Hell, those giant fetuses are so nasty!!! I wonder what that brain-thing kind of like butterfly-effect-movie-brain-something is all about, I remembered I've been seeing the same art on the previews volumes! Augh!! Everything's ending on a cliffhanger, huh. I want to read the next volumes immediately!! But it's seriously getting late! 😭
Seriously, I'm in awe! I love how thrilling this ride is! I was seriously hoping for a sobby story when I opened this series—I mean, the title was too soft for me, how could I know?! But this is freaking awesome. Crazy awesome. Stupidly crazy awesome!!

Two distinct parts again in this volume: the end of (original) Ushio’s last days until her very last moments and the expedition lead by Shin, Sô and (copy) Ushio into the old clinic which seem to be the shadows’ lair or something close.
The characters never cease to grow on me. The bonding between the 2 Ushios works well and now Sô is in the know, adding his rather endearing personality to the group.
Thrills, emotion, and total creepiness once inside the clinic summarize this 5th volume. Love it.

The newest volume and even more Ushio and what happened to her (S-Ushio) and the normal Ushio. It got quite exciting especially since at one point we even had THREE Ushios. Haha, try to keep track of that. XD I also liked, well I am not sure that is the right word given what happens, the memory and what hints/details that gave us the reader. Plus, there is some shocking revelations! I am so curious about that girl in red kimono/yukata and what she really is. She certainly is deadly. Oh yes. Then there is the old clinic and I was noping all the way. I mean, old hospitals/asylums/clinics are generally a big fat nope and scary things tend to happen there. Haha, and that is what happened here as well. I was so creeped out! So many scary things are found and it gets more and more exciting, and of course it ends with a cliffhanger so I guess that I will have to keep on reading, haha. So many fun clues and puzzles pieces and it is fun seeing where they fit. I cannot wait to see this one animated (still watching the anime).

Nov 21. 2021: This volume explained A LOT. I certainly feel like I understand the landscape of the series more now. Things make more sense. Now it seems like we're gonna take this newfound clarity and run headfirst into a defining arc of the series. The discovery of the Shadows nest! Next volume is gonna be crazy!
Jul 21. 2022: This volume does so much for Ushioh as a character. Up until this volume, it's hard to disassociate her from Ushio, since she's just a copy of her. But seeing the two of them together, interacting, responding to things differently, you start to realize that Ushioh is just as much a character in her own right. Flashback arc for the win!

Esta historia no deja de mejorar. Ahora ya conocemos cómo murió Ushio, qué es capaz de hacer la Ushio Sombra y poco a poco nos introducimos más en el misterio y en la complejidad de las sombras. La cosa se pone un poco truculenta y perturbadora con algunos elementos de terror además de thriller, y la trama asciende sin parar.
No podía soltar el tomo hasta que lo he terminado de lo enganchada que estaba.

Początek recenzowanego tomiku to dawka mocniejszej akcji, która jednocześnie odsłania nieco prawdy na temat cienia Ushio. Mamy okazję trochę lepiej go poznać i częściowo zrozumieć, dlaczego tak bardzo różni się on od pozostałych „cieni”. Kolejne strony komiksu nie są mniej ekscytujące. Autor serwuje nam bowiem swoistą podróż przeszłość, rzucającą znacznie więcej światła na bohaterów, samą wyspę i tragedię, której byli świadkami/uczestnikami (niekoniecznie świadomymi). Twórca w doskonałym stylu miesza tu mroczne tajemnice, ludzkie emocje i szczyptę przyjemnego w odbiorze humoru. Wszystko to jest jednak jedynie wstępem do wydarzeń, których będziemy świadkami w dalszej części mangi. Młodzi bohaterowie zaczynają odkrywać bowiem sekrety wyspy, z którymi związani są niektórzy mieszkańcy. Prawdziwa “jazda bez trzymanki” rozpoczyna się w momencie ich zejścia do mrocznych podziemi. Atmosfera momentalnie gęstnieje, klimat grozy jest wyczuwalny dosłownie w każdym kadrze, a przewracane strony przynoszą nowe fabularne zaskoczenia. Całość oczywiście kończy się w taki sposób, że nie można nie chcieć szybko sięgnąć po kolejną odsłonę.
Świetnie prowadzona klimatyczna historia nie jest jedyną zaletą tego tytułu. Na plus mangi należy również zaliczyć bohaterów. Trio nastolatków (występujących w piątej odsłonie na pierwszym planie) dobrze łączy lekki humor z powagą sytuacji, w której się znaleźli. Zapewnia więc to czytelnikowi prawdziwą emocjonalną sinusoidę, która jest bardzo angażująca.

It was so sad seeing the death of the original Ushio. But now the gang is hellbent on revenge which leads them into a terrifying system of caves. This is not going to be a good time and I can tell that without using Shinpei's "birds eye view".

On est directement plongé dans un combat contre les ombres qui nous pousse à savoir pourquoi Ushio est différente. On en apprend plus sur ses capacités en général et c'est vraiment intéressant. De plus Shinpei se lance à la recherche de la source des ombres, avec bien évidemment l'aide d'Ushio.
