In the second novel in the Wildflower House series, the author of The Memory of Butterflies reminds us that to achieve our dreams, we must first open our hearts.

Kara Hart suffered overwhelming heartache when she lost her mother and husband, and her father’s sudden death might be the blow that breaks her—unless she turns her grief into purpose. She’ll finish renovating his Victorian mansion in rural Virginia, but with her own twist. She’ll turn the old house into a creative retreat for artists and writers.

Kara has never tackled a project this big alone, and she’s not ready to open her heart to others for help. But the locals open their hearts to her—including two who have the potential to be more than friends. She tells herself she doesn’t need romance or distractions, but maybe that’s exactly what she needs. When her former best friend reenters Kara’s life, it could be the distraction that finally destroys her—or heals her.

The tragedies in Kara’s life have damaged her self-confidence, but she presses forward, gradually lowering her protective walls and allowing others in little by little. Will bringing Wildflower House back to life and freeing her own creative spirit also allow her to open her heart to hope and happiness—and maybe even love?

With her unique flair for depicting the Virginia countryside she loves, Grace Greene expands the story of Kara Hart’s journey to rebuild her life after a series of terrible losses. The remarkable cast of characters will delight, and the plot will keep the reader guessing about family ties and hidden dreams until the very end. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advanced copy of this book for my honest opinion.

Wildflower Hope is book two in the series and I jumped for joy when it became available because I loved book one so much! It can be a stand alone, but the first one, as with the second, was so beautifully written, you would miss out on a lovely heart touching story!
In book two we find Kara reeling from another loss and she has decided to keep her dad's big rambling house and make a retreat for artists. Lots of tears, laughter, friendships, love and discovery of secrets ensue!
I loved how this was a story about her, sometimes painful, self discovery of who she is and what she wants! Almost like a rebirth! The budding romance was so sweet to watch! Grace Greene 's writing is magic. I got involved from the first sentence and had problems tearing myself away from the book to do anything else! The descriptions of the surroundings were so real, I felt I were there. The characters were very likeable and I could identify with them.
The book earns a 5 from this grateful fan and I am in wait for the next story!

Wildflower Hope tells the story of a young woman’s journey through grief, finding forgiveness and peace in order to move on with her life. Kara’s vision for the house her father bought just before he died begins to come to fruition—as the house goes through its repairs and renovations, so does Kara’s heart. The author does such a wonderful job of bringing Kara and the other characters to life. Kara feels like an old friend, someone I feel empathy for as she struggles to move on with her life. This is the second book in the Wildflower Hope series, and although the author does a great job providing readers back story, I encourage you to read the first book, Wildflower Heart, before reading this novel.

"What the brain knows and what the heart hopes for are often different."

Wildflower Hope.....I have just experienced another emotional and heart tugging journey in the life of the main character, Kara Hart. Kara has had so many tragedies take place in her life that she's struggling to make sense of it all. What is the way forward in her life after the loss of so much?

I love the theme of wildflowers in this series. They are resilient and able to overcome difficult conditions. They grow where they are planted and bloom in spite of adverse conditions. "Wildflowers are tough. They root in unlikely, often hostile environments, yet they manage to grow and bloom." This is the beautiful analogy Ms. Greene uses to take the reader on the continued story of Kara. I was drawn into this continuation of Kara's uncertainties and what is ahead for her in the restoration of the Wildflower House.

Kara must deal with some hard choices in the battle to move forward. There is so much hurt in her life not only from the loss of her father, to betrayal, to a feeling of loneliness, to an addiction she wasn't sure she could overcome. She must choose where and how she wants her life to move forward. I felt the difficult and hard fight she was facing. She is like Wildflower House....she has some renovations to make in her life to put it back together. Things that need to be repaired, things that need to be taken out and things that are still a perfect part of her. This is a beautifully written book that took me through the renewal and sometimes painful hurdles that are part of Kara's life.

This is a story about finding hope, the ability to be able to forgive, and to find the strength to have confidence in her abilities and talents. There are wonderful characters in this book who support Kara in this search for her new purpose. They have wonderful advice and help guide her to make her own decisions and choices. They help her emotionally to be the person she's created to be. They help her to let go of the past and to see a future. They help her realize that she has value and a purpose. She has talent and abilities that are gifts to share with others. This book is an emotional journey. It is a message that through life's hard tumbles and struggles, there is HOPE!

I love the way Ms. Greene drew me into the settings. I was seeing the landscapes, the renovations of the house and the carriage house. The grottos and forests were places I was in and smelling the flowers and fresh air. I was a part of this story emotionally and physically in the pages. It was a powerful and touching read.

I want to thank Ms. Greene for the honor of reading this ARC of her book. I loved every part of it. I am so looking forward to continuing the rebuilding of Wildflower House and Kara's life that she has ahead in the next book. This is a five star plus excellent read!

Linda's Book Obsession Review's  "Wildflower Hope" by Grace Greene, Lake Union, September 24, 2019

Grace Greene, Author of "Wildflower Hope" has written the second book in "The Wildflower House Series". This can be read as a stand-alone. The Genres for this novel are Fiction and Women's Fiction with Romance.   This is an emotional, intriguing, and dramatic novel. I love the way the author vividly describes and writes about the renovations of the house, the landscape, the gardening, and the planning. The author describes her characters as complex and complicated.

Kara Hart has known tragedy and is starting to pull herself together after her father's death. She decides she wants to renovate the house as a retreat, and plans for parking and gardens for the land.  Kara is ambivalent at times and insecure and doubts that she can pull this off. She does have the support of people helping her if she will let them in.

I love the way the author discusses the importance of self-worth, second chances, new beginnings, and forgiveness.  The author also mentions the importance of family, friends, neighbors, love, and hope. I would recommend this entertaining story for those readers who enjoy women's fiction.

Having read Wildflower Heart which i very much enjoyed reading, i was so pleased to have had the opportunity to read Wildflower Hope. Another wonderful and well written story and one that it didn't want to have to turn the last page. Loved the descriptions of the house and gardens. As always, i am not going to write what the story is about as i prefer one to read the book for themselves, but i do highly recommend.

My thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers. This is my honest review, which i have voluntarily given.

What a beautiful and charming book I enjoyed reading it so much that when the book came to its end I wanted to read it all over again immediately! It's a captivating book ... one that you won't be able to put down!
The story is beautiful and heartfelt... it's about forgiveness, second chances, and finding yourself again after loss and heartbreaks! I really enjoyed the way the author put a lot of detail into the story ... your can start to visualize how the author intended it to be seen and ... it feels like you stepped into the book and everything is just gorgeous!!!
The characters are fun and charming.. a small community (think mayberry and andy Griffith show) where everyone knows everyone and there's always someone willing to help out.. it makes you feel good inside .. you want to join them in their world so you can get to know them better, to have some fun and just hang out!!!!

The book really is fun and it's entertaining at times too! I love it and I DEFINITELY recommend it!

“ No matter what, you endure. You get back up “
This is Kara , the owner of Wildflower house , a woman who has not had it easy. In this book, she is trying to get over the loss of her father and restart her own life. Kara has grown so much in this book. She needs to become her own person.

“When we get out of our own way, we naturally gravitate towards what we become “
When Kara can finally move forward, she may surprise herself!
I loved the first book in this series and I couldn’t wait for this book and Grace Greene did not disappoint!
I can’t wait to send what else life has in store for Kara !

I want to thank Grace Greene for the privilege of reading this ARC , and for allowing me to follow Kara in her journey !

“You can’t choose where you’re born, but you can choose where to grow.”
Wildflower Hope is the second book in The Wildflower House series by Grace Greene. I did not read the first book but now will be reading it.
This is the story of Kara’s journey through hope, forgiveness, grief, friendships and personal healing.
The descriptions of the house and grounds made me feel as if I was walking through them with Kara. I was totally captivated by each room and outside area.
This was a beautifully written story.

Thank you NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for the opportunity to read this book.

This novel is a beautiful continuation of the rebirth of the Wildflower House and book two in the series.
Kara continues to see her dreams, steps forward and perseveres on the right path toward happiness.
Thanks to some genuine friends, she has begun to blossom, trust and love again.
I loved the characters, the descriptions of the house, flowers, gardens and all the little surprises along the way.
I was definitely engrossed in this book.
I felt like I was helping to take the wallpaper down and doing some landscaping too!

I will remember the lessons that are shared in this story. There are definitely many valuable examples and here is one:
"Maybe the biggest question wasn't about forgiveness itself but rather about who needed to forgive whom."

I cannot wait for the next part of Kara's and her Wildflower House Journey!
Excellent!!

Beautiful story of hope and healing!

Wildflower Hope is the second book in The Wildflower House series, I would highly suggest reading the books in order. There are such strong messages and feeling in all of the books it really will help bring light to each book individually.

Kara has suffered enough loss to last her a lifetime. However, she is hoping that The Wildflower House can bring her healing, help her overcome her fears and turn her dreams into a reality. With a little help and guidance from friends and loved ones, she just might get what she wants.

Grace Greene has crafted a beautiful masterpiece in Wildflower Hope. She will bring you through a roller coaster of emotions, obstacles and triumphs that will leave you in awe. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I most certainly would because it is amazing!

Excellent sequel. Grace Greene has created a thoughtful novel of life filled with reflection, sadness, love and happiness. Sadness is a predominant theme, although love is abundant Does happiness override the sadness? One will have to read the book to find out. I wanted more from Wildflower Heart and that's what this story gives you. I still don't want the sequels to end.

Wildflower Hope is a captivating tale of family, friendship, forgiveness and a future full of possibilities.
As Wildflower House continues it’s renovations, Kara Hart is experiencing her own personal healing. It is not an easy path for Kara as she copes with grief and a depression that make her question her choices. As the story unfolds and the beauty of the house is restored, confidence blooms within Kara allowing her to take charge of her life, and her plans for Wildflower House take root.

Wildflower Hope is the second book in Grace Greene’s Wildflower House series. This story segues into the weeks just following the unexpected death of main character Kara Lange Hart’s beloved father, Henry. Kara’s three decades have been fraught with loss. . .her mother, her husband, her unborn child, and now her father, who had kept her together through all that had happened in her life, was gone as well.

As was the plan Henry had for restoring Wildflower House. Now it was up to Kara to decide what to do next. The easiest thing to do would be to sell and go back to the city where she could return to the career she had before a drunk driver on a rainy night wiped out her plans for her future. Kara was still mending from that fateful accident and was now completely on her own.

Kara had a vision of opening the revamped house as a place where artists and craftsmen could meet to share ideas and classes, and, perhaps, to host events. When she shares this idea with Nicole Albers, close friend of her late father and Kara’s ally, Nicole tends to push Kara to move forward. But, instead, it is the landscaper, Will Mercer, who is able to lead Kara away from her darkness.

This is a wonderful sequel to the first novel in the series, Wildflower Heart, and will make the reader anxious for the next book in the series. Interesting characters and a lovely setting are at the heart of these stories. I have enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

Kara Hart and her father moved into a dilapidated Victorian mansion, hoping to restore it to its former glory. But before they achieve much work on the home, her father suddenly dies. Kara is devastated -- the tragedy only adds to the heartache she feels over the loss of her mother and her husband. Somehow, she pushes through the pain, and decides that she will continue renovating the mansion, turning it into an artists' retreat. She's never really been artistic (as far as she realizes), and her friends question why she wants to put in the work. But she hires help -- including a handsome gardener/handyman -- and begins restoring the home, its surrounding wildflower gardens, and the accompanying carriage house.

Of course, no project of this size is without its challenges and obstacles. Yet as Kara works her way through them, she grows more confident in herself and finds a part of herself that she never knew existed -- an embroidery artist who enjoys creating beautiful works and helping other artists do the same, especially those who have suffered setbacks and problems in their own lives.

I didn't realize this book is part of a series. But it works as a stand-alone, so feel free to check it out if you haven't read the other books in the Wildflower House series.

This is a gentle read with a hopeful message set in small town America. I recommend it if you're looking for a book that will help you inspire you to overcome the seemingly insurmountable obstacles in your own life. Kara will inspire you!

I have become a huge Grace Greene fan. I could not wait to read this book after reading Wildflower Heart. I loved this story of Kara and how she was figuring out how to put the pieces of her life back together after suffering the loss of her dad, Henry. Kara is described as being resilient, by her dad (that is what he told her before he died). That she is! Kara has seen more than her fair share of loss and now being the owner of Wildflower House has its new stresses. This house was her dad’s vision, his retirement project, his dream...not hers. Does she want to be burdened with this big old house, with all the renovations/repairs that are needed. What will she do in this big house all alone? Does she need the isolation? This wasn’t her plan. It all changed when Henry died and left it all to Kara. An idea comes to her on what she sees as the purpose of Wildflower House, now she must do this on her own, without her dad. This book is a wonderful read. It is an example of perseverance, getting back up when life has slapped you down. I loved reading this book and seeing Kara’s strength, confidence and perseverance shine through.

Karen Hart is dealing with unimaginable grief. Her father has unexpectedly died. He had brought her to live with him while she healed from an accident that killed her husband and unborn child. Then she discovers that her best friend, Victoria, may have been having a relationship with her husband before his death.
Left with the huge home and large property known as the Wildflower house, Karen is overwhelmed with loss, despair and loneliness.
Deciding to move forward with the repairs to the home, she envisions a retreat where artists can come to paint, sculpt or write. As the home begins to take shape, Karen’s heart also begins to heal. She begins to hope for a better life with an opportunity to move forward and perhaps even have a second chance at a meaningful relationship.
An excellent book by Grace Greene of loss, loneliness and eventually hope.
Thanks to Netgalley and Lake Union Publishing for an early copy of this book. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book and the comments are my honest opinion.

Wildflower Hope is the second book in author Grace Greene’s new Wildflower House series. This book picks up right where Wildflower Heart left off and also fills you in on the backstory. In this portion, Kara Hart suffers yet another loss, the sudden death of her father. When something like this happens after already suffering from so much pain and loss, most people would just give up, but due to Kara’s strength and resilience, she instead finds a reason for living. This is a story of forgiveness and learning to find your way after life’s many tragedies. I loved the setting, the descriptions of the big house as it went through renovation, and its surrounding property with all the gardens, sitting areas and running creek. And the characters were all wonderful people that I would love to have as neighbors. I’d like to thank NetGalley for allowing me to read this and express my opinion. I’m really looking forward to seeing where Kara Hart’s future is going to take her!

I love Grace Greene's writing. It's descriptive and lyrical, drawing me in so that I can clearly picture the places and people of her Cub Creek world. In this volume, Kara's life is once again in chaos and I had a hard time connecting with Kara; her off-putting behavior and self-absorbed mental talk held me back from truly empathizing with her pain. I had to take a break from this and read something lighter before I could go back and see what Grace would use to bring Kara to the breakthrough she needed to grow and come out of the experience prepared to take on the future. My faith was rewarded and I found satisfaction in the book's concluding chapters.
I requested and voluntarily read an advanced review copy provided by the publisher via Netgalley. I offer my honest opinion in response.

This is the next book of the Wildflower series. It follows Kara Hart as she recovers from the sudden death of her father. She continues restoring the old Victorian house as he had planned, during which she meets and makes friends with many townspeople. There were many instances that detailed how involved an undertaking Kara has in not only fixing up the house, but also transforming it into the retreat she envisions it will be. There are several subplots as she comes to realize who she really is and who her true friends are. The house will become a retreat for creative artists and we follow the progress through the book. It had been awhile since I read the first book, Wildflower Heart, so I needed to refresh my memory as references to it popped up. I enjoyed the characters and how they evolved from the first book. I hope the next book comes out soon!
Although I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, the opinions expressed in this review are strictly my own.

Wildflower Hope takes up where Wildflower Heart left off, with Kara alone and trying to decide which path forward is right for her.

The loss of Kara's father was huge and she is left with an old home, lots of acreage, some mystery and much uncertainty. This story encompasses so many feelings that each page is a delight in one way or another. There is despair, anger and frustration sure, but there are greater parts hope, love, acceptance, finding oneself and learning to trust and take pride in your instincts and accomplishments. That is a huge amount of feelings in one book and the journey through and to each is incredibly satisfying.

Grace Greene has a talent for beautiful, lush descriptions that make me see the scenes in my mind's eye. For example, the fireplace screens. I want to see those! I could picture them and I so want to see if my imagining comes anywhere close to reality. I'd never even heard of such a thing until this book! I could picture the river and the carriage house clearly. That talent for descriptions makes Wildflower House a living breathing character of its own and one I can't wait to visit again.

I'd strongly recommend reading this series in order. You could follow along just fine if you started with Wildflower Hope, but you'd miss out on all the important stepping stones to this point in Kara's life. This series is for anyone who enjoys personal journeys of discovery, family sagas, and women's fiction. Take a chance and let Grace Greene and this beautiful series take possession of your heart and soul for a few days.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for allowing me an ARC at my request. All thoughts in this review are mine and freely given.

Grace Greene melts my heart again in this second book in the Wildflower heart series! Kara has to overcome the loss of her father and accepting she must move on. She finds herself in a difficult situtation when she must face the past she thought she left behind. Kara keeps pusing no matter the cost, even when she just wants to give up! In this beautifully written story of grief, loss, hope and friendship Grace has shown the true meaning of forgiveness and the weight that is removed once you can do just that! I loved this book so much I hope the series never ends! A must read book! Thank you Netgalley and Grace Greene for my ARC copy in exchange for my honest review!!!
