You guys, I finally finished this book. Took me long enough, didn’t it? Definitely pretty epic. I may or may not have cried (don’t look at me with that judgy look, you know you cried too). Solid 4.5 star read. Loved this series. Though it doesn’t beat Beyonders. That still stands as my favorite Mull series.
Updates pre-release: How in the WOLRD am I supposed to wait until Fall 2017? That's still a YEAR away! *Sobs and runs to freezer to grab the ice cream*
UPDATE: WE. HAVE. A. COVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I literally just screamed when I saw that. This definitely needs some inspection. Also that title. TIME. JUMPERS. I have an awesome feeling that this book WILL. BE. EPIC.
UPDATE 2: ARE YOU HECKING KIDDING ME IT GOT PUSHED BACK AGAIN WHY MUST I WAIT SIX MORE MONTHS UNTIL THE END *sobbing in the distance*
UPDATE 3: Ok, so far Goodreads and Amazon tells me it will be out in a week. But Brandon Mull hasn't released any info on tour, signings, or even added the book to either his Facebook or his website. So should I start rereading the first four??? Do I need to suffer for another 6 months??? Idk man. Idk.
i really liked this book and the plot. i felt as if this book moved at an extremely fast pace and how Cole could energize Violet, a Wayminder, (a Wayminder can open wayports to other places and if you go through the wayport, you end up at that place) so that she could open many wayports after a short period of time with no rest. it kinda felt like this was used as a crutch to let them go to different places really quickly because they had to do it a lot, but like i said right before lmao they did it a lot and somehow it got annoying to read. the fact how Cole literally had an unlimited supply of energy and could energize multiple people at the same time with lots of energy was just really excessive and improbable.
despite this stuff i really liked the plot and how everything turned out in the end. there were plently of plot twists and suspense-filled moments that made me want to keep reading. i liked how time was incorporated into this story and played a big part.
the ending was bittersweet because he finally got what he wanted; to go home, but in the end he forgot about the Outskirts. tbh i really liked the Outskirts and the stuff people could do there and i wanted him to stay there lmao. really obvious from the beginning how it would turn out but definitely still interesting to read how it happened.
This is the 5th and finale book in the Five Kingdoms series. I have been blown away by the imagination throughout this series. It has been some of the most unique ideas I have seen in a long time. Brandon Mull is quite amazing.
I am not really a fan of time traveling. Brandon uses time in a different way with rules that made it interesting and I actually enjoyed it. This 5th Kingdom is about about jumping around in space and going back in time. The rules he uses make it plausible and fun at the same time.
Cole is able to travel with a wayminder and they go back to all the characters and places we have seen in the past series. All the good characters go back and the beginning of the series became important in winning the day here.
This is great fantasy and anyone who enjoys fantasy should find this a great read. It is quick and well written. It has a fast paced and almost feels a little rushed.
The ending answers questions we have had from the beginning. It was satisfying.
I am a little sad there will be nothing new from this series. It has been amazing. Plus, I was actually able to read this as a book as I'm on break. That was nice.
This book is brilliant! We follow Cole as he tries to defeat an enemy who threatens the Outskirts while finding his friends who've been kidnapped and a way home. Brandon Mull is a genius with words, and messing with people's minds, especially mine! For any of you who like middle-grade fantasy reads, you'll be sure to enjoy this!
What an excellent way to end a series! This might have been one of my favorite endings by Brandon Mull and I have only finished his 2 other series to date. It wrapped up so nicely. I don't feel like there were many if any loose ends not tied up. I would say the only thing I wish could have been better was the final kingdom. The kingdoms and the world in this series were by far my favorite aspects of this series and I felt just a little underwhelmed when it came to the fifth and final kingdom. We never spent a whole lot of time there, so it never felt fleshed out. Other then that this series was so so much fun and exhilarating. That Epilogue was PERFECT, warmed my heart and hit me all in my feels!! Way to go Brandon Mull!
Sky Raiders-5/5 Rogue Knight-5/5 Crystal Keepers-5/5 Death Weavers-5/5 Time Jumpers-5/5
This was a great conclusion to this series, and totally worth the wait. I had given the 1st 2 books in this series 5 stars, but the 3rd & 4th books were not as good (IMO). Then having to wait 2 years for this final book?? I wasn't sure I would even continue the series. But I am so glad I did.
I think it's time to go back and re-read the entire series. My opinion of the 4th book (my lowest rated with only 3 stars) might change. But this book was a great conclusion!
What an amazing way to end a series! I sure will miss Cole, Mira, Jace, Hunter, Dalton, Twitch and even the newest character Violet! This book drew me in from the first pages and wouldn’t let go till the very end! There were many twists and turns throughout! It was interesting to see Cole come into his own and be the hero he never thought he’d be! His humility is what makes him a great unsung hero! We need more young men in the world like Cole! Brandon Mull will continue to be one of my favorite author, one that I recommend to all my young readers! Excellent job!
This book fell flat for me. I don't know if it was the reader or the writing. I felt talked down to in a way I don't remember in the earlier books. (Part of this may have been the several month break we took between the other books and this one.) It felt like it was written the way some adults talk to children with the belief they have less capacity for learning. My kids enjoyed it fine. I was disappointed. The story does wrap up nicely though.
Great book, took me 8 months to get it, but it was so worth it. lot of suspense, and unexpected surprises. Cole got his power to work again, and it made the book really interesting to see how his powers could defeat Ramorro.
This was probably my favorite book in the series. The author did a good job at tying ends together. Cole had to make a lot of tough choices like we all have to do at times. I really liked new characters that were introduced. I like the theme that there can be hope even in the darkest of times.
Time Jumpers by Brandon Mull is the fifth book in the series Five Kingdoms. It is about a boy named Cole who was taken from earth into a different world, and all he wants is to get back home. He discovers he has a rare ability, and with the help of his friends, he wants to try to get back home. During the story, Cole and his other friends have to track down the last princess and stop the toriver Ramarro from breaking free and destroying the world. No one thinks it’s really possible to stop a torivor, but with Cole's unique power to lend those around him power, a small chance remains to save the five kingdoms.
One theme found in the story is “Never giving up, even if something may seem impossible.” This can be seen throughout almost the whole story based on Cole’s decisions. You can really see his development from the beginning to the end of the series. Although it seems almost impossible to defeat Ramarro, nothing will stop Cole from trying. He travels around all of the five kingdoms in an effort to save the outskirts. Because of this not only is Cole motivated, but his friends are as well giving them a better chance in the outcome. That is why “Never giving up, even if something may seem impossible,” is a theme in the story Time Jumpers.
Great elements of fantasy quest tales coalesce in this series finale-a nearly unbeatable foe, no conceivable way home again, cool magic-but the story's momentum is too often interrupted. The story starts out promising, but becomes slow and the plot gets confusing at some parts. It introduces the new concepts well, and overall is a very good book. The series finale loses momentum but ends in heroic flourish. Big-hearted Cole really brings the story home with his selfless heroism.
It was definitely better than Death Weavers, but still wasn't Mull's best book. The climax was not nearly as dramatic as it should've been, too many excuses made for Cole to be the one to do ANYTHING important, it felt too rushed, and finally, the ending left me just... "WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME BRANDON MULL!!" I still loved the book though, it made everything seem hopeless and then good triumphed, it's just not Mull's best.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR MARCH FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A wonderful conclusion to this series! My kids have loved this as well and although the epilogue has a touch of sadness to it, I can't complain about how everything worked out in this magical realm.
The end game is here. The battles have waged through four of the kingdoms and has now found its way to the final battle ground - Creon. And the real enemy is ahead...an enemy that may not be overcome...an enemy that Cole and his friends may only defeat by sacrifices that come with the highest costs that could affect multiple worlds.
This is it. This is the final book in the FIVE KINGDOMS series by the always amazing Brandon Mull. Through out the series, Mull has juggled multiple story threads and wove an incredible journey that takes the reader through several of the fundamental genres of story types bound up into a 5 book epic adventure.
Mull has perfected the art of story telling to young and middle grade readers. Having said that, as an "Older" reader, I can truthfully say that I enjoyed the ride along and found myself drawn into the trials and tribulations of the five lost princesses...a world crafted from magic and power...and the fears and joys of young characters taken out of their world and thrown into a universe not of their own.
My 10 year old grand son has found my joy of reading and I plan on passing this fun and exciting set of books to him so that another generation of readers can find the way to another adventure..
Świetny tom i świetne zakończenie przygody ❤️.
A satisfying finale to the Five Kingdoms saga! Though at times a bit hard to follow, Time Jumpers rounds out character arcs, answers questions, and gives cohesion and continuity to prior books. The story’s emotional, highlighting the wear and cost of courage, and bittersweet reality that even in triumph, there is often also sorrow. It’s a story that inspires one to heroism and sacrifice, be you child or adult, and that if we can courageously aspire in the face darkness to “die bravely,” well, we just might live that way too.
