Good Girl, Bad Boy

He's bro culture personified. And sexy as hell. Now he wants me. What?

He’s a legendary billionaire bad hungry and horny.

I don’t give a sh*t about all his money. Or his body. (Oh, god, his sexy body . . .) Or even that at one point I wanted more than anything for Jesse Valentine to be my first.

That’s so yesterday.

I may not have gotten horizontal with a guy yet but I’m not that dumb kid sister with a crush on my big brother’s best buddy.

I’m getting my Ph.D. and steering clear of that player.

Only one He’s even sexier than he was back in the day. And he just walked back into my life—right on campus.

OMG! Those friggin’ eyes.

He’s making all the moves. I see the desire in those gorgeous eyes.

I’m not going there, though. I can’t.

Now he wants me to pretend I’m his fiancé.

What the f*^#!

I can’t do that.

Can I? Oh, shit.

Marcella Swann has been putting words on paper for as long as she can remember. After working for years in the hard-boiled world of journalism, she how devotes her time to writing contemporary romances of strong-willed women who win the men of their dreams. As passionate about love as the beauty of a story well told, Marcella is a complete romantic and believes everyone desires their happily ever after. A small town girl from Louisiana, Marcella now lives in New York City and starts each day walking her Yorkie in the park. She also swings a mean kettle bell at the gym and loves karaoke nights with her friends.

The overall story was off for me. The female protagonist was a virgin all throughout her late teens to mid twenties. No very realistic. Especially for someone who was beautifully described. The male lead a manslut, manwhore whoremonger and every other name there is to describe a user of women then dumps them after he gets bored. They were his words exactly. Get to live it up. And just plain proceed with his life. While she is stuck on him throughout the years. I found that highly unlikely. She should have had at least one. This woman really should have done so. It's too much of a double standard. The other character Sunshine was a trip though. She and I could be best friends. She gives off that aura. I hope she has her own story. That third star was for Sunshine.

Marcella Swann writes “perfect every time” contemporary romance novels, and Good Girl, Bad Boy is yet another illustration of this. I love billionaire romances and love the whole brother’s best friend who finds he can’t resist the kid sister trope. No surprise that I loved Chloe and Jesse’s story. Perfect plot. Perfectly written. Perfectly crafted characters. Perfect chemistry. Perfect romance. Yup, reading this story was simply a (you guessed it) perfect delight. Frankly, but for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.

Excellent contemporary romance that’s been forbidden by the ‘bro code’. Jesse is seen as a wealthy player and has been friends with Chloe’s brother. Chloe has had a crush on him for years but feels they’re too different especially since he’s well off. The story is told in a way that we can see how the characters grow over time. Ms. Swann did a great job of drawing the reader into the characters and their lives. I’m hoping they’ll be another book about Chloe’s friend Sunshine. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review.

I read an ARC copy a while before it was available for review. The beginning and ending were okay but I didn't enjoy the middle chapters of the book (roughly chapter 8-15). It also irks me in books when a woman stays a virgin (whether consciously or not) because of a guy she may never be with while he has been screwing everything in sight for years (I didn't take a star off for that despite it figuring into the plot). Not her best work in my opinion, but still readable.

Great and sweet
I loved the relationship of the two characters who from a past attraction banned by their knowledge, becomes stronger while the geek hero, Chloe, tries to be execrable and / or honest, with the friend of his brother, Jesse, who has become extremely rich (He became a mogul in technology.) The male character is just as excellent. I had a great time with them. The story is both simple but with some twists in their romance.

I recieved this free when signing up for Marcella's newsletter and honestly I was disappointed.

I liked Chloe and Jesse but we don't know much about them which means we don't see any growth... Jesse seems to swing from one end of the spectrum of being a layer with no feelings to being in love for years... There was nothing to show this decision, and talking about not being being honest and we don't get much so I was expecting a dramatic secret and it was totally mundane

This book is fantastic. I loved every single minute of reading, actually devouring it. I loved watching these complex people fall in love. Chloe and Jesse had passion off the charts. Smoking hot story. This is what I have come to expect from Marcella Swann and she never disappoints. If you ever read a book, make it Good Girl, Bad Boy. It is heartwarming.

A boring romance, in my opinion. Girl is in love with her brother’s best friend, wants to give him her virginity, he refuses. They go their separate ways and years later cross paths again. He sees her as a conquest, just another girl to sleep with, she sees the guy that hurt her but she still wants to sleep with him. A whole lot of nothing happens and eventually they get together.

Chloe has been in love with her brother's best friend since she was 16 years old and has asked a couple of times for him to take her virginity but the answer is always the same no. But being a guy he was always tempted to but he was always said no. But always wonder what would happen if he said yes.

From past to future

Chloe has been in love with her brothers nest friend since 16 and has asked a couple of times for him to take her virginity but hes always said no. But being a man he always wanted to conquer her but when the time came something else happened.

GG, BB

La historia tiene mucho potencial, pero parece un resumen de Wikipedia. El título no tiene nada que ver con la historia y los personajes son un poquito básicos. Pero no me aburrió, 3.5⭐

Liked it

Not quite what I expected but Jesse and Chloe's story was sweet with just a hit of steam. Great second chance tale.

Cute story but no long enough. It needed more depth to make it a great story.

The story felt rushed. There was a lot of “telling” instead of “showing” when it came to plot progression and character development. I don’t know if I would recommend it, but I did finish it!
