I have a feeling the translations didn’t sell well despite the good reception it had in Japan (it came out with more volumes) so they stopped translating it. This was a heartwarming manga about two dads just trying to raise their kids and go on with their lives. I really like their interactions with their kids and how the manga is also centered around food.

Read Vol.1-4. I believe there are also 8 other volumes after this one, but unfortunately it seems they haven't translated this series in a while so I'll be reviewing based on the first four volumes.

This is a fun story about two single fathers co-parenting their children. A large part of the story is also Papa and Oyaji's cooking journey. It is nice seeing the different foods they're able to cook up each chapter. (Definitely made me hungry at times...) Also, I was quite surprised by how much depth there are to all the characters. All their actions and personalities make sense; they aren't just randomly placed to fill up a cliche slice-of-life role. My favorite part is definitely seeing how the children, especially our main two kids, Airi and Seiichiro, process their emotions and interact with one another. Based on my experience taking care of and teaching younger kids, these depictions are pretty realistic!

My only complaint is the high school girl noticeably falling in love with Sengoku. Is that really a necessary plot point? I know this type of thing often happens in Japanese manga but it is kind of tiring... gets to a point.

But anyways I do recommend this manga. There is a distinguishable plot but that's not what makes it notable. Like most other slice-of-life stories, what this manga is best at is its cozy vibes and wholesome interactions between characters. I wouldn't say it's the most memorable slice-of-life comic I've read, but I think it can be very comforting.

These books are such an overload of cuteness and I want to eat all the food... I hope the rest of the volumes eventually get translations in English. They're a delight to read.
