Increíble.

Estamos en un punto del manga donde todo comienza a encajar de una manera increíble, al mismo que tiempo que nos la vuelven a jugar con decenas de plot twists imprevisibles y tramas que no dejan de sorprender.
¿Quién nos iba a decir que Norman seguiría vivo? Algo en mi interior me decía que algo con él iba a suceder, que no se lo iban a quitar de en medio tan fácil... Y la manera en la que lo hacen me parece simplemente maravillosa.
Además, por fin comenzamos a entender verdaderamente el universo de The Promised Neverland. Y es verdad que lo digo en casi todos los tomos, pero en este es William Minerva quien finalmente nos cuenta más detalles. ¡Por fin conocemos sus intenciones! ¿O no?
Todo en este tomo lo hace impredecible, único y espectacular. Volvemos a los inicios respecto a la trama, llena de giros, con planes al detalle y jugando con el lector y con los personajes. El mejor tomo de todos con diferencia, y aún quedan unos cuantos. Esto solo va a mejor.

WONDERFUL. I love how smart and skillful these characters are. Most exciting arc since the escape from Gracefield house. The artwork is outstanding as well.

Toujours aussi entraînant ! Si certains des personnages me manquent (on les voit moins et c'est dommage)on avance beaucoup dans l'intrigue (je trouve). On a aussi et surtout des révélations de foufouuuu ! Vivement la suite !

Dos enormes revelaciones en este volumen. No lean si no quieren saber nada. Repito, alerta de spoiler.
Finalmente descubrimos la verdadera identidad del señor Minerva. Pero esa revelación no cambia nada sustancial para los personajes, porque Minerva murió- o bien se escondió, no sabemos-quince años atrás. Toda su información quedó desactualizada. Pero ya entendemos cómo logró pasar sus pistas de contrabando y al mismo tiempo, nos han presentado a quien creo, puede llegar a ser el gran villano de esta historia.
La otra revelación-que Norman está vivo y es un sujeto de pruebas en una suerte de granja experimental donde hacen pruebas brutales con seres humanos-no me resulta tan sorprendente: es una regla universal de la literatura: si no vemos a un personaje importante morir, es muy probable que no esté muerto.
En el ínterin, los niños del coto de caza ponen en marcha su rebelión. Como suele suceder, compensan su enorme falta de recursos y fuerza y vencen a varios de sus rivales aprovechándose de su arrogancia y exceso de confianza. Personalmente, espero que maten a todos y cada uno de los demonios, pero no creo que Leuvis sea tan sencillo como los demás.
Leo cada volumen de manera frenética: tenía la esperanza de que me duraran un poco más, pero bueno... me gana la ansiedad.

Truths revealed and battles to wage!
This book is full of action and information as Emma and Lucas make their way down to a room previously inaccessible due to a lack of one of Mr. Minerva's pens. Within a treasury of information can be found and with it not only the identity of Mr. Minerva but we get to see how he was involved with the monster/human agreements as well as at least one person he used to work with. In this connection the fate of Norman is hinted at and exposed to we readers before we return to the hunting grounds to see the children are no longer going to allow monsters to hunt them anymore whether they are nobles or not. There will be blood.

Wow, I flew through this volume!
So yay Minerva was helping the kids and was betrayed thus turning the playground into a secret hunting spot. Okay um YAY ABOUT THE EXPERIMENTAL FARM!! I knew Norman was alive, I thought maybe he'd be working for the good humans. When Adam was chanting 22914, I thought maybe Adam was Norman?? They know nothing about Adam, but somehow know his name? But then the cut scene of Norman at the lab made it seem that Adam had seen Norman and memorized his number. The placement felt odd, because we just got that awesome reveal, then we cut to them getting ready to battle the poachers. Would have been nice to have him mumble the numbers and Emma recognize the number and then have a hope for Norman, revealing the truth later.
Also it bugs me that so many of the kids were 14/15 when they escaped or were shipped off? Do the other houses not have the shipped by 12 rule? A silly thing to get fixated on, but here we are.
I want to give it 5 stars, especially for the new farm and Norman reveal. And the backstory on Minerva... but it was so disjointed after that. The kids wanted to destroy the place anyways, so it's not like this information was inspiration to leave. Plus the Norman stuff was for the readers only.

I've been reading TPN since it was barely leaving the initial GF arc. It's not just good, it's about the best shonen manga I've read, ever. Excellent characters & development, interesting & tight, well-executed plots, near no boring filler whatsoever, just enough horrible situations to raise stakes without turning it into some grimdark tragedy where you think the best outcome would be for someone to just end the entire cast. I don't think a single chapter has disappointed me so far.
One of my favorite things is hope and love and sparkles!! winning out, but also those not being framed as stupid - our protagonist Emma is a fantastic representation of this. She's idealistic and trustful and kind and wonderful, while smart and resourceful and realistic when it matters. Just about the best protagonist a manga could have. When the whole plot is about surviving and having a better life, about helping their kin, about making a better world than it is now, about living because others couldn't, you /need/ someone like Emma leading the way. You just can't help but cheer on her and hope she'll get the results she wants.
Aside from that, I'll say the artwork is /incredible/, madly detailed, with amazing intricate backgrounds and a cast of hundreds of people who don't look alike and don't suffer from same-face syndrome. It's a shame this edition doesn't include the color pages, because the artist's work is beyond amazing and it should be fully appreciated.

Promised Neverland heats up as we finally get a answer on Minerva.
The first half of the book is a lot of set up. We find out who Minerva is and the plan to escape. We find out a certain someone might not be dead. We find out what they use some of the kids for. But the best part of this volume is the second half. Emma has been a godsend for the Pond kids as they now know how to kill these piece of shit demons. But knowing how to kill and doing it are two very different things. Together, the kids must find tactics to take them all out before it is too late.
Overall, this is fantastic second half and a strong first half to make this one of the best volumes yet. I especially love the tactics used here and the brutal take-downs. It always feels nice to see the good guys win a little bit. Sure, the opening is pretty exposition heavy but least it is pretty interesting overall.

This volume was just GO GOOD!!
Not that this series was EVER slow but this one was just PACKED with actions and lore and information, it felt like we were seeing a clearer yet still bague path about the future of the series.
From Emma and Lucas at the Goldy Pond, hearing William Minerva, the last time he communicated and what had happened to the gateway to the human world. Seeing his brother? I think it was a brother who betrayed him and just waiting for all of this to unfold.
Then oh no, what's this? Let's travel to the other side of the world where NORMAN is ALIVE? Like HELLO? Norman is alive? Oh this made me so happy.
The ending though, that cliffhanger..... I cannot wait to see what happens in the next volume! :D

This series is just "the more the plot wraps up, the more it unravels." I talked about this in my review of volume 8 and it is still the case. They keep making progress, yet still can't catch a break.
