GamesTori Cockran had watched gambling consume her father and destroy her marriage. Ironically, now it was her only hope for survival. Her ex-husband had run off leaving her with a debt to a vicious loan shark – a debt a waitress’s salary couldn’t possibly pay. With her son’s safety as well as her own at stake, Tori set out to win at poker. But her skill go t her into trouble with the dynamic casino manager. Matt Devons. How could she prove to him she wasn’t a liar and a cheat?
This was just bad. Flat characters, head scratching romantic development, weird and violent undertones from the male MC, and eye roll worthy writing. The best part of this book was the Vegas setting and how the plot revolves around the business of running a casino which I found personally interesting if only for the fact that I haven’t read too many books about it.
Got this for 50 cents at a lawn bowling club book sale thankfully. I don’t mind reading “bad books” because most of them are at least fun in some respect but this one wasn’t even that.
