I love a tease but not when I have to come out of my pocket for a few chapters. Ms Lace is one of my faves and the story I've read thus far will be good. It was more like a trailer not the actual movie. Wait on it...
TBH, I haven't finished this. It's 72 pages and I just...Robin, the heroine leaves much to be desired, as well as the overall writing. Robin is 27 but she is, I don't want to say empty-headed, but her internal responses to damn near everything is: it doesn't matter, it's not my business, I don't know. Does she care about anything? I understand not letting the small stuff bother you, but come one, give me something to convince me you're actually alive and feeling. Her boss is the stereotypical jerk. His mother lived in out-of-pocketville, and the drama that ensued felt superficial and manufactured although what happened with Robin and her old supervisor was very serious. The rate in which Robin and Andrew's relationship flipped from boss to impending fck buddies felt jarring. One minute he's rudely ordering her around and the next he's coming on to her. Where was the transition?? Maybe I'll pick it up one day down the road, but it's a DNF for me.
3.5 stars Steamy short story with a charming, tongue-in-cheek heroine and sexy alpha hero. Office setting in the start of a hot love affair, she was the personal assistant and he the CEO. Perhaps a little more story development so that it felt less “on the surface,” but overall fun, entertaining tale.
I was hesitant to read this book at first. But a $1 was worth possible disappointment and the sample was intriguing. Despite a few misspelled or word swaps, the story was highly entertaining. The heroine's line of thought was similar to my quirky mind and had me laughing from time to time. Although this is a cliffhanger, it is still worth purchasing.
I like the hero and heroine even though both are pretty vague when it comes to their descriptions and details about who they are. We know them about as much as they know each other and that's not saying much. Apparently we're going to have to buy more books in order to find out about the dynamics of this couple and I really hate that because I don't do cliffhangers. Oh well.....
So far, so good! Could have been longer! They both needed some work on both characters! The mom sounded idk weird! I can have some black grandkids! Ma'ma, they will be mixed 😮💨😮💨😮💨
The story felt rushed like how you go from being a really huge jetk to being like, yup! I'm going to sleep with you!! Atleast build it up a little guh darn!! But altogether a nice little fast read! If the other parts on KU if not oh well, Won't sweat to much over it! Cute little over-rated love story!.
I am not a fan of short series. This is only part one. I liked it even though boss man was a complete jerk. I like his mom even though she was a bit much. If it comes out soon I might read part 2. If I read a series it better have longer stories and rate a 4 or better.
The movement of thr story was off for me. She got mad at the first guy asking to see her titties but when the big boss asked she was ok with it. I don't know that bothered me. I hate when the book was in her point of view and then randomly switch in his point if view in chapter 8. Oh and they have no chemistry
I enjoyed this book. The book had a interesting storyline. But it is a cliffhanger and I really do not care for cliffhangers. The story was interesting enough to make you want to find out what happens next. I do recommend it to my fellow romance readers. There is spice and a little drama.
So I picked this book up on a whim. I was hoping for more but preparing for worse and far less. At this point it’s So So. I’m not overly impressed but I’m still hanging on enough to be interested (if only slightly) in the next book. For now we’ll give it 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ and hope the next book is better.
I truly wanted to love this, but... Andrew is arrogant and entitled, and Robin is ghetto-adjacent, a bit trashy, and the epitome of if "so smart she's stupid" was a person. There is no discernible love or connection or respect between these two. Then there are the noticeable proofing/editing fails. SIGH.
This was goooooood! I really enjoyed it! Not long and drawn out. I liked the vulnerability of the male character. He wasn't a constant hard ass. It was nice to see that it was all new to him too. Awesome job!
This book spoke to me on a different level. Straight forward, in your face blunt. No playing around, just straight to the point sexual enjoyment. I couldn't put this book down. No derogatory language, just two people enjoying themselves. I have to purchase part II.
I really enjoyed this book even though it was short. The main character was funnh, loved her confidence. Her undisturbed out to be not so bad. Of course, there was the obligatory asswipe ex -supervisor.
Meh. Nothing redeeming about this. I have read several books by this author that were good reads and that I enjoyed. This was disappointing. Poor story development. Idiotic sentences and dialogue. Bad grammar.
I've had this book in my Kindle for quite sometime and realized I never read it...glad I did, I truly enjoyed it. I loved Robin's smart mouth and Andrew seems to be able to deal with it. I look forward to reading more. Well Done Ms. Lace!!
This novella had a lot of potential but the pace the story just didn’t work for me. I just want to rewrite the story to make it make sense. However I appreciate the Chicagoland references.
I really enjoyed this book. it was so much fun. if you like a good work place, grumpy/sunshine book, youll love this!! the spicy scene reminded me of the movie "secretary" lol
