"What a cliffhanger, what a book!!! Definitely one of my top 10 of the year!" – I Love HEA Romance Book Blog

From bestselling contemporary dark romance author Fawn Bailey, the highly anticipated second installment of The Dazzling Court, a dark & twisted steamy romance series.

In a land far far away, I entered a competition to win the prince's heart. I never expected this outcome - that I would have two princes interested in my hand and my heart.

Olivier and Bruno Bellamy will stop at nothing to make me their princess. I am caught up in their battle for my body. And knowing their deepest, darkest secret, means I am the one who calls the shots.

Now I need to make a choice...

Will I pick Olivier? Handsome, dignified, and hiding deep, dark secrets, he is the one who's wanted me from the very beginning. The one who made me fall in love at first sight, and won't give up until I'm his property.

Or maybe I'll go with his brother, the bast*ard prince, Bruno. Tall, dark, handsome - and oh so dangerous, Bruno is off limits, but that only makes me want him more.

As the compeition for Olivier's heart reaches its dangerous peak, I know I have to pick betweeen them.

But the real question is...

Why choose?

Wicked Prince is the second book in The Dazzling Court trilogy. Amber's story begins in Dark Castle and concludes in Ever After.

Okay, I want to preface this post with a very important announcement: I love dark romance. I read it as a contrast to rom-com or contemporary romance. I have no problem being swept up in heroine kidnappings or dominations. It doesn’t bother me because I can suspend my disbelief, and I have no triggers for these types of scenarios. I’ve read Olivia Ryann’s Control and Protect series, Linnea May’s Petal series, Kelli Callahan’s Caged by Them, Penelope Sky, CD Reiss, Ashley Jade, Willow Winters, Stephanie Julian’s Indecent series, and many more. Through all of them, I suffered with the heroine and cheered the transition of the anti-hero as he found some level of redemption, even if it wasn’t the typical redemption of the romantic hero.

Even more, I enjoyed the first book in this series by Fawn Bailey, Dark Castle, albeit Olivier exasperated me as he seemed exceptionally bipolar when it came to Amber and the other contestants in his competition to find a bride.

But I struggled with Wicked Prince. I have no qualms with reading some level of dominating borderline abusive behavior of the h. However, between Bruno and Olivier in this book, it read like a roller coaster of emotions. I found myself becoming profoundly angry and annoyed with the ride on this roller coaster.

The Hs. Olivier and Bruno read as though they really don’t know what they want. One minute they want Amber; they can’t live with out her. In the next moment, she’s an afterthought. If you profess undying attachment to the h (at least, mentally), then you might want to be more consistent. And this is the problem with the characterization of these two. Additionally, they are supposed to be dominants. Yet, they constantly fight like children which left me struggling with accepting them. Quite frankly, I wanted Amber to escape and leave them, returning to her friends. She reads like a vessel and possession, but not in a way that could ever redeem either of these two.

Amber. I cheered her on when she was betrayed by Olivier and decided that she would reject him. I hoped she would take control of her sexuality and stand up to the two men. Yet, once again, she faltered. Yes. She controls her escape from the dungeon, but it takes her far too long to do so. Even more, I kept wondering why she wouldn’t demand legal representation. As she was accused of a crime, she should seek out people who could truly help her. Bruno and Olivier seem ineffective, and she accepts that. I recognize that dark romance writers often make their h timid or naive, but they tend to use that naïveté to an advantage against the H. This hasn’t happened yet in this series, and it’s disappointing. I need her to recognize her personal strengths and fight back.

What does this book have that should prompt you to read it? For one, it’s the second in a trilogy, so it is still unresolved. I’d like to think that the third book might drastically change the course of the characters. At least, I am hoping for it. Secondly, the physical connections between the characters is hot by romance standards. That seems to be the series’ point. If you love hot chemistry and $ex, then you’ll love this book. Lastly, this book leaves its readers on a massive cliffhanger that puts Amber at risk. Since the story isn’t finished, there is much that Fawn Bailey can do. I’m hoping I will feel resolved in the final book of this series.

One question that Fawn Bailey/Isabella Starling posted in her Facebook group a week ago was related to Amber’s choice in the two men. Should she choose Bruno or Olivier? At the time, I said Olivier, although I’d love to see a ménage with the three. After reading Wicked Prince, I want Amber to choose Amber. Quite frankly, Olivier and Bruno aren’t worthy of her attention.

okay... I have never been a big fan of Hero's developing some sort of attraction towards other women. it doesn't help that the concept of the story is a riff off of Kiera Cass The Selection series but an adult and steamy version. The main characters here already have feelings for each other and are emotionally involved. I have read several books by Fawn Bailey and her style of writing always gives me anxiety and warfare sentiment. Her characters are always been a hit or miss for me, their demeanor is always erratic and disagreeable. The same goes for the plotline structure it was contrary at times. Whenever I've finished reading I always have a difficult time believing that the romance or love between the protagonists are factual or if the relationship was profoundly effective. With that being said, I am not sure if I will read the 'last' book in this trilogy...

All the stars for the mind blowing mystery.
Being a dark romance some people could be offended with the vulgarity but all in all it was an amazing work and the suspense was very unpredictable.

Still one the other hand there were flaws in terms of morals, loyalty, fidelity which I would ignore taken that this is what its expected from a dark romance.

I'm not really sure what happened, but I finished this book feeling a somewhat disappointed. I really enjoyed the first in this trilogy—in fact, it left me with a bit of a book hangover—but this to me was repetitive and had the characters going round and round in circles with no true characteristics. I couldn't get my head around any of the main three's personalities, and not in a good way. They were one-dimensional and inconsistent. Does Bruno love Amber or not? Does Olivier actually want to choose Amber or not? Honestly, we were flip-flopping between absolutes and it made me a bit frustrated when reading this. I also suspected the big twist at the end quite early on, and this left me thinking that intelligent Amber is also...not so intelligent.

The sex scenes were incredibly hot and always one of Bailey's strengths, but this was marred for me by too much repetition and inconsistency and characters I just couldn't get to grips with.

Wonderfully woven tapestry

The web of lies and deceit continues to be spun in this next instalment of the addictive Dazzling Court Series... this is a wonderfully woven tapestry of intrigue, betrayal and suspense, and the characters are so vivid and complex. At its heart is the fiery Amber who is not only a contender in a royal competition but is also caught between two men.

There are antagonists and protagonists aplenty and an unexpected plot twist that brings the story to a conclusion with a heart stopping cliffhanger ending....so many questions left to be answered: who will be the winners and the losers? And who will be left standing when the final choices and secrets are revealed? ...I received an advanced copy of this book from the author.

When the reader questions the characters, who's good, who's evil, who should win, who should lose, I think the author has done their job. The Dazzling Court Series is dark, twisty, at times breath taking and not in a "good" way. Fawn Bailey builds worlds with her words, you have to know what's next. Oliver, Bruno, and Amber are such compelling characters, well written, and layered. I hate to come to the end of these books, because you know there is so much more to come.

So much going on in this book and completely unpredictable. My heart is crushing on both Bruno and Oliver and I am left here wondering who you can even trust in this story anymore. This book definitely captured my attention and had me turning pages as quickly as possible and now I am left here with a book hangover until the next one.

This is the second book in the series and I do recommend reading them in order. Amber has become the prize of both Bruno and Olivier but can these two alphas really play nice and share? This is a dark fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and twists and turns that keep you glued to you e-reader. Can’t wait for more! I loved it!

OMG!
What a read!
The second book in the trilogy and i didn't expect this for sure.
A book full of steamy scenes as we are used to it from the first book but this one is even hotter as there is a new element added to the story and gain i fell in love with this fairytale.
I don't know who to choose as my favourite from the brothers as they are so different and so swoon-worthy each one of them.
The end it just left me mouth opened because i don't think anyone would expect that and i just need the next and final book asap because i have questions that need the answers like yesterday.
A great book again and would recommend it to all my book friends.

ok so, in the first book i gave only 2 stars because i though the book will be around Oliver and Amber, to find out then that the book was going to be a triangle, and i start to dislike it, because even in the darker story's i read, the jerk /prick or whatever the bad guy was, and the girl was, they never share.
(ok maybe kissing?but not that, nope, and not with relatives or friends)
At the end of the first book unfortunately i already figured out all the things will happen in this second book , and i was "prepared" and also because like i said, once i figured out will be a sharing, i read it with a different mind set, i read it without let me feel for the characters , even if they didn't share her i will never like a "hero" who don't fight for the girl who supposed to love, f*ck the society, the throne , he isn't even the heir, he could do an heart choice, but no, he let his brother have her and i'm sorry but i will never ever pass this.

The story tough was really good, interesting, mixed feelings and emotion. If you are into less romantic and more into drama/twist etc it's your kind of book, if you love dark but with passion/ alpha male like me then you will be a little disappointed.

This isn't a love story for me, i truly believe she don't need any of them. If i have to chose between the brothers tough i'm more pro Bruno, only because he showed more affection and he was fighting more for her than his brother. Oliver for me was good in the first book, but in this one he was really bad, i mean, how could he let the woman he was supposed to love being with his brother! come on guys and her, how she always says she loves Oliver but she always ends up saying she wants Bruno?!?! they both play with her like it's a toy , and her? well she simply lets them.

At this point like you see, i'm confused and believe me all this 3 characters are confused, i will read the last book tough only because i'm curious how the story will go on, but i hate the fact that, even if there will be an happy ending i will never be happy about it, for me the book it's over, i don't see love, and i don't care who she ends up with. But i will read the end only because like i said the story it's really well write and if i ignore all the things i don't accept, the book it's actually good and makes you wish to know more.

What a ride! After the first book finished on a cliff-hanger, I was hungry for more and this second installment into the trilogy satisfied my craving.

Amber is now the prize between two demanding, alpha men but sharing is so much easier than it seems. All is fun and games until someone gets hurt and Amber pays the price.

This book is filthy, naughty and debauched and I want more! It plays with your mind to a point where you don’t know up from down. There are twists and turns, love, lust and hate. Friendships and enemies. Betrayals and secrets. It turns everything on its head. When you believe it can’t get any worse, you are proven wrong.

This is an addictive, page-turning series.

Throughout Wicked Prince, I loved the characters and hated them as well. They do things and say things that seem irredeemable and then, the author has a way of making us understand. These characters are fundamentally flawed. They do, however, live by their own code. They love differently and express it differently.

There is something to love about each character: Amber, Olivier and Bruno but I would love to see growth in each of them.

For Amber, I would LOVE for her to give these two sexy men a run for their money.

For Olivier, I want him to be able to stand on his own. To fight for what he wants instead of expecting it.

As for Bruno, I would love for him to have better than what he has, to expect more.

I’m DYING to know what happens in the end!

This is a MFM romance and may have triggers.

I received an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

I was excited to read this after the way the last book ended. Unfortunately, it fell flat for me. Maybe I had too high of expectations.

Wicked Prince picks up right where book one left off. As it proceeds, danger and a mystery lurks around the castle. The Queen is a vile woman that I love to hate. I wish there were more scenes with her. The MFM scenes were steamy.

I wasn't sure of the direction of the story, especially the characters' behavior. Oliver was probably the worse. He gave me a headache trying to figure out what he wanted. I'm not sure if he even knew. Ugh, he went from wanting one thing to another.
Bruno was a bit clearer on what he wanted. I understood the push and pull he had going on. It seemed like it was his inner struggle. Still, I don't think he was much better than Oliver. Actually, these two didn't make great heroes.
Considering that Oliver and Bruno were in love with Amber, they had a funny way of showing it. They didn't do anything in helping her. They bicker like children fighting over a favorite toy. I felt the only reason they wanted Amber was because the other wanted her. I don't think either of them deserved her. I want Thorn and Rose to come save Amber from that place and take her far, far away. Have her find love elsewhere. Amber needed to be more assertive.
I still want to continue reading the series, because I want to see where it al ends. Danger is still surrounding Amber and I want her to get her HEA.

Oh my lord... Have mercy... I'm so freaking happy...
I've been waiting for this book for a while now and let's just say that I can't start it fast enough.
Fawn Bailey has given me some of the hottest books of my life and this series is off charts... Just Dayum...
Wicked Prince is her latest release and it's the second book from the Dazzling Court series.
This book keeps telling us the stories of Oliver and Amber.
But let me just tell you something. This book is not a standalone therefore you need to read A Rich Man's Toy, Dark Castle, and only then read this one...
OMG... I'm speechless... I'm stunned... And a bit mad...
Superb plot, very well written, super engaging, and surrounded by a thick layer of darkness and some pretty hot scenes... Dayum...
Do you know that feeling of knowing something and wanting to read it non stop to find out you were right? Well, let me just say that I was just like that. I even texted this beautiful author letting her know of my suspicion... Dayum... It was like a slap to the face...
Who would have thought... Jeez...
One minute I was thinking one thing and then boom... It went a lot different...
It was intense and amazing to read this book and I'm mad now...
Why Fawn... Why end it like this? I need more... I need answers... I need to see what's next... Please don't take too long...

I have very conflicted feelings with regard to this book. I see it has glowing reviews and so I might be the only one but I had a very hard time with this one. I have read a lot of Fawn Bailey/Isabella Starling‘s books but this one, in particular, upset and even frustrated me to the point of wanting to throw my kindle across the room. I understand that the content is sometimes difficult to read when it comes to dark romance and I was prepared but I found myself often frustrated - maybe that is what the author intends, I don’t know. I just wanted the Bruno and Oliver to be more consistent with their own thoughts and actions. It seemed like neither of them could make up their mind and with a lovely woman’s well being on the line it frustrated me. Our heroine has no choice but to trust and her trust was betrayed by those very men whom one minute wanted her and the next who knew what they wanted, I don't think they knew. Dark romance is meant to stir and push but I felt this story was more frustrating then anything else.

Wow, what a fantastic second book in this dark romance trilogy.

Please be aware this is book two in this wicked, twisted trilogy. Be sure to read the prequel, Rich Man's Toy and book one Dark Castle, before reading this book.

This book picks up right where book one leaves off and things are becoming increasingly twisted. Amber is caught between both Bruno and Olivier, with no way to know what game is really being played. As Amber is heading back to her room, a maid informs them that something has happened with the other women. They find a dead woman and Amber is accused of killing her. Since Olivier would not say he was with her she ends up in the dungeons. With all the twisted things going on, no one can be trusted and someone is out to be sure they come out on top. Unfortunately Amber may be trusting the wrong people and it may be her downfall. This book obviously ends in a cliffhanger and it's a big one. Can't wait to read book three Ever After. Definitely loving this trilogy so far and can't wait to see how it all ends!!!

I got no words. Fawn Bailey has done it again, another amazing piece of work. I loved how the book started right where the first one ended. This one took me on a journey that I didn’t expect, especially with the direction the story went in.
It was full of emotions, drama, mystery and banter/viciousness between two hot and sexy princes. I loved Bruno and Olivier’s interactions with each other, over and with Amber, I absolutely enjoyed all that between them. It was full on steam and hotness between them all and I loved all the choices each one of the characters had to make. I was right there with them, trying to decide which way to go. But let’s just go back to the brothers… OMG these princes were just something else. Tall, dark and sexy doesn’t even begin to describe them.
And that ending! Although I did have my suspicions, it still came as a complete shock which I loved every second of. The facts we find out about in the end had me screaming for more of the story, I just couldn’t get enough.
Thank you for bringing us your words, Fawn!

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Holy crap! We pick up right where we left off with Bruno, Olivier and Amber alone waiting for her decision after she finds out the truth about each of them and proposition they’ve presented her. Emotions are all over the place, she’s drawn to both of them, but she’s just a pawn in their little game and the sooner she realizes that the better off she’ll be. Someone in the castle is out to get her and has framed her for a crime she didn’t commit and is now paying the price for it in spades. Amber has no idea who she can really trust. There is danger, darkness, deception, twist at every corner, will these brothers save the woman they both supposedly want? Or will they let her fall and try to save her own life before it’s too late? So good, totally worth the wait and I can’t wait for Ever After. Highly recommend and if you haven’t read this series yet, you need to start at the beginning with Rich Man’s Toy which is the prequel to this series, and then Dark Castle.

An story of passion, jealousy, revenge and murder!
by sewsummore

There was a previous book in this series I wish I had read before this book as I found the situations hard to follow at times. In this book the two Royal Princes are determined to have Amber for themselves. A situation that places her in great harm not only form her rivals but also from the men who want her for themselves. It is a twisted story of revenge, of a Prince switched at birth and a pretender to the throne. Amber is forced into situations not of her making and becomes pregnant with a child, unable to know which of the Princes is the father. I hated that she was treated unfairly, accused of a murder she did not commit, kept prisoner in a dungeon and helpless to escape. There was a darkness in this book that horrified me and yet I could not stop reading. This book is not the end of the story but will continue in the next book in the series'

Is this still the plan or are Olivier & Bruno betraying Amber?

Amber is caught between two men, a calculating evil Queen and a group of aristocratic, beautiful women ready to do almost anything to win the Prince and the crown. These royals (and the women who want to be one) are unintentionally making a great case against a monarchy.

I have to admit, this book pulled out so many emotions. It got me all twisted up inside and furious at all the deception and devious maneuvering, especially from Olivier and Bruno. Too many times Olivier doesn't live up to the kind of man he needs to be.

Olivier made Amber think she was his secret pick and true love--the one he would fight for and make his (future) queen. However, the way Amber is treated along with some stunning revelations, shatter that dream.

By the end of the book, I was thinking that NEITHER one of those entitled prats deserve Amber. Both Olivier and Bruno have A LOT to make up for, so I expect book 3 will have Amber learning who deserves her love and loyalty.

Mind blown!!

I have been waiting impatiently for this book and when I got the email it was on my kindle I put everything down and dove right in.

Once again I was hooked on this world and couldn’t stop and didn’t want it to end. Be ready for many twists and turns. Also don’t forget that this is book two in this series and in order to really understand what’s going on you have to read book 1.

This book picks up right here book 1 left off. And instantly things take a twist that you didn’t see coming. Amber’s caught between Bruno and Oliver, thinking she knows how this game will be played but in reality she as no clue.

Not wanting to give away anything that happens, I’ll just say this. Amber, Bruno and Oliver’s life’s are gonna be turned upside down. Be careful who your trust bc you never know what secrets they are holding.

Can’t wait for the third book to see how this story ends.

This was my first book to read by Fawn Baily and OMG, what a ride intense and dark and passionate in equal parts. You popped it on your kindle and went full speed soaking up the story and its characters.

I just have to say the Queen whew, yeah I can totally see an overthrow needed, gods the woman is horrid. The Princes each of their own distinct personalities as well as their own skeletons rattling in their closets. Now Amber a royal to be bought and paid for? Not quite yet and when the "it" hits the fine she may never be.

Amazing character development and so fit the story you can't help but get invested. Intrigue but of course its court life. Amber has her own bit of darkness to cope with, why else would she be where 's at or even responded the way she did? Two gorgeous Princes, dark and dangerous. What's lurking, What will pull it together and who will win the "Prize" I loved the story I didn't read the first book, but now yeah. *smiles* enjoy.

This starts where the first one left off. OMFG!!! This was a great sequel. Once I started I could not put it down. There is a lot of suspense and so many twists and turns that will shock you. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. You will be taken on a dark and twisted rollercoaster ride. When I left the first book, I wasn’t sure who I wanted to pick. I was thinking maybe it could be a menage, but now I feel like Amber should knock them both out and leave. These men drove me crazy and I wanted to smack them. Not only will you want to beat the men, the queen deserves the biggest smackdown. The physical chemistry between them is very hot. Olivier and Bruno also need to quit acting like a couple of children and do what’s best for Amber. This girl gets put through the ringer in this one. I am not going to tell you more, but you really need to read this. The storyline is good and I can’t wait to see what happen in the finale. The cliffhanger..... holy $@*&!!!!!

It's twisted, it's dirty, it's dark - enter with the open mind.

Talk about twists in the story line and cliffhangers. This author knows how to deliver both of them and does it in a way I'm not even angry about not getting the conclusion. Now I'm sitting and thinking how it all will unravel in the next part. There are so many possibilities it's even hard to imagine.
I loved this part, it's darker then first one, it's twisted, more dirty, more raw. Web of lies goes deeper and deeper, some covered truths are uncovered. I couldn't decide which side to take so I'm all the way #TeamAmber. No matter what she will do or how the circumstances allow her to act I'm all the way supporting her. No one should endure what she did.
Not wanting to give anything away because it would ruin whole reason to be entertained while reading I will just say - I was blown away with this part and I'm instantly craving more!

Which Prince will be Amber’s?

Holy Hotness 🔥The second instalment of “The Dazzling Court Book 2” starts where “Book 1” ended. Ms. Bailey has outdone herself with another captivating story. There’s drama, mystery, intrigue, suspense & of course, chemistry. Lots of chemistry, sizzling 🥵 hot chemistry! Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. What a read!!! Be sure to read this trilogy in order, otherwise you’ll be a bit confused. The prequel is titled “Rich Man’s Toy” with Book 1 titled a “Dark Castle”. I’m so looking forward to finding out how Fawn decides to bring this series to a conclusion. If you’re interested in reading a fantastic series, be sure to “one-click” each instalment of “The Dazzling Court”. Trust me, I guarantee you won’t regret adding this series to your own library!!!

I forgot

I forgot how much I didn't like the first book!! Was thinking this book was the conclusion. I admit to skipping pages. This book was sick. Amber is falsely accused of killing one of the girls. Bruno and the H new she was innocent but only Bruno stood up for her. Although, he did put her in the dark dungeon, without food or water for several days. Then when he did visit he just wanted sex. And Amber gave it to him!!! Sick!! She was in there a couple weeks! This book was really confusing. One page the H is going off about keeping Amber in the dungeon longer and the next he's saying how he wants her and she is the only one for him. All while he courts the last two girls!!! Really messed up story. I found myself saying, you have got to be kidding me!!! If you have to read the trilogy, skip this book and go straight to the last one. By the way, when is that supposed to be out??
