I’ve been cooking out of this book for 20 plus years & have never been disappointed. Each section has an introductory story that gives background to the recipes. EVERY recipe has pictures of the preparation, along with the finished dish. Great book for new cooks to Mediterranean.

I have cooked about 15 recipes out of this book. 10 rate 5 stars, 4 rate 4 stars and one rates 3 stars (all out of 5 stars). I borrowed it from my mother-in-law the other day and wanted to pick myself up a copy but it's out of print :( I have had 3 separate dinner guests ask me where I got the recipe from and had to tell them that it's from an out-of-print cook book. Great recipes from all over the Mediterranean, not just the usual cliche souvlaki-type fare (although they include that too!). The only improvement would be if they had suggested wine pairings with the dishes. Generally you need bold and earthy wines to go with the sensuous flavors in these recipes. Yum!!
