Mysterious Ways

Rate this book
An arsonist is loose in their town. Two buildings burned. They have to find him. Stop him.

Nicole Roman is on a quest to track down her brother. She believes he’s reverted back to his pyromaniac tendencies and she is determined to find him, before someone gets hurt. It’s been eight months with no success. Deciding the town’s pastor could give her some confidential guidance, she goes to the church.

Pastor Scott Davidson is willing and able to give her the advice and support she needs. But he will have to reign in his attraction to the delightful lady. She needs assistance, not some guy lusting after her.

Nicole decides to trust the hunky pastor-slash-volunteer firefighter. Scott is her best chance to find her brother and get him the help he needs.

Scott promises to help, but his reason is very different than Nicole’s. This fire bug needs to be found and stopped at all costs. Even the chance for a relationship with the lovely Nicole.

I started writing late in life. I've always been a reader, devouring Nancy Drew books in grade school right on through to today. But writing is new to me and I am having a blast.

I have four series, all small town contemporary romance.

My Lake Chelan series is centered around a remote town in eastern Washington and all the challenges and shenanigans that go on there. Many of the characters in that series are volunteer firefighters. My father was a volunteer firefighter and walking into a station still smells like home to me. So I am having a lot of fun incorporating my memories into new stories.

My Burlap and Barbed Wire series at this point is Colorado Cowboys all from one family of cattle ranchers living in the Rocky Mountains at the base of Rocky Mountain National Park. Writing a family of siblings finding love has been a lot of fun.

My Saddles and Secrets series code named Wyoming Wranglers is focused on a rescue ranch for geriatric horses. Someone is causing problems and the local sheriff dept. is trying to find the culprit.

My Helluva Engineer series is a nod to my alma mater. The mineral engineers journey across the mountains to help find the gold mine that has recently started contaminating the Rockin' K ranch. Why it's started having poisonous runoff after two hundred years of dormancy, is the real question.

All my books are stand alone so you don't have to read them all or even in order, although it might be more fun to do so.

Join with me as I tell my stories, weaving real tidbits from my life in with imaginary ones. You'll have to guess which is which. It will be a hoot!

I thought that this book was very enjoyable. I liked Nicole and Scott. I felt that it was easy to feel their pull of attreactionand the chemistry that zinged between them. The plot was engaged and kept me interested. I always appreciate a book that relies heavily on emotion and this one certainly fit this criteria. As love and desire battle with the need to protect and the need to do what is right, you will be swept into this entertaining small town romance. This is my honest, voluntary review.

Have A Little Faith

Lake Chelan seems to be a blessed place!

When Nicole arrived at the town's local church looking for her brother, she never imagined she'd feel so much heat 🔥towards the church Pastor, Scott. And dear I'm Pastor Scott seems to be under Nicole's spell as well.

Apparently, divine intervention had Nicole chasing her brother into town, no job, no shelter, nothing. But this man of the cloth offers her a perfect solution, but it leaves him wanting things he'd long put to rest. But Nicole affixed herself to the town and Scott. But her brother may be her downfall.

Penick have us a real, valid couple. She was able to make the couple relatable, dealing with love, lust, and personal problems. She gave us a glimpse of how couples of faith have human emotions and physical reactions. A journey of faith and love.

If you're in the mood for a sweet love story...read on!

This is the sixth book in this series, and is Nicole and Scott’s story. Nicole comes into town to track down her brother, and get him the help he needs before it is too late. Scott is a Pastor / volunteer fire-fighter, and he offers to help Nicole, and they have an undeniable attraction between them. This is a well written story which had me hooked and intrigued throughout. I look forward to reading more from this talented author, whose work I recommend for all.

Soul Filling Entertainment. The story of Nicole Roman and Scott Davidson is my favorite Lake Chelan Novel to date. Nicole comes to Lake Chelan in search of her brother. The first place she seeks help is at the church where she meets Pastor Scott Davidson. While helping Nicole and falling for Scott sees flaws and cockiness he didn't realize he had. What an uplifting story. I really wish everyone would read this book and Series.

Nicole is searching for her brother Kent after following the news she thinks she may have a lead.
Scott can’t believe his luck when Nicole enters the church can he help her? A moving story of a community pulling together.

Nicole has a problem her brother he is missing and sh is on his trail but losses him. Desperate and down to her last dime she sees a church and knows that she needs help so she goes in to talk to the pastor Scott whom looks nothing like a preacher he is young and very attractive they both feel an instant attraction.

Scott is not the stereotypical preacher he plays pool, he’s young and he also needs a secretary on short notice after his went away to see the world with her new beau so he offers Nicole the job which makes it even harder not to fall for each other, with Nicole’s brother facing charges in another state, she is torn her brother is her only family, but she is starting to love the small town and its residents, especially one particular pastor. This story is a clean romance but it doesn’t take away from the story. You still saw how much Scott and Nicole cared for each other.
I would read this story again.

A great story for television.

This was the best book of all. Scott and Nicole are the lead characters. There were lots of great characters in this book. I finally learned the size of Lake Chelan. The stories within this story were just great. Enjoy.

The worst part is that I am done with this series now. I loved this book. The town is filled with such nice people and it makes me wonder if I could be accepted too. The relationship in this one is "sweeter" than the other books in the series as it is about a pastor and a girl. The connections, the descriptions about how each is dealing helped the book be really good. Would be four stars, but there was a few disconnects in my mind while reading - but nothing that takes away from the good story.
