When a Power Broker is threatened, she knows who to call… a Brownstone.
Alison and her team have to travel across the world to protect Abigail Wilson, CEO of Aeternum, as she negotiates for mining rights of a mysterious crystal. Drysi Jones comes along for the ride.
The simple escort mission turns deadly. They aren’t the only ones interested in the crystal’s power.
Dark wizards attack… again. Haven’t they given up yet?
Nothing like getting tested by a hail of ammo to see if Drysi is a good fit for Brownstone Security.
Together, they must discover the truth behind the crystal’s origin and stop the devious bastards from fulfilling their dastardly plot.
Failure is never an option for this Drow princess.
Judith Berens is a figment of your imagination, made up of the fevered brainpower of Michael Anderle and Martha Carr, fueled by a lot of people helping them out - as well as all of you, The Fans. Great stories mixed with a lot of great readers equals more adventures to follow.
Judith Berens and Martha Carr expand the Alison Brownstone series to Book 6, with The Dark Princess, in which a Power Broker's murdered and Alison's called in to help. Brownstone Security is tested to the limit while providing security for Abigail Wilson, CEO of Aeternum and new team recruit is given a baptism of (gun) fire as things get tense and then deadly. Their opponents are also contending for a dark crystal with mystery powers - and they don't care who they kill to obtain it. Drow Princess Alison's patience is tested to the limit later, while hanging out with her BFF Hana - why? Who is Jericho Cartwright and how do Alison and Hana meet him? What happens that puts all three in danger? Why does Alison give Hana her healing potions? What is the physical anomaly in Alison, that Jericho witnesses as she leaves the location?
A fascinating tale, though sadly too brief and ending in a cliffhanger, The Dark Princess will be a great addition to your fantasy adventure bookshelves!
Once again, this series is highly entertaining, with this book being particularly so.
There's a really good mix between the action, inherent to this series, and the character development that's also such a good part of the storylines, here - along with a couple of surprises along the way, - so book six is very much an entertaining read.
I love how details are being slowly revealed as the series goes on, and how each book seems to build so well on the one before it.
I rarely look at other reviews in series that I'm reading, mainly because I'm always surprised when a reviewer states that a book is boring, or doesn't have enough action for them.
But, I've found that, the older I get, the happier I am with the kind of mix of action, and character/scene building, that I find so much within the pages of these books - even an all-action book could get boring if there's no actual substance behind it! Lol
To me, this book had plenty of that, and I look forward to reading book seven next: 'The Queen's Daughter'.
Once again, the title alone intrigues me! Lol
So, I'll finish this review, then make a start on book seven and, once I'm done reading that, I'll catch you on the flip side, to tell you what I think of it!
A great series with a great cast of characters in plenty of action. Allison brownstone series comes from a series called the school of necessary magic. It is one series in a group of multiple series in the same magical universe. Now the Allison brownstone series is 10 years in the future from all of those series. Allison has graduated from high school and college and moved on with her life. Characters from her past at school as well as your father James brownstone and mother Shay Carson to writer occasionally appear in her new series in the future as well. I was in Brownstown has opened up her own security agency in Seattle and occasionally picks up brownies like her father. She is still battling dark wizards and saving the world a bit at a time. A fun and entertaining action-packed urban fantasy/action adventure series. You will not be disappointed with any of these multitude of Series. Check them all out
Not sure why, more often than not lately, why I seem to wait for the third of fourth time I read a book before I get off my backside to leave a review - usually I just can't wait the next in the series or lmbpn have another book in another of their seemingly endless storyline's that I can't wait to read. Anyway this is another great read in the brownstone family saga. I cant think of a better way to fill out my days weeks and months of covid distancing and curfew (Melb, Aus).
Alison Brownstone is her father's daughter...tough, resourceful and with a kick-ass team to back her up. The story pulls you along and compells you to keep reading until your eyes get bleary, lol. Highly recommended read, especially if the Oriceran universe has become familiar. Or, if you just want to loose yourself in a good saga.
I've read this series, and many other books in the Oricerun universe, and continue to be entertained. It's very hard to write a series longer than 3-4 books and maintain the intensity to keep readers interested, bet but Berens, Carr, et al, have done a terrific job. This series has kept me up past my regular bedtime on more than one occasion. How interesting has it been for me? I've already downloaded the next book ;-)
Alison is driven to protect. She prioritizes her friends and innocents over herself. The Dark Wizards don't understand her and underestimate her. A protection job to a mysterious island turns out to be more dangerous than she thought. I like the action, humor, and intrigue. She finds out more about the Dark Wizards. I look forward to the next book.
Allison and company get whupped upon but not beaten,
Fast moving in the Brownstone tradition. Just doing the job. Whether it's catching bad guys, looking out for friends, or handling sticky situations for paying clients, it still manages to make a profit. A kicks A and gets names.
GREAT GOOD FUN! Judith B. adds another layer of prime Brownstone Badness to the list!
Anybody who likes magic, action adventure, good characters will enjoy this book. The character development keeps on growing, the only thing I ask is please bring back Drysi I enjoy her character and I think she would be a great addition to Allison‘s team. Going to read the next book.
No spoilers, but this book is full of unexpected plots and adventures! You will be totally surprised by one and caught up in the other. Alison and company fight it all together and their bond only grows stronger. You do not want to miss out on this gripping story. Keep them coming authors, and we will keep reading! 5 stars!
This was a nice continuation of Amazon's series. Our main characters kept developing, and we do find out more about the Welsh Ms. Jones, and our favorite Ancient Drow. Nice wrap up It gently drifts to the last page with a hook for the next book without the usual slam into the back cover demanding the next book be started now.
Their Cover artist derserves a medal. This was a great book and I really enjoy this cast of characters, we got some new faces too. I love this series so much, I flew through this! I wish that we had more characters from Alison's past appear, like how does she not cross paths with any of them?
Once again this book has me captivated. It’s nice that Izzy I around again despite being in hiding still. I can’t imagine having to hide in order to save either my life or the life of a family member. Looking forwards to seeing what comes next.
I highly recommend this entire series. The only complaint i might have is that i have to wait for the next book. I hope everyone enjoys this as much as i.
Really enjoyed this book. The story flowed so well and we saw more of Allison with her team as well as one on one. The action story was great and i loved the outcome with Drysi.
I have to say that I didn't see it coming the way things turned out. The development of each individual draws you into the saga, they become real with all their own faults.
More bad guys who want to kill Alison and she kills them all. Now there's a new group called the Seventh Order she just found out about and she's going after them.
Alison learns that sometimes even your gut feelings can be wrong. That highlights the way this tale goes and its a good adventure, with lots of action of course. Again a hit in a great series.
