effect. I enjoyed it so much, I have already download the next book in the series. These books are stand alone. They can be read in any order. For horror lovers who like to say "I told you so".
Yeah, Scare Streetyou have done it again. You have 11 short stories with well described plots with believable and interesting characters. Thom Bowers is always an added thrill to audio books. Thom has a way of maintaining your interest. I recommend this book.
There was not one story that I disliked. These were all well written and cool stories. Even the ones that were a bit predictable were thoroughly enjoyable. Really enjoy the Scare Street anthologies.
This is a collection of 11 short horror stories by different authors. They are all very good and in the same length size perfect for short readings. The narration is also very good as in the first book of this collection, with every character having their own distinct voice.
Oh I so love it when Scare street does a collaboration of shorts. I've thoroughly enjoyed them all and this one adds to the list! A couple new names that did a very good job!
I loved these short stories. They are all pretty good. Some were more scary then the others, but I enjoyed them all. I look forward to reading number 3.
I was lucky enough to have gotten a free audio book code from Scare street. I am volunteering to leave this review. Awesome bunch of short stories that are great for your commute.
These stories are just the perfect touch of horror and crazy to keep you on your toes. The Scare Street team has done it again! I can't wait to see what the next volumes hold!
