This is an entertaining, fast paced, well-written, suspense novella. It has intrigue, mystery, family drama, a curse, and a surprise ending. I am looking forward to reading the other entries in this series with great anticipation!

Wow! Suspense, secrets, family fueds, this book has it all! When Elle's grandmother passes away on Founder's Day, Elle is called home. What happens over the next year is certainly eye opening, but the ending certainly threw me for a loop!

Rachel Renee’s latest book has it all: family secrets, mysteries around every corner, and the biggest twist at the root of it all. Renee manages to keep the reader on the edge of their seats with this novella. I never saw that ending coming! A suspenseful story with one chilling twist after the next. This book had me watching over my shoulder as I read! One of the most unique and exciting books I’ve read in a long time...

This book took a little while to draw me in. At first I just wasn't clicking with the main character, but then she arrived at her grandmother's house and weird stuff started happening. From that point on I didn't want to put the book down.

Okay, I'll confess that, being a horror movie buff who loves stories with a paranormal twist, I was secretly hoping that the strange occurances would turn out to be the grandmother's ghost. Alas, that is not the story this turned out to be, but it is a page-turner none-the-less, and it has a nice (well, maybe not so nice, lol) ending that most readers won't see coming.

Hats off to Rachel Renee for hooking me with a creepy little story with an even creepier final chapter.

I got an ARC of this book. What a suspense/thriller. The secrets that are in this family were so unbelievable. I totally loved reading this book. It kept you on the edge the entire time. Especially when that fateful day comes up in Crimson Falls. I definitely was shocked with what happened at the end. A definite page turner and an awesome suspense/thriller. When you are left on the edge in a book not knowing what to expect it's awesome. Thank you Rachel. 5 star plus from me.

Rachel Renee brings us a tale that will keep you on the edge your chair the entire time, especially when Founders Day comes to Crimson Falls.  The Last DuPont is a definite page turner and an awesome suspense/thriller.

Ella's grandmother died on October 13, a grandmother Ella doesn't remember.  Now she's back to settle her granny's estate - It should only take a couple of days.

Her mother always insisted the town was cursed, that's why they never returned or visited.  But Ella doesn't believe in curses.  A year later Ella has settled and found someone to love.

This five star thriller's ending blew my mind, I was no way thinking this would happen.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the author and this is my honest review.  Enjoy.

So I have made it through almost all of this Crimson Falls series and I have to say they are amazing reads. This one is just as great a read. With twist and turns that you wont have the complete picture of until the final chapter, figure out the lies and betrayal if you can. Her mother took her away to keep her safe. But when her grandmother passes she dares to return. Trying to find answers to her endless list of questions isn't easy, and the final chapter will still your breath and leave you spinning. I love these novellas and can honestly say you are taken for a thrill of a ride with each one of them. I have enjoyed reading the authors that were new to me and have to say the ones I already have read before didn't disappoint. This is another goody added to the series that will have you spinning through the last line.

Lawd have mercy, this story was something else! Ella Dupont suffered the curse of Crimson Falls at an early age, so her mother took her & ran, and they didn't look back. Twenty years later, she's called home because she's the last Dupont after her grandmother passed away, so she needs to settle her estate. Ella only thinks she's there temporarily, but somehow the town draws her in, and she finds herself staying. Man, the twists in this story had me dropping so many f-bombs it wasn't even funny. And just when I thought I was safe, HOLY HELL! The story flipped the script completely! Yeah, I NEVER would have guessed the secrets that were revealed EVER! So I'm not saying another word because why ruin the crazy experience for anyone else! Enjoy! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

To say this story surprised me at the end is not giving it enough credit, because it came at me like a car going 0-60 mph! The shock stood with me all day! It was that incredible. I did not see it coming!
Ella is the Last DuPont and She goes back to Crimson Falls to close out her Grandmothers Estate only to learn certain things along the way about her family and herself. Does Crimson Falls have a Curse? You will have to read this book to find out and I have to say that if you miss this one you are missing out!!

Weird

Not a thriller. No twist till the last pages. Kinda boring. Good thing it was short. Still a pleasant quick read. Just not what I was expecting given then rest of the series.

What a great story! Ella Dupont gets called back to her birthplace after leaving 20 years earlier. Find herself the owner of an old house and the heart of a young man. Ella falls in love, but is she willing to sacrifice everything for Crimson Falls? A surprise ending that I never saw coming!

Crimson Falls is a town where anything can happen and usually does.

This story takes place in a totally different time period than the previous Crimson Falls novellas, and it was an interesting difference. There wasn’t a ton of action, but the twist is pretty bold and you don’t see it coming. This added a different perspective to the whole Crimson Falls story, seeing it from such an early time. This story made me wish that this was a complete novel, so I could get all of the backstory and details. Overall, it was well done. The twists slaps you in the face. #thelastdupont #rachelrenee #crimsonfalls #novella #crimsonfalls8 #shortstory #read #bookstagram #booklover #bookstagrammer #bookreview #bookworm

“Curses be damned, I’m coming for what is rightfully mine.”

Set in 1970. Back in the cursed town of Crimson Falls.

Ella Dupont’s grandmother dies. Shockingly, she’s left her entire estate to the estranged granddaughter.

Now 25, Ella left Crimson Falls 20 years ago. She’s driving back up from Georgia with her shepherd, Rusty (totally the best character in this book, btw).

The pace is a bit on the slow side; the narrative is rather pedestrian. Features a lot of the usual—open windows, bizarre noises, mysterious photographs…

Foreboding sense of danger throughout…yet Ella remains in the creepy town.

A family feud is revealed—between the Astors and the Duponts

Not the expected ending. Not a terrible read. Not one that will be memorable, either.
