EA Hunt is a celebrated contemporary Amazon author known for romance novels, often featuring Black/ African American main characters in genres such as motorcycle club and paranormal romance. EA as multiple published books, including the "The Four" series and Black Crows MC - Georgia Chapter. EA is often featured in literary circles, nominated for "Female Author of the Year," and has appeared on platforms like Every Night Date Night and HerStoy Circle
I have read several of this author's work previously and have liked her works, but not so much with this one. I disliked that the heroine continued to make decisions that resulted in a third unwed pregnancy although since it is a romance she gets the HEA. I also found it hard to suspend disbelief that she, a faith-based woman could effectuate the rescue she did over and above skilled male ranch workers. This just didn't work for me.
At the beginning of this one, I thought I would like it. But, this turned into what to me was a story of just a promiscuous female. I thought she was a single Mother whose relationship with the Father of her child just did not work out and she was still finding her footing and needed the change of a new job. Then, she starts a sexual relationship with Xavier as if she has pregnancy protection and no child (young one) in the picture. Then, we find out she has another one that is 22 and she is 42, old enough to know and do better. This kind of threw me as this has been my most hated family drama for years. Too many single females, with one or more children, sometimes multiple fathers. I say close your legs or get a prescription for birth control. Anyway, Xavier at 33 thinks it is cute that he has himself a cougar.
What really ticked me off was when her young daughter asks Xavier to take her to a Father-Daughter function she wants to attend. Then goes on to tell him that the 22 year old Sister had explained why her Mom was sleeping with him. Thank the heavens and stars that she gets to keep the innocence of youth and he is willing to act as surrogate father. He cares about her and the Mom, just no one thought about her innocence at the time the lust was taking over. Duh! No pass for this kind of drama, as it is not cute.
Mom (Alysia) finds she is pregnant again and after some more life saving drama, tells Xavier. He loves her enough to marry her and I found this to be the saving grace for the story. May the love continue forever! 🤷🏾♀️
One thing about a EA Hunt book is you are going to be dropped right into the thick of things. This was not only a sweet and enjoyable story but it also moved a pace that you are not going to experience any down time. The main two characters were likable and you can relate to them.I have only one complaint and that is I would have loved a lite more dialogue not only between the two main characters but with the supporting cast. With that said I say pick this story up because I have a feeling the Men of the Lucky Lou are going to be a force to be reckoned with.
Never read this author before but am SOOO glad I found her. I will be checking out her other books. This is a great story about a very alpha male and an independent woman whom has no qualms with his dominance. She is self assured enough to know how to handle him while still letting him be the man. Nice to know someone else understand e the balance.
Wow, that's all i can say. This book was so good i barely ate my lunch and was late coming back. Darn near missed a conference call. Xavier is my type of man. Alysia (love the spelling) pegged him correctly as the 'strong silent type'. She is no wilting flower or pushover either. Great book with true grown folks!
This was a good wholesome story love it. Some things could have been explained more like how a black family could own a ranch in Montana that had been in his family for generations?
I gave this book 5 stars because it had everything I enjoyed reading in books stubborn black women who knows love and don't fight it so much but won't allow themselves to be runner over.
Nice quick read with a happily ever after! Although the story was short, there were a few unexpected developments that were revealed that I never saw coming.
Xavier finally got the love and family he had been hoping for. This was a fun and loving story with family being more than blood and love stronger than hate. Looking forward to read Asa and Ross' story.
