Angie Seaver’s brother is coming home to visit for the first time in years. Overjoyed at the thought of her family being together again, she helps one of his old friends plan a welcome home party.
The celebration is brought to a screeching halt by a tragic occurrence.
At first, the death at the party looks like an accident, but Angie’s brother convinces her to help him dig deeper. The two of them work together to uncover the killer’s identity. What they find shakes their family to the core.
When Cozy Mystery author, Patti Benning, isn’t busy plotting the deaths of multiple fictitious characters, she loves to spend time hiking with her rescue dog, Max, who is her bestest writing buddy.
Patti loves to cook and the food in her books has been tried and tested in her very own kitchen. She’s technologically shy, and stays away from social media a great deal, because it makes her feel more awkward and introverted than meeting someone face to face.
Writing is the perfect job for her because in her books, she gets to explore all the topics she loves, food, animals, crafts and reading. She loves her readers dearly, and is thankful for the opportunity to share with them through her work.
This is quick, fast-paced book that I couldn’t put down. I enjoyed following along as Angie set out to solve the mystery. I was kept guessing as to who the culprit was until the final reveal, though I did have my suspicions. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.
Angie’s brother comes home for a visit after being away ten years, bringing his fiancée along with him. At his welcome home party, a body is found in their yard. I was unable to put this book down until the end. I was excited that Angie’s brother came back home to settle things with his family. Can’t wait for Book 3!
A good quick read and the twist at the end is excellent. The characters though still seem slightly wooden. Her brother has decided to come home for a two week visit and bring his fiancee. Between the diner and getting their room ready she is exhausted but she hopes that the old fight between her brother and father are all now in the past and that they can rebuild their relationship. A party suggested by an old school friend turns into a nightmare when the friend is found dead - having fallen from the balcony on the first floor. Was he pushed or was it an accident? The more she looks into it the more she thinks it was a lot more. Did it have something to do with the job opening at the marine lab? Or was it to do with his rocky marriage? Will she find the answer?
The first book had briefly mentioned Angie's older brother, so in this book we got to meet Jason and his fiancée Lydia. They'd no sooner been back in Alaska when one of Jason's friends was killed at a party.
There were several good suspects, and I was never completely sure whodunit, although there was one side mystery I guessed. Jason's a good character and typical silly big brother when he wants to be, so I hope he gets to pop in from time to time. I'll definitely be continuing to borrow this series on KU.
Angie's brother is flying in from Florida with his finance for two weeks. They have a party of several school friends when one falls from the balcony to his death. The police investigation leads to an accidental death but Angie is not so sure. The girlfriend finds a note saying Leave or you are next. Angie finds the girlfriend's notebook which matches the note. It comes out that the girlfriend pushed the man from the balcony. I would recommend this series and author to 👍 readers of romantic relationships mystery novels 👍🔰. 2023 👒😀💘😅
Angie is at it again, getting her brother to come home. Every thing going fine with him and his fiancee and her parents. When it happens big murder, but this time it's close to home. Really close.this is a case with lots of twists and turns it, and of Course loveable dogs too. This is a must read mystery, to see if Angie can solve the case and bring the murder to Alaskan justice. Can't wait till the next Alaskan mystery comes out. Debra H.
Angie has settled in quickly since she came home to help her parents with the diner and at home. She convinces her estranged brother to visit and again murder falls into their plans.
This book dealt less with the dog sled aspect and more with the relationships of the protagonists. I missed learning more about dogsledding it thoroughly enjoyed the book.
Angie’s brother returns to Alaska to visit the family for the first time in ten years with his fiancé. Friends organize a a surprise welcome back party at Angie’s parents house. All is going well until a dead body is found outside. The mystery continues with lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending. A fun read.
It was so nice that Jason finally came home for a visit. I hope we see him in future books. I really thought I knew who the killer was this time around but I couldn't have been more wrong. Looking forward to book 3
I'm enjoying this series and I love the setting. I loved that Angie's brother was introduced in this book and I was happy to find out what happened to their sister. Looking forward to the next book.
I could of thought of other people who may have done the deed but not who it turned out to be. Well written and I really like this series. Good family mysteries.
