Hiroyuki Takei (武井宏之 Takei Hiroyuki) is a Japanese manga artist, best known as the creator of the manga and anime Shaman King. His brother, Hirofumi Takei (武井宏文) is also a manga-ka.
It's time for Yoh's team's first fight in the tournament. It was nice but as always the story going to continue in the next volume so let's go and Keep on Reading.
I have always loved comics, and I have I can. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and hope always to love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.
Yoh Asakura not only sees dead people, he talks and fights with them. too. That's because Yoh is a shaman, a traditional holy man able to interact with the spirit world. Yoh is now a competitor in the “Shaman fight," a tournament held every 500 years to decide who will become the Shaman King and shape humanity’s future. Dropped (literally) into the wide-open space of the American west, Yoh and company make their way toward the Patch Village, Joined along the way by Lyserg, an English shaman with a vendetta against Hao. Soon after their arrival at the Patch village. Yoh-kun and his friends see the Great Spirit itself and stand in awe of its limitless power. They also learn that if they want to compete in the Shaman fight, they need to enter in teams of three... so they seek the help of Faust VIII, an old enemy, and Joco, a new friend. The third match of the tournament brings with it a shocking revelation; their missing friend. Lyserg, has turned up... and he's Joined forces with the X-Laws!
Ever since Amazon linked up with comiXology, so that readers could get comics, graphic novels and manga on their kindles, I have been meaning to check out what they had. Under Amazon Prime Reading you get a number of titles for free and this comiXology original is one such series.
The epic saga continues with Yoh, "Wooden Sword" Ryu and Faust facing their first battle in the knock-out three man team tournament stage of the Shaman Fight. With Manta and Anna there to cheer them on can they come out victorious. Can Yoh deliver his promised on hit win?
Easy to read and engaging, I enjoyed this and it felt just like reading a paperback manga, even on Kindle, as you have to click through the book backwards. A nice little touch. A solid 4 stars again as the story ramps up the action!
It's finally time for Team Funbari Onsen (Yoh, Ryu, and Faust) to show everyone what they're made of. What does that mean? They basically get on stage up against the Icemen to flex their incredible knew Oversoul. While it is quite impressive what they were each able to showcase thanks to their undisclosed training with Anna, it was too quick and too big to give the battle much significance. This sudden change in their personality was a bit too drastic to really immerse me but at least it's clear that the objective wasn't to demonstrate mangaka Hiroyuki Takei's ability to draw battles but to take a shortcut that will accelerate things towards the much more fun battles to come.
Seems a bit late to have Jeanne on the cover here. Or also early, if we can assume she'll appear again.
So the point of the chapters collected herein are that there are these ice-using Shamans, one Irish, one Scandinavian, and one Russian. They are set to fight Team Funbari Onsen (Yoh, Ryu, Faust), but are first introduced by fucking with Team The Ren (Ren, Chocolove, Horohoro). Horohoro tries to retaliate in the fight Team "Icemen" pick, but they prove their own ice powers are far superior to Horohoro's level, or something.
In short, Team "Icemen" are set up as "jobbers," displaying strength to hold Team The Ren at bay, so we'll be able to see in comparison just how strong Team Funbari Onsen have become.
Everyone's dabbled in the Asakura family spellbook. Faust decides he can be with Eliza at Anna's onsen, Ryu decides the onsen in his "Best Place," both decide to fight for Yoh as Shaman King. Faust can turn Eliza into a giant devil-nurse. Ryu can turn Tokageroh into a giant dragster with the Orochi snakes atop it. Yoh can turn Amidamaru into a big fucking sword. All of it looks cool.
Yoh and his partners Faust and Ryu are up against a powerful team of icemen that Oyamada believes could give them a real run for their money! Takei will give readers thrills and chills in this fast-paced entry to the "Shaman King" series. Team Yoh is going to have to find a way to thaw out the icemen if they hope to take down their opponents!
I really like how we get to see Faust and Ryu show how much they’ve grown in power, really cool abilities in this fight, but the big negative is that they establish that Yoh is gonna win the fight in one blow so we’re just waiting for it essentially and we get that hit at the end so the fight is going to end at the start of the next volume. I thought they would make this fight short but it went a whole volume and it ain’t over yet -.-

It is finally time to see Yoh, Ryu and Faust fight as a team! The techniques to use other people to show just how great the protagonist has grown is used in this volume. It is not painful, but very much predictable and flows the way you would expect it to go. I don't talk about it often, but the Asakura family spellbook is another technique used by Hiroyuki Takei (artist and writer) to upgrade and keep adding new wrinkles of powers to face off against new threats within the Shaman Fight. With the action sequences and the style this volume flows very smoothly and quickly. This book has a certain flow to it which one could take for granted, but it is special and to be enjoyed.
It's time for Yoh's team to have their first team battle. Their competitors show their strength against Horohoro and Joco, to make it seem like our protagonists team are going to have a tough time, only for Team Funbari Hot Springs to show their stuff. It feels like a lot of set-up, but it's a pretty cool piece of set-up.
This might just be my fav volume of them all. Yoh has grown do much even though he's still that laid back kinda guy. I never thought Ryu would come this far but here we are and I'm liking Faust's character a lot.. a good volume
Me gustó mucho.😌
This volume is basically Yoh's team fight. And it's weird as hell. The whole volume is about an idiotic fight with shamans from the north and practically they don't fight, just showing their power ups. It's really weird when put in a volume perspective...
4/5: this was a bit boring, the whole volumes was the just flexing on those ice shamans. like we knew mc was winning but the fight could have been interesting?
Много приказки, голямо хвалене. Опонентите на Йо определено имат голяма уста, но явно не достатъчно голямо количество фурйоку. Новата форма на Токагеро е плачевно смешна, макар и съдържаща огромна сила.
Yoh and his "Funbari Hotsprings" team have their first battle of the official Shaman Fight, and the results of their two months' training is on full display. Great art, the story works well, advancing both the worldbuilding and overall plotline centering on Yoh's battles and character development.
