It's time for Trysten to pick up the pieces and move the village forward after the battle for Aerona. Since then, not a single Western dragon has been seen in the skies, and the fighting appears to be at a lull. But when Prince Aymon returns from the mother city with 80 dragons dressed for battle and plans to teach the Western kingdom a lesson, it appears that the fighting season is about to heat up again.
After Aymon invades the Western kingdom with his armada of dragons, Trysten races to unravel the mysteries of the fighting season with the hopes of bringing the war to an end before Aymon can rekindle it. With the help of new and rediscovered friends, Trysten uncovers the unbelievable reason the two kingdoms are at war. But knowing why they fight may not be enough to stop the destruction.

For Aerona 💖
I’m going to keep this review vague to avoid spoilers, but I want to be completely honest. I adore this series. As a 36-year-old mom of a big blended family, I don’t always connect with the newer trend of “spice-heavy” books. For me, it can feel repetitive and take away from the actual story. That’s why I appreciate this series so much, it’s engaging, heartfelt, and full of genuine characters, all without a single page of spice (at least so far).
The bond Trysten has with the dragons is beautiful to read, and there’s one moment with Adalina’s book that really hit me—it gave me chills. I also have to say, little Yallit is the perfect addition to the story. 🥰
I gave this book a full 5 ⭐ because it completely won me over. I’m so invested that even though the series is free on KU, I went ahead and bought every book, I just need to own them, not borrowed from a library. I can’t wait to dive into the next installment!

Ugh. Well that was decidedly annoying. Certain ridiculous aspects are getting to be overwhelmingly ridiculous now. Because the best place to have a problem with breaking into a person's room is in the stairwell outside the room. And other bright points of idiocy. The utter obviousness of what's about to happen because MC just has to be an idiot is grating, and the constant stupid levels of injury is just that. Stupid. Funny how a single swipe of the sword she carries can kill a dragon when convenient though.
Hopefully the next book won't go off into the ridiculous, because that would kill any continued interest in this story.

I think maybe I should have taken a break from the series before this book. This repeats a lot. It goes over the last book, the war. I am tired of reading her going on and on about the "field of ash and graves." Also tired of her 'right hand goes to the pendant." Yes I understand warriors, and the hordesmen hands reach and touch the hilt of a sword, or knives. But daggum the pendant phrase was repeated 41 times. 🙄
Our main character is grumpy in this book. I am waiting to see what happens with Yallit. I want her to bond with him, but if nothing else at least be nice to him. She made the comment "We don't kick Dragons around here. But she shoos him with her foot and imagines others doing it as well. Such disrespect for a little Dragon trying to help you, protect you. Hell she's nicer to Rodden who attacked and killed her people. Come on Authors.
I'm thinking a three, it was ok.
I didn't care for her treatment of Elevera, always making her stand in that pond. Then telling her "you'll get over it" She is an Alpha. Trysten should treat her as such.
I didn't care for her treatment of Yallit.
So yes a person we care for must be recovered. But🤔 I believe I will take a break.

Dragoneer Book 4: Outposts
I honestly have no idea how these two author keep outdoing themselves — but they do it every time! Now Kayla has been captured by the Originals, and the tension is absolutely electric. Prince Aymon returns, only to find no life on the other side of the pass.
The characters feel more real than ever, and the story keeps raising the stakes. I’m so emotionally invested that I couldn’t wait — I dove straight into Book 5 to find out what happened to the king’s dragons that went through the pass.
If you love dragons, political intrigue, and characters you can truly root for, this series just keeps getting better and better.

I would just like to write a few lines to ask you to read this book. I normally
don't like writing reviews, because I mostly talk about problems in books, (not
that all of them are bad, but I always think they could do things differently).
Yes, this one has a few problems, but I was so surprised by the quality of
the book, the plot is fantastic, a female hero struggling to get what she believes in, just cool.
I'll add the same review to all six books in the series if I like them as much as I loved this one.

Best last line I’ve read in ages.
Usually, it’s the first line in a book that sets a tone, but I just read the last line and heard it reverberate through history. Wow. Well done, Knestauts.
These book sees Trysten settle into the management of her weyr, make some good decisions and start to peel back the layers of the mystery she’s been trying to decipher. She has so many new people in Aeron and she begins to suspect that at least one of them is a spy, his motives adding to the general mayhem.
Book 4 and this tale is not beginning to pall; it just keeps getting better.

hard to put down
Definitely a book you won’t want to start if you have to put it down…. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Now I am anxious to get into the next book. Love the characters, personalities, cultures, all of what makes a great story.

dragon ever book 4
Since I started this series, it only gets better every book forward. The heroine’s talents are ever increasing with her alpha dragon. Definitely worth reading!
