Some of the stories were really quite good, but others were (how shall I phrase this?) not. I got the book many years ago, and never got around to reading it until five years after the actual pandemic. That did, I'll admit, take almost all of the fun out of the concept. Had I read it sooner, the absurdist humor might not have fallen so flat. As I said, some parts were very well written and showed up like pearls in the swine pen. Not an overall pleasant experience, but it was worth a gamble.
3 1/2 stars but it is pretty damn funny in parts. By far my favorite stories have been "Mrs. Liggett and the Breath O' God, " & "Yuppie Zombie Baby Farts." Good reading if you've ever had a job in customer service, ;-). Update: More like a 2.5-3 stars...I'm not sure if I like it as much. A few stories later and I wanna rap this up. :-/
