The Surprise Date Challenge: Be the Happiest Couple You Know

Rate this book
Are you missing the butterflies and giddiness you felt when you first started dating? We know for a fact that the relationship fairy tale is alive, well and available to you now through the Surprise Date Challenge. World renown psychologist Esther Perel reminds us, "Love is a vessel that contains both security and adventure, and commitment offers one of the great luxuries of time. Marriage is not the end of romance, it is the beginning." Couples never go into a romantic relationship believing they will succumb to becoming a divorce statistic. Regardless of the reasons, we know that 1/2 of relationships end that result in pain and despair affecting not just the individuals, but children, family members, friends and colleagues. The Surprise Date Challenge provides couples just starting out, newlyweds, or those that have been together for many years with the love recipe to foster a long-term relationship by adding novelty through planning monthly surprise dates for each other. The secret elixir is not anything magical, but simply planning one surprise date monthly that significantly makes deposits into your Love Bank Account to offset any of the relationship challenges that we all inevitably face. The Surprise Date Challenge provides a year of surprise dates that add mystery and adventure that not only don't cost a lot of money but can be completed at home. Best of all, we know from experience the surprise dates will add passion and romance while increasing communication and connection. As Tony Robbins points out, "Do what your did in the beginning of a relationship and there won't be an end."

I'm glad I got this book from KU rather than purchasing it, because I was pretty disappointed. This is really, really basic stuff. Make a vision board together, go hiking and for a picnic, take dancing lessons. Yes, the concept is great, we definitely need to go on more dates. Yet, if you're looking for some really creative ideas, this book probably isn't going to fit the bill. I was looking for lots of creative, fun ideas, and this one has only 12, one for each month. There might be some things to spark creativity in some couples, but for most it's not going to be enough.

I love the author's creative approach to redefine the date, letting readers know that it is never too late to have fun! We all want spice and romance in our relationship but how many of us actually get creative on the date? The book is a short read with images and fun descriptions. Dana and Marty are wonderful entrepreneurs who are up to amazing things! - Alice, alicehlidkova.com

Full of great date ideas and reminders to keep the spark alive. Big Hit when given as a wedding gift or bridal shower gift when combined with a gift certificate for a year of date ideas found on their website.

Good ideas

This book was a quick read and had some good ideas! However some of the ideas where unrealistic to me and that why I couldn't give it a higher review! It's a good basic book to get ideas on how to keep a spark in your marriage, we all need ideas from time to time!
