Never Let A Unicorn Get Spots is about a little girl who wakes up one day to her Unicorn covered in SPOTS! At first they seem harmless but then they turn into Silly SNEEZING SPOTS! She has to find a solution and quick before these spots keep spreading. In the end the most magical thing happens to actual cure the spots!
Cute story about how to get rid of the spots on the unicorn. Could be used to talk about how germs spread but not very clear on that message. Also could be used to talk about sharing your own art style. The illustrations bring this book up to a 3-star review. They are charming and fun and full of joy.

I read all five in a row and I absolutely love the little girl's imagination and how she brings her unicorn to life while sharing chaotic adventures together!
Put a goofy grin on my face.
I received a complimentary copy of these ebooks. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This is a cute story by Diane Alber all about spots. They just happen to be on a unicorn. A little girl who loves at work uses her problem solving skills to help a friend in need. She woke up and her unicorn had spots. She foreclosed and they were sunspots and when he sneezed they went all over the room. What could she Do to make them go away. Bandage them. Still there. She tried that he them off. Nope, still there. She took a nap and when she got up, he unicorn was gone. Where was he? We're the spots gone? Yes, no. Yes, no. You get to read and see the wondrous illustrations to go along with the words. I found this book on a website for free for an honest review.
Most children, at some time or another, dream of owning a unicorn. This little girl has one and the unicorn has bright-colored spots - what could have caused those? She gets her doctor bag and examines those spots and then tries to find a cure for them. Bandages don't work, baths don't work, naps don't work for either the unicorn or our little girl. Then the answer arrives by way of the unicorn creating art work. Children are very good at trying to make messes disappear and maybe the unicorn has the answer. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Sourcebooks Wonderland, in exchange for a review.
This is a fantastic book for young children in so many different ways. I think each and every one of us has dreamt of meeting a unicorn at some point in our lives. First, young children can all relate to being sick at some point in their life and having cared for or being taken care of. Next, young children can relate to making a mess and not wanting to get in trouble for it. Last, everyone can relate to wishing that something would magically disappear. Guess what, the unicorn 🦄 makes the spots disappear !
Diane Alber wrote and illustrated this book, I am really impressed by how good she is doing both things. It's a really rare thing to find a multitalented artist like this. Both story and pictures are sooo fun, light and bright! What a great sense of humor! And the ending is so good and strong - Teaching kids about the healing power of art. I feel very uplifted and inspired by this book - I strongly recommend it!
Adorable book! The illustrations are precious and the story idea is genius, but my favorite part is the extended learning section in the back of the book. As a librarian who's always searching for ideas for new crafts for my littlest patrons, these tips and ideas are SO helpful! I will definitely try them during our next storytime. Recommended!

The Funny Unicorn series is a kids series that (so far) focuses on art as a way to broach broader topics and this book is a great one for that. This one deals (on a very surface level) with health issues and I thought it did a good job of combining art and health for young kids.
I discovered the unicorn books in kindle unlimited and this is the Second we have read. We LOVE THEM! Engaging, perfect length and love that we can read anywhere! (Waiting for a hair cut, in line at the store, or on her teen sisters to get ready ✔️✔️✔️ I even think they will becoming to a bookshelf in our home soon :)
This was a very cute book. I liked how the child talked about the spots not going away and trying different things to make the spots go away. What will it take to make the spots go away or will they? I would recommend this book to anyone who has little children and even those who work with children.
This book is adorable! I like the art style and the lighthearted, fun story which accompanies it. I'm not entirely convinced it has a lesson or moral attached, but I also don't think every single book a child reads needs to teach an obvious lesson. The story is cute and the discussion suggestions at the end can help make storytime with the kids more interesting.

Thank you for the ARC. This was a cute series to read to my son. He’s a bit young for the lessons but for older kids, it will be great. I socially appreciate the learning tool at the back of the book.
This story was about not spreading germs aka the spots. The illustrations are fun and it was a cute story.
My daughter loves unicorns, so I found this book. We loved the story, but the ending was kind of odd. Not gonna spoil, but to me it didnt fit. Not horrible, just not on my top 20.
The illustrations are adorable and the message caring and sweet. Additional extended learning bonus on the last page is a terrific way to encourage young artists.
What a fun, imaginative, and unique story. Who as ever heard of a unicorn with spots. And the lesson in the end- the healing power of art- what a great ending! I didn't see it coming.
I gave this book 5 stars because it's such a great book for little ones. It has great lessons and i absolutely love the series. I've read about 4 to my daughter so far and can't wait to read the rest.
I love these stories and so does my 3 year old. We download one once a week and it's her bed time highlight. I love the way they really and always give us a discussion topic
If your unicorn gets spots (from telling silly jokes) it's nearly impossible to get them out. You can't wash them out or use bandaids to peel them off. You just have to wait until your unicorn uses them to create art. This is part of a series about a little girl and her friend, the unicorn.
My baby girl LOVES all things unicorns and she loved this book. The fact that the unicorn had spots was amazing to her. We laughed and talked about how the unicorn would solve the problem. The discussion lasted longer than I thought...we will read this one again.
This book reminded me of the 1960s book, "Put Me in the Zoo" by Robert Lopshire. Fun illustrations and I thought the lesson plan page in the back was good for teachers. I'm glad there is a series by this author.
This book is adorable and would be a good addition to a primary grade or an art class library. I also like that the author provides extension activities for deeper learning.
