The Legion Omegas #2

Saving the Omegas

Rate this book
Karn is hired to find the person responsible for taking the omegas slated to become prizes. He's already had the chance to win an omega for himself, but wasn't interested. The life he leads isn't one where he can coddle and protect a weak omega.

He's surprised to find out the thief he's looking for is not only a woman, but an omega herself, and she shows him that not all omegas are damsels in distress. Some can take what they want, even from an Alpha.

This is a Sci-Fi Omegaverse story. Saving the Omegas is the second book in The Legion Omegas series. This book does not have a cliffhanger and ends with a HEA. This book has detailed scenes and situations that may make some readers uncomfortable.

Wife and mother of four, my days have been reduced to begging for the littlest to sleep so I can have time to write my books. I'm blaming my reduced schedule on Cupcake.
Facebook is the best place to find me, or you can sign up for my newsletter here (https://leannryans.com) to keep up with current and upcoming projects as well as special promotions and such, or find me on Ream!

I grew up on Sci-fi and Fantasy books with some of my favorite authors being Anne McCaffery and Mercedes Lackey. In 2013 I discovered paranormal romance and delved into a whole new world. After reading Omegaverse stories from Addison Cain and Nora Ash, I had the idea for The Omega Prize and decided to take a shot at writing a book of my own. The beginning was rough, it took two months to write the first five chapters, but as my 2019 New Year’s resolution I said I was going to finish the story and committed to writing every day. It didn't take long for the book to begin telling itself, and from there I just kept going.

All of my books are Omegaverse, but they span settings from Sci-Fi, dystopian, and historical barbarians. There is even a small-town Enemies to Lovers Romance story in there. They main contain dark elements but I wouldn't call them dark romance since my alphas tend to be a little mushy in the center. I promise there's always a HEA.

Spoilers ahead

The h was awesome but I didn't like Karn considering he took the job in the first place. Forced/Involuntary claiming is also not my jam. A simple case of It's me and not the book. Quitting here for now as the H of the next book didn't make a good impression on me

Book: Saving the Omegas: The Legion Omegas Book 2

Note: I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book in Leann Ryans Omegaverse all about strong Omegas who meet their mates but do everything they can to hold onto their own independence. As I mentioned in my review of the first book, I am not a massive expert on this genre but I know when I like a book or not. I enjoyed the first instalment and was expecting much of the same but if possible it was a little bit better.

Karn, one of the competitors that we met in The Omega Prize, is hired by Largo to discover who is stealing the Omega’s that he has kidnapped to sell. Karn agrees to be on board for the next shipment to investigate and he travels to all the planets as they collect the Omega’s ready to be sold. At the final planet he meets an interesting Omega that catches his eye and he can tell straight away that she is up to something but cannot work out what it is. He suspects that she may know how the escape will happen or who the rescuer actually is. But before Karn can find out and get the answers he needs the Omega’s escape. It is at this point that he realises the beautiful, strong Omega who caught his attention is far from the usual submissive Omega and is in fact the rescuer.

Adaria is a strong, independent Omega and is so far from what you would expect from the usual meek Omega. She was forced to become independent after losing her family at a very early age. She has deliberately chosen not to take on an Alpha as she does not want to submit to anyone. She was captured amongst one of Largo’s first Omega kidnapping runs and was able to rescue another Omega that she was with called Tilla. Coming from a rich family, Tilla’s family were very grateful for her safe return and offered Adaria money and a job guarding Tilla. She declines the money but accepted the job. However, then more Omega’s start going missing and their families turn to Adaria to get their females back. She is happy to help and with the support of Tilla’s father Frintak she begins rescuing Omegas. But on the latest mission she is almost distracted by the gorgeous, tall, strong Alpha on-board that she struggled to get out of her head.

After the rescue Adaria heads home and Frintak helps all the Omega’s find homes or passage back to their loved ones once it is safe to do so. Adaria agrees to stay with them to help settle in until safe to move but when her heat starts to come on she needs to nest and so heads back to her own home to be surrounded by her own things. Karn is still chasing the gorgeous, spunky Omega who outwitted them all and after sniffing her out she ends up back at her house. This causes more problems as an Alpha being near an Omega during her heat brings on a chemical reaction that they both cannot deny. Try as they might to just engage in just sex, the animal reaction takes over and two people who never wanted to be bonded to anyone end up mated together. But now they are faced with a problem as the person Karn needs to turn over to Largos to save his life has just become the one person he is now duty bound to protect.

The relationship that Karn and Adaria have is unusual but incredibly awesome to witness. Karn is funny, kind and strong. He loves been a mercenary and admits that it is no life to drag an Omega into which is why he has never mated, but once he does his entire outlook on life changes and he realises that there is more to life than work or the adrenaline rush he gets from fighting. Adaria is also a fighter in her own way and even when she becomes bonded to Karn she does not want to become the docile Omega that submits to his every word. She enjoys challenging him and tries to keep her own personality throughout which I loved. But she is more than happy to submit to him in the bedroom and boy are those scenes steaming hot and sizzling with chemistry.

This is the second book in the Legion Omega Series and I would highly recommend that you read the first book before this one. The characters featured in The Omega Prize are in this book and it would contain spoilers. Although you may be able to follow the plot you will get more out of it by reading them as a series. I enjoyed the catch up we got from Zander and Bree but what I loved more is that we got to see Rainer again as I loved the cocky, playful Alpha. So you can imagine my delight to find out that the next book will feature him and Red, one of the Omega’s that Adaria helps to rescue in this book. I absolutely loved Rainer and am so glad that he is getting his own book and from the glimpses we have seen of the fiery Omega Red I am sure it will be one hell of a book.

Overall, I loved this book and the more I dive into Leann Ryans Omegaverse the more that I love it. Karn is a brilliant, strong yet funny character and he more than met his match with the independent, stubborn Omega Adaria. Whilst their relationship may not have followed a traditional romantic path, it was normal within the Alpha/Omega world. It was great to watch their relationship develop after they bonded. The love and care that they have for each other and also the need to protect each other is beautiful. While neither of them wanted to be bonded to another, when it does happen they realise they are actually more than happy. I really enjoyed this book and I cannot wait for more!

Wow, an exciting fusion of omegaverse, romantic suspense, sci-fi and erotica.

We first met Karn in The Omega Prize and whilst this is a stand alone read I think you would enjoy this even more if you read that first. (Especially as there are several other characters in both books). The entire story arch is completed in this book, so there is no having to get the next book to complete the story - which is a huge bonus for those who don't care for cliff-hangers.

Leann Ryans really has given her own spin to the omegaverse genre and created a series of books that easy to read, fun and sexy. The more I read, the more I found myself being drawn into the story. Karn and Adaria are both wonderfully written characters, with all those qualities I love in a hero and heroine. Karn is alpha, protective and caring without being too arrogant, whilst Adaria is feisty, strong and determined without being whiney or bitchy.

Plenty of sub-plots and side characters give the story plenty of depth and really enrich the reading experience. This is only the authors second book but already I could see how her technique and skill is growing. I enjoyed book #1 and this one is even better - I can't wait for Red and Rainor's story. You'll have to read this one to know who they are but it's already shaping up to be a fantastic read

This is a romance.

This book features Karn, the secondary character from the first book and Adaria.

Largo is an Omega Trafficker, kidnapping or buying omegas off different planets and selling them for a high price. Except, the last few shipments have been stopped due to the omegas somehow escaping. Largo enlists the help of seven foot five Karn to find out who is behind stealing what he's stolen. Guess who it is? Yup, it's Aradia-- a plucky omega who puts herself in danger to save the omegas. These two who should be pitted against each other, cannot fight their base desires.

I loved Karn in the first book, that's why I read this one and was not disappointed. Aradia is awesome too, calm in the face of extreme pressure--she perfectly matches Karn's energy.

This book is a short story, with the last 11% a preview for the third book which I plan on queuing up because I like the world this author built and the characters are vivid. The author tells a story that kept me interested to the very end. It only took me a day to read it.

I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

I was sent a copy of this book by the author i exchange for an honest review.
This is book 2 in the Omega series and this time we center our attention on Zander's mate Karn whom he met at the fight when Zander won Brie. Karn is hired by Largo to find out who is releasing the omegas he's traffiking. Little does he realize it's a little pocket -rocket by the name of Adaria. Sadly for Adaria she goes into heat while Karn is very close by and he takes advantage of the situation to help her through the intense pain. Unfortunately for Karn, Adaria bites him, marking him as her mate so he feels obligated to return the favor. As the story progresses we see Karn's feelings for Adaria grow and he decides to side with her against Largo to stop the whole trafficking business. We catch up with Zander and Brie again as well as Zander's friend Rainor who meets Red.
As with every book of Leann Ryans' that I've read, I found it hard to put this book down and I am now drooling waiting for book 3 to see what Rainor gets up to.
I highly recommend this author.

Sexy Fun

I love that Leann's books have interesting characters and many different kinds of people. She bas combined the Alpha/Omega Dynamic with science fiction adventure. There is good, heated sex along with humor and Alphas who don't feel they have to lock up their Omegas and beat them down into submission. Our heroes can see that their Omegas have skills and partner with them outside of the nest. They are still very protective, but fight their instincts and understand that their Omegas need a life outside of the nest to be happy. Of course, in the nest, Alphas rule.

decent

i wasn't too happy to find the darkest skinned female main character i've read in some time wasn't even HUMAN. kind of annoying, since the first lady was human, and the third lady only has non human eyes. and adaria was supposedly so independant, but then did something so stupid and potentially dangerous that she had to be assisted. yeah,SUPER able to take care of herself *sarcasm*. those two things made me not enjoy the book AS MUCH as i would have if she were a human, with brain cells, but despite that,i do love karn, and zander,so it wasn't all terrible.

Another great read

Thoroughly enjoyable story with a feisty heroine and an arrogant alpha male who thinks he can control her. But mistake.! Great read Ms Ryans. I like the fact that your heroines are not all white females but women of colour, even though they are not human;! Really liked the strength of Adaria and Karn can be forgiven for occasionally losing his cool when his Omega puts herself in danger!! Great read!! I am now going to read Book 3!! Red and Rainor's story as Red is another independent Omega!! Should be fun!;

Who’s the Alpha Here?

“Who’s the alpha here?” is something Karn asks his Omega in this book. It’s a fair question at times too. She is great...definitely a take charge woman...except she tends to refuse to listen when it’s most important. I enjoyed this book and found the character of Adaria great, but annoying at times. Karn was my favorite character in the first book in this series, and I enjoyed him in this book too.

Loved it

Couldn't put the series down. I enjoyed how the feisty omega Adaria was the one to force the mating claim on Karn. The descriptions were wonderfully written. I look forward to reading the next installment of the legion omega series!

Thrilling

I love how the Omega in this story was fierce and a hero as much as the Alpha. This was a really good read, and I really like Karen and Adaria relationship wasn’t the normal omega Alpha relationship. Where they spend the whole time denying their feelings for each other or beating her into submission. It had just enough spice and thrill to keep you drawn in and wanting more. I can’t wait to read about Red.

2 1/2 Stars - An entertaining read until near the end when the heroine acts completely out of character just so the hero can save her . . . really.

I truly enjoyed reading this intriguing alpha/omega romance with a slightly dark undertone. It is the second book in the series “The Legion Omegas” there are some character crossovers but this book is complete & standalone. I found the plot to be well-written & entertaining, it has some excellent scene descriptions. The main characters are strong-willed & are quite determined to hold onto their independence, they display realistic & believable emotional feelings & reactions to the unexpected situations they find themselves in.
There is: a feisty independent omega (Adaria) molded by a sad past has turned to rescuing abducted omegas, a strong & determined alpha (Karn) happens to notice her & tracks her down, a despicable crime-lord boss (Largo), a space station, spaceships, alphas, omegas, betas, Darilian aliens, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, drama, memories, abductions, escapes, anger, suspicions, threats, heat issues, nesting, instincts, claiming, defiance, determination, friends, manipulations, devious plans, conflict, punishment, contentment, some steamy scenes & a happy conclusion.

Adaria is an Omega, and she's a tricksy one. She's been caught by traffickers, once on accident, and more than once on purpose. She keeps getting caught because she helps rescue other Omegas.

Karn is hired by Largo so that he can figure out who is stealing his Omegas. Largo has something over Karn, so he has to do it. But then, Karn finds Adaria.

I liked Karn when we met him in the last book. So, getting to see him in his own book was exciting. And it only made me like him more. He's pretty awesome, and very honorable, and will do what he needs to in order to do the job.

Adaria is resourceful and not at all what most people think Omegas are like, which is what makes her so perfect for what she does.

I really loved them together, and I am happy to see them get together. I can't wait for the next book.

I am really pleased with this book. It is an Omega-Alpha book but not like the typical ones that are out there. And I really like that it stands out. This is not a dark Omegaverse romance.
As a matter of my opinion, it is very reminiscent of Ruby Dixon’s Corsair series...and I mean that as a huge compliment. In no way is Ms. Ryan copying Ms. Dixon’s work. But her writing style is similar in that series, so her book is very enjoyable to read.
The H & h are both strong characters in this story. No weaklings to be found here.
My only complaint is how some of the dialogue is written between characters and at times it was hard to follow.
I highly recommend this book to those who like a Sci-Fi Alpha romance. I will definitely keep an eye out for this author and any other work she releases.

This is the second book of the series and I think I loved it more than the first! I loved Karn , giant of an Alpha both fierce and compassionate. He has no need for an omega with his profession but unlike a lot of Alphas Karn has a gentler soul than most beneath his giant persona. Adaria is a feisty, independent self sufficient omega who knows how to take care of herself and knows how to get what she wants. And get what she needs in the the moment is exactly what she does! This novel has enough angst, passion and action to keep you turning the pages. I loved it! Can’t wait for the next one!

This is the second book in this series. I like that this isn't the usual m/f Omegaverse you see. Don't get me wrong I love all the Omegaverse I've found out there. But it is also kinda nice to read one that isn't really dark.

The 2 Main Character's in this book are so great! I loved Karn from the first book, so I was super happy he got his own story! And I love how Adaria is so independent. It makes for a super interesting book! I also like how you get a bit more story between Karn and Adaria then in the first story.

Also the world building is very good. And I liked seeing the different alien races that are in her book and how they look and act.

Loved this book. I was intrigued about Karns story after meeting him in the first book of the series and this book did not disappoint. These books are part of a series but can be each read as standalones.
I was pleasantly surprised by Karn in this book. I had pictured his personality a little different in the first book but Im happy with how he turned out. I love Adaria - she is a brilliant spunky character who takes no nonsense.
I Really am loving this series and cannot wait to read the next one.

I love this series. I really enjoy Omegaverse but not always the darkness. The hero and the heroine are strong characters. I love the independence of the heroine, so many of these stories curtail independence and free thinking. While I love a good power exchange story, I get tired of males taking all power from females. Adaria holds onto her power and I love that. Can't wait to read the next one!
