What if the mess of your life is where God is about to do his best work? Life can be a tangled mess. Luke Lezon's mess came in the form of alarming health issues, transforming him from fun-loving and God-fearing to angry and hopeless. As Luke's health deteriorated for months without answers, the stress of not knowing suddenly spiraled into a mental and emotional breakdown. As a pastor, he wasn't supposed to struggle with life's mess - but then maybe we've been wrong about the mess all along. As Luke learned, you are not made of the mess, you are made through it. If you're feeling lonely or less-than, ashamed of where you've been or anxious about where you're going, this is a message crafted just for God is never afraid of a mess. He's never run from some dirt and blood. In fact, the mess is exactly where he does his best work. If we believe that God created us from dust and redeemed us through the blood of the cross, we can trust him with our tangled lives. Your Mess Matters is a lifeline to hang on to, a light in the dark reminding you that God is still at work, making your life more beautiful than ever before. Through vulnerable stories of his own journey and profound biblical truths, Luke will guide you through the process of entrusting your story to Jesus and letting him work his biggest promises through your greatest regrets. With Luke's encouraging insight and bold truth-telling, your mind will be comforted, your heart inspired, and your soul empowered to let God transform your mess into a masterpiece.
One can’t help but admire Luke’s honesty and earnestness in approaching such sensitive topics about his faith journey. Not sure if the all the pop culture references were necessary, but this is such a deeply grounded work - one that reminds us that we are molded in the midst of the chaos in life.
I have been following Luke online for quite awhile and have always drawn inspiration and confidence from his blog, videos, and his quotes. So I was very excited when he decided to write a book! This book is everything I expected it to be. Luke is a clear and passionate communicator. He is funny and relatable. This book reminds us all that no matter where we are in our journey with God, no matter how messy our lives are, and no matter what we are going through, we are not going through it alone. We have a Father who loves us, who will meet us in our mess, and who will be with us always--for our good and for His glory. What great reassurance!!
His writing style reminds me of Steve Furtick, they use alot of pop culture references to prove a point. I got annoyed with references partially because I wasn’t familiar with some of them and I think it would be more appropriate for speaking in front of an audience to keep them engaged. Talked about how our pain has purpose, “God doesn’t avoid our mess he meets us in the middle of it” medical issue was too graphic for me
What amazing honesty and wisdom and encouragement. We all have messes in our lives and this book will speak Truth into yours and encourage you to keep stepping!! A great read.
I had the opportunity to read this book pre-release and I have been so blessed by it already! It’s thought-provoking, filled with applicable scripture, and makes the reader evaluate their own “mess” in life with a different perspective.
