Hotter than Hell

Rate this book
It's HELL being the CEO of, well, Hell.

You know how you think things couldn't get any worse and the universe responds with "Here, hold my beer!" That's my life right now.

Being betrayed by my dad, God, is one thing, but my fire demon boyfriend being in on it makes the sting that much worse. Rather than unleashing my wrath on their sorry hides I'm doing the mature thing. I'm taking a little vacation from my life. Okay, fine. I'm in hiding. Only dear old mom, Lilith, is on a vengeance warpath and nobody is safe.

Now I'm forced to do what I do best. Save the world. I guess sipping cocktails, reading a good book and not dealing with the mess my life has become will have to wait.

I'm Lucifer, Lucy to my friends, and I'm the CEO of Hell.

Wow what a roller coaster ride this book is, there are twists and turns everywhere, even right up to the last page there is suspense happening in this book. Jane is a great writer and you never know which way she is going to spin her books. Lucifer is amazing woman and what a spin on Hell this series has. It is entertaining and not what you would think. Start from the first book and read through I promise you wont be disappointed!!

Hotter Than Hell is the third book in the Hell's Gate series. This should not be read as a standalone or you will have a difficult time understanding this storyline. There is violence and sex so 18+. I enjoyed this installment of the series as it brings together and explains so many unanswered questions from the first couple of books.

It's HELL being the CEO of, well, Hell.

Lucifer is in hiding. Needing time to think and regroup, Lucy takes off to gain some insight on her ever-changing, unraveling life.

Being betrayed by God, her father, and her fated mate, Levi, Lucy is torn between her desire to forgive and forget and her overwhelming sense to unleash wrath on their sorry hides.

In the meantime, her mother, Lilith, is on a vengeance warpath, and nobody is safe.

Forced out of hiding to protect those she loves, Lucy must face her demons head-on. And the only way she can do so is to team up with Levi. But can she trust her destined mate to repair the pain of her past for a future together?

Lucifer returns in another heart-pounding installment of the Hell’s Gate series.

Hell’s Gate:
Straight to Hell #1 - A pretty good twist on Lucifer and Lucifer's story, I like it. Jane wrote another good, fast paced, action packed, intriguing story. Her characters are fun and believable regardless of where they originate. The twisting plot keeps the reader glued to the pages until the end . . . where we get perturbed to find a cliffhanger.

Yes, a miserable cliffhanger! The other thing that bothers me about this fab read is Lucy is easily distracted at the wrong times. I find this out of character for Lucy, with all she's accomplished, and rather unbelievable; like she's a ditz. No, she's not human, so she doesn't have that excuse. I understand the power of sexual attraction, but can't believe her knickers would be choking her brain. It's still a fun and entertaining story. Worth reading, just wish the rest of the story was there. 5*

The Devil Inside #2 - Wow, it finally happened; I was disappointed by a Jane Hinchey book. The first book was great, I loved it! This one not so much. I didn’t care for the actions of Lucy and her brothers – although I disagree with the portrayal of God and the angels, I can accept this is just a fantasy. Lucy isn’t as on the ball as she was in the first book and the story left me disappointed. It’s action-packed and intriguing, but the angel brothers fighting with their sister and using vulgar language bothered me. I’m tired of seeing angels acting like trashy humans. I even think Lucy should be better than portrayed in this book; after all, she’s an angel in charge of Hell. But the story is well written and intriguing.

And I dislike this is a cliffhanger, again, and hope the next book will return my satisfaction level back to where the first book placed me. Has an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a book is about before I read it. I read some of the reviews and agree with Bev H’s review. I contacted Ms. Hinchey to review her books many, many of her books ago. 3*

Hotter Than Hell #3 - The best of the three, with the first running a close second. Well written (most of the story); action packed; fast paced; intriguing; suspense filled; and an adorable furball. The characters are interesting and dramatic; the storylines keep the reader immersed in the pages; and some of new characters are vividly described, rather cool. Ms. Hinchey does an excellent job with her vivid, exciting descriptions. There's a fight scene where Lucy forgets she's in a battle to guard the Gates of Hell; so silly.

I am disappointed that God was portrayed as "a whiny little b ...", (Kindle Location 1112). I know this is supposed to be about kick*** dames, but why does a man (or men) always have to be the loser(s)? Aren't today's women supposed to be against prejudice of all kinds? Certain readers will need take this book as entertainment and not recognize this book's "God" as the God Almighty. It's disrespectful otherwise, but there are other books to read if this review angers someone. When I started this series, I wasn't expecting this characterization. I contacted the author to review her books. 4*

A little disappointed

I really enjoyed the first two books in the series but this third book left me feeling disappointed. I felt like there were a lot of pieces missing from it and a lot of holes in the story and it just didn't feel as well put together as the other books

This is a bumpy rollercoaster of emotion. You cry 😭 and your heart breaks 💔 for Lucy. She needs to believe again. Whom can she truly trust. Who has a knife with her name on it? Deceived and lied to does she overcome?

This series has been wonderful, and this book was fast paced conclusion to the story. I was not ready for it to end, and although I did enjoy the book I feel like there is still things that got left unsolved/missing parts. That said it was still a great read and wish the series was not ending.

HOTTER THAN HELL : (Book # 3 Hell's Gate Series) : J.A. Hinchey.

Seriously If Hell Is This Much Fun, Sign Me Up, Open Up The Gates & Let Me In!

GOD, LILITH, GODDESSES GALORE, WAR OF ANGELS vs DEMONS + DRAGON WAR (AND THE DEMONS ARE THE GOOD GUY'S), AND ONE MIGHTY PI@#ED OFF LUCIFER WHO'S FLIPPED HER SWITCH AND ON A RAMPAGE!!!

The chances of me going 'STRAIGHT TO HELL', I thought, were pretty slim...Till Author Extraordinaire J.A. Hinchey aka 'THE DEVIL INSIDE' comes along with this series and I'm knock, knock, knocking on 'HELL'S GATES', let the damned Hell in. And Hell might be hot, but the love between Levi and Lucy is 'HOTTER THAN HELL!!!

Another extraordinary book in my All-Time favourite J.A. Hinchey Series!
Brilliant and realistic characters who are lovable, likeable and of course there's those you love to hate, the character interactions are phenomenal, what truly makes this story off the charts!
The world building is literally Out of This World, (some of her best) the storylines are so uniquely original, honestly I've never read anything like it and I'm not talking about Lucifer being a woman, that's just the tip of her pitchfork or tail
The story is comparable to a volcanic eruption with drama and excitement at its peak, never knowing when it will erupt again with hot fast flowing lava being the fast-paced action moving well from one scene to the next that practically turns the pages itself!

The only slight disappointment with the story was more about me than the book.
Was a bit of a shocker too, I worked out the biggest twist in the story, quite early.
I'm not sure why, there was no real hints at that stage, well not until later in the book, but they weren't out right hints either. So while I was disappointed, I was proud I worked it out, at the same time. I'm back baby! 3 out of 3 books in a row I've done this, but only 1 of Jane's!
Was the book a little predictable in regards to the big twist? Absolutely Not, but a tad with Lucy & Levi's Relationship, but in saying that I loved the extra twist to the very end of their relationship.

Hands down the best rendition of a Heaven / Hell /Earth, God / Lucifer Angel / Demon story Ever Told.
I friggin Loved Loved Loved It, but the biggest disappointed, it's the end of the series, I'd love to see it extended by another book, 3 or more even if it involved a new generation or character the originals!

I RATE HOTTER THAN HELL
5⭐ OUT OF 5⭐

I Definitely Recommend This Read,
Actually I Recommend The Whole Series!

I recieved an ARC Copy of this book from the author and this is my fair, honest and impartial review as always.

Things aren’t going well for Lucy, aka Lucifer, the CEO of Hell. Her nearly perfect life has been turned on its ear. Driving the disruption is her mother, Lilith, who is doing everything in her power to ruin her ex, G-d, and everything he’s created. The things that have happened have driven Lucy into heavy grief, but she knows she needs to stop her mother and her brothers. She, with the help of her friend Dacian and her psychic, fire-demon mate, Levi, she’s doing everything in her power to prevent as much damage as possible. It isn’t pretty, but it is incredibly interesting.

While I enjoyed this book the third in the Hell’s Gate series, I didn’t like it as much as I did the first two in the series. At times, I felt the characters were . . . well . . . out of character and overreacting to things. I still enjoyed the story, just not as much as the earlier books.

The writing of this book is quite good, and the action moves along as a lively pace, keeping then reader involved and eager for what comes next. J.A. Hinchey’s books never let you down. They always leave you wanting more, and that’s the case with this one. I’d love to see what happens with Lucy and Levi, and see if Lucy finds a new assistant to help her run Hell.

Warning to those with sensitivities: This book contains crude language, sex, torture, and violence. It’s all handled well, as those things go, but they are a fundamental part of the book.

While this wasn’t my favorite in the series, I can still recommend it. I also recommend reading this series in order. It’s important so that you understand the progression of the plot and the characters.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author. While I appreciate her generosity, it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.

Lucifer (Lucy, as she likes to be called), is hiding in her friend's cottage on Earth, vowing not to use her magic and licking her wounds. She was betrayed by all who were supposed to love her, her bonded boyfriend, her father, her brothers and her mother when while walking on the beach, she comes upon a group of teenage boys torturing a little kitten. Out come her wings as she swoops down and scoops up the kitten before they dropped into a fire pit. She scares the boys off after marking them for hell when they die and hurries back to help the kitten. But this move costs her as Dacien and Levi her boyfriend land on the beach and find Lucy. It seems Lucy's mother is out to destroy Earth and a great tsunami is coming toward them which will wash away the whole town and her friends. Consenting to use her magic together with Levi's help and Dacien's magic they stop the tsunami from coming. Now she knows, she has to go back and stop the destruction of Earth, Hell and Heaven that her mother is so set on doing. And so the adventure begins. Will her all powerful mother win out? Will her mother take her own daughter out? Will her father, GOD come to himself and help in the fight? What position will her brother's take? This roller coaster ride keeps you going round and round until the very end. Lots of action, lots of surprises and now you can't wait for book 4! I received and ARC from the author but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

I loved this story!!! So much going on as far as sass and fun goes!
The plot and story line are so well written and had me hooked from the start.
You have great world building to add that extra depth to the story.
The characters have been fleshed out well and the continuation of this series is just sublime.
This time around we have a few twists and turns that I didn't see coming at all.
I just can't wait to read the next one as I really don't know what the author is bringing us next!!
Recommend reading highly!!!

Betrayal, love, conflict, friendship and a family from Heaven that feel like they're really from Hell

Jane's latest book in the Hell's Gate series is a wild ride. Lucy is still reeling from the events at the end of The Devil Inside, hurting and angry and acting out. And then things really take a turn for the worse. Family and friends aren't always what they seem and Lucy certainly has a hard time in this book.
I love the characters Jane has created in this series and was very happy that we reconnect with some characters from one of Jane's previous books, Secret Fates, in this one. The story was action-packed, frenetic and emotional, with some humorous moments (a fantastic nod to the seventies made me laugh out loud) and a few cute pets. I loved the whole thing, from first word to last, and look forward to seeing more of Lucy and company, hopefully.
This book can be read without reading the first two in the series but it would be a shame to miss out so I suggest you read Straight To Hell and The Devil Inside first. You won't be disappointed and will enjoy this book even more.

I got hooked reading Straight to Hell, and The Devil Inside left me itching for this third book, which did not disappoint! Although it's been a while since I read the first two books, I may need to go back and reread them after finishing this one. There's one part that I recognized as being from another of her books, and I'm so glad I caught that little nod - it made the book that more fun to read. It will fly by quick, but that's not without a lot of action taking place. There was one character I had some suspicions about that I liked from the first two books, so I was gutted when I realized my suspicions were right. Jane Hinchey can really play into those emotions, and to me it doesn't feel forced. I enjoyed the ending, I felt like it wrapped up, but I can't help but wonder if this is the last Hell's Gate book, and will it be the last of Lucy that we see. I received and advanced copy of the book and am volunteering to review.

One thing I know that I will always get with this author is a fast-paced, fun, great book, and this book did not disappoint. Lucy is still grieving from an event in the previous book, and she has settled by the keys to keep hidden from everyone. However, events soon intrude and she has no choice but to go back to Hell to face her greatest challenger ever: her mother. I can’t say enough good things about this book, and if you have read the first two, you will love this one. I think this is probably the last one, but I’m not certain. I, for one, would really miss Lucy as she’s a great sassy character, and I love her relationship with Levi. So, more, please! If you like fast-paced, light urban fantasy, give this book and series a try. Highly recommend! I was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.

I enjoyed book 3 of the series. Lucy is still snarky, even though she is in pain from her loss and Levi's betrayal. Hiding out on earth and raising, well, hell is a great distraction from her pain. Unfortunately she has a job and is going to have to face everyone eventually. When mommy dearest goes on the attack it is time to go kick some butt. She might be mad at Levi, but she misses him and Dacian and knows it is time to face them.

Lucy's mother has gone off the deep end and taken Lucy's brothers with her, no surprise there. Lucy will have to battle them all, along with some nasty recruits from other realms in order to save Earth, Heaven, Hell, and her friends. When her mother brings charges against her father for neglect, things get interesting.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
