Artemas, known as the academic son of Poseidon, spent much of his time trying to work out how the Fates decided who was to be mated to whom. With the fall of his brothers, his father, and others in their close circle, he was worried he'd be next in line and the last thing he wanted or needed was a mate. But his uncle Zeus pulled him away from his studies with a special project for him - the retrieval of a book from an auction. A very special book by all accounts; the only known written record from the god Silvanus, one of the originals who hadn't been heard from for decades. Unable to resist a good book mystery, Artemas agrees to leave Poseidon's library long enough to bid on it.

Silvanus had spent fifty years in deep despair over what was happening to the world. He'd been alone since the beginning of time, and when his depression reached breaking point, he pleads with the Fates to remove him from the tapestry of life. Telling him it was impossible, the Fates agreed to a promise instead. Silvanus would find his mate and the love his heart hoped for. Seeking to regain his book, after it'd been sold at an auction, Silvanus lands in a hotel room, meeting his fated promise face-to-face. Unfortunately, their first meeting was not the romantic event Silvanus had hoped for.

It's soon clear Artemas's emotional baggage wasn't the only threat to their possible mating. A meddling god is on the loose, and when Odin and Loki are ruled out as possible suspects, only one other god comes to mind. Throw in the fact that Thor was due to give birth any minute, and Artemas and Silvanus have to work together in more ways than one. Will Silvanus ever get the time to heal the pain in Artemas's heart, or will the meddling god take everything they have and more?

This is an MM true mates’ story, based on ancient gods. MPREG elements are not the main focus of this story, but a cursing Thor does give birth within these pages. Being familiar with the previous books in this series, and the Cloverleah Pack series will help give context to the storyline.

Artemas' story was funny and engaging. As the eldest known child of Poseidon his life was not easy or that happy. He has always felt less, unseen by those who were supposed to love him. So when he learns that he was gifted with a mate, his old insecurities rise up to the surface. Despite his sometimes standoffish attitude Artemas is a very caring person, he just hides it well. I loved how finally Artemas found his self confidence, how he stood up for himself. He has so much love to give, and his mate shows him that it's alright to let go.

Silvanus is as old as time. He wished for a mate and children, and when he meets Artemas he is overjoyed. But he puts his foot in his mouth way too many times. It's so sweet when he tries to figure out how to make amends, how patient and romantic he is while guessing what will make Artemas happy. Both gods fit so seamlessly together. At times Silvanus was the voice of reason and strength, at times he was just a man trying to make his mate happy and not a god.

I was pretty sure who the villain was. I was happy how the book ended - Artemas might be a scholar but when the situation calls for it he can be a fierce warrior! I liked this balance between Artemas' gentle kindness and power of a god commanding Poseidon's waters. I loved all the side characters, and Thor was hilarious in the end. I loved the choices Artemas made, and how supportive and understanding Silvanus was. Another wonderful book from Lisa! I highly recommend it!

If you enjoy Lisa Oliver books you will enjoy this one too. It’s a great addition to the series. It took me a while but I really liked Artie. He had been through years of feeling unwanted and once he decided enough was enough he stood up for himself, even to the fates themselves. I liked Silva as well, but as he was such a calm presence I kind of feel like I don’t know him as well. They were in the end well matched.
I liked that the fact that Artie didn’t want kids was used as a storyline and as a discussion point between the two. It seems like in romancia land that is one of main goals, and there are people who just don’t want kids, so it was good to see them represented to an extent here. Yes they probably will have kids at some point but I’m glad they get to choose when.

There are so many characters I want to see next I don’t know who to wish for, but I kind of hope Hades or Ra is next

Wow

I always eagerly anticipate any book by this author and this one was no exception. I absolutely love this series and the connect Cloverleah series. Each one in both series have been amazing and fantastic reads. Full of world building, love, hot scences, action, and emotion. I have absolutely loved every single one. But this book took me by surprise. Artemas had so much more to him than we had seen in previous books. I had tears in my eyes a certain points and was so proud of him in others. Artemas and his past, how Silvanus love gave him courage and helped see his self worth was an absolutely beautiful and breathtaking journey to read. And somehow out of nowhere a character that hadnt left much of an impression on me became my favorite by this author. In my opinion this has been the best book by Oliver so far. And only cemented her status as one of my favorite authors. I absolutely reccomend this read and eagerly anticipate the next.

This was another amazing book by Lisa Oliver and i couldn't put it down.

Artemas seemed stand off ish and disinterested in previous books, but in this one, the reasons for that become clear very fast. My heart ached all through this book for him. He was such a wonderful man who just needed one person in his corner to see how great he is and how others truly see him (including Poseidon).

Silvanus was such a great character. Everything good and solid. Yes, he messed it up a little, but through no true fault of his own. I really really loved him.

I will near more of these two men in the future.

Great great book

Loved it!

Artemas has been such a fun character throughout this series. I loved that he was trying so hard to figure out the logic behind the Fates' makings of gods in order to avoid their machinations.

Silvanus was so patient and understanding of Artie's concerns and fears; he was perfect. I liked that Silva was coming into this story having been promised the hope of a mate from the Fates, when he believed that there was no hope left for him. I'd like to think that this gave him more perspective to help Artie recognize his own value.

Lisa never fails to entertain!

I was very much looking forward to reading this book and was delighted when it came out.

I've always been interested in the other half of Artemas's parentage as his character has always been somewhat of a mystery.

Silvanus is the perfect balance to the turmoil inside Artemas and very much worthy of Artemas and of interest in himself.

You could read about all of these characters and Lisa's spin on mythology and never be bored. The more you read the more involved you become.

I'm happy to read about any of the next set of mates but since book two, I've really been looking forward to Baby's story.

Buy, read and enjoy!

I was eagerly anticipating the next book in The God’s Made Me Do It series and this book was beyond my expectations. You fall in love with Artemas and at times your heart just bleeds for him. Silvanus is wonderful for him but thankfully not perfect. There is bad guys, intrigue, angst, romance and just enough humor that you won’t want to put this book down till your done and then your going to want to read it again. I would recommend reading all the books in the series in order but you will never regret getting any of them including this one!

Enthralling.

This was a different story...A different feeling. No fights. Of course, it is Artemis' story. I was enthralled to learn his story. His mate was very incredible and perfect for him. READ THESE BOOKS IN ORDER!

Lisa Oliver’s books are always an auto-buy for me. That’s saying something since there are VERY FEW authors I auto-buy anymore, especially if the book is priced above $2.99. I don’t even look at the price of one of Lisa’s books, I just hit the ‘buy’ button.

Even though I have my favorite series by her (Cloverleah, if you were wondering), I just know I’ll always have a great read with one of her books, with no cheating, sweet characters, great editing with very few spelling errors, and most importantly, no one is in a stereotypical, cardboard cutter gay role. Plus I am one of those readers that loves the ‘insta-Mate’ feature in my paranormal romances. This book was no exception. Silvanus & Artemas were great together!

I also liked the way it was handled when Artemas confessed to Silvanus that he wasn’t ready for children and wasn’t sure if he ever would be. There was no quick and easy solution to it, or a sudden changing of his mind just because he met his mate and fell in love. They actually talked about it. It was handled very well. I’m sure that somewhere down the road they will eventually have children, but since they both are immortal they have plenty of time, so it wasn’t crucial that it happened during this book at any point. Now we just have to hope that the Fate’s keep their word on that.

Now that I finished reading it I guess I’ll have to go back and re-read the other books in the series again. That’s the only drawback for me on what happens when Lisa puts out a new book in a series. Since I read so many books in between I just always feel like I have to freshen up on the other characters and always go back and re-read the rest of the series again. Such a hardship I know.

Not sure who she’s going to have in the next book, but the epilogue gives a teaser thinking it might be Baby. I don’t have a preference, so I won’t complain no matter who it is as the main character in the next book. The only VERY MINOR pet peeve I had about this book, and I do with several other books by other authors as well, not just Lisa, is I didn’t get an exact description of what the characters look like. Example, haircolor and eye color. Their builds and vague facial descriptions were given (I think there was one part later in the book when it was mentioned that Artemis had blue eyes), but I love when I’m reading romances to be able to visualize the main characters clearly in my head, and I have a hard time doing that if I don’t know their body builds and hair and eye color pretty early in the story. I can’t remember if I’ve had this issue in previous stories of Lisa’s, and as I said before, it’s a very minor annoyance to me and certainly won’t stop me from auto-buying any future books she writes.

So please Lisa keep on writing. I may love some of the series more than others, but I’m never disappointed in any of your stories!

Classic Lisa Oliver writing in this new addition to the Gods Made Me Do It series. I know everyone has been waiting for Baby's story, but it's not his time yet to find love. This one featured Artemas the academic brother, or should I say reluctant to find a mate brother. Every person in Artemas's life has left him or let him down so why should a mate be any different whether they are fated or not? This is the issue Silvanus faces when he basically has to spend the entire book convincing Artemas he's not going anywhere; That he's ecstatic about the fates choice for him in mate. The man is one of the first gods in existence. He's been alone for millennia watching his precious earth be ruined by humans. All he's ever wanted is a companion and he is just thankful the fates finally blessed him with one. The man is sweet as pie while Artemas kind of acts a bit selfish and whiny for some of the book judging Silvanus before he even gets to know him based on past experience. Fear not! All ends well as usual with another mated pair. We even get a small glimpse of Baby in the epilogue, though Lisa states he does not know if he will be next.

Excellent Series

Paranormal Romance is a genre that’s challenging as it is. Now combine that with gods, myths, legends, powers, history and the fact main characters appreciate the same sex without it being taboo but normalized is wonderful. There’s also something to be said in that character development from first book of series flows into all the ones that follow. This way when you’re attached to a character fear not they’re still present in accompanying stories.

It saddens me that people thought to steal your work as it’s your income as a full time and talented author. Though my husband is currently cringing at my Amazon bills as I read all the series and purchase them he understands and I keep him happy with a clean house, garden, and above a epic food made daily for when he returns home. So far he’s sated.

My hope is that you continue being of benefit to self and others through your writings and that others appreciate that honoring authors through honest purchases is practicing the paramitas we should all follow. Xoxo

A story of m/m gods loving

Artemis, oldest son of Poseidon is used to hiding out in his father's library and not mingling with others. He is asked by his Uncle Zeus to go to an auction to pick up an old book once belonging to an old god of the woodlands, Silvanius. The book immediately comes almost alive as he takes it out and it turns out they are mates. It does not go smoothly as Artemis does not want a mate and someone dangerous wants the book. We have mystery, deep personal issues, lots of angst and finally a hea. This book is a great addition to the series and I challenge you not to tear up because it is so easy to get involved with what happens to our main characters.

The latest in the author’s series on ancient deities moves away from the shifter world a bit and delves firmly into the world of the most ancient magic and nature. The recurring theme of troubled parenting found in many of the authentic author’s Cloverleah and God’s series is at play, along with the Fates, an appearance of a Cloverleah triad, a divine couple, and magicked humans. In short it has all of the fluffy supernatural elements that fans of this series should enjoy, especially those who appreciate the emergence of the reserved academic/librarian. (His mate was perhaps a bit subdued, but the plot and Artemas’s story were fairly robust.)

Artie and Silva

I think this one is one of my favorites so far in the chronological order of things. Silvanus has longed for a mate for eons while Artemas wants nothing to do with the whole business. Silva has some serious wooing to do but Artie is so worth it. I have enjoyed watching some of these other gods learn how to be gentler and softer with their families, knowing it doesn’t make them weak. One thing I really enjoyed with this one is how much Silvanus respects Artie and his choices. They ultimately discuss the things that will affect them most. It may take Artie a little time to realize that, but he is worth after all!

Wonderful

I bought this book as a birthday present to myself, l love Lisa's books. Artemas just about broke my heart, his childhood was lonely , until his brothers came along, books were his only friends. Silvanus is absolutely wonderful, the two of them are perfect together. For me this is another wonderful book from Lisa, please keep them coming. Looking forward to reading more perfection from her.

I Can See You (book 5)

I chose the rating of five stars for two reasons, one being I am a fan/follower of all works created by Lisa Oliver and the second reason being I love the creative work that allows the mind to explore the myths of historic Gods, romance, suspense and a forever love which you will discover in this book and much more, happy reading! I recommend this book and others created/written by Ms. Oliver for purchase.

Another fabulous read.

Another fabulous book in this series. Artie and Silva were well matched and as usual the other gods were meddling and causing chaos. What I love about these books is there are real tender moments between all the characters and the world created is vaguely familiar like if you look hard enough you might bump into a god. I loved it and am straight off to read the next one.

Awesome fun as always

Heartsore Gods, Fated mates, demigod babies. Hot men having hotter sex. Add in a dash of dark magic, jealousy and a little mystery and you have a fun book. I highly recommend Lisa Oliver's books to anyone who is a fan of a well told story. Please remember, our authors can't keep writing the books we love if we don't pay for the books, so buy a copy!!

Beautiful

I loved this book so much. I was tempted to cry but all together I felt so much love and my heart wanted to burst with joy because of how happy the book made me. I really hope Artemis decided he wants kids soon because Silvanus and him would make amazing parents. I can't wait for the next story and even more books from this author!

I am a HUGE fan of Lisa’s and own and have read every book of hers. I’ve been waiting for Artemis’s book and she did not disappoint. I love the length of her books as I feel like I’ve read and enjoyed a complete story instead of just a snippet of one. Lisa will always be an automatic buy for me and this book just solidified it!

Oh my gosh Lisa. That was wonderful. And I knew it was something to do with that jerkface. And they’ve done away with him for at least 1000 years. And Baby, omg, you have to write something about his troubles. Anyway good writing Lisa. And like I always say if you write it I will buy it 😊

Awesome

Another great story by this author. Was nice to finally see "The Librarian" meet his match (in more ways that one). Silvanus was a clever character for this story, he added more dimensions to the God series and made a perfect mate. Poseidon really grew in maturity in this book too. So many great subplots. Loved it, I want the next one now please😆.

Interesting spin on the Gods

As always Lisa Oliver is an automatic one click for me. Attempt has finally got his own forever mate plus dealing with daddy issues that make a heartwarming story. Plus you get to see Thor in a very different way as he and Orin finally meet their babies.

Crazy things happening with Gods. Funniest thing ever Thor having twins, and emotional rollercoaster his mate was on worrying about Thor fighting. Poseidon's first son finally mating and all the baggage came with it.
