Take a Chance!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💋💋💋💋💋
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📘📔
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: 👨🏻👱🏻‍♀‍🧔🏻👩🏻👱🏼‍♂‍

The heroine: Morgan James (a.k.a. Shyla) - posing as a stripper at a local strip club owned by Chance’s former Navy Master Chief. Morgan is searching for her 4 year old daughter who has been missing over 6 months. Her leads got her a name “The Broker” and she is looking for him/her.

The Hero(es): Chance Hendrix (a.k.a. Sniper) - he doesn’t date strippers and is a bit disgusted at strip clubs. His former Master Chief wanted him to go in on the strip joint he was buying, but Chance had no interest. Though he is checking out the place on the request of his friend.

The Story: Chance is immediately attracted to “Shyla” when he sees her at the club despite the fact that he’s never been with a stripper before. He takes her home and ends up treating her like the kind of person he assumes she is.

This is the first book of a three book arc and deals with sex trafficking and missing children and boy is it getting dicey for the men of Reed Security and their families. It seems like they are often protecting themselves as much as they protect their clients and when they get on someone’s bad side, it is often someone very dangerous and deadly and that is more than the case in this book.

This was also another great Reed Security Romance. This was every bit as intriguing, steamy, suspenseful and funny as the others and my favorite quote in the book is the following, but the funniest part is what happens right afterwards

“Dance fighting is becoming very popular”

I can't express how much I love giulia Lagomarsino books.
She didnt disappoint with this book. I loved every thing a book this book. This was one suspence epic book giulia's best yet.
Chance was a fantastic alpha male. I wanted his story so bad and he was a amazing guy. The love he as for his pillows was funny.
His former Cheif wanted his help with some pretty nasty shit.
He meet his Cheif at a strip club that he owned. There he meets the most beautiful woman.shyla who really called (Morgan).
Morgan is working as a stripper but isnt really a stripper. she trying to find her missing daughter.
When chance and Morgan meet. They dont really like each other but they loved each other in the end.
When all hell break loss you see all the Reed security are all in trouble.
Cant wait to read the conclusion to this.
Giulia left my hanging off a cliff with the cliffhanger she left at the end.
Thank you for another get book.

Sniper is another thrilling edition to Giulia Lagomarsino's Reed Security book. Chance, a.k.a. Sniper, is a former navy seal and a current member of Reed Security's team who was contacted by his former Navy chief for assistance with a security issue. Morgan is the mom of a 4 year old who went missing who will stop at nothing find her daughter. These 2 meet in an unlikely situation and the attraction is instant and their relationship continues to grow and develop. When M organ needs help, Sniper jumps in and then there is a whole jam packed lot of action ending in a pretty significant cliff hanger.

I'm all for instant attraction, and these characters had it for sure. There were a ton of pretty funny moments and some pretty serious ones. Initially, I didn't find Sniper to be a super likable character, but he grew on me as the book progressed. Anxiously awaiting part 2.

Wow, what a page turner! This one touches on so much it's amazing and heart wrenching at times. Of course, there's the fabulous and often funny camaraderie between the Reed Security hunks but there's also the heavy sensitive subject of human trafficking. This story features Chance aka Sniper as an ex SEAL hottie that can be real ass at times but learning his backstory gives some insight to his behavior. His encounter with Morgan aka Shyla and their ensuing hunt for her daughter takes us on a thrill ride into the underground chasing a sex slaver. The intense, exciting storytelling with danger, brutality, lots of action, and a smoldering romance is terrific. The is a fantastic addition to this superb series and I can't wait for the next installment in Sniper and Morgan's story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.

Fun, sexy mexy, plenty of action and yes at times tears.

This is by far the best series and the offspring series I have read this year.

The complex threads that Giulia weaves her stories, and her characters keeps you coming back for more. You will be riveted to the pages and find that hours have passed by the time you manage to pull yourself away.

You will laugh your arse off when you are not sweating through the action.

I was excited to read this book based on the blurb. I love a good SEAL story, and the mother looking for a missing child tugged at my heart strings. Unfortunately, the blurb was better than the book. Sniper is part of a series, and I have not read the rest of the series, so *maybe* if I’d read the whole series I’d like it better, but I doubt it.

The plot of this book takes us on a wild journey that ultimately gives Sniper and Morgan a chance at love after failed past relationships. But with some dirty and convoluted twists and turns that make it hard to follow and left us hanging with a cliffhanger ending. Overall I was left with a sense of confusion most of the time, along with revulsion for the scenarios, and annoyance at the characters, and a general wish I hadn’t taken the time to finish.

Sniper, aka Chance is a former SEAL. We know he was married, but it didn’t work out and left him hating the very idea of commitment and relationship. He seems like a good guy, a stand up guy, but the details provided, in the format and order, combined with his actions and language make it hard to like him and understand him. Morgan is a mom whose child was kidnapped and as such, will stop at nothing to find her daughter. Her trust in the system has let her down so she’s working any angle she can to find her child. While I understand that drive and emotion, I’m not sure I can follow her actions and reasonings throughout the book. And it’s nearly impossible to keep track of all of Chance’s team members, with both their real names and nicknames being thrown around, though they and their loved ones seem important, but not summary given to help a reader out. The background info seemed lacking, or was given at weird times that made it hard to relate to the characters.

One of the first things Chance does is manage to sleep with a stripper. And treat her with a complete lack of respect. Said stripper turns out to be Morgan. The encounter ruined my view of both characters, so no matter than they seem to like each other sexually, it was tough to believe on my part. Their actions and mistrust and dialogue soured me to their growth in the relationship and any chemistry they may have had.

I had to keep forcing myself to keep reading. I thought it’d get better, but the few pages that were easy and fun to read were tempered by pages of tough to read dialogue and tormented narrative. I had trouble keeping people straight. I couldn’t find much of the plot points believable, and I’m sincerely hoping that is because I’ve never had a child kidnapped or been let down in the same ways as Morgan and Chance.

I didn’t love the book. I really dislike a cliffhanger romance novel. I have no desire to wait for the following two books to complete the storyline. I was disappointed in what I was hoping would be a feel good book where a SEAL would save the day and fall in love and despite the kidnapping and divorce, have a happily ever after.

Favorite Quote:
“I’d never met a group of people that were so close, yet so weird.”
“One minute, she was a crying mess and now she was acting like a domesticated cat taking over my house.”
“You’re kind of evil. I like it.”

Holy Hotness where can I get me a "Sniper" and some wall ................ but without the kidnapping please

Sniper is the first book that I have read by Giulia Lagomarsino and I was not sure what to expect. The description of the story looked interesting so I figured I would give it a try. Well I was not disappointed at all. I found Sniper to be engaging and a good read with a little girl who is taken, a mother who will keep looking and do anything to get her back, an ex-military hero/anti-hero who just can't stay away but doesn't want to be there and a lot of other fun characters.

The story centers around Morgan, aka Shayla, our h, who appears to be late 20's and is working as a stripper. However, she really isn't a stripper, not that there isn't anything wrong with being one, but she was led to the strip club after hunting down leads about her kidnapped/taken daughter, Payton. Payton, who is 4 years old, was taken 6 months previous and after 3 months the police and FBI basically packed up shop and did not hunt any more but did not close the file either. There were just no more leads for them to pursue. But don't tell that to a mother who has lost her only child. So after going from lead to lead Morgan ends up at the strip club and gets a job.

One night our H, or is that anti-H as he really keeps trying to stay away but just can't seem to, Chance, aka Sniper, shows up at the strip club and is introduced by the owner to Morgan. Let's just say that he can't keep his eyes off her once she dances and will not stop at anything to get her "under him". So he does and then a few more times they set the sheets on fire, or would that be the wall in the alley and the wall in her apartment? Chance seems to really like walls!

From here the story takes many twists and turns with lots of suspense, action, danger, tenderness, a budding romance, laughs (especially the women in the of Reed Security orbit), family (and those that are not blood but are still family) and some panty melting scenes thrown into the mix. There is a lot of interactions with the other characters that make up the Reed Security world. But these men and women really add a lot of fun and interest to the story and add to the budding relationship/not relationship between Morgan and Chance. I don't want to give it all away as there is just to much to say without having to rewrite the entire book. At the end there is a cliffhanger to this 3 part arc of the Reed Security series. I can't wait to read book 2 and 3, Jackson and Chance, to see how this story ends....................will Chance and Morgan finally be together? will Morgan finally be reunited with Payton? will the men and women of Reed Security live or who will die? will The Broker be brought down and those above him also?

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

The ending was a hard no.

There will be spoilers. More for my own reference later. But if you don't want spoilers, don't read past the second paragraph. The book was actually an enjoyable read until I got to the end.

For one, I'm not sure why Chance, Jackson, and Chance again have a 3 part book series in the middle of a bigger series, but whatever. Their story pulled me in and had me interested.

She was trying to get her daughter back by getting intel at the club and he was meeting an old military buddy who owned it (I think he's crooked personally, but maybe not). Seems like he would be based on him peacing out so quickly when the girls were taken. But anyway, back to Morgan and Chance/sniper.

They definitely had the chemistry and the fun scenes. And the whole reed security group cracks me up. They are a hoot together. Who doesn't love a bunch of badasses who kick each other's butts now and again? Lol

Chance vowed to help Morgan find her daughter and I believe he absolutely would do so too. He warned Morgan that Wes, "The Broker", wasn't going to get her daughter back for her and that he was dangerous. Morgan knew this of course but held out any hope for getting Peyton (daughter) back. Whatever means necessary, as mom's do.

So when Chance goes off on his job and Florrie and Alec come to stay with Morgan at Chance's house, you knew something was going to happen! And if it was a real story - Florrie and Alec would be dead. But it's a book world, and we need them, so they're alive.

Wes captures Morgan and gives her the option to come with him and be his prisoner and do whatever he wants (which he already met her and insinuated would be a painful experience since he's quite the evil man) and get her daughter back if Morgan tells him everything she knows about Reed Security because they're all going to suffer. Or she can stay in Chance's house and be tied up with little potential for escaping since the house would be boarded up and find her daughter herself if she escapes and never hear from him again.

Next thing we know is the house is on fire and boarded up... Chance assumes she's in there still. And is guilt ridden. I thought maybe she was in his panic room. She wasn't. Sean checked when he was on scene.

Instead she completely betrayed Chance and everyone at Reed security and their building was breached (again) and it was a bloodbath. With Hunter having a bad injury to the neck and bleeding out. I'm assuming he makes it (because it would make for a crappy story otherwise) but damn! Complete betrayal! Not just Chance but all the guys and women who helped her. That's cold. They would have stopped at nothing to help her get Peyton back, but she threw them under the bus and chose an evil man who won't likely help her and who threw her in a dungeon again (after throwing her naked into a well earlier in the book). Wtf? No.

Secondary characters and reed security as a whole save this book again.

Throughout this series so far Chance ‘Sniper’ Hendrix has been presented as “Mr. I don’t do relationships” as accurately explained by Maggie in this book. This once married before ex-military sniper wants nothing to do with falling in love or getting married. That is until he meets Morgan James. Morgan has too much going on in her life with the search she’s on for information about her missing daughter and like Chance the last thing she wants is a relationship. Well… until she meets him.

The first few meetings between these characters leave a lot to be desired. Chance’s derogatory treatment and thoughts towards Morgan paint his character in a bad light and you wonder how a relationship could ever develop between the two. They continue to have rocky moments and to some readers these might be hard to ignore/forgive but remember this the first in a three-part arc, with Chance and Morgan having a second book later. There is room for character and relationship growth which does happen. Chance sees Morgan in a different way to the readers during their initial interactions but when the truth behind her actions is revealed he starts seeing her strength, determination, and resilience. Her personality matches quite well with Chance’s but their lack of interest in a relationship leaves them in the dark to what could be between them, unlike the readers and other characters who can see what could be.

In terms of action this addition to the series has it from the very beginning. We join Morgan six months into the search for her daughter and the Reed Security cast join just as things are starting to get more dangerous than Morgan could comprehend. Amongst all the action something happens between Chance and Morgan and as Chance describes it that something "was the start of what I knew would be the best thing in my life if I just allowed it to happen". Unfortunately, before either of them truly sees their feelings for one another the possibility of more is snatched from them. The fate of so many is left unanswered as we near the end of the book and if you thought Whiskey had high stakes, like I did, it’s nothing on where this arc is going to take us.

This was an absolutely incredible romantic suspense story about a woman (Morgan) whose four year old daughter (Payton) had been taken. After the police gave up on any leads they were trying to follow, Morgan began searching on her own and ended up stripping at a club where a man would come who had lots of resources and contacts (The Broker) and might know where her daughter was. Chance/Sniper is the Reed Security agent who falls in love with her (without realizing it) and wants to help her. There are some great sex scenes but Morgan and Chance both have an ex who hurt them terribly in the past and no longer want commitment or love. Some romantic suspense books have several chapters describing the horrors of human trafficking and the torture and really bad treatment of women who have been trafficked. I am glad to say this author did NOT describe where or why or what has been happening to Payton during the months she was taken, but I was very relieved as I would have been extremely upset and probably stopped reading about a four year old being treated badly. I also have to say there was a lot of humor in the descriptions of the Reed Security men fighting each other over little reasons! In the midst of that, there is a lot of action and adventure trying to find out why Payton was taken and where she might be. Then, readers MUST get to the last part of the book where there was an explosive action scene like none I have read before! And I have read a ton of romantic suspense books! I'm sorry there was a cliffhanger, but I have to also say that this is one of the first times I will patiently (anxiously) wait for Part 2 and 3 to be released! I highly recommend this book, and also recommend readers find out more about all the books of Giulia Lagomarsino.

I am in such turmoil over this story. The premise of it was a hard pill to swallow to begin with, but the turn at the end was just brutal.
Ok, let's begin with characters. As always, the banter between the guys is just priceless. Never a dull moment when the men of Reed Security come together to discuss their woen issues. The scene in the kitchen with the fight was epic, made all the better by Florrie's commentary reel. I love reading about these moments in this series. Even in the most serious of books in the series, these moments bring such a light feel that I just really sop them up!
Chance (AKA Sniper) was an amazing character in the H position. He really had so many areas to really pull the reader in. You get his history making him act the way he does, and yet you also scream at your kindle over his being an ass. His development as the story progressed was ideal to read about.
Morgan (AKA Shyla) was an enigma throughout. In some moments you thought you had her pegged, only to discover some other aspect to her that had you wondering. Her choices were sketch at times but when you consider her motivation, it is so obvious why she would do what she did. In the end she had no real choices. It seemed "someone" was always two steps ahead waiting to play her.
*Spoilers*
At first I hated Morgan for what she did at the end, but in reality who wouldn't do ANYTHING to save their child from a fate worse than death. Also when it was clear that her "intel" didn't really matter and he already knew it all without her helped me feel like it wasnxt a battle she would've won either way.
Now I am gonna be dying a slow death until I can find out what happens next! Gah!

Chance 'Sniper' Hendrix got burned in a bad marriage when he was a Navy SEAL, and he has no desire to ever even have a relationship again. When he goes to visit his old commander at his club, he never intended on sleeping with a stripper, but that's exactly what happens when he comes face to face with Morgan. Although, he doesn't know her by that name. See, Morgan's daughter Payton was kidnapped, and the police have given up, so she's working as a stripper trying to find a man known as The Broker, as she's learned that he's the one who has the information she needs, and she'll do anything to get her daughter back. However, when things go sideways, the company Chance works for, Reed Security, gets involved to help her, but can they find her daughter?! This story was another winner in this EPIC series! I will NEVER EVER get enough of the Reed Security guys, that's for sure! You already know that there's action cover to cover with the suspense filled plot, but the brilliant Giulia Lagomarsino still adds in these original scenes of humor that are so hilarious that my stomach always ends up hurting by the time I'm done reading. These guys are such bad a** heroes, but still find time to kill me with laughter as well. (sweating to the oldies is one example) Then, Morgan & Chance lit the sheets on fire or should I say floor, as Chance would have a stroke if his bed & pillows caught fire, during sexy times. However, Sniper ended on such a brutal cliffy that I'm dying inside, and not sure when it will be resolved, as it seems like there's a book in between?! OMG I was about to stroke out! Anyway, still worth the total melt down I had at the end, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

human trafficking and sex slavery are ugly things. Reed Security has worked with various agencies in the past to take down some serious players, but their latest involvement is personal.

Chance aka Sniper served on SEAL teams, until separating to try and save a marriage that was not much of a marriage in the end. He felt badly burnt and betrayed by his ex, and avoided romantic connections as much as possible. working with Reed Security gives him the opportunity to still carry a gun, use his skills, and make a difference.

when he goes to visit his former Master Chief, he naturally falls for the one woman who does not seem to really fit into the whole stripper club scene. A single mom trying to get her daughter back, and being reckless to try to get info and aid to do so.

She puts a bit of her trust in Chance, and has a fling with him, but she also puts her trust in a bad man or two to try and get info.

The Chief was caught up in the mess trying to help bring down bad guys. But other actors were acting for money, and other motivators.

faced with a choice of aiding a nasty man or trying to save the teams at Reed Securities, Morgan yields little help, and finds herself in an even worse position as bullets fly, things explode, and families are put in danger at Reed Securities.

Can Morgan and the families survive? what about her daughter - is she already dead?

Book one of three about this awful case, that puts bad guys in positions to do great harm.

I received an advance copy of this book from Booksprout. I read it on Kindle Unlimited.

Biggest drawback? I have to wait a few weeks for the next book to release - but am so ready to read it!

Outstanding! Simply outstanding. Exciting, intriguing, heart-stopping and enough heat to ignite the pages, this book will grab you and hold you captive until you..well, hit that wall that will have you chomping at the bit for the next book to see how things will turn out. This storyline will have you hanging on to the edge of your seat waiting at every turn of the page for something to happen, because you know, things just can't go that easily for this couple and the security teams. Shyla (Morgan) is searching for her little girl who was kidnapped and will do whatever it takes to find clues that will bring her closer to finding the one person who means more than anything to her. Chance (Sniper) sees her at the strip club where she works, takes her home and what he believes is a one and done soon becomes something that he can't seem to get enough of. Even though he continues to state that he doesn't do or want a relationship, you can certainly see that that's just what he's falling into. He just doesn't see it yet. Shyla's digging into her daughter's disappearance has brought her to the edge of danger, and with one false move, she has landed right into the hands of the man she was hoping would help her, unfortunately, it puts her life at risk, more than once. One bad decision and everyone's lives are at stake.

This is an outstanding story with characters that are very well written and well defined. You won't want to miss this story because it promises to be the lead in for what may be the best story line of this series yet!.

Chance “Sniper” Hendrix needs to work on how to treat a woman. He seems conflicted about what he wants. Morgan James feels lost but has incentive to keep going. She shows what can happen when a desperate situation calls for desperate measures. She has someone looking out for her – Storm. He may be a secondary character but I found myself wanting to see what our author has in store for him.

I was glad to see the men from Reed Security make an appearance like in previous books. It keeps the reader connected to the series and gives you plenty of comic relief. Our author knows what is needed when you start with a very serious situation and then it turns around and you’re laughing by the end. She makes it easy for you to picture everything that’s taking place.

I don’t want to give anything away so all I’m going to say is that our author is evil – you’ll understand once you read the scene in question. I will tell you that you’ll be laughing a lot at Sniper’s expense. That evilness goes up a notch when all of a sudden I’m laughing at someone else’s pain – I’m sorry but I just couldn’t help it. The ending shows how truly evil Ms. Lagomarsino is – I’m left feeling frustrated and having to wait.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

This is Morgan and Chance (Sniper)'s story. Chance was married before, but it fell apart and he decided that he was going to stay single and enjoy life. He meets Morgan and never thought one night and one meeting was going to change everything he thought he wanted. Morgan is searching for her missing daughter and will do anything to get her back. That is why she is currently working as a stripper. She knows she is in a dangerous situation, but she also knows she needs help. She is looking for one person and never thought she would fall for someone while trying to get her daughter back. Now Chance is getting involved but can she really trust him? Or will trusting him lead to more danger and missed chances at finding her daughter?

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

What do you do when your four year old child is abducted with no clues to find her? Morgan will do anything to get information to help find her daughter including working as a stripper. She has a lead on a person she is told might be able to help her. In the meantime, her boss invites an old Seal member, Chance/Sniper to check out his club. There is an attraction when they meet and he goes home with her. He doesn’t know she is basically undercover and treats her like a prostitute. But he keeps going back. He rescues her from a dangerous situation with the “broker” with knowledge she needs, and brings her back to Reed Security. But the “broker” wants what he believes is his and goes after Reed Security with his own army of protection. Everyone is in danger and the ensuing firefight is not without collateral damage. Morgan makes a deal to go with the devil when he promises to reunite her with her daughter. Now the suspense and danger is at a high, there is a cliffhanger! This is part one of a three part trilogy. So, now we wait for part two next month. Too invested to bail now. Well written and back to previous level of intensity.

A mother's love!
by sewsummore

There was nothing Morgan wouldn't do to get her daughter back safe. Chase was determined never to become emotionally involved after his wife left him, instead he had one night stands that held no emotional ties the next day. After having sex with Morgan he walked out after throwing a few notes on her bed, so why did he go back for seconds. She was a distraction he did not need but when he learnt the truth about her lost child he promised to do everything he could to get her back. This story was intense, violent and heartbreaking. His security team became involved and a bloodbath was the result. Morgan was taken captive and forced to submit while chase and his team were left to pick up the pieces of their lives and mourn their comrades. This book is only part one of a three part series and I cannot wait for the next book. I can understand Morgan's determination to find her child, a mother's love for a child knows no boundaries. Chase was a man afraid of commitment, and yet he put his life on the line for Morgan, I admired his commitment to find her child while denying a relation ship existed between himself and Morgan.

Sniper is not the settling down type, after having one failed marriage he isn't going there again and dating a stripper is also a big no no. So getting involved with Morgan is not going to end well, for Morgan is working as a stripper trying to find out who has kidnapped her daughter Payton, and Sniper has been sleeping with her and the feelings are getting stronger. That is until Morgan gets to close to the 'Brooker' who knows what has happened to her daughter and things are just going to get worse as not only has Sniper become involved but the whole of Reed Security has now become involved as the Brooker wants them all taken out. All of Giulia's books are brilliant to read but this series is going to top it all, the suspense is unbelievable and waiting for book 2 in this mini series of three is going to be very hard.... a total must read.
Although this is a series of 3 books in itself it does follow on from the rest of the Reed Security series, so you really need to read all them first to get the benefit from this book.

And the award for most thrilling book of the year definitely goes to Sniper. This was a book of the most epic proportions. The story itself is really captivating and Giulia really gets the emotions going when you read about the fierce love that Morgan has for her daughter, and the lengths that she'll go to, to get her back. Chance is a pure Reed Security alpha through and through. He has his dumbass moments, but he makes up for it with his love for his Pillows. .lol. . This book had me on the edge of my seat, laughing, crying, and cursing. .especially when the book ended on that cliffhanger. So it was an exceptionally well written book. There is not much I can say to express just how much I love Giulia's style of writing. She draws you in and makes you feel like you are part of the Reed Security family in such a way that the stories and characters stay with you long after you've finished read the books. I always say this, and it still holds true, her writing and the story just keeps on getting better and better.

I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
I seriously L❤️VE (yes, I had to shout that!) this series and it's precisely because of Giulia's writing of books like this. It's yet another perfect mix of alpha male and sassy heroine. In this episode we follow Chance and his meeting of Morgan, then the subsequent search for her daughter. Unlike all Giulia's previous works however this one is left without an HEA as there is another two books to follow to complete the storyline (seriously? - do you not torment me enough! 😖). As we've come to spect with this series there is the laugh out loud moments (yeah, they get you a few strange looks!), edge of the seat drama (*why* would she do that?!) and the swoon worthy love story (ooooh, and off the scales sex scenes! 🔥🌶).
Although you *could* read it as a stand alone, it truly gives you a more immersive, fully invested, read if you follow them in order and they're all SO brilliant - why wouldn't you want to read them all?!
Now I just have to sit and patiently wait for the next in the series *SIGH* 😫

After his marriage when he was a Navy SEAL Chance may have sworn off love and relationships but the same can’t be said for women. When his former boss asked to meet him at a men’s club the last thing he expected was to spend the night with one of the strippers.

Morgan is a stripper at the club not for the money but in the hopes that she can get the information she needs to track down Payton, her missing four year old daughter. She has lost faith that the police will be able to find her, so she is willing to do whatever is necessary to track her down herself.

Not only does Chance get involved in the search but the rest of Reed Security as well. As the danger and suspense escalates so do the feelings between them and it all leads up to an epic cliffhanger.

This story takes you on an action packed adventure that is not only filled with suspense but with emotion and humor as well which leaves us needing the continuation of the story as soon as possible. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

We've waited for the next book from Giulia Lagomarsino and Reed Security and boy, did she deliver. This is the first of a three part story.
Morgan has been trying to find her four year old daughter and at this point, she's willing to do anything it takes. When the police investigation comes up with nothing, she decides to follow her own leads to a man called 'The Broker.' That leads her to becoming a stripper at a club owned by a former boss of Chance, aka Sniper, at Reed Security. I'm not going to give you a synopsis of the entire book but let me say this. If you've been following this series, you know Giulia Lagomarsino has the innate ability to bring a storyline to life with a plot that will keep you intrigued and characters that are so perfectly flawed personalities you have no choice but to just be up in the middle of things. This book will make you feel like you've come back to catch up on things with old friends and before you know it, it over but not before the big cliffhanger. I hate to rush an author, but I can't wait for the next one.

I will say that while I liked this book, it is not my favorite in the series. One on of the big issues was that I did not know it was going to play out through 3 books. That definitely didn’t make me happy.

But overall, I thought the book was well written, and for the most part I liked the characters. Chance kind of pushed my likable meter in this book. There were times that I really did not like him, but then his character would do something and I would start rethinking what I thought about him.

Now there is a lot in this book. The team has definitely tangled with a player that I don’t think they are ready for, and the ending showed just how right I was in that assessment. And even though this is the 13th book in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone as the author always does a great job in giving backstory in each book.

So overall, not totally happy with the fact that the story will play out through three books, but I did like the overall story and characters in this book. So, two thumbs up and happy reading!

Watching Shyla dance, he never wanted a stripper, but something about her made him watch her and want her.
Morgan’s daughter, Payton, was taken and with no leads she decided to look for her herself and it had leads her to the strip club and the name The Broker. Knowing that the man was danger didn’t matter to her, she wanted her daughter back, but she let the security guard to call Reed Security and let Sniper know if she went missing.
Sniper knew there was something different about Shyla, finding out she was Morgan, looking for her daughter wasn’t what he expected, or that she would be taken by someone involved in human trafficking, and the team would be protecting her life from The Broker that for some reason didn’t kill her.
Morgan never thought a decision would be so hard, make a deal with the devil, get her daughter or betray the people who have been helping her, including Chance, who as much as she tries to deny it she knows there’s feelings there for, but will she make the right choice.
Ends in a cliff hanger.

This is not the first book in the Reed Security series, but it is the first book in this trilogy that is a part of the series..
I'm this book We meet "Shyla" aka Morgan, a woman who is trying to find her four year old daughter. She will do anything in her power to find her daughter. I'm order to do this she begins stripping trying to find any ounce of information on where her child could be. Enter our hero Chance. Now Chance is a sniper for the seals. He works for Reed Security. He goes into the strip club to catch up with an old military buddy. After he sees Morgan dance he decides he needs a taste. What starts out as a one night stand slowly turns into something so much more. Neither of them is looking for mire, but as we all know the harder you fight it the harder you will fall.
This book is jam packed full of action and danger. There is so much action that you will find yourself flipping through pages just to see who, what, when, and where things are going to happen. It does end in a cliffhanger so I am going to hurry up and post this so I can dig into book two.

Who is Jeremy Wick and why is Chance meeting him where we find him pulling up to? How do they know one another? Who are Morgan and Payton? Who is Steven? Why does he give me the creeps? Oh lord!!! Rocco and Morgan giving Sniper a hard time is sooooo funny!!! What happens that makes Sniper pass out? WHo and what is the Broker? THese guys are a hoot! When Maggie takes Morgan to meet a contact from her previous life, what does she say that talks Sinner into helping them? What happens when a gun fight breaks out and the whole deal is broken down to Morgan by Gabe and Chris is a hoot! Oh my gosh! Chance's first world problems are so funny after things get set straight with Morgan! Wow, talk about a cliff hanger of an ending!

Wow ... impossible to get bored
The departure is extremely intense and torrid, and the rest of the story oscillates between drama and comedy sometimes, but remains a romance with action, in a gloomy environment, on a background of human trafficking, conspiracy.
I loved this episode, but the cliffhanger is unsustainable, and this is only the first part of this trilogy.
Sniper, aka "Chance" in the security agency Reed. He has a sexual relationship with Shyla that he thinks is a stripper and that he treats like a prostitute, but in fact she does her own investigation to find her 4 year old daughter who disappeared 6 months before.
Their relationship evolves when he understands what Morgan (aka Shyla) is doing, but she's in danger and the entire Reed Security team goes into action to help her.

Man oh man, I love reading this author and the security series that she has written. Each one of these guys are absolute gold and the stories that they share and bind together to conquer are nothing short of amazing. Sniper of course is no different with that respect. However, this is part one of a three part series within the series, so keep this in mind for your reading order. This particular book is about Sniper and Morgan and how their story unfolds and their chemistry ignites. As always the cameos from past/other characters are always a treat with their banter, witt and charm. This is a fantastic series, I highly recommend reading each and every word, the only thing disappointing is the feeling when the book ends and you have to wait for the next one! :)
