Well.. I didn't see this story heading this way exactly.. It was still a pretty fast and entertaining read but yea kind of cold cocked me I think. This book picks up right where book 1 leaves off.
Madi is basically alone in a school taken over by the dark tales led by her ex boyfriends uncle. As Madi sleuths trying to find information about what the "king" of the dark tales is after, the Tale boys are hidden in Knox's dimension. All but Sin that is.. /cry. As Madi learns more about her powers against her will, she also grows closer to her gaurd Warren. (I am totally team Warren! just fyi) and Quinn moves on pretty quickly lol. Madi's '"raven powers" bring visions of the past and the truth of the Goddesses. The king plans to kill them and steal their powers but Madi has her own plans.. plans where she never looses any of her guys and Sin doesn't ever leave her....
I mean its still super fast paced but still entertaining. I'm excited to see what happens next and what the point of this prophecy etc actually was.

I looked forward to this sequel to Tales & Time so much! The dark tales have taken over the academy and the students are stuck there while under Quinton’s evil uncle’s rule. There wasn’t as much interactions between Madi and the guys as I would’ve liked however we do have a new possible harem character! In my previous review for book 1 I mentioned that I didn’t have a favorite guy in Madi’s harem well…now I do! And it’s the new guy, Warren (: Also Quinton isn’t in Madi’s harem, he actually is gonna end up with her friend, Tavvy. I actually was a bit put off by this because Madi and Quin were together before and now he’s with her best friend. Maybe it’s because I’d have an issue with that in real life if my best friend did that to me lol. But other than that I enjoyed the book and I can’t wait for more Warren! I need more moments of Madi and Warren together.

Fun & engaging read - Needs editing!
I'm thoroughly enjoying this series and eagerly look forward to the next book!!! There's plenty of plot and character development, which keeps me engaged.
There are a few issues I have with Bailey's works.
1. Editing - Bailey's sentence structure often reads likes how a person thinks, not how they speak. If an editor were to spend some time rephrasing sentences, deleting excess words, and tightening up a handful of grammatical errors, it would VASTLY improve the quality of the story.
2. Sometimes the dialog is too elementary or middle school. It could be saucier and snarkier. The characters lack that feeling of superiority and entitlement, which is often associated with high school teens.
3. Sex - the first couple sex scenes in the series were good, but after that they all look and feel the same - lots of gazing into eyes, kissing, then everyone is dropping drawers and coming. What's missing??? The build up and variety. The traumatic moment, which is resolved by sharing I LOVE YOU'S, immediately followed by very vanilla sex... Isn't cutting it. Perhaps The heroine can play the siren a little, or the brothers can play with her together, or one can watch, maybe Sin in his ghostly form can add some dirty talk while Warren seduces/ is seduced?? And how about something besides missionary?
Just some food for thought!!!

Tales & Dreams is the second book in the Lost Time Academy series and starts off right where G. Bailey left us in Tales & Time. This story sees Madi, the Tale brothers and Quin in an action packed story, with dark tales being a larger focus this time round.
There’s deep emotions, fear and revenge to be had, as your sucked into this world and fantastic characters (there’s definitely a new favourite with Warren). It’s wonderful to read this style of academy and fairy tale story, which in a way reminds me of Disney’s Descendants.
I’m looking forward to more fairy tale adventures, as this reverse harem story continues with Tales & Darkness.

What an Ending!!
We pick back up with Sin dead and the dark takes taking over the Academy. This comes with lots of surprises and twists that will blow your mind. Just when you think it can't get any better you reach the ending which left me speechless wishing the next book was already here. A fantastic twist on fairy tales that will keep you hooked. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

Super awesome read! Not something you can easily put down! Character development is wonderful, with so much to keep you sucked in. When you feel the emotions of the characters, you know this is a great story line.

Book 2 was fantastic! Picks up immediately after book 1 finishes. It’s heart tearing and difficult, frustrating but full of hope. Loved the ending and can’t wait for book 3.

I like the idea of the storyline a lot but if I’m being honest the work itself is poorly written. The characters feel flat and the storyline comes across as rushed. It makes out that everyone is going to fall in love with Madi because she’s incredibly special however she hasn’t really done anything to deserve the devotion she seems to obtain. Moreover, her interactions seem to be very shallow/ the characters speech is also very disjointed; they don’t talk like people would in real life with the speech patterns coming across as overly formal at times. Overall the writing lacks depth and although the storyline is good it’s also rather predictable.

I am seriously wondering about average rating of the book.I can get behind the initial idea of this story but it's delivery is childish at best and idiotic at worst.

tale as old as time, trope as overused as rhyme, please try harder next time. ahaha That sounded less mean in my head. Just that this was very predictable, needed more fleshing out and sadly was disappointing to read. however, still a interesting use of classical fairytale

Madi!
This book is spectacular. I found myself flipping through it to get to the end. I couldn't stop reading. Even now as I write this I am hoping to begin the next book right away. I fell in love with Madi. She is so strong in this book. She is assured of her powers and her strength now. She was also vulnerable and beautiful in this book. At the end of the first book, things are up in the air. One of her boyfriends die and it's because of her ex-boyfriend Quentin. I loved the pacing of the book. We find out that the dark tales aren't playing any games. They are savage and deadly. Especially the king. I am looking forward to more backstory there. I am intrigued to figure out why his subjects as so enamored with him. They don't follow him out of fear. They seem to love and respect him. I also want to know more about Quentin killing people to prove his loyalty. We got to see another side of him this book. Well, actually all of the guys. But Quentin arc grew the most and went in different directions. I was rooting for him, but he did have me feeling some type a way about his choices. He is still holding a lot of secrets to his chest. I'm wondering how the Uncle is going to retaliate?? Also, Warren holds a lot of mystery. I still haven't decided what his true intent is. I can't get past the trickster qualities of his bloodline. I hope he doesn't betray Madi in the end. I also REALLY want them to work. I feel like it's Sin's destiny to die so he might end up dying again. I loved the plot twist that the good goddess presented. Really amazing book. East read. Good descriptive illustrations. I felt like I could visualize the portal. I could visualize the fighting. Great book and series.

So my review is on the whole series as a whole and not on each separate book.
I usually love G. Bailey’s series. They are always fast paced and quick to read but usually very well written. When people ask for RH recommendations, she is usually one of the first names I give.
So I’m sad to say I did not love this series. 😞
It did not flow well, felt very rushed and was very disjointed.
I did not fall in love with any of the characters, they had absolutely no depth to them. They were all ehhh and blah. The dialogue was just weird. And it all felt very rushed.
I did not like how the Quin thing worked out. She was heart broken to leave him and kept talking about how much she loved him. Then all of a sudden, he was just a friend she thought she had loved but didn’t have those feelings for? Huh? She broke rules to talk to him and tried so hard to get to him and boom just decided ehhh I don’t love him, I was wrong. What?!? And then a random guy appears and insta love.
There were also a lot of random time jumps. Like in one of the books, she has sex with one of the guys and then it’s over and something else is going on and it’s 4 weeks later all within a page or two and you were kinda given whiplash like what just happened.
There were also some weird sayings in this series like “I never have done, and I never will do”. That is said multiple times in the series. Not sure if it’s cause I’m American but that is not something I have ever read or said. We’re more apt to say “I have never done that and I never will” or something similar.
I also didn’t care for the big battle. That was a let down.
The ending and epilogue were also disappointing.
If you are new to G. Bailey definitely go read a different series of hers and just skip this one.

As I’ve said before I fell in love with this series since it’s inception in the anthology box set and so glad that G. Bailey had made it into a series.
The length of the book isn’t particularly long and it has quite a quick pace so I always feel like the ending comes so soon and I get frustrated that it’s finish and have to wait for the next one.
I fell in love with the concept of this storyline because I don’t think I’ve really come across anything quite like it, other than watching “Once upon a time”, and continue to enjoy it. I particularly liked the plot twist in this instalment. And I wouldn’t say that it ended with a cliffhanger but at a good point for the book.
I’m in love with Warren, he’s now my favourite book boyfriend. He has that quiet sensitive persona. I will say the only reason why this wasn’t a 4 star rating was because it was quite easy to read between the lines for the majority of the book. I generally like to be kept guessing and I also like much more stubborn conflict but felt this might have missed some opportunities there, but hey I’m not the author and I would never dictate how a book should be written, only know what I like.

I will not lie but I was nervous that this book was going to just stab my heart over and over, but G. Bailey did not disappoint and I have faith in the world again. I love G. Bailey!! She knows how to put you through an emotional ringer but have hope in the end. I was so heart broken at the end of book one when Sin died and I literally thought we were going to be without him completely, but his soul stayed with Madi and then they had a plan to get him back but when they met the goddess in the end and she said she can not bring people back from the dead my hope that had been building had been dashed and then she said she could send them all back in time to the moment before he died I just about cried out loud with happiness. Sorry not sorry for the spoiler but THEY SAVE SIN!!!! My heart is whole again with the Tale brothers and the addition of another...
Oh Warren Nightshade (fans self), I am so looking forward to getting to know you better, and yes your scar is hot.

Lost Time Academy has been taken over by the Dark Tales, and it's up to Madi and her friends to take it back. Torn apart by Quinton's betrayal and Sin's death, Madi is distraught and more than anything angry. She is determined to kill the Dark Tales' king and Quin's uncle: Rueben Frostan.
In this book we are introduced to some new characters. I really like Warren, who begins this book as Madi's Dark Tale guard. At first I was a little disappointed that Quinton was no longer a part of Madi's harem, but it definitely ends up for the best. I really hope Warren works out as a new potential harem member! I also liked Ella in this book. After losing her family and friend to the Dark Tales she is able to put aside her snark and animosity towards Madi for the better.

I really like the premise of this series, Fairy Tales are real and there are decedents of the original, and that is who the story is about. I liked it enough that I read this second book, and will more than likely read book 3, but there are some problems. While Ms Bailey does a good job of painting pictures with her words and using various descriptions (I hate when characters only "smirk" or similar), there are holes in the story telling. Perhaps I'm just an older reader who is extremely detail oriented and this is better suited to a younger more casual reader. I don't feel or really understand why there are the emotional levels between the main characters, other than it's needed for the story. Growing up together is fairly weak, especially when you're separated at age 14 or so, and I don't buy that true lifelong love is stumbled upon at age 8.
If you want to pass the time and don't care about the details, this will do nicely.

Potential again but...
I really wanted to like this story- I like academy styled RH stories and the added bonus of fairytales. However this was so poorly executed, it was quite the chore to finish it really. There were minor editing areas that needed fixing, but mainly it was the predictability of everything that was the worst. I literally knew what the twists would be and nothing was a wow for me. There was little to no character development- even the main characters were all cookie cutter 2D personas. I liked the addition of Warren then that fizzled out. Sin’s soul showing up ad potential then that too fizzled out. Super choppy. There was some world development, but again minor. There was mainly just info dumping to get us all caught up with the FMC. I was so lost on the chemistry since we picked up where they left off in their budding romance before the guys left. I hardly saw anything that would rate falling in love with each other even Warren. It was too close to insta-love for me.

Wow!!! What an exciting and entertaining book!! I just adore fairytales and this series has been utterly mesmerizing! There have certainly been plenty of frightening moments of uncertainty but also some that make your heart soar and take flight. Madi is only seventeen and yet she just may be the key to saving her people. I love that while there are clearly bad and good tales, the characters have mixes of both qualities running through them. I fell a bit in love with Madi's new guard and I can't wait to see how the Tale brothers react to him. Fairytales should absolutely frighten you, but also make you sigh. This most definitely carries out its duty beautifully. I cannot wait to see just what will happen in the next book! I absolutely love Ms. Bailey 💗💗💗 She is very much so a clever plotter who weaves very magical tales!!

Again, like the review of the book before this in the series, surpringly good, so short though. Everything could've been stretched out a bit without overshadowing most of the plot but added to the experience. It feels super artifical like just just scratching the surface of a wonderful fantasy story. I will also add that I loved Warren so much, I dont know if its because his story line seemed more organic compared to the Tale brothers... who were just dropped on us in the first book and were really given nothing as far as who they are themselves (as opposed to who they are to Madi which is all we know about them basically). The Tale brothers defintely feel flat as far as characters though, even more so in this book I think. A little disappointed in the shortness, however the ending was actually decent! Cant wait to read the next book!

The last book broke my heart. This one started to put it back together again, although I am really curious to see how the rest of the story plays out. Madi has not had an easy time. Everything has changed with the death of Sin and she struggles with how to deal with that crushing blow and the one of the reappearance of her ex-boyfriend. However, with the help of said ex, the remaining Tale brothers and an unexpected ally, Madi is able to deal with the challenges before her. I love how she shows so many different sides of her personality in this book. She shows her strength and weakness at the same time, but her love for her guys grows deeper as their bond becomes stronger. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

That ending!!
What a spectacular story, I could not get enough of this book and in fact read it in one sitting.
Madi is such an awesome character, she is a super badass chick with the coolest powers and some delicious guys to boot.
We get to see more of their relationship in this book and the precious one on one moments with the guys totally made me swoon.
I gotta say that Warren is seriously my favourite character in this book! He is mysterious, drool worthy, broody and also sweet and protective - he is the perfect complement for Madi and her harem.
The plot and plot twists in this story are epic.
I can't wait to see what happens with this ending because what a cliffhanger that was, Gem I am sure you are evil chuckling over this as we all read it.

I can't wait to see what happens with this ending because what a cliffhanger that was, Gem I am sure you are evil chuckling over this as we all read it.

Looooooved it so much
Tragedy has struck and to make things worst, the Dark Tales have taken over the Academy. Madi, her friends, and the Tale brothers must figure out a way to stop the leader of the Dark Tales from the destruction he has planned because boy it isn’t good.
This book really establishes Madi’s relationship with the Tale brothers and I really enjoyed seeing their connections grow and solidify. We also see old and new friendships form. We also get the feeling that the Dark Tales aren’t really what we have been led to believe they are. Enter an additional love interest - woohoo!
All together it was another fantastic read from G. Bailey and I couldn’t be happier. I really loved the ending to this book and I am very excited for book 3!

Author G. Bailey brings us the continuing adventures of Madi and her friends as the Lost Time academy comes under the control of the Dark Tales. Madi his heartbroken at the beginning because one of the tales brothers has been killed before her eyes. She and Tavvy along with their friend Ella are imprisoned in the Academy itself thanks to the Dark Tales. The leader of the dark tales is the uncle of one of Madi's friends from childhood whom wants the power of the goddess that created their world for himself. He use's Madi to look into the past to where they might be but on their second attempt they learn and it's up to Madi and her friends to save their world. I highly recommend this novella to all Fantasy fans. I'm looking forward to reading the last book in this trilogy.

Oh my, I honestly think this book was better than the 1st book. Gem has out done herself with this series! The storyline continues with sadness, grief, passion, and love. Not only does Madi experience all of that, but so does everyone other character in the story. I cried mostly though the first half of the book. There are twists I didn't see coming, but I'm so delighted that it happened. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

The descendants of fairytale characters join together in a war against the dark tales. It's hard to know who to trust when unsure if all the stories ever told are as real as they say. One thing is for certain, no one can get in the way of love...
This series is truly amazing and worth reading. This YA series hooks you from the start. When I realized the second book was out, I had to get it. I have been thinking about this story since I finished the first book. It did not disappoint, though it was strange to see the turn of events in the relationship between Madi and Quin.
I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!

I was really enjoying this series. Neat story. In the first book, Madi likes 4 brothers. I think ok that's fine she grew up with them, she'll pick one she really likes and they will become a thing, no biggie. By the end of the 1st book I believed she had chosen her love. 2nd book she has passionately given herself to all 4 brothers and immediately falls in love with another guy as well. What the heck??? I just couldn't continue after the 2nd love scene and "I love you's". I'm done. It's sickening and to much, let alone just wrong. Now I'm ticked off. I won't be finishing the rest of the series.
