Back in the 90s, technical conferences usually gave attendees oversized physical books containing all of the talks. I decided it would be fun to read the conference proceedings from GDC 1996, bascially a game industry time capsule from 23 years ago. Was fun to read talks from a few former 8-bit game designers (i.e., Danielle Bunten Berry, Bob Bates, Steve Meretzky, etc.), and encountering terms I haven't seen in years (VRML, FMV, winsock, and too many aol email addresses). There were a few good talks, but overall, 1996 was an ok year to skip.
