Perfect book for a beginning workshop teacher and teachers with writing workshop teaching experience!

The pictures and videos challenge novice and experienced teachers to consider all the nuances of writing workshop including: physical environment, establishing routines, instruction, small group strategy work, charting and beyond. Great book for a building-wide book study as every teacher could find areas to refine their practices!

This book has everything you need to increase your confidence and competence as a writing workshop teacher while maintaining the voice and choice of the students. The best feature: Lynne and Stacey are at your side all the way through as your personal guides!

This book is a gift to teachers. Stacey Shubitz and Lynne Dorfman have written a resource that all teachers must have. The videos, explanations, and extras featuring expert educators from around the country enhance the learning for anyone looking to deepen the workshop experience for students.

Phenomenal practical advice. Definitely engineered towards elementary, but there's a lot of great stuff for secondary as well.

Straightforward, maybe too much. Didn't see a lot of nuance to the approaches, but they weren't bad approaches. If you do the things outlined herein, I don't think you'd be a poor teacher. I do believe there is room to do more than is outlined herein.
