Tachibana Higuchi (樋口 橘, HIGUCHI Tachibana), born 1976-03-16 , is a Japanese manga artist. In year 1996, she first made her debut work in Bessatsu Hana to Yume's 5th issue, entitled 5 Gatsu no Sakura (『5月のサクラ』?).

During an interview with Tokyopop, she gave a detailed account of how she started as a mangaka.

"I first submitted a manga story a while after I graduated from high school. Up until then I was studying for the entrance examinations for the Art University, and as part of that, I sometimes drew manga and four-panel strip comics for fun.

"Because I was conscious of the fact that I had started drawing manga in earnest at a later age, I think my progress during the beginning on drawing and storytelling techniques was fast as I frantically tried to absorb everything I could learn about creating manga. After the serialization of the story began, as I got busy, I was so desperate to submit it on time that I feel that the drawings probably haven’t improved much compared to before. During the serialization of the manga, I think my story telling techniques improved more as I concerned myself with how to catch the attention of the readers, how well one can incorporate what the readers are seeking into the story."

This volume had a really nice ending and a surprise or two along the way--Mikan being able to create an Alice stone among them. Her being a simple, intuitive type might make things difficult now and then, but she's got some sturdy plot armor to protect her when things get too dicey. :)

We've reached the end of the Junior Division arc, and it looks like we'll be heading into a more schooldays-oriented story. Three volumes was quite a while for me to sit through an action-adventure plotline with a lot of predictable beats, though I also appreciate a change in tone and setting now and then.

I have no difficulty seeing Mikan, Natsume and Luca as a throuple... fifteen years after the events in this manga. At their current age, light hints of future romance are more than enough.

Absolutamente increíble.
De verdad que la rabia que siento con lo que le hicieron al Natsume es inexpresable.
Por otra parte la escena de la Mikan plantándole cara a Persona... Casi me da algo. Al final te lo ponen como que es un poco víctima pero llegó un punto en el que estaba carcomido por el odio como dice el profesor aquel que es el padre de Mikan y la cosa es que la escuela se aprovechó de manera basta y el siguiente en esa línea era Natsume 100% (la idea almenos).
Me alegro de que se haya solucionado todo lo de la Aoi porque me ha sabido muy mal x ella y la escena del reencuentro con el padre... Que bonito jo :(
Que por cierto, el cerd0 del director de primaria dice algo de qué tal palo tal astilla refiriendose a Natsume estoy bastante segura de que hace referencia a la madre de este que murió involucrada en algo contra la escuela... Miedito y más aún porque ahora los tiene en el punto de mira.
Enfin, no he hablado mucho de la Mikan pero me ha representado mucho en varios paneles y me alegro de que haya podido salir bien de todo, solo hace falta que entrene el alice de su madre y ya podrá cargarse el colegio con los demás (si, estoy manifestando). U goo girl!

Un gran volumen, me encantaron las escenas de acción, los diálogos, la fluidez de las escenas, todo muy bien.

Mikan como personaje, me va gustando cada vez más, esas grandiosas escenas que tuvo, su sacrificio y su compromiso con sus amigos, ademas de ese segundo Alice que me resulta más interesante que el primero.

Pěkná kresba, které se dá bohužel hodně věcí vytknout. Občas měly nějaké části těla divnou velikost, jež se prostě nedala přehlédnout, protože to bilo do očí. Také se zde vyskytoval výškový nepoměr mezi různými věkovými skupinami. Taktéž se mi zdálo mnoho postav velice vzhledově podobných, takže se pak hůře rozpoznávali a bylo jednoduché se v tom ztrácet. U tohohle mohu ale přimhouřit oči, jelikož tu bylo charakterů opravdu požehnaně. Abych tady nezmiňovala jenom zápory, tak musím říci, že se mi hodně líbily zjednodušené kresby, design školních uniforem a ostatního oblečení.

Příběh se mi líbil, a dokonce mě některé momenty dojaly až k slzám. Pomyslela jsem si, že je moc hezké vidět něco tak nezkaženého. S odstupem času jsem ale k celému ději o dost skeptičtější. A překvapilo mě, kolik vad jsem byla schopna nalézt. Avšak ještě divnější bylo, že jsem si příběh byla přesto schopna docela užít.

První vadou je věk postav. Nemyslím tím, že je špatné, že jim bylo okolo deseti, ale to, že na svůj věk byli v některých ohledech až moc vyspělí. Řekla bych, že většina ve všech ohledech, protože především hlavní hrdinka měla tendence se k někomu pořád lísat. A kdyby nebyla tak nízcí, klidně bych prohlásila, že jsou na střední škole. Především když vezmu to, jak byli Mikan a Natsume pokročilý ve svém vztahu. Jako neřekla bych, že vášnivé líbání patří k desetiletým dětem. Ke všemu když se ani šesnáctiletí (nebo kolik jim bylo :D) nedostali tak daleko.

Dalším mínusem byla až přílišná zamotanost příběhu. Což bych nebrala obvykle jako vadu, ale tady to bylo až přespříliš. Začalo to někdy za dvacátou kapitolou. Od té doby jsem byla mnohokrát zmatená a nevěděla jsem, o co jde. Když k tomu navíc připočítáme to, jak moc si jednotlivé postavy byly podobné. A za druhé mě to ani nezajímalo, jelikož nějaký svůj příběh měl skoro každý. To je normálně dobrá věc, neboť to dodává příběhu na důvěryhodnosti. Tady to akorát zbytečně natahovalo příběh o nezajímavé informace o nudný charakterech, a když vezmete v úvahu počet postav... Je to pak úmorné.

Vadou číslo 3 jsou nezajímavé postavy, když nepočítám tedy ty hlavní, ty jsem si velice oblíbila. Ale ostatní mi byli úplně ukradení, a tak jsem přímo trpěla, když se tam objevovaly bubliny se strašně dlouhým textem. Ke všemu když se tam akorát řešily vztahy a jejich zamotanost. Tenhle a tamten miloval támhletu, ta milovalo tamtoho a tak dále. Tím se potom tak nějak vyřešilo všechno, což bylo dost neuvěřitelné. Ta láska se objevovala vážně všude, až to začínalo být nesnesitelné, jelikož nemůže být příčinou a průvodcem všech událostí.

Poslední výrazné mínus je, že nikdo nebyl ve skutečnosti zápornou postavou. Ze všech záporných postav se staly kladné, a nebo byly ukázány hrozně moc dobré "důvody," proč tomu tak je. Pokud teda nebudeme brát jako záporáky ty lidi, kteří stojí za Alice's Academy, neboť ti jediný byli zlí, neboť děti v ní vlastně uvěznili. Ale jelikož ani jeden z nich nebyl ukázán, tak se to nedá počítat.

Výše uvedená věc mi opravdu vadila. Vážně nemám ráda, takhle zkažený lidi, co myslí jen na sebe a na to, jak získat, co nejvíce peněz. Také si mi nelíbí to, jak ostatními opovrhují. Nechápu, proč jim ani nedovolili se vídat se svými rodiči. Jsem překvapená, že už dávno neudělali převrat. Protože bojovat proti zlu zevnitř, většinou moc nefunguje.

Abych jen příběhu něco nevytýkala, tak sem napíšu i nějaké klady. Nebo se o to aspoň pokusím. :D Největší plus bylo působení některých situací na mé emoce. Někdy v průběhu jsem byla opravdu emotivní, dokonce jsem uronila i pár slz. A u scének s Mikan a Natsumem jsem se culila jak malá holka. :D Pár věcí mě tu i pobavilo. A nic dalšího mě nenapadá. Ups...

Konec mi nijak zvlášť radost neudělal, jelikož je tam spoustu nelogických věcí, což mě štve. A celkově mi to přišlo celé divné

Anglické obálky se mi líbí o dost více než ty japonské. Vypadají víc elegantně a vznešeně. Na některých obálkách se mi ale nelíbí kresba postav/y.

I love their relationship n helping their friends in need. Sakura saves their friends from persona who attack their friends n hurting them. Poor mikan, hotaru n her older brother save Mikan with everything they do, to heal n save her in the hospital.Poor Nobara, she tried to warn n saved natsume from persona n she been control by persona.

J'aime bien le "interné de force", ce qui résume bien ce qu'est cette école pour enfants Alice. L'histoire continue d'être de plus en plus mature, l'histoire d'Aoi est si touchante !! Mieux que le 11 en terme de narration, l'arc du jardin floral se termine bien. L'évolution de Mikan est juste incroyable, dingue tout ça !

I loved this book! The relationship between Natsume, Ruka and Mikan is great and seems to keep evolving. It was a great volume of this series and I can't wait to read the next volume in the series.

Eine meiner absolut liebsten Manga-Reihen, weil es nicht nur einen tollen Spannungsbogen besitzt, sondern weil die Charaktere sich auch Band um Band weiter entwickeln. Erwachsen werden, dazu lernen. Super schön dargestellt und wirklich angenehmer Zeichenstil. Inzwischen gibts auch einen Anime dazu, der aber im Vergleich zum Manga nicht so gut geworden ist und einen eher älteren Eindruck macht obwohl Alice Academy ein aktueller Manga ist.

The series finally comes close to living up to its potential as Mikan and friends confront the secret of the basement and Natsume's fate is revealed. A strong volume that, while it doesn't quite make the slog through the previous eleven volumes worth it, touches and entertains.

Rasanya agak gimana gitu. Ujug-ujug mereka ketemu Aoi. Tiba-tiba si Mikan bisa Stealing alice. Padahal sebelum-sebelumnya gak ada petunjuk kalau dia bisa alice itu.
