Finding Morgan: A Lefay Trilogy

Rate this book
Morgan's mother has always been convinced that their family's roots trace all the way back to the legend of King Arthur. Morgan, on the other hand, thinks her mom is insane. And after years of emotional abuse, Morgan flees London for America, leaving her mother—and her delusions—behind. But while Morgan's new life is picture perfect at first, it isn't long before she starts to suffer the same symptoms. And when tragedy strikes, Morgan must untangle the threads of her past and leave her old life, and all she dreamed of having, behind—so that she can discover who she's meant to become.

Mental illness, the Arthurian legend, and a desperate young woman with a past she can't escape combine to form the first thrilling novel in the LeFay Trilogy.

I don't normally like doing reviews, so going to keep it simple. I'm new to Goodreads. Just finished Finding Morgan by author S.M. Traphagen. I was torn between 3 or 4 stars. If there was a 3.5, I'd give it that. It was really a good read. I attached to Morgan's character quickly and identify with some of her struggles with low self-esteem and lack of friendships. I loved how the writer goes from just Morgan's inner monologues, and third person to the viewpoints of the friendships she develops later on. I also love Naria; she sounds a bit like yoda speak to me--I don't know if that was what the writer was trying to do, but I loved her character. While Khalin seems a bit of a detached character, I get the sense that the story isn't really about Morgan's daughter--however I feel there is more to come, I hope, with Khalin in later books. Overall, I liked the storyline a lot, really liked the writing style and feel it's such a unique trilogy series and refreshing from other series I've read. I'm looking forward to the next one.

What a great story this first book was! I am really looking forward to the other books. Morgan is a relatable character on so many levels from struggling with relationships to losing loved ones. I really enjoyed the story and couldn’t put the book down. The author did an excellent job with imagery and character development.

Can’t wait for the next book, you have left me wanting more. This author reminds me of Nora Roberts and some of her triologies.

Not a huge fiction reader, but loved this novel! Great read, great writing, loved the characters. Can't wait to read book two. A must read if you love fiction novels!

Merged review:

Not a fiction reader typically, but this book was amazing. It was a quick read, fast paced, and I was invested in the characters. I found myself laughing in spots, loved the dialogue, and was shocked by some of the twists in plot. It is a great read, very different from other storylines, and I cant wait to read book two!

This was a little slow in the beginning however before I knew it, I could not put it down. Loved the settings and the historical regions.

Interesting story

It is a good book in the fantasy genre. It was well written and very engaging. I am looking forward to finding out what is waiting for Morgan, Khalin, Safrie and Roan in Book 2. The author fashioned an excellent first novel.
