From New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg comes the raw, sexy, and jaw-dropping finale to the Wicked Ways series.
I play to win, and I won’t let anything—or anyone—get in the way of what I want.
The first time I met Vaughn Sanders, I knew I wanted her. Confident, intelligent, and downright sexy. I thought I knew how to play her game. I was ready and willing for the challenge. Little did I know she was full of secrets and surprises.
But so am I.
Charming a woman into my bed has never been my problem. It’s the relationship part that is. They want it. I don’t. But can you blame me? Broken marriages are how I make a living. Hell, no self-respecting man would let a woman own his thoughts, invade his dreams, and steal his heart. So how in the world has Vaughn done that to me?
I’ve fallen in love with her. There. I said it. But that acknowledgment comes with a heavy price.
Everything and everyone seem to be working against us, leaving us both to question whether what we have is worth the cost.
New York Times Bestselling author K. Bromberg writes contemporary romance novels that make you work to get your happily ever after. She likes to write strong heroines and damaged heroes, who we love to hate but can’t help but love.
Since publishing her first book on a whim in 2013, Kristy has sold over two million copies of her books across twenty different countries and has landed on the New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists over thirty times.
A mom of three, Kristy finds the only thing harder than finishing the book she’s writing is navigating parenthood during the teenage years (send more wine!). She loves dogs, sports, a good book, and is an expert procrastinator. She lives in Southern California with her family.

What a crazy ride! Everything I was worried about for Vaughn in book one came crashing down on her. I had no idea how she was going to get out of the mess. It seemed that no matter what she did she was going to feel backlash.
Ryker was the bad guy at the end of book one. I love how the author starts out the second book with his pov of those events. We got to see into his mind and what he was thinking. I'm used to reading about hero's who dominate the enemy, so it was a bit surprising to see that Ryker had some vulnerabilities here.
I loved how this story came together. It wasn't predictable and I was left feeling satisfied with how it all came together at the end. This was such a compelling duet. I loved both main characters. They were intriguing and I wanted to see them beat the odds and make it. The added side character of Lucy brought heart to the story.
Overall, this was a pretty exciting read. It's full of drama that will have you riveted to the pages.
The man who said he didn’t believe in love, loving the woman who said she never could love.
WOWZA!!! Talk about ending with a bang!! Because this book was one plot twist after another with a grovel so good, it's DELICIOUS. Like finger licking good. Seriously. YUM!!!
I was instantly hooked on Ryker and Vaughn in the first book. Their back and forth, never ending power play did something for me. In a big way. There was something just so spine tingling about their connection. Both of them are convinced that love isn't for them. Vaughn is focused on saving the last semblance of her family, and Ryker is jaded from childhood. Sound good? It was. As much as it was frustrating. But then Ryker screws up in the worst sort of ways at the end of Resist and a devastated Vaughn has no choice but to run.
Reveal takes off immediately after the conclusion of the first book. Vaughn still reeling from Ryker's betrayal and the repercussions that it brings, and Ryker desperate to make things right. Lies, secrets, blackmail, betrayal. There's so much that happens in this book and all of it will make your head spin. Just when you think the twists are over, K. Bromberg hits you over the head with another one and all of it makes for one thrilling page turner. I loved the journey these two had to their HEA and seeing Ryker's softer side come out more and more. This was the perfect conclusion to this thrilling and sizzling duet.

Oh, sweet baby Jesus! This was everything I wanted and nothing I was expecting!
Vaughn and Ryker’s story picks up where it heartbreakingly broke off in book one. Ryker has messed up royally, as in there is no going back after his actions. We get his point of view and we understand the why, but you know, sometimes that just doesn’t justify a person’s actions. And Vaughn does not yield to his explanations and pleas for forgiveness. If you like groveling, the first forty percent of this book is filled with the angst of this couple trying to deal with his betrayal and how that affects Vaughn, not just emotionally, but in a way that opens the door to danger.
I loved watching Vaughn and Ryker evolve from two individuals with their issues regarding love and happy ever afters, to a place that was real, one where they had to make the emotional choices of what to give in to and what to fight. But even when they know how they feel and what they want, this isn’t a fairytale where everything automatically works out for them. They are human and flawed and they make decisions that can adversely affect their relationship. And while their troubles are more than what the “normal” couple would experience, the manner in which they dealt with them felt very realistic.
There are many layers to this story, beginning in Resist and continuing throughout Reveal. With the level of emotion written here I wasn’t expecting more but holy heck did I get it! Several times over! When engaged in a story I often can read it in one sitting, but the angst here was so painful at times, I had to take a step back for a breather.
I loved everything about this book. Vaugh and Ryker as well as Lucy and the swoon worthy moments when Ryker was interacting with her, are all characters and images I’ll hold for a long while. And as if all the previous emotions we’re given throughout the story weren’t enough, we get an epilogue that had tears welling in my eyes and my throat clogged from holding back a happy sob. Nothing makes an angsty read more worthwhile than this type of ending.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Montlake Romance. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a romance book, and it is the 2nd book in the Wicked Ways series. I read and review Wicked Ways book 1, and the way that Wicked Ways Book 1 ended I have been dying to read this book. I felt this book was just ok not great. (*)
5 'Love in the sunset' Stars! ARC provided by the author via Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review.
After that cliffhanger in Resist, I could not wait a second to read Reveal. As soon as it appeared on my Kindle, I started reading because I wanted to know what would happen to Ryker and especially Vaughn. My goodness, what a roller coaster this was for these two! I was at the edge of my seat at every turn but since this is K. Bromberg we are talking about, I was 100% in and all over it.
Reveal is the second and final installment in the Wicked Ways duet and it follows the sexy and suspenseful story of Ryker Lockhart and Vaughn Sanders. If you read the first book, you know these two do not have a typical love story because they come from two very different worlds. But when they are together every difference dissapears and it was impossible for them not to fall for each other. But not everything is hearts and flowers, not in this duet and for this couple. Especially after what happens at the end of Resist. Will Ryker and Vaughn get their happy ending?
Most people look for love in the sunrise, when they don’t realize for them it can be found in the sunset.
Wow, this is definitely more than what I expected! This is probably the most suspenseful story I have read by this author. Reveal is full of mystery, vengeance and threats but still keeping the mindblowing chemistry and emotion between Ryker and Vaughn. I loved reading how Ryker falls completely in love with this woman and how decided he is to protect and love her. Also I loved how strong Vaughn is as an invidual and how much she loves Ryker and Lucy (her sister's daughter). Both characters fight hard for what they believe in and love and it is plastered all over these pages.
It’s just him and me together in here. A world where no one can touch us. It’s just us. Two people who can’t seem to stop fighting their way toward each other despite everything trying to hold them back.
Of course, leaving all the dark moments aside, Reveal still is very much a romance. Ryker and Vaughn together are just as explosive (or even more) as they were in the first book. This novel just takes them to the next level, including their feelings growing to a full extent and how difficult is for them to surpass all the obstacles in their path. But they do surpass them and I fully enjoyed reading thier deserved happy ending together with the adorable Lucy.
“You ready to give me your wish and your worry, Sanders?”
Therefore, I am rating Reveal with 5 STARS because it was an absolute delight for me to read it. I am so happy for this couple, especially after going through all those difficulties in their story, they found each other and they have given us an incredible romance journey. Yes, it was a roller coaster and there was many bad people involved, but everything ended well and I am so glad about it. K. Bromberg again excels with her writing and, as always, I can't wait to see what is next!
You need to have read Resist before diving in to Reveal, is it carries on right where the first book finished off.
Ugh, now at the end of the first book I was so annoyed with our leading lady. Seriously Vaughn, after all you and Ryker had been through, you run off p!ssed at him and the world and don't let him talk to you. Did you really think that was what happened. Ugh. This is a big bug bear of mine, when the characters don't communicate.
After they got past that, it was an intriguing story. Who was messing with Vaughn? What had she gotten caught up in. I was riveted the whole time I was reading.
And Ryker, Ryker, Ryker - for a smart man, you were a bit gullible.
There were so many questions after the first book, and I was not sure that Ms Bromberg was going to be able to tie up all the loose ends in the second installment, however I shouldn't have worried, she never lets me down that way.
There were a couple of twists that I certainly did not see coming too!
This second book didn't worked for me, and it wasn't about the audiobook at all...
I get that Ryker did it wrong at the end of Resist, but how long could this story be dragged with him running after Vaughn like a lost puppy, and her blaming and complaining about him All. The. Time?
I thought about DNF this audiobook so many times while I was reading... But I'm that person... The one who just can't drop books without knowing everything, and have always that tiny hope that things will get better.
Well... Unfortunately to me, they didn't.
Vaughn started the first book with so much potential... Super powerful, smart and confident... Holding her ground and protecting her girls like a badass boss lady! But sadly, that façade fell out pretty damn quickly!
She was a whining and annoying mess along the whole book! Always playing the victim and acting like she could do everything all by herself, throwing Ryker away in one moment and then having sex with him in the next, because why not? 🙄😒 and man they really go for it all the time, before she runsv away from his bed, and the cycle starts again.
Their jobs were just mentioned here and there and as a famous madam, she didn't really spent time taking care of her "business".
Too many inconsistencies. The story dragged too much... Like reaaaally too much! It was repetitive and predictable. You knew everything that was happening and you could definitely say how it would end it... Who was who there, and how at the end, the author had chosen to create two different attacks against Vaughn, by two different men obsessed with her (because she should be reaaaally gorgeous and irresistible, to have all the story told around men tailing up behind her), and all that "in the same day", and having Ryker saving her in both attacks... Obviously! It was just ridiculous and extra as hell.
Even the sappy epilogue was sooooo boring, that I think even the author was already tired of this story, and just wanted to be done and get over with! At least the was a HEA.
But again... That's MY unpopular opinion... Maybe it can work for you, even if it didn't worked for me. ❤️
🎧 About the Audiobook Narration 🎧
Thank God it was a good Narration, because on the contrary, I could never make it until the end!
Also it's available with KU, so my credits weren't in vain.
A little bit of suspense … a whole lot of drama. A beautiful little girl … a woman who doesn’t know who to trust. A man who won’t admit his feelings … another man who is on a power trip … and another man who can ruin everything. A complex and intriguing story that will grip you right from the beginning and not let you go.
Ryker is a man in love who is fighting the fight of his life. Trying to fight is feelings, trying to fight the Senator, trying to fight to get Vaughn to understand and accept him. As the story progresses, he finds out that there is so much more to Vaughn that she may not even know. When he finally finds out everything, he can’t help but want to protect what he considers is his. But, is he adding more fuel to the fire or helping her?
Vaughn can’t believe the turn her life has taken. She is doing everything for Lucy but can’t help but wonder if her relationship with Ryker is the best or worst thing that has ever happened to her. It takes a lot for her to forgive his indiscretion but she can see in his eyes, his words and his heart, that he thought he was doing the right thing. Too bad everything back-fired. Now, faced with her past and her present she has some major decisions to make. She know she can end it all with just one meeting but something is holding her back. Now, she has no choice. Time for her to take back her life, let the feelings she has for Ryker surface and face her problems head on.
The story itself was complex. The twists and turns just added to the story and I couldn’t wait to see how all the pieces of this puzzle fit together. I was surprised then sad that I saw this one coming. But, I wasn’t prepared for how it would all end before the HEA could be found. I’m usually not surprised so you know that K. Bromberg did a wonderful job telling this story. I was really drawn into this story with all the different story lines and how they all fit together. She wrote a beautiful girl in Lucy and I loved how she made her the center of attention whenever she was brought into the story. Vaughn was complicated yet so very simple. A women who knew her place in the world, accepted it and was working the best way she knew how to make everyone happy and a better life for everyone. As for Ryker. Well, he was just as vulnerable as Vaughn was. He wanted nothing more but to protect her, help her get custody of Lucy and just be there to soothe her pain, take her troubles away and love her – even if it took two books for him to realize that last one.
I shouldn’t be surprised with the way K. Bromberg draws me into a story. She has a way of building characters that are strong yet compassionate. Her story lines are interesting and intelligent. She pulls no punches throughout the story … tells it like it is and makes you see the reality of the situation, the repercussions of decisions made in the heat of the moment and the love that shines through in the end. Reveal was emotional, sensual and extremely powerful written by an author that knows how to bring a story to life.
This is the exciting conclusion to the Wicked Ways duet and it definitely lived up to the title.
If you cast your mind back to how things left off between Ryker and Vaughan, he had dug himself into a very large hole that he needed a digger to get out of. Vaughan is feeling completely devastated and blind sided by the one person she implicitly trusted. Everything Vaughan has been working so hard for could be taken from her and it’s all down to Ryker. She wished she had never let him in to her life. Vaughan’s closely guarded closet has been well and truly opened.
Vaughan is used to being the only one in charge of her own destiny and she draws on her ability to adapt to fight for what she so desperately wants. She won’t give up on what is rightfully hers, even if it means sacrificing what she had with Ryker. Ryker realises the mess he has created and the implications for Vaughan. He sets out to make things right and show her that he is a man of his word, one that she can trust.
Ryker struggles with this huge emotional upheaval that has impacted every part of his life, he has fallen in love and his need to protect what is his dominates his every decision. Nothing will get in the way of his determination to make things right and give Vaughan everything she so desperately wants.
So much happens in this fast paced story, secrets are revealed and there are lots of twists that kept me obsessively reading late into the night. Fabulous duet!
OMG this book was amazing, the anticipation/waiting was unbearable. It picked up where the last book left off. Vaughn Sanders & Ryker Lockhart were perfect until that moment when Vaughn walked in on Ryker & the senator conversation, the one man Vaughn hated. Feeling betrayed because of Ryker's words & action Vaughn vowed to never believe in a man again. This book had you going through every emotion, it had so many twist and turns that have your head spinning. Worth a read you will be left on a book high after this read!!!!!
Ryker and Vaughn UTTERLY CONSUMED my life. A sleepless night after the ending of Resist and then I was restless the whole time I read Reveal.
O. M. G.
Their intense story line was an incredible rollercoaster ride of suspense and emotion as well as a combo of heat filled tension and passion from ebb and flows of Ryker and Vaughn’s relationship.
It took me quite some time to come down from the incredible high I got from this book. I needed long moments to decompress. I mean, for two days straight Vaughn and Ryker were all I could think about. Their chemistry was just as intense as it was in RESIST. That stubborn streak of Vaughn’s never wavered. And Ryker’s persistence never waned. Even when they had secrets and surprises jumping out of every closet to keep them apart. They may have weakened for a slight moment in time, but what they shared was incredibly real and they joined forces to get through it all and come out on top.
The suspense build up from RESIST definitely gave me the full blown effect here. My stomach was in knots, my nerves were shot... but when they came out the other side??? My heart was beyond happy and content. What an INCREDIBLE story from K Bromberg!!!
Well that was just intense! Ryker and vaughn’s story was filled with secrets, deception and so many things that will make you wanting more.
Sure this book wasn’t perfect. Vaughn tested my patience a little bit in this book but overall I more than liked it. There is absolutely no doubt that the chemistry between Ryker and Vaughn is passionate. These characters lives makes for a storyline that is filled with drama without it being predictable.
Don't read this 2nd book if you haven't read the first one yet!
Book 2 starts a few minutes before the first book ended. We get to see the last scene from Ryker's POV.
And then it will take Ryker and Vaughn a good long time to stop fighting and to finally get together to fight for their future and against that effing senator!
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH VAUGHN & RYKER ? WILL THERE FINALLY BE A HAPPY END? READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT ☺
══════════════════
Well, I didn't really love-love it. But I already knew about that by the end of book #1. The way Vaughn runs away after hearing Ryker say all those things. How could she believe he meant it? How??? I just don't get it. And the 2nd book starts with her being soo pissed for so long. I wanted to reach into my kindle and throw her out the nearest window. I almost stopped reading ... But of course she couldn't resist Ryker's adorableness for too long.
And then the story gets interesting again. Sexy. Fun. Exciting. Dangerous. But then Kristy goes and lets our darlings do so many stupid things. Ryker the lawyer gets played like an idiot and they don't talk to each other and how can Vaughn even be a Madam in the first place, when Lucy is the most important thing in her life? The whole story has so many holes and problems for me. But still. I loved Ryker and Vaughn and Lucy. I hated many moments - especially in this 2nd book - but I also really loved them all and the end was adorably perfect.
Maybe this just wasn't my kind of book. It was ridiculous and stupid at times. But pfff - it's supposed to be easy entertainment - and it did entertain me here and there. ☺ Those two books should've been fixed by an amazing editor who would've turned them into one sexy & exciting dramance!
REVEAL was a great finale in this Escort-Lawyer Dramance! Lots of adorable, fun, frustrating, sexy & serious moments! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Ryker - this one is MINE!!! ☺
I kind of sort of jumped into this one without doing any research so I was surprised to start the book and discover the story continued from book one (that I didnt' read) and the characters were already introduced and their romance established. The love story has just hit a big ol' bump on the road to HEA and it's super angsty right from page one!
That being said, I still enjoyed the book. It was way more emotionally heavy than I expected and deals with a lot of intense situations (see Possible Triggers below). But it also has a really touching story of family, trust, finally getting justice and being able to move on and letting go of the past.
Would I recommend? This is book two of a series. I didn't read book one and so I was a bit lost when it came to the underlying plot of blackmail and trying to keep the villians in order was hard but overall an intense read. H was super protective (which I loved) and h was strong (if a little fragile, emotionally).

*4.5 stars* Wow! What a heart pounding, action packed ride this was! After the shocking cliffhanger in Resist, Reveal immediately picks up from there, and the action doesn’t stop until the very end. This book was intense, somewhat exhausting in how many secrets, lies, and mysteries were unraveled. But, seriously, I don’t think my heart stopped racing from the moment I started reading. It really does take you on an incredible ride, and you’re trying to figure out what the heck is happening here. There is no cliffhanger. We get a perfect epilogue to finish this thrilling duet. Can’t recommend it enough!
* I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
So much deception! Secrets, lies, cons, bribes. It was like WTF is going on. Ryker made a HUGE mistake (because for a smart guy, he was dumb AF) so you get lots of groveling. But, even that takes kind of a back seat to the numerous mysteries going on simultaneously! This duet is stunning!
YES YES YES YES YES! Finally! I feel like I have been waiting for years for book two. I freaking loved book one. I read it, I re-read it and I have listened to it on audio, and now finally it's time for book two and after battling my love and HATE relationship with cliffhangers I had come to terms with the fact that I would have to wait, and that was where the re-reading and listening came in, because I wanted to know if I had missed something. Because I NEEDED ANSWERS!!
I will quickly say now if you are into audiobooks... LISTEN TO THE AUDIO!!!
Alright, where do I begin? After being left on that cliffhanger, my heart was breaking... I wanted to lose my shit with the author! This woman has been through enough, so to hear that... I could feel my own heartbreaking. But of course, nothing is as it seems... It never is when it comes to Ms. Bromberg's books... I left the book one. Broken. Asking what the hell we ever did to deserve that? Things were going so well.. AND BOOM
So if you are reading this, and havent read book one... YOU NEED TO, to get an understanding of this story and where it picks back up again.
These characters took hold of my heart so fucking tightly. I hadn't realized how much until I started reading book two and it swallowed me all.
Vaughn is a strong, guarded and has been through enough hell in her life to last a lifetime and like I said about book one, my heart truly broke for this character. As strong as she appeared, her demons were there, and she was battling them daily. But she pushed through, if not for herself then he niece. I want to dive deeper, but I won't spoil this for anyone, especially those that haven't read book one yet. but all you need to know about Vaughn is that she is tough, she is no bullshit and she had always been guarded, up until she met Ryker, and she finally let her walls down...And it quite possibly be the worst mistake she has ever made.
Ryker,... Oh, Ryker... You asshat. You moron. You butthead. You prick. You sexy son of a bitch, I love you... But I literally wanted to reach into this book and slap him upside the head. Ryker is EVERYTHING!! He's an asshole, he's dominant, he's hot as hell, a man who doesn't do relationships. He works as a high profile divorce attorney... That only represents men.. I mean that in itself can tell you how much of a dick he is. He is the type of man that when he wants something, he will get it and will go to great lengths to do so... Which is why what he did at the end of book one had me all twisted out of shape. Maybe it shouldn't have? But... He went through a lot to show Vaughn he wasn't the man he was acting like he was at the end of the book. The nasty things he was saying.. Seriously,... My heart! But like I said before, nothing is ever as it seems when it comes to this authors books.
As we dive into book two, we get to see Rykers POV of what happened... I'll tell you now... The way the author played this out, was perfect! It wasn't long before I was lusting after this character all over again. He is left to redeem himself and explain to Vaughn, why he said the things he said, which isn't easy. We thought these two were getting a HEA earlier one, but... NOPE... Vaughn isn't a woman who forgives and after the things she has been through... I don't blame her, but seeing and understanding it from Rykers POV, I could see why he said what he did, but to Vaughn, it's not justified at all. She is stubborn and doesn't let those walls back down easily. but he does it...
There are so many things I did not see coming in this book/duet. So many things that left me utterly speechless and some that left me wanting to smash my kindle to bits. This book got under my skin but in all the right ways. I love these kinds of romances, I am a sucker for them. I am a sucker for a dominant asshole lead and Ryker certainly filled those shoes and Vaughn? the strong-headed, stubborn woman she is,... I adored her and think she was written in perfectly.
The chemistry and heat between these two continued throughout both books amazingly. The characters personalities played off each other with witty banter, bickering, and all-around sarcastic and funny moments but then add in the serious seasons and the passionate scenes? Then you have this masterpiece.
It was truly EPIC!! Not what I expected when I started reading. The author slayed this!
Reveal is the conclusion of Vaughn and Ryker's story and I think K. Bromberg did a great job with this duet with fantastic writing and a compelling and compelling storyline.
The story begins from where the other book left off and without wanting to go into detail I can only say that it was good to have Ryker's point of view to understand what was going through his mind at that time. This book has more drama, more mysteries, and events than the first. I think while the first book served to show the characters and kick-start the story, it was here that the "action" really happened.
What can I say about the characters? Vaughn pissed me off at times in this book, there were times when I wanted to tell her to stop being so stubborn and accept help, even understanding her motives. And Ryker, is that character who was a jerk at the beginning of the book and made things harder for the heroine, but in my view has been redeemed throughout the book.Together they had a fantastic chemistry and even their relationship going on "fast" K. Bromberg did a great job of making their romance believable and captivating. I loved them together and every page hoped they would finally have their happy ending.
Although I think in the end everything was explained and the story made a full circle I found the ending a bit run and wish I had seen more.
Reveal brings a satisfying ending to this duet by creating a deliciously intriguing and totally addictive storyline.
It was enjoyable. Lots of drama, edge of your seat type of plot moments, but near the end it go to be a bit much. I did enjoy the HEA. It was so sweet on all accounts.
The narrators are fantastic!!! I enjoyed both the female and male voices.
While not my favorite K. Bromberg novel it was still a good book. I would recommend it for sure.
Omgggg I just literally finished this book. First of all you guys need to read RESIST before diving into Reveal since this one is book 2 in the Wicked Ways Duet.
Reveal had me on edge from beginning to end. So much angst, desperation, passion, pain and love. My emotions were all twisted and put to the test. Every time I thought situations were getting solutions and getting to calm down Kristy just BAMB brought a new twist. My heart felt like it was going to get out my chest.
The fights, banter and bickering added to all those twists drove me insane. The continuation of Ryker and Vaughn’s story in Reveal brought mystery and suspense. It was brilliantly done to a point of coming full turn and you don’t see that last twist coming their way. The emotional parts were beautiful and intense. I went from shock to angry to sad in 1.5 seconds. It was a rollercoaster all the way until the end.
There’s characters in here that made me want to crawl inside my kindle and murder them. I wanted to throw my kindle to the wall so many times because, when was enough? When was everything going to be ok for Vaughn, Ryker and Lucy? It was too much but my girl Vaughn is strong and resilient. She is a fighter and wouldn’t let anyone put her down no matter how much they tried. Ryker was incredibly patient, understanding, super protective and loving. This new side of him that even he didn’t knew existed within himself were brought on by the immense love he had for his two girls.
I can’t tell you the story. I can’t spoil this for you guys. Just know it was intense, intriguing, emotional and passionate. Definitely a top favorite read from K. Bromberg.
*** I voluntarily read and review an advance copy of this book.
This is a tough review to write because I loved the first book, but I can’t carry that love with me and allow it to color what happened in the second. That would be unfair, despite how much I like K. Bromberg.
So, this novel literally picks up where book one ends… which is on a pretty dramatic cliffhanger. However, from there it feels like hundreds of pages of angst and miscommunication and failures to launch that were maddeningly frustrating.
This series could have and, more importantly, should have been condensed into ONE novel. There were plot threads, like the one with Joey, which added no value to the story and felt like filler. News flash, this book didn’t need filler. Other plot threads, like the ones with Carter and his wife, and uncle James, were closed but in a way which left them feeling unsatisfying and unrealized. All the while the two protagonists run from here to there, trying to tie up all the loose threads while not solidifying their relationship. A relationship which was supposed to be at the heart of this novel.
I get that this was published independently and that a strong edit would have helped streamline and smooth the wrinkles but I can’t forgive the way this novel veered all over the place, especially since I loved the first book so much.
In the end, the relationship between Ryker and Vaugn never got the chance to flourish in the way I’d hoped since… well… all the other stuff happened, distracting the reader and preventing any real sort of relationship development to take place. It makes me super sad because the writing was fluid and the pacing was stellar. The author simply chose to focus on too many things instead of narrowing it on the more important elements. Like character development. And cohesive storytelling.
I’ll still read K. Bromberg because I love her writing style and she’s obviously talented. Now that she’s been picked up by a big publisher I expect these kinds of things to be tweaked moving forward.
„Most people look for love in the sunrise, when they don’t realize for them it can be found in the sunset.”
Resist left me in such suspense that I was shaking from anticipation just thinking about book two in the Wicked Ways series. But K. Bromberg didn't give me just a conclusion for Vaughn and Ryker’s story... Oh no. She decided to stir even more and thus she brought a book full of tension, unexpected twists and a whole range of feelings.
This book starts where the first one ended, but it’s said from Ryker’s POV. And where Vaughn’s POV made us think about Ryker as the biggest jerk in this world, Reveal quickly explains why he behaved that way. And our outrage quickly turns into admiration. Le sigh! But if you think that a little misunderstanding between our characters is the only thing that needs to be solved, think again. The author put other issues in this story, and let me tell you- the angst is pouring from the pages of this book! All of this was so unexpected that I was literally speechless! There is constant banter between Ryker and Vaughn, but the chemistry and lust is still off the charts! These two could easily set your Kindle on fire.
Reveal is a perfect conclusion to Vaughn and Ryker’s intense story. Filled with many mysteries and lies, it keeps you at the edge of the seat. Many plot twists make you excited. Unrestrained passion makes this book deliciously addicting and Bromberg’s flawless writing is just the cherry on top. Highly recommend!

Before you reach for Reveal book two of Wicked Ways duet, you need to read Resist story first.
I don't know about you all but I was devastated and heartbroken after Kristy Bromberg author dropped heart stopping cliffhanger at the end of Resist book. I couldn't believe and literally hated Ryker for everything he did to Vaughn in previous book. I presumed that there could be a little sham in that situation but come on! How could he?!
Then I was on the pins and needles waiting for the Reveal book and wondering how he will manage this situation. Because let's be real, he screwed up! Big time!! And oh boy! Let me tell you, this was an amazing conclusion of Vaughn and Ryker story. I wasn't even close to what was waiting for me there. If you think that in this part their relationship will be less complicated, you're wrong as I was. There is a long bumpy road ahead for them to get together to the point where two very different people can meet in the middle. Because it's hard to build healthy relationship when there are feelings of anxiety and insecurities involved. When it's hard to give your trust into another person hands. When there are two people who don't believe in relationship and unconditional love. Reveal book brings more suspense to the story, fast pace with twist and turns. I was gasping for breath and trying to keep up with the events in the story. Truly loved this whole range of emotions. Applause to the author for this amazingly awesome story of Wicked Ways duet.
Okay, so if you read my review to book one, Resist, you'll know it ended with a major cliffhanger, that we definitely get to start right back in the middle of. And of course, what happened was really what I figured happened, so in the end, my love for Ryker was saved. But things get even more intense in this sequel as we get more of Vaughn's background story, story that she may not even realize what happened exactly, as her young mind had blocked it out for her. There's only so much I can say in this review so as not to give away anything if you haven't read the first one. But I have to say that the author took this in a direction I totally did not see coming, and the way she did it made it so I didn't have to think anyone was being stubborn unreasonably. In fact, I think the way Vaughn ended up handling things was pretty much the right way. And it wasn't even just the big bad guy that we had to deal with at the end, there was that other side story that I had kind of wondered about along the way. But once again, Bromberg has written a story that is wonderfully deep and intense, sexy and romantic, with great characters and some unique situations. Another book for me to highly recommend!
4.5 Star review of Reveal (Wicked Ways #2) by K Bromberg
Whenever I see the name Kristy Bromberg I know I am in for a great read and Reveal was no exception. This is the conclusion to the Wicked Ways duet, so if you haven’t read Resist, then do not continue, as this book picks up where Resist ends.
From the first to the last chapter, I was riveted to the roller coaster story that Ms. Bromberg wove. I loved the characters of Ryker Lockhart and Vaughn Sanders although at times I wanted to scream in frustration.
There is so much going on in this story with mysteries, secrets, lies and deception. Reveal is an emotional and intense story that had my heart beating so fast whilst sitting on the edge of my seat. An intense, gripping story that sends you on the ride of your life!! To find out what happens, 1 click it, you won't be sorry!
As I have come to expect from her books, this author has delivered strong characters written with depth and an ending that will leave you shaking your head.

This is the conclusion to the duet in the Wicked Ways series, so make sure you read Resist before reading this one.
The ending of Resist had my jaw on the floor, and this book picks up right where it left off.
Vaughn is still trying to get her ducks in a row so she can get Lucy, and Ryker is fighting his emotions about having a relationship.
These two are pretty much a train wreck you can’t look away from the entire time. The twists, turns, surprises keep coming and keep them from truly opening up to one another. I almost feel like some of this was drawn out a little, and they really didn’t get their fair shot due to all the suspense that followed them throughout the book. Even when you thought they were in the clear, something else would pop up.
Even with everything going on, I still loved them together. The love they had for Lucy and the sacrifices they made for each proved that they really care about each other.
