Chen Jiang Hong was born in Tianjin, China, where he studied fine art at the School of Arts before completing his postgraduate education at the China Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. After graduating, he moved to Paris where he studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and began his career as an artist. His work has been exhibited around the world, notably at the library gallery at the Louvre, at the Centre Pompidou, and at Versailles. His work is in the permanent collection of the Snite Museum at the University of Notre Dame. NYRB Kids publishes Chen Jiang Hong's The Tiger Prince and The Dragon Flower.
L'histoire a la structure classique du conte: une introduction qui décrit la situation, un problème a résoudre et un dénouement heureux avec, évidemment, sa morale finale. Ce qui le différencie des contes occidentaux, c'est qu'il met en scènes des dragons; J'ai trouvé que ce récit ressemble plus à une vieille légende chinoise qu'à un conte pour enfants. En plus de quelques lignes d'histoire, ce petit livre comporte des illustrations de type asiatique en couleur à chaque page qui sont tout simplement splendides !
This was a really pretty children's book in French about a Chinese dragon's quest to bring rain to keep the people alive. I really like books were dragons are good and helpful. The art was gorgeous. Very glad to have found a copy of this.
