Best yet
It took 5 books but the plot and character arcs are set. Very enjoyable Space Opera. Unfortunately only one more left in this series bu not the KG universe

This exciting new book - number 5 in the Superdreadnought series - could be an extended episode or the basis for a new Star Trek film, so smoothly and expertly is it narrated.
As in previous books in the series, Superdreadnought Reynolds is a part of Bethany Anne's android Commander and advisor himself, in super-destroyer mode - tasked with ridding the Federation of Kurtherians and their evil ilk.
A most dangerous cult, [led by a megalomaniacal leader] has arisen, with plans to overthrow the Federation and eventually revolt against Bethany Anne, the Queen Bitch and law-giver of the Universe.
Time is of the essence, as Phraim-'Eh is gathering his disciples in force, on a number of planets he's already infiltrated. For the first time in ages, the world got in the way of my reading, so it took me a few days to read Superdreadnought 5!
I can't tell you how much I resented having to keep putting down my book to do other things - it sucked!!!
It sucked, because this book kept dragging me in, and taking me away from my reality, and it was amazing to have that. To get to the point where Reynolds and his crew had finally gotten to face the baddies, and do something about it, only to be suddenly dragged away from my suspension of reality, was hard.
This book was amazing. The crew had finally come into their own, showing their strengths where it was needed most, and Reynolds - both the Superdreadnought, and his android - had fought so hard to rid the Universe of the Kurtherian progeny, that it almost caused irrevocable harm to him.
But, by fighting together, and trusting each other, they succeeded, albeit with plenty of wounds to heal!
All I can say is a big Thank you, to those early readers, who persuaded Craig to write more about this amazing Superdreadnought series, because I really didn't want this story to end here!
Funnily enough, I was totally into these books even before Reynolds finally got the android body he wanted. I don't know why it is, but I really enjoy reading about amazing machines that develop great personalities - and with Reynolds splitting himself among the many stations in the ship, it's no surprise that each one would develop it's own personality!
I guess I just answered my own question - it's not so much how amazingly powerful a machine is - though that helps when battles abound - but it's the personality that evolves with experience that drags me in every time - and Reynolds certainly has some amazing - even amazingly funny - personalities!
Well, I looked at my reading list - more in the hope that I'd be continuing on to the next Superdreadnought book - but I see that my next read is book five of the Judge, Jury, and Executioner series - funnily enough, the book that Craig mentioned in the Author's Notes: Slave Trade!
This is the thing about the Kurtherian Universe: once you start reading it, it doesn't matter if you have to keep hopping from one series to another, if you follow the chronological reading lists - that wonderful fans of the series have spent many hours putting together - because every single series is set within this Universe, and written by some amazingly talented authors, and so, no matter what you happen to be reading, it's amazingly enjoyable!
Michael Anderle, the original author of the Kurtherian Worlds, takes his time coauthoring these books, and so you can guarantee that every single series fits in beautifully with the rest.
How amazingly awesome is that?

EPIC!
This series really keeps getting better, but this one was orders of magnitude bigger and better!
I literally had to read this in one go, because I just had to see how things were going to shake out.
I was not disappointed. The action in this series has always been tight and descriptive, but this one just felt so intense.
Set a few months after book four, the crew have taken time to upgrade the ship, their gadgets and their skills. This really shows in the affore mentioned action scenes, where the crew acts with decisiveness and skill as a unit. This is an aspect that helped the characters feel more cohesive not just as a fighting force, but as characters in their own right.
I won't spoil anything, but the journey does take them to a world (or two!) that they've previously visited and they see the consequences of their actions in previous books.
I don't want to say more to avoid ruining anything, but I do want to say how thrilled I was to learn that this won't be the final book in this series!
I cannot wait to see what comes next for Reynolds and crew!

I have just finished the 5 books in the Superdreadnought series by C H Gideon and I thoroughy enjoyed them. A nice blend of military Sci-fi and humour replete with references to modern day sci-fi TV series and authors (inc Sir Terry Pratchett!). Right from the autoset the author warns you that if you don't like bad language these books probably aren't for you. - but in all honesty the language is such that it adds to the humour rather than being offensive.
The idea of an AI splitting his personalities and then argueing with them and each other is quite unique in my experience. I found the concept of the personality in charge of the weapons (Tactical) being of the "if it moves - shoot it, if it doesn't move - shoot it" mindset hilarious. As is the idea a super AI could get lonely and want a human crew....
I would happily recomend all 5 books to anyone looking for a series comvining action and humour together.

On My God !!!
I sat and read this series front to back ( while I was doing everything else) in three days.My kids say I'm the only person they know who can do dishes (I don't trust the dishwasher)_and read or do laundry.I need to engage my mind while I'm doing simple chores.These novels are wonderful, the characters are hilarious and engaging from the beginning to the end.You forget what he is and just know he is going to win.I don't read sci-fi,or at least I didn't. I'm waiting for the next book. Please make it soon!!!

Incredible Story Telling!
Fast paced, adrenaline fueled action! This book had it all from the first page to the last! I have come to care about the characters in this series, especially Reynolds. And I am so glad The Author has decided to extend this series for a few more books. We readers were not ready to let go just yet. Thank you!

A light but entertaining read in Michael Anderle’s Kurherian universe. As usual lately, it is not Michael himself who is the author but the Superdreadnought series has been one of the more entertaining book series that he has “licensed out”.
It won’t win any prices for it’s writing but it got plenty of the charismatic characters, fun dialogue, colorful language and, above all, ass-kicking that one would expect from a Michael Anderle sponsored book.
I am still annoyed by the ship constantly being shot to pieces, repaired, shot to pieces, repaired etc. etc. At least we arrive at an acceptable conclusion to this particular story arc in this book and by that I do of course mean, spoiler alert, that the despicable bad guys got their final ass-kicking.
The author(s) really do have to get themselves into some basic science course though. For fuck sake, there are no “thunderous booms” when ships collide in space! There’s really no excuse for that kind of crap.
Apart from that the book was a decent enough piece of light entertainment.

Great ending, epic final battle between the good? and evil? That's the thing though we don't really know what Fram-A and his people really did to catch the ire of the federation. We just assume the people from Earth are the good guys because they do what seems good for all these people they interact with.
I say that because I want more of this universe, give us some prequels and sequels so we can figure out if the good guys won or lost.

It's always hard to write reviews because you don't want to drop spoilers. If you've read A needle and Martelle in the past You expect tight writing and great character development. The story flows well, because of the well defined characters, in this case Reynolds and crew fight an incredible battle with the wanna be "god" Pharam'Eh, they've made allies across the Chain Galaxy, this has been a very enjoyable series, you really should read it!

A fun series
Another romp into the Kurtharian Universe inside the super dreadnaught Reynolds. Spanning numerous systems the motley crew pinwheel from adventure to adventure, all the while chasing the arch villain and his followers. A fun series with some excellent guffaws and a host of likeable characters. You could do a lot worse than reading these.

Very well done book, glad it’s not the end of the series.
I enjoyed this book, I really liked the technology the characters and the action. The only thing I wish there was more use of nanosight Technology. Where the characters would get some enhancements. I love this series because it still in the KGU universe. Keep the books coming.

Is this the END!!!!
Based on my experience with this author and the crew of the Reynolds I'd say NO. Here the author has tried to bring a climax to the series but there are still to many open areas yet to be covered. Maybe in book 6 we will see it happen. But this is truly a great series of books from a fine writer. I know.You will enjoy all this works.

I am not of a scifi-opera fan so I started listening to this series and a little worry. But the story pulled me in and the movie references kill me from tactical. The John-Cab lol. But the story kept evolving in each book with new characters coming in all the time. The SD Reynolds was and steam rolling death machine that issues made the stories all that more enjoyable.

The finale is everything I could have hoped for. They got the and killed the pretend god and the 'voice.' Everything tied up in the Chain galaxy. The battle scenes are all we could have hoped for. Reynolds thought he'd lose his crew but of course they are staying. You'll find this series great fun. Enjoy!

The end of an arc
We see Reynolds and his crew chase down Phraim-‘Eh and destroy his cult. There is so much packed into this story, and the crew revisit old friends. An awesome, explosive end to this arc, and I truly hope we see another adventure for Reynolds & co.

The last battle
The last battle is all singing and dancing. The main characters have really developed and there is a feeling of family with the Reynolds. There is a nice touch of revisiting worlds and seeing how they progressed due to the touch of the Reynolds.

Five Stars All Round!!
Great plots, fast paced action, amazing characters, especially Reynolds and the main crew and brilliant one liners that make you pee your pants, all helped make this a fantastic read. AND YES, bring on book six!

Major action.
Good storyline and great wrap up. Nice to see a proper mop up. The fight on the godhand alone was worth the price of admission.
