JK's first novels, FOUND IN TIME and THE LOST PULSE, were recognized for their fast pacing, and, in reviewing the latter, THE REAL BOOK SPY, wrote, "A must-read for fans of Brad Taylor and Mark Greaney." International thrillers THE EXPORT and THE EXPORT’S REVENGE came next. “I worked with a great editor, Ryan Steck, on those novels, and I couldn’t be more proud of them." The autobiography of JK's life in motorsports was titled FUELIN' AROUND and became very popular with the racing crowd. Then, tapping into his auto racing knowledge and writing talents, JK produced the Formula One/CIA spy thriller DEADLY DRIVER to great reviews. His love of World War II warbirds and his passion for thrillers drove him to write THE LOST BIRD with the 'Deadly' sequel SWITCHBACK launching in 2024. In addition to writing thrillers, JK gave screenwriting a try, and as 2023 comes to a close, he has three feature film scripts in the hands of Hollywood producers at their request.

He lives in Media, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Lisa, and continues a never-ending pursuit of the next adventure.

I think quite rightly this book is titled the sequel to Found In Time as it really cant be read as a stand alone as all the references made to events in the first book wont make any sense

So the time travellers are back, once again basing the book on the fascinating idea that time travel is being used to stop and change terrorists events in a world where shocking attacks take place daily
As with the first book there are a lot of characters to get to know and a lot of American Military rankings to get to grips with
The time travel part of the book is as good as in Book 1 and the thought that this could be a reality cannot fail to excite readers, however I think the actual story was more complex and prone to ‘wandering’ this time and at times I had to stop and think what was going on and with who and why
Saying that though the author has had such a ‘different’ idea with these books and the premise of the story is as grand as the first that I cant help but appreciate it, the thought and detail that has gone into the book and the actual enjoyment of the story outweighs the niggles
I said last time this idea would make a great film(s)
I look forward to a Book 3

The Lost Pulse combines fast and furious black ops action against unrelenting terrorist foes. Plus part of the action is the Pulse, a six-person time travel device that is the secret to the battle against the terrorists. Keep in mind this is book two of the series and there's a big learning curve to catch up with the characters and plot line.

I'd give this one between 3.5 and 4 stars...

If only the government had a secret technology to allow Marines to travel back in time and better protect citizens from evildoers! The general idea of J.K. Kelly’s The Lost Pulse is sensational, and even if some aspects of the book’s flow are jarring or incohesive, it’s a thrilling page-turner with a thought-provoking underlying concept.

Following Kelly’s original Found in Time, a select group of Marines continue to use secret time-travel technology to fight against antagonists. But there are several personal crusades that take place as well (the temptation for which seems reasonable, of course). Those involved have to deal with the effects, all while trying to save prominent figures around the world — like the Pope.

There are several allusions to activities in Found in Time, though The Lost Pulse reads well separately. The main characters have interesting personalities and the banter between them is witty and credible for military men (and women). The plot’s premise does allow the author to unapologetically push for controversial Hawkish policy issues - like arming all citizens and allowing for vigilante justice — which the reader may find plausible under such terrorist duress, but may not otherwise agree.

The story has some cohesiveness issues, but its general idea is truly fascinating, and will definitely make readers wonder how they would personally handle time travel were they offered the opportunity.

It is not often that I request a book that I feel less than satisfied reading. This book, however, does fall into that category. Let me suggest three reasons that I find this book less than satisfying.

First, though written as a political drama, it also is a work of science fiction. I do occasionally enjoy a science fiction title, but not often. This title fell short of catching my interests. When I discovered this, I was tempted to put the book down - though I continued to read.

Second, the author is a strong conservative and supporter of gun rights. Though I write my reviews as a conservative-evangelical Christian, I have a difficult time supporting the positions normally held by the NRA as this author appears to do. When I discovered this, I was tempted to put the book down - though I continued to read.

Finally, I found the book served more like a brick than as an inviting story. Though this issue would not prevent me from reading more, when combined with the two previous issues, it was at this point (one-third of the way through the book) that I decided to set the book aside and move onto other reading material.

I recognize that all three of these reasons for finding this book less enjoying than I hoped are very personal. The book does have a hint of Christian theology, though it is not intentionally written from that perspective. The characters do seem real and face real-life problems on a daily basis. There will be readers that would find the book satisfying. I have friends who will find this book more to their liking than this reader. They enjoy science fiction, they support (some strongly) the NRA, and they enjoy a deep story as much as I do.

This book may be for others, it was not for me.

❤A very fast paced and sensational political thriller, at first I thought its a stand alone but it's the second book in the series which acts mostly as a stand alone. I loved the blurb but I think blurb has done hundred percent justice to the book. The plot was thrilling, there were multiple plots and sub plots going which made the book unique. At times it feel a bit dragged, but once you start read it there are less chances of stop. I loved how the author took the concept more deeper and how wisely she made it work it. I definitely enjoyed it. I will highly recommend it.

"The Lost Pulse" eBook was published in 2019 and was written by J.K. Kelly (https://jkkelly.com). This is Mr. Kelly's third publication and a sequel to his first novel "Found in Time".

I received a copy of this novel from the author in return for a fair and honest review. I categorize this novel as ‘R’ because it contains scenes of Violence and Mature Language. The story is set in the near future. Terrorism has reached new heights.

The Whitehouse is an armed camp surrounded by a wall. A well planned and executed attack on Guantanamo Bay has released many enemies of the US. A very select team is allowed to use a time travel device to fight the growing terrorism. They are restricted though to never changing history.

I enjoyed the 6+ hours I spent reading this 266-page thriller. I read the first book of the series earlier and enjoyed it as well. It is, other than the time travel, what you would expect from a thriller. The cover art is OK. I give this novel a 5 out of 5.

Well, we are back with this time travel of a book. This one was a bit more less entertaining. It was still worth reading and receiving. We get back to traveling back in time. Only now we are mostly in the modern time.

If you are into terrorism what would you do if you could go back in time and stop maybe without changing history? We see what happens when something happens that happens to kill a member of the special team? Was it his fault? This make a decision seems to affect a member that not in the military when her brother is killed?

What happens to Michelle Jackson once her brother is killed? When JJ and the president cant not go back and save him? There seems to be a regret that JJ has? What is it?

We seem to follow Michelle a bit more and also end up in Italy for a few missions. What missions they do go on. Will they help or hurt their BOTM options? Will their be something of nature that the members to need to learn.

What happens to the pulses and if they can get more or not. The author does it once again with this book. What happens to JJ and his wife Michelle? The President seems more involved. What will happen with him? I will want to know how this continues. There are twists an turns though out the book. This is really good for science fiction fans and along with time travel fans. Are you into history, well this book take you on journey back in time as well.

Second book in time travel series

This is the second book in this series after FOUND IN TIME. I actually enjoyed this book more than the first.

The world is going to he'll with attack after attack by terrorists killing and injuring hundreds of men, women and children. The new U.S. President has given the top secret BOTM program (Black Ops Time Machine) carte blanche to try to end these attacks.

There are most of the characters from book one in this thriller plus a few new faces. There was lots of action and questions arise on what's considered justice and what's considered vengeance.

This is still not a deep sci fi book with actual explanations for how the time travel works but it is a quick, enjoyable read.

I received this book from Amazon Publishing through Net Galley in the hopes that I would read it and leave an unbiased review.
