Semi-noir-like novelization of the film The Seven Ups. Simple and cleanly written with good characterization. Includes some scenes and locations not seen in the film. Other scenes are rearranged, offering insight into how the film’s storyline was modified in the editing room. Good, quick read when you’re in the mood for a fast-paced detective story in a tale of revenge.

Atmospheric adaptation of the cop movie from 1973, with the prose sucessfully capturing the brutal and gritty feel of the movie. The author even does a pretty good job of converting one of the best movie car chases ever filmed into prose.
