Caroline Casey is a romantic in a world of realists. When she decides to leave her privileged upbringing to become a mail-order bride, everyone she knows is surprised, but she is convinced she can make a difference and find true love out west. There are two motherless girls who need her and her special brand of loving everyone around her to make their lives complete. Andrew Dawson is mortified when yet another housekeeper leaves thanks to his daughters’ abhorrent behavior. When the domestic agency he uses refuses to send another housekeeper, he sends for a mail-order bride, expecting her to simply be a housekeeper. He is not counting on Caroline Casey. Will she be able to win him over and convince him that she’s the wife he needs? Or will her dreams be completely ruined?
When you pick up a Kirsten Osbourne book you have certain expectations and this book fulfills those. When Caroline heads out to Texas as a mail order bride she has unrealistic expectations. Her new husband, Andrew, also has certain expectations and he is due a big surprise. How she deals with finding out just how unrealistic they were is the basis for this book and it will keep you reading. I totally enjoyed this book.
I had such a delightful time with MAIL ORDER MOTHER which tells the tale of a young widower with two little girls who are making keeping a housekeeper employed impossible by their behavior and one young woman who believes in love, being cheerful and making the most of every moment with laughter, love, and an upbeat attitude. Worlds are about to collide, but with some patience, understanding and eventually love this group of strangers may just make a very happy family… but it’s not going to happen overnight.
Andrew just saw the last housekeeper off at the station, and knows there are no more housekeepers heading his way any time soon – his daughters have made certain of that. An off-hand comment has him thinking of a mail order bride. Certainly, she couldn’t just run off after being married, right? And all a woman who’d be willing to marry a stranger wants is a roof over their head, correct? So, it’d be a perfect arrangement for them both… yeah, probably what Andrew would love to believe but reality is quite different. What he discovers in Caroline is a beautiful, cheerful upbeat young woman who sees good in any situation – and obviously has stars in her eyes for she thinks this is going to be a real marriage. Watching two people at cross purposes was entertaining and full of chuckle-worthy moments. But watching Caroline’s attitude toward and acceptance of Andrew and his daughters was heartwarming. There are lessons to be learned by all of them, but with time and patience, and hopefully, one day love it should all come together.
I adored the Epilogue for this story, it brings everything together with a lovely happily ever after bow.
If you enjoy a good love story and can’t get enough of Kirsten Osbourne’s stories, then you’ll love MAIL ORDER MOTHER.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Recomendo.
Well another very good book by Kirsten Osbourne. I really enjoyed reading about Caroline and Andrew and there family. Andrew has two daughters who are very rude to the housekeeps. So rude that the agency that sends the housekeepers refused to send any more. So Andrew request a mail order bride because she can not leave after marriage. Caroline arrives to a house of disarray and very rude girls. They do not want her there to replace there mother. The problems start there. Yet very enjoyable read. Will recommend this read.
There are certain authors who never disappoint and Kirsten Osbourne is one of those. When Caroline Casey sets out to meet her mail order groom she has stars in her eyes and a song in her heart. Her groom Andrew wants one person who can cook and clean and keep his daughters out of trouble. He thinks Caroline has a screw loose and our author's writing style may make you think the same. But add in a little twinkle in Caroline's eye, a little more than straight forwardness in her frank talking about the bedroom and her winning over the younger daughter and knowing how to deal with the older daughter she has Andrew tied in knots. Remember, Love always wins
This book was all I wanted and more in a clean novel. It had Pioneer setting with believable characters and enough of actual day to day living without being monotonous. It was a really good read. I e not Kirsten Osbourne's writing. I have never read a book by her i have 't enjoyed. Luckily I have more to read from her.
Another great story. All of the Brides of Beckman are wonderful. Poor Andrew never expected to find love with his mail order bride and Caroline had her own expectations about her groom. The best characters in the book was the girls. They were surprised at how their new stepmother reacted to them as well as how she treated them. This is really an enjoyable read.
As always I've just finished a great story by Kirsten Osborne!!!! This is a mail order bride from Beckham. The bride had dreams and wishes for things not of ordinary. She is a surprise to her husband and stepdaughter's. Read the rest for yourself and enjoy , I did!!!!!!
Caroline had romantic notions about being a mail order bride, but she found she had to win the love of her husband and two step-daughters. Having volunteered at an orphanage, she knew how to cook, clean, sew and care for children.
Caroline faced her new life with joy and hard work. She won the family over and helped them form a new family.
Caroline has in real expectations. She imagined romance and poetry. What she got was anger and angst. This story is one of learning that what we think we want isn't always what we get or need. A wonderful lovely story!
Wonderful story a strong women who knows her own mind tackles the mail order bride life with the addition of strong willed children and the adventure goes forward with love and humor .,
I really love this book. The story how the two of them expected different things than the got, but grew into a great love is wonderful. The story of how to be a great stepmother is also good.
Caroline was so much fun! Arriving in Whistle Stop with her head full of ideas of what she thought was the way a marriage would be and finding it wasn't like that at all was so good! The story of her and Andrew and the girls working towards her expectations was perfect!!
Standard MOB faire but enjoyable nonetheless. The female protagonist was a bit unbelievable but her relationship with the daughters was on the money. Husband, meh.
The beginning felt rushed and the heroine a little nieve. The story gets better and Caroline, the girls and Andrew find their way. Not as in depth as some of her other stories.
Kirsten Osbourne never go to put together a great story!!! Caroline is a perfect heroine. The girls truly needed her to show up. I love how she gets through to them. And to Andrew! He just didn't know he needed her.
I started reading this morning and didn't put the book down until I'd finished. It's a very sweet story of a mail order bride who not only has a new husband to deal with but also two young stepdaughte rs
I have left all the brides of Beckham books. But this one has a special spot in my heart as I am step mom also. And have loved those children as much as my own?
This book about a mail order bride that is enthusiastic about being one and has a "pollyanna attitude", finds 2 stepdaughters and a husband not wanting a "mother" or a " wife". She changes their world in the best way. A good feeling book!
What a darling heroine in love with love running off to be a mail order bride to a warn down widower with two precocious daughters. Her patient persistence pays off over time with the girls and the father. Love triumphs!
This was a very clean romance. The story did not have enough tension and was very predictable. I kept waiting for something to happen and it never did.
Love how irrepressible Caroline is. She is like a happy ball of energy. She deals really well with the girls and other less kind neighbours. Could have done without the bedroom scenes. Apart from that, a great story.
This short little book is about a mail order bride who goes to Texas thinking everything will be wonderful. It's quite uplifting to see how she approaches life. This is a very enjoyable series.
Another winner Kristen Osborn for another interesting and imaginative book. The characters are well thought out and the story line had lots of understanding, acceptance and love. You will enjoy reading this selection.
I love the Bride's of Beckham books and this one didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed the story and the characters. The book captivated me from the beginning and left me with a smile.
A beautiful love story that you will not be able to put down!! Andrew writes for a mail order bride after his wife dies and his two daughter become terrors!! Caroline falls for him and his daughters and in time they learn to love her too!! Grab this book and enjoy their journey to HEA!!
Another amazing Brides of Beckham tale from Kirsten Osbourne! I'll be (im)patiently waiting for the next one! You can never go wrong with Miss Osbourne!!!
