The caste question has been a point of debate since long for the Communist movement of India. There is a lengthy debate on the caste question between Ambedkarism and Marxism. There are also some streams which talk of convergence between Marxism and Ambedkarism. The moot question what is the radical project that Ambedkar presents for the solution of caste question or the annihilation of caste? There has been a lot of writing and study on this question from a Marxist viewpoint in recent times. Ranganayakamma has already published a book on the Marxist view regarding Ambedkar's thoughts on the caste question and a thought-provoking debate on the book still continues. Dalit intellectuals have often accused Marxism of ignoring the caste question or being limited to a class reductionist analysis and being unable to understand Ambedkar's view or not giving it the due respect. Ranganayakamma has been refuting these accusations for a long time. She has been answering the questions raised, giving a Marxist analysis of the caste question and presenting a sharp critique of Ambedkar's thoughts. Her book 'For the solution of the 'Caste' question, Buddha is not enough, Ambedkar is not enough either, Marx is a must' triggered a widespread debate after its publication in Telugu and English. Rahul Foundation has published it in Hindi in 2008 and it has been in the centre of debate since then. Various accusations were made against her by Dalit intellectuals after the publication of this book. Ranganayakamma has given point wise logical answers to each of these accusations. Most of the articles in this collection are polemical articles written in response to the questions and accusations against the Marxist analysis of caste question and Ranganayakamma's writings. We believe that the readers will also welcome this book by Ranganayakamma on a big scale and this book will be helpful in taking the debate to a meaningful and concrete conclusion.

Note: Before marriage, RN used her maiden surname ‘Daddanaala Ranganayakamma’ in her works, and after the marriage, she adopted the surname ‘Muppala’ as was the convention. After the separation, she stopped using the adopted surname and began to write without any surname: simply as ‘Ranganayakamma’

రంగనాయకమ్మ సుప్రసిద్ధ మార్కిస్టు, స్త్రీవాద రచయిత్రి. ఈమె రచనల్లో రామాయణాన్ని మార్క్సిస్టు దృక్పధంతో విమర్శిస్తూ రాసిన రామాయణ విషవృక్షం ఒకటి. స్త్రీవాద రచయిత కావడం వల్ల 'పురుష వ్యతిరేకి'గానూ, రామాయణ విషవృక్షం రాయడం వల్ల 'బ్రాహ్మణ వ్యతిరేకి' గానూ ఈమెకి పేరు.

రంగనాయకమ్మ, పశ్చిమ గోదావరి జిల్లా బొమ్మిడి గ్రామములో 1939లో జన్మించారు. ఈమె తాడేపల్లిగూడెంలో ఉన్నత పాఠశాలలో చదివి 1955లో ఎస్.ఎస్.ఎల్.సీ ఉత్తీర్ణురాలయ్యారు. ఈమె తల్లితండ్రులు ఉన్నత చదువులకొరకు దూరప్రాంతములోని కళాశాలకు పంపించి చదివించలేని కారణముగా ఈమె విద్యాభ్యాసము అంతటితో ఆగిపోయింది.

రంగనాయకమ్మ 1958లో సాంప్రదాయకముగా పెద్దలు కుదిర్చిన పెళ్లి చేసుకొన్నారు. కానీ విరుద్ధ భావాలతో కొనసాగలేక 1970లో ఆ వివాహము నుండి బయటపడ్డారు. అప్పటి నుండి తన కంటే వయసులో పది సంవత్సరాలు చిన్నవాడు, తన అభిమాని, పాఠకుడు అయిన బీ.ఆర్.బాపూజీ (అలియాస్ గాంధీ) తో కలసి నివసిస్తున్నారు.

తన మొదటి రచనల్లో తండ్రి ఇంటి పేరుతో 'దద్దనాల' రంగనాయకమ్మగా పాఠకులకి పరిచయం. 1958 నుంచి 1970 మధ్య కాలంలో 'ముప్పాళ' రంగనాయకమ్మగా పరిచయం. మొదటి వివాహం నుంచీ బయటపడిన తరువాత తన పేరు నుంచీ 'ముప్పాళ' తీసేసి కేవలం 'రంగనాయకమ్మ'గా పరిచయం.
