This is one of those stories where you are like: yes.
I am a bit over all the shoujo manga nowadays. it's always the same fucking thing.
This isn't shoujo per se. It has darker themes, such as marriage, divorce, cheating, starting over and yet there is humour, romance and all the cute things that make shoujo awesome.
Also...the art is just fucking sublime. All characters are so so lovely and interesting and multifaceted.
I am against the romance in general considering they have a ten year age gap, but I think that hopefully when it is dealt with, it will be in a sufficient manner.
As a person who is sleeved out by the 10 year age gaps in mangas and books, I can attest that I did no feel disgusted here at all.

My heart is stolen by josei manga again! I love this! I know there's the age gap and everything but I'm just amazed at how the author played the scenes. It's actually interesting, more into comedic vibe rather than romantic. Made me think about Gokusen's texture as a josei manga too. It's actually a fun read so I can't wait to read the future volumes. Seriously, you wouldn't get a bit revolted or something.

I've read about 30 chapters of this series, but I don't think I'll continue. The art is nice and the characters are interesting, but I can't get past that I'm supposed to be rooting for a romance to blossom between a high schooler and a 27 year old divorcee. Age gaps can work and if we moved their ages up 3 or 4 years I might feel differently, but this just feels icky.

Molto carino! Lui da sbattergli la testa al muro, lei una sfortuna dietro l'altra. È chiaro che lui vive una brutta situazione emotiva e in qualche modo deve sopravvivere. I disegni sono molti carini, anche se ogni tanto il tratto diviene più elementare, meno espressivo. Curiosa di sapere come prosegue la storia!

Hayame ha 27 anni, è sposata e conduce una vita apparentemente tranquilla. Almeno fino a quando non viene a galla il tradimento del marito (e qui mi sorge spontanea una domanda: ma che ti sposi a fare, se non sei capace di tenertelo nei pantaloni?,?), che le chiede il divorzio. E così, la vita tranquilla di Hayame va a farsi benedire: la poverina raccoglie le sue cose e se ne va di casa, viene scippata e si ritrova a vivere da senzatetto in un parco. Zero soldi, zero cibo. A dispetto della situazione molto difficile, lei cerca di tenere duro. È in questo contesto che Hayame diventa oggetto di "interesse" di un ragazzetto di 17 anni, chiaramente benestante, un bulletto che si diverte a trattare in maniera strafottente tutti quelli che lui considera come esseri inferiori. Peraltro, Hayame e Issei si erano già incontrati qualche giorno prima, mentre lui e i suoi amichetti stavano bullizzando un compagno e Hayame l'aveva rimesso al suo posto, visto che la donna ha poca tolleranza per questo tipo di atteggiamenti. Insomma, i due non sono proprio partiti con il piede giusto e Hayame non ha alcuna intenzione di rinunciare alla sua dignità nemmeno in una situazione di estrema indigenza. E così Issei cambia tattica: la invita a casa, la fa mangiare e poi le propone un gioco un po' strano, "il gioco della vita reale". Con una certa diffidenza, i due iniziano a convivere e dedicarsi alle attività del gioco...
Allora, Issei è davvero perfido: ha proprio delle uscite da bullo da quattro soldi, soprattutto quando si diverte a giocare con la disperazione dei senzatetto. Figlio di una famiglia estremamente benestante, mi dà l'aria di essere un ragazzo solo, abituato ad essere avvicinato da gente interessata al suo cognome e al suo patrimonio. Non so se questo influenzi il suo modo di comportarsi, ma spero di vedere presto un miglioramento, perché, ora come ora, è insopportabile.
Hayame è una donna pratica, con poca tolleranza per i bulli e per gli arroganti. Per colpa di quell'idiota del marito, finisce per trovarsi in una situazione assurda e disperata. Issei e il suo stupido "gioco" rappresentano, almeno per ora, l'unica possibilità che ha di vivere con un tetto sopra la testa. Mi aspetto un confronto con l'ex e spero che la sua presenza smussi certi lati del carattere di Issei.
Comunque sia, non male come primo volume, anche se il protagonista maschile non è propriamente un mostro di simpatia. Vediamo cosa succede nel volume 2.

Uhhhh I don't understand why this manga has such low ratings when I actually found it quite enjoyable?? I mean yeah I guess the whole "do this to lessen your debt gambling thingy" is kinda weird but I thought the story otherwise was pretty good. I think the characters have lots of room to grow and I would love to see more (character and maybe a bit of romance) development between the leads. Plus, I actually like the art style too. Overall, a good read for me. Feel free to check this one out.

No me llamaba la atención porque no soy fanático del age-gap, pero superó mis expectativas. Divertido e incluso realista, tanto que a veces me identificaba con ciertas preocupaciones (sobre el futuro) de los personajes

November 7, 2024Crazy story of 10 year age gap couple getting together. Finally finished it and couldn’t believe all the crazy antagonists and the drama that happens in it. Took so long to get back to it to finish it. The main couple love didn’t feel ‘real’/they were in love for me, and also I am biased against age gap. Liked his older brother couple more/supported it. And they end the story with a time skip, to show a happy ending in the future of them which I despised. I did not need to know that they have a kid like that. And terrible writing to end the story in general. Read the spin-off and bonus extras too. Liked all the girls characters. I felt like the drama of the age gap conflict felt so weak to me. I’m struggling to get into firefly wedding bc art style and story? But read all of this. Crazy how my mind works

Je n’ai vraiment pas été emballée par ce premier tome.
Un personnage masculin exécrable, vraiment le stéréotype du jeune gars riche qui ne sait pas quoi faire de son temps et de son argent. J’appuie sur le stéréotype parce qu’il semble y avoir plus derrière le personnage que ce que l’on aperçoit à travers ce tome
La personnage féminine semble avoir des problèmes de colères qu’elle tente de gérer du coup on se retrouve avec des réactions de sa part assez virulente
Gros point qui me chiffonne c’est la différence d’âge la fmc a 27 ans et le mmc 17, bon il ne se passe strictement rien entre les deux personnages mais en sachant que l’histoire va tendre vers de la romance je ne suis pas super à l’aise avec l’idée donc bon on verra bien le déroulé de l’histoire 🤔

I literally felt like I needed to smack my head to ensure I don't throw my tablet while reading this god awful series. The ML is an absolute douche even if he is supposed to act "nice to her cause she had a terrible life with being a divorcée". Yeah girl, just get a normal job and don't rely on ML, he's not worth being your man. He's clearly toxic....

Interesting, but rather cruel premise.
A woman finds out her husband cheated on her. They decide to get a divorce, someone robs her and she ends up homeless. She ends up basically becoming a jester for a rich jerk of a teenager.
With how cruel he is, I don’t know that I could continue the series.

3 stelle perché non voglio sbilanciarmi prima di leggere i prossimi volumi, ma....ADORATO.
La storia promette benissimo, i personaggi, nonostamte sia il primo volume, sono già ben caratterizzati.
Questa idea moderna di cenerentola divorziata, cazzuta e piu grande del principe viziato e cinico, è quello che serve a creare una commedia romantica con i fiocchi. Sono proprio curiosa dei seguiti cavolo ahahah

Issei lui; moccioso 17; cinico
Si capisce fin da subito che Hayame è una tipa tosta che non ama le ingiustizie.Ha avuto un'infanzia non bella con alcune difficoltà.
In treno da una lezione a Issei e i suoi amici che bullizzano uno (come succedeva a suo marito), poi torna a casa e mette il marito alle strette perchè sa del tradimento. Vuole perdonarlo, ma lui le chiede il divorzio quindi lei decide di andarsene di casa. In aggiunta, viene pure derubata e finisce a dormire in un parco per 1 settimana con Issei e company che la tormentano.
A fine episodio lui si presenta da lei al parco e le dice di seguirlo.
Le offre un alloggio nella villa in cui vivono lui e il suo autista in cambio di un "passatempo": Issei ha stilato una lista di cose da farle fare che reputa divertenti e per ogni cosa le darà dei soldi. Inizialmente rifiuta perchè pensa sia stupido, ma poi rovina per sbaglio una pergamena da 3 milioni e si sente in dovere di ripagarlo. Prima pensa di trovare un lavoro, ma poi capisce che stare alle sue regole non sarebbe poi cosi male e lo ripagherebbe più in fretta quindi accetta.
La prima cosa da fare x guadagnare 200.000 yen è mettere in imbarazzo la star del giorno in un club d'alta classe. Perciò la fa agghindare e vanno alla festa di questa Megumi (supermodella 22 anni che ha mire su Issei) e lei viene scambiata per la sua frequentazione.
La scena del bagno di Megumi e Hayame fa spaccare ahahah
Quando H. esce dal bagno, Issei le dice che dovrà riferire un messaggio a Megumi e avrà vinto la sfida.
Aggiunge una clausola che le varrà un bonus di altri 200.000 yen. Deve tirare un dado, ogni numero=una parola, e usare la parola nel messaggio da riferire (non mi metterei mai con una *puttana* come te...). Ovviamente Megumi dà in escandescenza e lui la asfalta con parole cattive (anche se è un meccanismo di difesa perché viene costantemente avvicinato per i soldi/famiglia). Hayame allora gli sbatte la faccia nella torta e gli dice che ha esagerato e di rispettare i sentimenti altrui, ma poi Megumi lo smerda ancora tirando in ballo il fatto che è sempre paragonato al fratello che è preferito a lui dai genitori ecc. A questo punto Hayame sbatte la torta in faccia a lei e le dà una lezione di vita.
Non si possono paragonare le persone perché siamo tutti diversi e spetta ad ognuno decidere come vivere la propria vita. Aggiunge per smerdarla del tutto: hai 22 anni e pensi di essere intelligente? Non serve invecchiare se non si matura
(Lui in fondo è rimasto colpito dalla cosa e la apprezza)
Missione di oggi: scattare delle foto in vari posti spaventosi a seconda del numero del dado, ognuna per 200.000 yen (tutto per fargliela pagare per la torta).
Nella casa infestata lui se la fa sotto e lei sembra non star bene (fa molto ridere lui ahahah). Ciò la rende molto simile a una di quelle figure moribonde e spaventose dei film horror e che spaventa ancora di più lui ahahah
(Sono rimasti chiusi in una stanza mentre l'autista andava a prendere la macchina fotografica)
Si mettono mella vasca intanto che aspettano e lei è sempre più fiacca; non è spaventata perché la cosa piu brutta che ha visto è il rossetto trovato nella giacca del marito. Lei si addormenta, lui le mette la felpa per proteggerla dal freddo e le tiene la mano ♡ dopo le confessioni fatte.
Se la carica in spalla e va verso la porta (sfondata dai bidyguard), poi l'autista e i bodyguard la riportano a casa....
Extra: si prende cura di lei e si preoccupa...♡

I just finished this series over one day only! I stayed up late until 6am just to finish this manga and I can say that it is totally worth my time. I once tried to read this before but I had to drop it because of the age-gap (not fan of a minor-adult rs), but it's been quite popular these days, so I gave it an another try -- and yep, I was able to enjoy it!
First, I would like to point out the personality of the ML - it's understandable that he's kind of a j*rk and arrogant, since no one was there for him while growing up, plus, he's young. I get it, he's still in his rebellious stage, and once you read and flip through the pages, you can totally see that he's maturing bit by bit and he is determined to mature just to match the standard of the FL. I like him, he's like a normal spoiled rich ML that we see on every books/movies that changes through time. Some people might find him annoying, but I find his character to be enjoyable.
Not to mention the comedy from this manga, i really like it -- especially the teases of the FL's grandmother with their butler. They're just very supportive and a totally shipper to the couple.
I would also like to mention the other second leads, and third leads maybe? I pity the second lead (the older brother), actually, since he was stucked by his past and wasn't able to succeed with his first love. I actually hoped (at first) that he'll be together with the FL, since this couple actually made sense than the ML and the second lead has more potential (for me) to be the end-game. But I get it that's not possible since the FL.
Well, moving on, I liked the story but I won't say I'm actually attached to it. Still, it's a very interesting manga and the flow of the story is totally enjoyable. The art of the manga looks amazing too. Nothing special was left to me, the manga was okay and enjoyable, but nothing more than that.

Ein Manga der nicht wirklich typisch ist und ich deswegen als sehr erfrischend empfand. Die Zeichnungen sind auch sehr detailreich, was mir an der Kleidung un den verschiedenen Kulissen sehr gefallen hat. Ebenso ist Hayama mir eine sehr sympathische Hauptfigur die zu ihrer Meinung steht und nur das Beste möchte. Sie ist eine Kämpferin und man lernt auch ihre Gefühlswelt etwas kennen. Issei war mir anfangs sehr unsympathisch und arrogant (das ist er weiterhin), aber es gab einige Szenen, in denen angedeutet wurde, dass seine Kindheit doch nicht so perfekt war und er eigentlich ziemlich einsam ist. Ich hoffe, dass sich in den Folgebänden mehr über seine Vergangenheit konzentriert wird und wir eventuell so eine Ahnung bekommen, weswegen er so gemein und negativ geworden ist. Eine Entschuldigung ist dies natürlich trotzdem nicht, aber ich denke (oder hoffe), dass Hayame ihm helfen kann ein besserer Mensch zu werden. Hauptsache wir haben hier eine ordentliche Charakterentwicklung und die treten nicht auf die Stelle. 🤗

Primo volume molto bello. Hayame, 27enne sposata, da un giorno all'altro si ritrova sulla strada, senza un soldo e con un divorzio in corso. Ma l'orgoglio non le permette di tornare sui suoi passi per chiedere aiuto al marito fedifrago. L'incontro-scontro col ricco liceale Issei, dieci anni più giovane di lei, sarà la sua "salvezza"... o forse no?
I capitoli sono un'ottima commistione di divertimento e serietà. Siamo davanti a una protagonista di polso che conquista fin da subito e con la quale si empatizza facilmente. Il giovane coprotagonista maschile invece è un bullo che ostenta volutamente un brutto carattere. Ma la sua ostilità e antipatia nascondono qualcosa che, per ora, ci è stato fatto solo intuire. Entrambi i personaggi reggono bene il ritmo della storia e, tra un ceffone, ricatti e una torta in faccia, tra loro si è già creata una curiosa alchimia.
I manga in cui lui è molto più giovane di lei sono rari e questo rende l'opera davvero interessante e diversa da ciò che attualmente propone il mercato. Sono state gettate le basi per la costruzione di una storia d'amore non scontata, speriamo di non rimanere delusi!

The story begins when Hayame Imai gets cheated and divorced by her husband. She starts searching for a house to stay but gets robbed instead and starts living homeless. She bumps into a rich, brat and jerk high school boy, Kataoka Issei, who gives her some money (technically), but only if she plays along with his games.
Their first meeting doesn't start in a good way, and I feel really humiliated for her (getting second-hand embarrassment sometimes). There is a ten-year age gap between the two (Hayame is 27 while Issei is 17). I don't mind the age gap, but I really hate that brat.
I don't care if there will be some ✨️character development✨️ I'll maintain my dislike for him due to his behavior as that asshole character. In the last few chapters, the author choose to gaslight the reader by justifying his actions and making him look like some other tsundere manga guy, and he is not very awful.

J’avoue c’est la promotion de Glénat sur les réseaux sociaux qui m’a donné envie de lire Promise Cinderella. Je n’avais pas lu le résumé, je ne savais pas trop à quoi m’attendre mais le « tête à claques vs tête de mule » tout comme le titre du manga. Lors de mon dernier passage chez mon libraire, le tome un était disponible, donc j’ai sauté le pas.
J’étais été pas mal dubitative durant la moitié de ma lecture… Comme je ne savais pas trop à quoi m’attendre, je n’étais clairement pas préparé à ce que j’ai découvert. C’est pas crédible pour un sou déjà ! XD Mais c’est surtout le côté cynique et la violence psychologique qui m’ont un peu dérangé. Clairement Promise Cinderella n’est pas à mettre entre toutes les mains. Et j’espère que certains ne se diront pas que l’attitude d’Issei est à reproduire. Dans le genre petit con prétentieux, il s’impose. Aucun respect pour autrui et c’est quelque chose qui a toujours le don de me faire sortir de mes gonds… Donc on partait plutôt mal.
Et puis, je ne sais pas… Il y a eu ce petit déclic à un moment donné. Issei n’est au final qu’un petit garçon qui n’a visiblement pas reçu d’amour, que l’on compare à un aîné plus doué et qui n’est apprécié que pour l’argent de ses parents. Certes, ça ne justifie pas son comportement, mais ça prend sens. Un enfant qui n’arrive pas à exprimer ce qu’il ressent à tendance à mordre par exemple ou frapper. Et aussi incroyable que cela puisse paraître, notre jeune prétentieux a fini par devenir un chouia attachant.
Hayame y est pour beaucoup bien entendu. Sa situation n’a rien d’enviable et elle est prise au piège face à Issei. Elle se plie à son petit jeu pour une question de survie mais on sent aussi qu’elle a de la répartie à revendre et que c’est quelqu’un d’intelligent. La dynamique est d’abord étrange et un peu malsaine, mais plus on avance, plus on sent tout le potentiel que Promise Cinderella peut avoir.
Donc, je vais poursuivre. J’espère que le tome deux sera sur la même lignée que la moitié que j’ai apprécié ici. Si c’est le cas, franchement, je pourrais bien aller jusqu’au bout de la série. Comme je le disais, on sent le potentiel, et Issei a une marge d’évolution assez large. A voir donc.

J’ai adoré!
Mais quel bon début!
L’histoire ce démarque des shojos traditionnels avec Hayame, une femme dans la fin vingtaine avec un sale caractère et qui tient dur comme fer à ses valeurs… même si c’est pour en baver en retour. Et ce début d’histoire, dur et sévère mais avec enfin une porte de sortie: le jeune Issei au cœur de pierre qui lui mène la vie dur en échange d’un toit sur la tête et de repas réconfortant. Mais pas gratuit, han?! Oh non! En échange d’épreuves toutes sournoises. Nous suivons nos deux protagonistes dans des situations inusitées mais captivantes à lire! Tout ça avec un petit fond de romance? Oui mais très slow burn! Je veux dire, Pourquoi Issei viendrait en aide à une femme 10 fois son âge? Je vous laisse lire l’histoire pour comprendre!
Oui, une autre histoire d’amour avec un age-gap! Je suis plus que charmé!
Les dessins sont vraiment jolies! J’ai adoré prendre le temps de regarder les dessins et les expressions des personnages à plusieurs reprises pendant ma lecture!

Gli shoujo manga mi hanno sempre accompagnata sin dai primi tempi in cui ho iniziato a leggere manga. Nell'ultimo periodo però, specialmente negli ultimi anni, crescendo il mio gusto personale è cambiato tanto da spingermi a non leggerne più ma quando ho visto il drama di quest'opera, me ne sono così innamorata che ovviamente leggere il manga era obbligo: certo, ci sono tantissimi cliché, cose scontate, ma al tempo stesso il manga ha diverse innovazioni che lo rendono interessante e accattivante, portandoti alla curiosità di leggere anche il secondo (spero sia così anche per i successivi ovviamente). Ho amato che la protagonista non fosse la solita scema di turno ma avesse un carattere risoluto, e al tempo stesso ho amato Issei che seppur tremendamente scontato e bad boy, ha quel suo perché che lo rende interessante e non odioso.
Un inizio e una lettura, quindi, niente male e che sicuramente farà urlare e sciogliere i cuori di tutte le romantiche!

It was a really roller coaster Josel Manga story. It starts with a 27 girl who got divorced with her husband and had to leave the house. The story involves with the main character girl who starts to work at an inn and the relationship that she had.
This is an eye opening story for me because I have never read a Josei long story with the age gap before. I think the author understands the character and interprets all their meaning through actions very well. Also, once read, you will see that the author planned all the plot from the start because many characters involved around each other.
For me it 4 stars because you can see the character developments of female especially the male. The inn is also nice. All the characters have their own act.
What makes this story interesting for me is about the age gap. Normally, i don’t usually think there is that much problem but you will see the obstacles that come between them well.

Après deux tomes, je confirme: j'aime lire cette histoire.
Parce que l'héroïne a du cran, et qu'elle est aussi très honnête avec ses émotions.
Parce que c'est "politiquement incorrect" avec ce age-gap qui implique Issei 17 ans (mais avouons que, pour l'instant, elle ne lui porte pas ce type d'intérêt).
Parce que ce mariage qui se termine en divorce, avec cette tristesse, cet évitement, cette colère et ses malaises, c'est réaliste.
Parce que le dessin est très beau, avec beaucoup de nuances.
Il y a bien sûr une touche de folie chez ce jeune et ses idées tirées par les cheveux.
Mais il y a aussi une graine de désespoir chez Hayame, qui a touché le fond du baril.
Et la grand-mère...! Ah ah ah! Je sens que les ennuis ne font que commencer!
En vérifiant, j'ai appris que la série s'est terminée en 16 tomes. Et j'étais contente. Ça sera du plaisir pour plus longtemps. Vraiment, j'aime cette série!

Une pauvre âme est tourmentée par des petits caïds, une fille les raquette au couteau afin de venir en aide au gars… « Elle voulait juste l’aider »… Elle écope d’un rappel à la loi.
Hayame (une femme) se fait faire cocu pour ne rien arranger!
Son ex lui demande le divorce « j’aime une autre femme » et elle se barre et en plus se fait chiper son sac ! C’est le fond du fond…
Le caïd qu’elle avait menacé menace de détruire le carton dans lequel elle vit (forcément ! l’immobilier est si cher!) mais Hayame lui met une torgnole.
Or celui-ci est beaucoup plus riche que prévu et il tente encore de l’acheter.
Et c’est là tout l’enjeu du livre, se laisser acheter ou garder sa fierté?!
Issei (le jeune homme riche) déclenche les passions de ces dames. Elles se battent pour lui….
Les rebondissements qui ont lieu (que je tairais pour l’instant) sont un délice!

La trama non mi piace per niente. L'80% di questo volume l'ho odiato, per il restante 20% è stato passabile, sopratutto nel veder quel ragazzino viziato spaventato e sorpreso dal carattere forte della protagonista.
L'age gap non mi piace granchè sinceramente...
Se devo leggere una storia simile (col trope tizia pezzente-ragazzo ricco) sinceramente "Desiderio" è ancora al top per me.
Ho fatto bene a non comprarlo e leggerlo tramite biblioteca. Lo continuerò? Forse...se mi capita di non aver niente da leggere...
