A desperate attempt to save a child demands sacrifice.

Imani Tanzer is the closest her young brother has to a mother. When he falls ill due to a vengeful dragoness, it seems almost impossible to save him. Yet when she hears rumors of a dragon healer, Imani risks seeking him out. The dragon gives her a sliver of hope—the curse can be transferred but she and her sisters must leave their family behind forever.

William left behind his painful past when he agreed to be the huntsman and companion to the golden dragon. When his master binds three sisters in service to him, the last thing William expected was to grow to care for the eldest, Imani. Yet as the years pass and the sisters perform their nightly dances, he finds himself loving from afar.

When the curse turns dark, will love be strong enough to save them all?

A fantasy retelling of the classic fairytale, The Twelve Dancing Princesses

Clean romance, adventure, and humor combine to bring classic fairytales and myths to new life in Love's Enchanted Tales, a series of interconnected stand-alone stories. Each story can be read and enjoyed on its own. However, for greatest enjoyment they should be read in order.

I struggled with a few things in this. Most related to the time aspect.

I didn't like that so much time passed. It was weird to make such huge jumps because nothing changed. Everyone still acted the same and was doing the same thing. But more than that there's a fact that regardless of how they LOOK like they haven't aged, there's still a passage of time.

Example. There's no indicator that these guys go outside at I think it was the 25 year jump even. They haven't seemed to pick up hobbies or anything new. They're just cooking and dancing. You'd have to be SO bored.

And I think after so many years they would be tired of calling each other barbarian and viper/witch.

Also, they get this curse put on them that requires them to fall in love but they NEVER go anywhere. Did the dragon just plan on them never breaking it? It seemed really weird that it wasn't until near 100 years that anyone of the girls thought about going somewhere to try and fall in love with someone.

And the father/brother thing was weird. The father seemed to be a nice person, loving, concerned, etc. But he was okay with his 3 daughters walking out and never seeing them again. How did neither him or Adam ever push to visit the sisters or have them visit? Even the letters were hardly mentioned. It was like they just vanished from their lives for the most part.

There was also a convenient number of ways the girls could avoid dancing at night. I also wish the dragon would've stated WHY he made the terms so hard. Because otherwise it seems like he just wanted to make it difficult enough where they couldn't break it. Why not dance with the girls for a week? Why 101 days?

Everything is richly described. The general plot line is interesting. The characters are well-written and are easy to differentiate between. There's good elements to this story, but I've found since the first book that there are just THINGS that are large enough issues for me that prevent me from really loving the story.

Honestly, and this is of course my opinion, I feel like maybe these books were written too quickly. I think 10 of them came out in a little over a year. While that's very impressive to create and write that many unique ideas. I'm just not sure if it was enough time to have enough feedback from people beforehand and to work out all the kinks.

I feel like quite a few things in each of these books would be pointed out by beta readers. Which then in turn they could've been fixed. I have the upmost respect for Rogers. I think she is an amazing writer and I've had two of her books be such amazing experiences for me that the reason I KEEP reading this series is I am desperately hoping to repeat those experiences.

I just wish she'd taken more time to work out some things. Get more eyes on her work and get some constructive advice.

Contains: kisses, some fighting, and one mild swear word. This is a really slow…burn? I mean it takes place over a century and in that time the MCs relationship doesn’t really grow. I felt like the sister and the dragon had a better relationship (which also didn’t go anywhere). I guess it just dragged on. Also, how in the crap do they expect to break the curse if they never meet other people? Also also I thought that maybe after so long they would build stamina for the all-night dancing yet the author keeps repeating how exhausted they are and how sore their feet get. My only other complaint is it is quite a stretch from the original tale. There is mention of diamonds, silver, and gold and little wink winks to how glad they are that it is not a dozen girls and then their stepmom has six girls in four years but other than the dancing the tale is abandoned. Finally, I’m never a huge fan of when fantasy books “create” cultures that already exist. This book is in discount India. But they wear safris instead of saris and eat kuri instead of curry.

Unique Refreshing Tale

I loved this book! So many twelve dancing princess retelling a are always European style balls, and this had a distinct Indian flare to it. The characters development over the course of the book was fun to watch happen, albeit over the course of a century rather than months. It’s a nice change compared to the stories where it only takes days to fall in love and get married. This is definitely the most unique book so far in this series, and most refreshing compared to the other retelling floating around. Highly recommend x3 (though for readers who prefer their books to be 100% clean in language, please see the below note).

Language Note: Not 100% clean. This is the one book in the series (as of June 2022) where a curse word (d**n) is used. While the second usage could arguably be acceptable in context, the first one is definitely meant as a curse word. For a book in a series that has strong (favorable) Christian elements and is written by a Christian author, such language is out of place.

Another enchanting tale full of twists and turns!

I have read 8 of Love's Enchanting Tales in the past week, and every one has been entertaining and, yes, enchanting! Dancer is book 8 in the series and was a fascinating version of the 12 dancing princess. The surprises begin almost at once... The evolution of the love story and curse breaking is a very slow paced anxiety filled read, as you become invested in the characters' actions, hopes, and dreams (including nightmares)...and just want to urge them on, as you think you can see the culmination long before the huntsman, dragon, and dancers do! However, unexpected twists and turns keep getting in the way of preconceived happy endings, until the actual ending bursts forth in all its surprising glory. Read it to discover the enchantment yourself!

There were adjustments made to the original 12 Dancing Princesses to align it more with the tale that has 3 sisters. The other additions were just brilliant. There was a lot of heartbreak for the sisters in this tale but it was interesting to see how they were able to remain happy in their circumstance. Once they made the decision to take their brother's curse on themselves they never really looked back. William's character was really interesting. He is a great illustration of how hanging onto one's past can ruin one's present. Overall, a very satisfying read, much as the rest of the series has been.

Enjoyable

I really enjoyed the characters and the unique take on Twelve Dancing Princesses. I only gave it four stars because there were moments when it felt like the two main characters were repeating previous conversations which slowed the book down for me. Otherwise, great read and fun to see characters from other books.

A cheeky retelling of the Twelve Dancing Princesses

I will confess to being a bit confused with the timeline, as a loves story that spans a century is a bit odd. However, I did so enjoy each and every character and the slow wooing of William was worth it. A cheeky read

I didn't get very far into this story before I ran across a couple of cuss words. Bummer.
