This NOVELETTE takes place over a two day period and it's a perfect introduction to the Seaside Summers series if you haven't read any of the books yet. Brock and Cree have been dancing, or I guess I should say boxing around one another for a while. The attraction is there and you can feel the chemistry before they even get together so what is keeping them apart? A misunderstanding! Thankfully once that is straightened out the gloves come off and it becomes a contact sport.
If you haven't read any of the Seaside Summers Series yet this is the place to start, it's short and sweet and of course HOT, each of the books in the series are able to be read as a standalone and this one can be read in an hour or so, like I said the perfect introduction and a great place to start. Happy Reading!!!
Well, that was a sexy swoony hour in my ears, and I have zero complaints! ❤️
I’ve experienced a lot of Melissa Foster books and I have sung her praises six ways Sunday or more like 84 but who’s counting lol, so I’m not getting into all that. I do however wanna say one thing … this is a “story” told in less than 100 pages ( a lot less), and not only did I believe it, but I was rooting for them! Does that tell you everything you need to know? Yes, yes it does. Read it again! :)
Now, about this team of narrators. Samantha Brentmoor is an audio queen, so I didn’t expect anything but full-on magic listening to her performance, and she delivered like she always does! 😍 Now, about Sean Masters … he can talk in my ear all day long and I would not be mad about it! His sexy gravelly voice had me shivering the entire audiobook and possibly right now as I recall his performance. Well done you two!!
Brock and Cree are a Quickie you will just love and want more! I read this book within half an hour and really enjoyed it. My only negative (if you would call it that) was I wanted more and as always didn't want to leave the Seaside gang! I think it's amazing how a Novella can have everything a Novel can half.....still fascinates me!
This cute little Flirt (what Melissa likes to call her mini novellas) is the perfect way to jump into the Seaside Summer's Series and get to know a little about the gang. She takes secondary characters in some of her other books and gives them a bit of a spotlight and introduction into their world.
Brock and Cree where steaming hot. A misunderstanding on each other's relationship status causes a bit of a ruckus. But once the air is cleared these two cause a bit of an explosion between the two of them. The only thing wrong with this story is that it wasn't long enough! I wanted more of Brock and Cree!
SEASIDE SERENADE by Melissa Foster is book 9 in the Seaside Summers and 8 in the Love in Bloom Series. This is the story of Brock Garner and Cree Redmond. I thought his could be a standalone book. Cree and Brock are attracted to each other but a misunderstanding stands in their way until it cleared up. This was a cute romance that was a joy to read...no real drama. Ms. Foster is one of my favorite writers so I always know I am getting a great story by her. Quick and Easy Read.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. This is a Flirt or a short story that is written about Brock and Cree. Brock likes Cree and even though he thinks she has a boyfriend, he hires her to work at his boxing club. Cree likes Brock but she doesn't want him to know. So they flirt around with each other and the chemistry is off the charts hot between them. I love when I get to revisit this group of friends and family, it always makes me smile and wish I had a group of friends like them. Cree and Brock finally get their HEA and the explosion between them almost sets my kindle on fire, and the ending is perfect. I only wish it would have been longer. I love the Seaside Summers gang and can't wait for more.
This was super cute! Brock and Cree were adorable. These two have been pining hard for each other and in this novella they finally get together, plus it's Valentine's Day. I am a huge fan of this trope so this novella worked for me. I also thought both of them singing at the bar was super cute! Plus the sexy scene was nice too.
Samantha Brentmoor and Sean Masters did a great job. Brentmoor is becoming one of my favorite female narrators. I think she does a great job with characterization. I enjoyed Masters deep voice and thought it was a good fit for Brock.

I’ve read several books by Melissa Foster and she never fails to draw me into her stories. So, it comes as no surprise that Foster had me hook, line, and sinker for her short story Seaside Serenade. Despite being a short story it was jam packed with chemistry and a perfect quick read. I haven’t read any of Foster’s Seaside Serenade series, but my lack of background knowledge on these characters didn’t change my ability to easily fall into the story. Cree and Brock have such combustible chemistry on the pages I was sad their story wasn’t longer, but Foster made every page count!
Brock has wanted Cree since he first saw her, but Brock wouldn’t pursue someone else’s girl and he’s certain Cree has been seeing Justin, which makes her completely off-limits. But, looks can be deceiving...
All in all, 5 stars for Melissa Foster’s Seaside Serenade!
I have been impatiently waiting for Brock and Cree’s story and this short story does not disappoint. She is the daughter of a Dark Knight Biker with a best friend protector and he is a boxer and her boss. He mistakes her honorary protector and best guy friend as her boyfriend which with his values means hands off. Cree is a woman with many sides who you would not see as shy. Brock finds out by accident about her wonderful singing voice and he coaxes her out of her shell and onto the stage. Great addition to the Seaside Series.
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
This is the second super short, but super sexy story from this series - it can be read as a moment of fancy, but has its roots deep in the series created by the very talented Melissa Foster.
Any regular will know that Cree is just friends with Justin, but Brock does not, so it is great fun watching as he finally works out that he can give love a try with her! The build up and the subsequent fall are both fun and super hot. I loved the scene where he is trying to teach her to box, but at the same time not get too close, as he is a man of honour - even if in this case, unnecessarily so!
Perfect reading for a small window in your day, or evening. No fear of reading through the night with this one (which is my norm with Foster novels), as it is pocket sized, but very satisfying indeed.
Brock has been in love with Cree ever since he first saw her but believes she already has a boyfriend. Free has also been in love with Brock since then and has even taken a job at his boxing gym to get closer to him. When they finally get together it's clear that they are meant for each other. This is a perfect size book if you're in the mood for a quick read and the story is awesome, sexy and romantic.
In general I'm not a fan of novellas, but I've enjoyed the novellas by this author. I liked the characters and the chemistry between them Brock and Cree is great. My only complaint would be that I wanted to read more about them!
Gotta love Melissa Foster! Seaside Serenade was a super quick short story telling the story of Brock and Cree finding their way together. I love how so many of Melissa's books and series have common characters and family connections! Reading one of her stories is like spending time with friends!
This book was definitely too short for me! I love that Brock and Cree got together, but I feel I needed more to read to believe that their "love" wasn't just a fling.
5 Star Review Seaside Serenade (Seaside Summers #9) by Melissa Foster
Audio:
Although only a short listen, the characters Brock Garner and Cree Redmond were engaging.
Narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Sean Masters they brought the characters to life for me. Their voices were easy to listen too and they brought all the passion,, romance and humour to their performances.
A beautifully written and narrated story that ticked all the boxes for me.
The narrator’s most certainly did justice to the wonderful characters and story written by Melissa Foster.
I laughed, I swooned and was left with a smile on my face.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
A delightful short read that gets your heart racing. I love Melissa Foster's work and even her short stories provide a depth of emotion that you can find her longer books.
If have an hour, pick up Seaside Serenade and be prepared to fan yourself.
Loved😍: - the short story worked really well for the novella length - the mmc narrator had the most wonderful grumbly voice 🥵
Liked☺️: - fast, short and hits on all the feels for an overall happy read - the 3rd person pov worked really well on audio as felt like I was looking in and witnessing the story
Drawback (for me personally)🤷🏻♀️: - I would have liked a little more of the couple at the end after they got together but as this was a novella I got that it was all about getting to the HEA
Spice: 🌶️🌶️

Seaside Dreams (Love in Bloom Book #38.5) by Melissa Foster. The Love in Bloom series proved to be a heartwarming journey through love, family, and personal growth. Spanning multiple interconnected series/stories, it offers a wonderful blend of romance, humor, and emotional depth that kept me reading the whole way through. Ms. Foster crafted fully developed, relatable, and multidimensional characters who added an extra element of emotion and interest to my overall reading experience. The heroes are fiercely loyal and endearing, while the heroines are smart, empowered, and refreshingly ‘real’. Each character feels like someone you could know in real life, making their struggles and triumphs, high and lows, all the more impactful. The stories have a perfect balance of steamy romance mixed with heartfelt moments. But that doesn’t mean that Ms. Foster shies away from exploring deeper themes like forgiveness, self-discovery, and the complexities of relationships – adding dynamic layers to the storyline/s. But, despite the emotional depth, the series still maintains more of a lighthearted charm, sprinkled with humor and tender family connections. While each novel can be read as a standalone, there is an interconnectedness with the recurring characters and overlapping storylines - which help create a sense of community that feels warm and inviting. It’s like being welcomed into a big, loving family where everyone has a worthwhile story to tell. ‘Within the Love in Bloom big-family romance collection you'll find fiercely loyal heroes and smart, empowered women on their search for true love. They're flawed, funny, and easy to relate to. Characters from each series appear in future Love in Bloom books…’ If you are a fan of contemporary romance or simply looking for a feel-good series to escape into, this series is a worthwhile binge read… Love in Bloom is made up of the following series: - Snow Sisters - The Bradens (Weston, CO) - The Remingtons - The Bradens (Trusty, CO) - The Bradens Novellas Collection - The Bradens (Peaceful Harbor, MD) - Seaside Summers - Bayside Summers - The Ryders - The Steeles at Silver Island - The Silvers at Silver Island - Wild Boys After Dark - Bad Boys After Dark - The Whiskeys: Dark Knights at Peaceful Harbor - The Bradens & Montgomerys, Pleasant Hill – Oak Falls - The Bradens at Ridgeport - The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside - The Whiskeys: Dark Knights at Redemption Ranch - Romantic Comedy Series Collection - Sugar Lake - Harmony Pointe - Harborside Nights - Nice Girls After Dark - The Steeles - The Stones - Blazing Summer - The Brays
2.5 Stars I'm giving this short story 2.5 stars only because it's so short I felt like I wasted $2.99 to download it. Maybe that's wrong because the author made it clear it's a short story which she called a flirt. It's not even long enough to qualify as a novella. If it had been $0.99 I probably would have an entirely different rating. But even though what there is of it is well written as you'd expect from Melissa Foster, there really just wasn't much of a story from opening to the happily ever after. For me the best part of the story was the inclusion of Bella and Jenna because of all the different sub-series in Foster's Love in Bloom series the Seaside Sisters is still my all time favorite. Just something about those sexy, zany women and their wonderful supportive friendship that really appeals to me. Here's a quick synopsis that is only a bit briefer than the story itself. Diminutive but super curvy and sweet as pie Cree who is all tatted up and prefers motorcycle boots to sneakers or heels, has a thing for big brawny sexy gym owner Brock. She goes so far at to take a job working for him just to be around him. Brock for his part has a thing for Cree. So much so that he gives her a full time job when he really only needs a part time position. Problem is everyone thinks Cree has a boyfriend because he's always giving her rides to and from work and hanging out with her. He's really more like a pseudo protective big brother to Cree but nobody knows it. So Brock being an honorable guy won't make a play for Cree. Valentines Day is quickly approaching and the gang is planning on getting together at the local watering hole where the guys often perform on open mic night. Cree decides she's finally going to make a more than flirting move on Brock and see where it leads. She asks her friends Bella, Jenna and Jana (Brock's sister) to help sex her up before the get together without telling them who she's gunning for. Cree walks into the bar all glammed up with sexy make up and dress, Brock's jaw hits the floor and after a brief conversation where Cree explains to Brock that no, she doesn't have a boyfriend, they're all over each other doing all those things they've both been fantasizing about for months. Well, not all of them since they're in public. And no, unlike most Foster books this one beyond allowing us inside the couples secret fantasies, doesn't have any steamy sex scenes. It's just implied that once they get back to Brock's place they screw each others brains out and live happily ever after. End of story.

Sometimes you just need a short, sweet novella to make your day brighter! And if you get to listen to it on the way to and from work, where stress is bound to hit you, well… even better! Seaside Serenade absolutely came through for me.
Mutual pining? Yes, please.
Former boxer and gym owner Brock can’t keep his eyes off Cree. She’s everything he’s ever wanted, but she has a boyfriend and he’s not that guy, so he needs to stay away. Cree? Well, she’s wanted Brock for as long as she can remember, but he doesn’t seem to be into her. And… that supposed boyfriend is not a boyfriend at all! If you’re a Melissa fan, you’ll recognize the name Justin Wicked (yes, that Justin!).
There’s some flirting and innuendo and I loved it. When all the cards are on the table, and there’s nothing holding them back… Yep, it’s good. And there’s still time for that found family feeling I always get from Melissa’s books.
This was an absolute joy to listen to. Samantha Brentmoor is a favorite of mine, and this was my first time listening to Sean Masters—and I definitely want to hear more. Both narrators do a wonderful job of conveying all the feelings in an audiobook that is only about an hour long. Trust me, you’ll feel the want and the pining, and it’ll be more than enough for you to be rooting for them.
My only complaint? I wanted more, but that’s usually how it goes when something is good, isn’t it?
A swoony and sexy listen and a cute romance with no drama, only feels.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Season Serenade is book 9 and a novella in the Seaside Summer series. Despite being the brevity of the tale, Seaside Serenade delivered a fun and steamy feel-good romance.
The events of Seaside Serenade took place over a two-day period. Although this is book 9, Seaside Serenade makes a wonderful introduction to readers not familiar with the series. For those familiar with the series, it offers one the chance to catch up with the couples from the previous books, while delivering a short, spicy and sweet romance for a new couple, Brock and Cree.
Brock and Cree shared and intense attraction, however a misunderstanding prevented them from exploring their feelings. The moment they learnt the truth there was no holding back for these two. I enjoyed spending with this couple but I wished I had more time with them.
I had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook which was narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Sean Masters. Their voices complemented each other and they brought the characters and the story to life. They did a great job with the variety of characters' voices. They showcased different tones for each character. Their collaboration led to a satisfying listening experience This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading
Way too short. This wasn’t even a novella. Audiobook on 2x speed was not even 30 minutes. We have been hearing about these two in all the books and they deserved better.
Also, as with the other books myself and other reviewers have mentioned how this author places such a priority on traditional femininity and gender roles and it’s subversive a lot I’ve often wondered if it’s unconscious on the part of the author. Well in this one it’s not. The MMC says the quite part out loud and says he wants a woman that’s respected herself enough not to sleep with every man in town and he thinks that’s the FMC. Well she doesn’t say anything about her sexual history in this book, but the FMC has talked about her hook ups in other books so not will he get a surprise when he gets to actually have a conversation with her. The author writes such double standards for women vs men. Why can’t men have self respect enough not to sleep with every woman in town? The only reason I keep reading these books is because they are free right now with audible and my book club is reading them. At least it gives me lots to discuss about the way women vs men are portrayed.
Also in regards to traditional roles as in the previous book where we found out Jessica gave up her career as a cello player after having a child (when in her book her fiancé said he would raise their kids) now we learned Jenna gave up her boxing career after getting married. Ugh!!!!

Brock Garner isn’t happy about the distraction. Lucretia “Cree” Redmond is a temptation that’s getting too hard to resist. She seems to have it together but then she turns around and is a little shy. It was fun getting to know them.
Sometimes it’s nice to have a story told in the first person but in this case you won’t miss it. Our author does a great job in getting the character’s feelings across. This was a great way to possibly introduce the reader to a new series or to reconnect with one you may not have read in a while. I’ve read quite a few books by this author but this is my first book in the Seaside Summers series. With summer creeping closer and closer, I can’t think of a better way to spend those months than to get to know the characters this author has created.
What’s good about this book is that you don’t need to worry about feeling lost if like me you haven’t read the previous eight books. This latest being a novella, you can finish it in just a matter of an hour or two. Then if you find you want more of this world you can easily pick another of her Seaside titles and have fun getting lost and getting to know the people that live in this community.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Seaside Serenade Novella by Melissa Foster is book 9 in the Seaside Summers featuring Brock Garner and Cree Redmond. This Valentine’s Day novella is fun, s*xy, and HOT! I thoroughly enjoyed Seaside Summers. Like all Melissa Foster books the writing is top notch with well developed characters. Brock Garner is a former competitive boxer who now owns a gym on the Cape. Cree works for Brock so she can be closer to him and entice him trying to get his attention in hopes of coming together. The chemistry between Cree and Brock is so hot that you could probably heat your home with your phone! Seaside Summers is a super quick read and audiobook, you can probably finish in one lazy afternoon at the beach. The audio can probably be listened to during your lunch hour! Samantha Brentmoor and Sean Masters bring Cree and Brock to life in your ears. I’ve listened to Samantha many times and was not disappointed at all. Samantha does an amazing job with a variety of voices, emotion of the story, and passion of Cree. Sean Masters was fantastic. He is a new narrator to me with a great variety of voices, passion, emotion, very rugged/throaty, and s*xy. I was blown away. Even though this is a novella, Seaside Summers is just as amazing as the author’s full length novels. Absolutely recommend Seaside Summers by Melissa Foster with 5 stars!
A quick and easy read from Melissa Foster as, after months of dancing around one another, much to the entertainment of their friends, Brock and Cree finally get together in Seaside Serenade. Featuring likeable characters from her Love in Bloom series where family is at the centre of everything this was a fun and angst free read. I do think it had the potential to be expanded from a novella to a full-length novel especially given the reason for Brock's initial hesitancy to ask Cree out but it was still an enjoyable way to spend an hour.
Samantha Brentmoor is a particular favourite when it comes to performers. She can easily switch between voicing the female/male parts without interrupting the flow of her narration. Sean Masters was an unknown to me but if his performance here was anything to go by, I’d have no hesitation listening to him in future. Together they did a fabulous job breathing life into Brock and Cree.
If pushed I generally prefer listening to longer audiobooks but after listening to Seaside Serenade, I’ve discovered there’s something to be said for novellas. I managed to listen to this one in one session which, since I listen on my commute, meant I wasn’t late for work for once because I was sitting in the car waiting for the end of the chapter.
This is a sweet, short romance that takes over Valentine’s Day weekend! Handsome former pro-boxer and gym owner Brock Garner has been smitten over his newest employee, Cree Redmond, but has been keeping his distance because she is already spoken for. Or is she?
This book is filled with smoking hot chemistry, misconceptions, and surprises. Many fan favorites of the Seaside Summers series reappear and provide updates on their lives which is always a plus! Their friends also witness Bree letting her guard down by going out of her comfort zone and performing live because of Brock’s encouragement. Love that about him. He’s all alpha but very sweet and lovable. Bree is witty and charming and you just love her drive and determination.
I love how this author always defines her characters and makes you feel as if you really know them. They each have unique characteristics, mesh so well, and are meant to be together. For Brock and Bree, even though their romance happened quickly, it was a long time brewing, and their connection is magical. I liked how they didn’t play any games, were honest with their feelings, and could focus on building a future together.
