I'm a fan of certain kinds of kink, and daddy kink ranks right up there among my BDSM faves, so I had high hopes for Kiss Me, Daddy. Sadly, this book didn't live up to expectations.

Kiss Me, Daddy was not my tastes. Insta-love, daddy stuff introduced too quickly, miscommunications... it was all sort of a mess. I struggled with the pace and the structure of the story. I think there were a lot of issues that made for a very mediocre reading experience.

I've only read one other book by this author, and though I enjoyed that one, I don't know if I'd be so eager to read Quinn Ward again. Maybe this author needs a better editor or some more betas to guide them because there were some strange transitions and time skips that made for an awkward reading experience.

I think the story was cute, but it didn't hit kinky nirvana for me. I wanted more.

I'm not sure what happened here. I've enjoyed each of the books in the series which this one spins off from but something about this just didn't really work for me.

I think part of it was that it was way too much insta love but also not enough went into the kink side for me to really feel the Daddy/boy dynamic.

I liked both characters individually but each time they slipped into the kink, I really didn't feel the connection at all. A lot of the time it just seemed like a whole load of dirty talking and then the narrative would jump to some time after the event.

Unusually for this author, I felt a lot was being told about what was going on rather than me being shown through their actions and dialogue.

On a positive note, I liked the family set up, I liked that there was no drama with the ex-wife and their 10-year-old and Andy's supporting siblings.

And if the set up for book two concerns the characters we saw at the end, then I'm totally on board as they were intriguing.

#ARC kindly received from the author in return for an honest and unbiased review.

I was quite surprised when I first started this book at how much I was instantly taken in by the writing and the characters.

Joshua is 37, lives in a home with his son and his ex-wife. He's also a radio host, but his identity is private as he uses a fake on air persona. He's created a life in which he's content. Not happy, exactly, but good. When he explains his living situation to others, they tend to run, so he's resigned to what he has.

Andy is graduating college and has no job, no job prospects, and has been living a life that borders on what he wants but more what his parents expect. He's young and he's unsure of the future. When he overhears a boy behind him in line for coffee talking to his parents, he turns around to see the Daddy he never knew he always wanted. It kicked at something inside of him.

When the story starts, there is a misunderstanding between them that is handled perfectly. Sweetly. It completely kicks off the heat between the two and starts off the dynamic that is themed throughout their relationship. And this is where things got dicey for me.

I'm certainly no expert on role play or kink, but I'm pretty sure there should be rules or some discussion about what each role is and what is expected. There was none of that. The timeline jumped so that we went from basically the first night together as a couple to a month or so later. I felt a little stunted. I wanted all the details of that time together. Where they are in each other's pockets. Where they can't stand to be away from the other. Missing the time for Andy to build a relationship with Joshua's son was also skipped.

As much as I really enjoyed the story and the relationship between the MC's, because there was no discussion about their place, I found it hard to understand the connection between them to be real. And after missing a large chunk of time it just didn't give me the emotions I needed to connect the two as a solid unit in the end.

This book started promising but it all went down after 50%. I am also confused because the brother is called Paul at the first half of the book and in the end he is called Peter? This book was not for me but I'll give the next one a try.

It started with an adorable scene when Andy met Jordan the first time. Memorable, but not really pleasant for Andy. With thought that Jordan was happily married with a very proper ten year old son, Andy had no chance. Or so, he thought.
But apparently Jordan is single and available, sure he had to 'explained' everything to Andy before something's happened between them.
Kiss me Daddy was a fine read with a daddy kink, insta-love and an overprotective Daddy for his boy.
Light, low angst with some family matters, Jordan's son is actually too mature for his own age. But then, some kids are old souls, we're sometimes cannot understand how their head works.
I enjoyed this book, and a nice distraction when I rested my legs after a very exhausted hiking. Mount Fuji was really a hard work, but Andy and Jordan entertained me, and I'm good :)

Kiss Me, Daddy by Quinn Ward explores some sexy and intense Daddy/boy kink. While there is a real need for Andy to feel safe and cared for by his Daddy, which includes daily discipline that leaves him grounded emotionally, the author makes sure to point out that the best relationship dynamic that could exist between two men in this lifestyle depends on both being independent and trusting each other. That’s a hard place for Andy to get to when he has spent most of his life trying to gain his real father’s respect and love. Essentially, poor Andy is a basket case of nerves and doubts with his self-esteem at basement level most of the time. He has such a difficult time believing that anyone could truly love him and accept his deep desire to be their boy while not coming off as some needy ball of raw emotion.

People fall asleep, wake up and wallah! It's Daddy and his Little One. It's like magic. 🙄 This dynamic, not given proper consideration, comes off as completely ridiculous and plain stupid.

No rating but what I did read got more awful as the pages turned.

To Finding What Missing...!

Judgmental parents, self esteem issues and looking for a kinky connection are all a part in the Andy & Joshua pairing. A lightweight romance with all the usual tropes. I found it read more like a fairytale and not up to the same standards of other books by this author. I consider this an okay read.
Aside: the opening paragraphs seemed very familiar, as if I’d read this passage before....hmmmmm!

Slightly disappointed. Andy, a final year student, quite disorganised and a worry-wort, meets Joshua, his 10 yr old son Gabriel, and ex-wife Amy, in the cafe where he works part-time.
Instantly attracted to Josh, Andy knows it won't go further; but then they meet in a club where Josh's desire to become a Daddy, take over both of them.
It's involved, cumbersome, and eventually tedious to read. Too much angst on both their parts - somewhat unnecessary in fact.
An OK read, not outstanding.

Holy insecure insta-love....

While I adored this author and the Kinky in the City series, especially the Daddy kink one, this one just kind of missed the mark for me. See, Andy was just set to graduate college with a degree his father didn't approve of. I was proud of him, because his parents were the worst kind of people that undoubtedly gave him such low self-worth, and such low self-esteem, but he stuck with it and now he was getting a degree.....
Unfortunately, like many degree holders in our country, the struggle to find a job in your field isn't easy. So, being broke and jobless, I can understand where he'd be a little insecure meeting such an established and together older man that he's attracted to when they keep running into each other.

Joshua is a wonderful dad with a strange sort of relationship with his live-in ex-wife. It puts a damper on dating, because being bisexual is hard enough... throw in the 10-year-old genius kid and live in ex, I don't blame people for running far away from that.... but the ex is nice and the kid, albeit annoyingly smart and just too wise for his age to seem believable, it kind of worked for them all I guess.

When the Daddy gets slipped out the second meeting between these two, and things start getting hot and heavy, it all feels like playtime to me. It was all so sudden and extreme, like Joshua completely flipped into this other person.
Maybe that was just me, I dunno... but it just wasn't working for me.
Then every other minute he was having to reassure Andy about something or other because Andy would flip out and assume the wrong thing and the dialogue was so "woe is me", and I usually like the wounded bird and sweet caring reassurer.... I dunno... if you're looking for something along those lines, this one would be a lite, easy read.
There's little drama, though Andy's parents are awful, and then literally everyone either man speaks to gives them relationship advice, mostly without even being asked. I've never seen so many people with so many opinions on one man's relationship... but, meh... if you're looking for an easy read with a little kink.... then I'd say this one might work for you.

I'm not sure I'll be waiting for the next one in the series to come out, but I'm curious to see who might be next.

I really like Daddy kink, but this one didn’t hit the spot (except for the dirty talk). I think because:
-the start of the relationship is fast but not a lot happens in the bedroom and suddenly it’s a month later. Did sometimg happen off page? The timeline is weird.
-Gabriel the kid is shipped off to friends all the time. I don’t like that. And then suddenly Joshua tells Amy (his ex, Gabriel’s mother) what a great bond Gabriel and Andy have because Andy makes dinner and they hang out. Apparently that all happened off page, too?
PS I had to read reviews to find out how old Gabriel is (10). So I probably missed it but I couldn’t find his age in the book.
-They dive into the Daddy kink immediately. I would think that you would be more hesitant about your kink at the first date (it isn’t even a date, more a hook up type of setting)
-Andy’s family was very two dimensional. If people are assholes, make them great assholes and then let the MC put them in their place in a spectacular way (I love that)!
-Why did Andy and his father have a different surname (Carlisle/Squires)?
-Will’s reaction at Christmas maybe wasn’t classy but the way it was written sounded to me like he was genuinely confused and I found Amy’s reaction OTT.

This book was Great. I loved every part of it.

When I think about books with a "daddy" and "age play/age gap" involved this is exactly what I am hoping and looking for.

Andy and Joshua aren't just playing at "daddy & boy" and throwing those words around in a playing/joking manner but it's an actual lifestyle for them. Its who they are to each other. You can feel their bond in every word and action and neither of them can deny their feelings and who they are to each other. And that's what I've been looking for in these types of books.. I did find the living situation a little odd, but if it works for them, then whatever *shrug*. I enjoyed Andy and his personality and how Joshua seamlessly fits into his life and tries to make it all better for him just the way a real "daddy" should. Looking forward to reading more in this series and more from this author. Definitely going back to check out all their other books.

A Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words Review An Alisa Review:

Rating: 3 stars out of 5

Hmmm, this story was nice but didn’t connect with me or draw me in like the Kinky in the City series did. I really like kink but I don’t like when the characters fly by the seat of their pants instead of having discussions and determining what the other wants and that is what it felt like these characters did. They talked a little at one point about what they want but it was less than a page and I didn’t feel as though it did the story any benefit.

This is loosely connected to the Kinky in the City series which bring Calvin and Frankie into the story a little but what rubbed me wrong about that is it made their relationship out to be the Daddy/Boy dynamic that Joshua and Andy have and that’s not what I remember from their story. I even went back an checked and it wasn’t like that.

Seeing the story from both of these characters’ points of view helps to understand them both. Gosh, Andy is adorable and I just wanted to hold him and tell him everything would be okay. He just continues to build things up in his head until he is thinking the worst which is one of the reasons he longs for a Daddy but I think the support Joshua gives goes even farther. Joshua has a strange family set up and Andy is the first person who doesn’t turn away when it comes up though I think at times it causes Andy undue stress. We get a quick look at who may be the next couple and I hope to continue reading the series and see if it picks up for me.

The cover art gives a cute visual of Andy.

I'm not quite sure why it's taken me so long to get around to this book. Both Joshua and Andy have things in the way of their relationship, but as long as they're actually communicating with each other, I think they'll be fine. I definitely look forward to seeing them show up in the rest of the series!

I recieved a free copy to read and review for Wicked Reads

This book started off really good. I loved the dynamics of Joshua's family and I liked Andy. Gabriel was agreat secondary character and I would have liked to see more of him. The story and flow was going great until aboit 40-50 percent in and then it seemed like either someone else wrote the last part or the author was rushed to finish the book. The chemistry and feeling between Joshua and Andy seemed to go from burning and slow to super fast with less emotion and chemistry. This would have been a 4 or maybe even 5 star for me if things hadn't gone down hill halfway through.

The Daddy Kink was creepy

I love Daddy kink! It’s probably my favorite kink. So I don’t get creeped out by it. This however was super creepy. This couple met under a veil of distrust, the Daddy has a 10 year old living in the house he just brought his new boy to, and with no foundation for trust, the Daddy starts calling the boy Little One as a name replacement WAY TOO OFTEN so it becomes creepy rather than endearing. The boy isn’t just a brat, he says he knows what he wants, but definitely doesn’t act like it’s Daddy kink. The boy jumps into calling his Dom Daddy all the time, which makes it all seemed so forced...

It actually came across as two people who have never played in Daddy Kink, and were jumping into the deep end before they even knew if they might like it. It wasn’t quite abusive, but a daddy needs to be in control, and when he breaks his own rules to get what he wants, but holds his boy to the rules, it starts looking a lot more like abuse.

To be fair, I stopped reading this book at the 70% mark because I couldn’t take it anymore, so maybe this all comes up and is resolved. But I started feeling gross reading this story and that’s when I decided to bail.

One good thing to note is that this authors other books have been a clear win with me, so I will keep reading their books. Also the authors actual writing is great, easy to read and few errors. I highly recommend their other books.

Good, but...

Quite liked this first in series, but paragraph formatting had me often scratching my head to figure out who was speaking. Some questions left at the end that never quite get answered, and there didn't seem to be any chance they might.

Andy discovers the perfect Daddy, too bad he's married. Joshua sees the sweet young man, Andy, at the coffee shop, unfortunately he can't make his move with his son and ex wife in tow. A second and third chance meeting allowed Joshua to speak his truth and then it's all sunshine and rainbows except for Andy's family drama.

Kiss Me, Daddy is book 1 in the Club 83 series. This is a sweet age gap, Daddy/kink story about Andy and Joshua. Joshua, a divorced dad with an unconventional relationship with his ex-wife, meets Andy, a soon to be college graduate and in need of a daddy. I love their dynamic and how easily they fell into a relationship together.
I recommend this beautifully written sweet story.
Narrator Christopher Rain does an amazing job in bringing these characters to life. I didn't want the story to end.

With such awful, judgmental, and snobby parents it's amazing how sweet, if a little insecure, Andy has turned out. He's struggling with studying, earning enough to keep a roof over his head, and trying to get that gorgeous man he saw today out on his mind. Joshua is having the same problem, he can't forget that younger man's lovely face. With an unusual living arrangement with his ex-wife and having a ten year old son, dating tends to be a bit difficult. This is a nice gentle, easy read, no angst, just a sweet romance with a little kink and a little sex.

3.5 Stars!

Andy first sees Joshua at a coffee shop when Joshua is out with his ex-wife and son. He thinks Joshua is hot, but clearly taken. When Andy later sees Joshua out at the bar he just started working at, he assumes that Joshua is looking to cheat on his wife and blows him off. A third chance encounter allows them to clear the air and get to know each other.

Joshua is trying to break out of his comfort zone and accept that he might be able to have the kind of relationship he fantasizes about while living in a family arrangement that some people would find odd. Andy sees Joshua's family and wishes his was more like theirs. He feels like he had no direction and took the job at the bar to pay the bills.

I liked that both Andy and Joshua were both feeling out the Daddy kink together. I liked that Joshua laid out his family dynamics right away and that while Andy in theory was okay with it initially, the reality of it hit him a little harder than he expected at first. I think that his reaction was understandable. I liked their connection and their group of friends. I liked that Andy and Joshua had help working out the dynamics of their relationship. It was nice to see Andy find enough self-confidence to be able to stand up to his parents a bit more and explain how they made him feel. I was glad he found more support in his siblings than he expected and that he was mature enough to see that they were suffering too. A lot happens in a short amount of time, but I was glad that we got a snapshot of them settling further into their relationship later on.

There were events that got a little confusing at the end for me. I didn't understand the timing of Andy finishing college and his graduation ceremony. I also was confused by the sudden introduction of Tyler; I wasn't sure if I was supposed to know him already or not, and I am fairly certain that we will be seeing him again at some point, though. I also would have liked to see Andy settling into their family unit more as Joshua and Andy deepened their own relationship.

All in all, I enjoyed reading it and am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I’m a fan of Daddy/boy stories as well as age gap, so this one piqued my interest from the moment I read the blurb. I liked the setup for this story, and I thought the characters were a perfect match for each other. It was lighter on the kink aspects than I expected—though there was spanking to be found—and focused more on relationship dynamics as well as family ones.

Andy was actually a pretty responsible guy, if a bit adrift when it came to his life’s direction…which made Joshua coming into his life a good thing. Joshua is the nurturing type, and picks up on Andy’s need for guidance—which he felt drawn to provide from the first time they met. They fit well together, though the almost immediate shift into Daddy/boy did feel a bit quick.

There were some points were time seemed to jump with no true reference points, making the story feel slightly disjointed at those times. And one of my pet peeves—the obvious and annoying misunderstanding—was one of the first things that came up. But the story also had Joshua’s unique family situation with him, his ex, and their son; and yes, I normally steer clear of stories with kids but Joshua’s son Gabriel is precocious for his age, providing insight even some adults wouldn’t clue in to. That helped balance things out a bit for me, and while Joshua and Andy’s relationship may have felt like it got serious pretty quickly, I enjoyed the two of them together since they matched up so well.

This one was a 4-star read for me, and I’d recommend it for readers who enjoy Daddy/boy stories…just realize this one may be a more tame than you might expect. This book is for readers 18+ for adult language and sexual content.

Kiss Me Daddy, the first book in Quinn Ward's Club 83 series, is a fun Daddy kink romance. As a fan of Daddy Kink, I was super excited to dive into this one.
The Daddy kink comes on suddenly, seeming a little forced. Though, in the end Andy really needs a Daddy figure. His struggles are real, leaving him in a no-win situation. His parents are awful to him, and have no faith in him at all. He's young, lost, and unsure of what to do with his future.

Joshua also has lot of family issues, as he's living with his ex wife and son. As a reader, it's awkward in it's uniqueness, but it's also great for the kid. As well, his ex wife and kid are both enjoyable and good people. His son is a young genius, which I completely appreciated. Kids like him exist and it's refreshing to see them get a place in a good story.

Their relationship is a one of confusion and miscommunication. It's progression is sweet, as Andy's intrigued by the older man he keeps running into. Of course Joshua's attracted to the needy, younger man himself, as he enjoys taking care of people.

I appreciate the relationship between Andy and Joshua, as it's absolutely unique. The author does a great job delving into the Daddy kink, which is the main draw to this story afterall.

Kiss Me, Daddy is an excellent slow-burn, May to December romance.
I would have been happy with more relationship moments, but it's still an enjoyable and kinky book. I definitely enjoyed it a lot.

The kink is light here. Basically meet cute in a coffee shop, BM over whether guy is married with kid or not, weird family dynamics on both side (older guy lives with ex-wife and son - she's on the road all the time...young guy's parents are whack-jobs).

It's pretty insta-lovey. They see each other once for 20 min. in a coffee shop and the older guy is totally obsessed. I also had some difficulty with the time line. He talks about him and his ex being so young and their families saying they were too young, but he's close to 40 and his son is 10. So he was 30ish when he had a kid. That's not young. Was he with his wife for 14 years before they had a child? And this kid was 10 going on 47. "They said on TV last week adults need to foster their own relationships in order to be effective parents". WTF? What 10 year old even notices that on TV and then parrots it back, even if is mother is some sort of self-help guru?

The Daddy part is pretty light because he obviously doesn't go around calling himself Daddy in front of the kid and you hear they got along but he'd only been dating him 2 weeks when he practically moved in and spent every second there. I don't know, it just didn't work for me and was too much too soon. And I didn't realize he had a kid when I bought it or I probably would have passed, not my thing, but that kid was too wise and perfect for his age. NEVER got snotty, angry, was like a little Yoda or something. Just not for me, but hey, different strokes.

This is the first book in the Club 83 series. Although the books don't have to be read in order they do reference the couple's from the other Annandale series.

* How did the book make you feel?: Daddy kink is not my kink but this story got me thinking more about it. I've read more m/f daddy kink books and that is just not for me. Reading the m/m daddy kink is different. I enjoyed this book. It was a quick read.

* How do you feel about how the story was told?: The story was told from the perspective of the main characters. I was able to understand them more and get to know them better with the story being told this way.

* What did you think about the main characters?: Andy and Joshua, they are just too sweet. I liked that Andy wanted to support himself and do what made him happy and Joshua was there to support him no matter what.

* Which parts of the book stood out to you?: I loved when Joshua's wife stood up to her boyfriend when he made a nasty remark about Joshua was 'queer'.

* What did you think about the ending?: The end was sweet, the story was complete with no loose ends.

* What is your impression of the author?: I really like this author. I already have the next book to read.

I saw these questions on another reviewers post and thought I'd use them.

Nice, but could have been better

I liked it for 3.5 stars worth. It's a nice HEA May-December Daddy kink that isnt very heavy with the sex side, and family included - story worth reading especially if it ticks your boxes, the type of read that you prefer, but not something that I'd go recommending around to friends as "you need to read this!" I didn't like it enough for me to love it. I liked the first half more than the rest. The reason is that after they got together it somehow started dragging, for me. Something didn't work to engage me enough. I started scrolling and that's not good.

I thought the kinkier side of the daddy dynamic and that part of Joshua's character in it maybe came a bit too out of nowhere. It didn't feel right. It didn't fit, felt off with the original character portrayed. That's just how it felt. It also felt off that they didn't go over what the rules are, like one typically sees in any kinky titles. If they neither had experience, Joshua's MO was a bit too out of nowhere, out of character. If Joshua had experience, he should've know better. I'm sure the author knows these things as one of the genre authors, so why the blunder?
