I chose this book because I love nature. It was a good story, beautiful, descriptive scenes of the NC marsh lands and creatures that survive and thrive in that world. Kya story is amazing. I teared up in parts and my heart broke for her in others. I appreciated the various characters and the life she ultimately created for herself. The ending was not an entire surprise, however gave me more to think through and reflect upon. It would be a great read for a book club discussion.

Listened on Audible.
Mostly 2.5 stars, the beginning was hard but it improved in the end.
