Grounded: The Coverton Chronicles

Rate this book
The people of Coverton are still coming up missing and Selby’s sister was one person too many. She has the mystery of the rest of her family’s death to solve, too. She’s dedicated to one thing and one thing only. Family.

She found allies reaching for a similar goal. That’s all. She doesn’t have time for friendship and love. The people she has on her side doesn’t understand it’s just business. The shifter who has his eyes on her doesn’t seem to get it.

Who has time for friends and romance when there’s an angry vampire to track, a nefarious company to shut down, and possible murders to solve?

This book starts a couple of months after the events of the previous book Reflected, following the same wonderful group of people, with some additions. It is best read in order due to the main plot. As with the previous book, the author maintains the amazing prologue practice, following the history of Mila, Mira and Milena. And the author's writing is beautifully consistent and the style is uniquely hers.
The focus of the story is Selby, and due to her personal situation, the tone is immediately more serious. It was lovely to get to know her more and see her grow and a person, and evolve, shedding the secrecy and indoctrination imposed by her parents.
It was also lovely to see more of Tysen and his pack, as well as the rest of the crew. They are tirelessly working on solving the mysterious deaths and applying all the skills and knowledge at their disposal, as well as introducing new interesting friends to the cause.
Although Selby's story is resolved, the main plot remains a mystery. I am so curious to see where this is going and who is going to be the focus of the next book. And I am looking forward to find out. This was a great book, I enjoyed it greatly. The author has proven, once again, why she became one of my favourites after just a few pages.

I really enjoyed this follow on from Reflected. You get to learn more about the characters, and the way in which the group works together. Learning more about Selby, a reasonably introverted character to start with, was great. The author builds you up throughout the book, in a way that makes it impossible to put down. Can't wait for more!

Great read!
Book 2 of the Coverton chronicles will not disappoint.
Much like book one it has genuine characters, loads of action and throws sass like glitter.
Again it leaves me waiting for more from this amazing author.
Pick up a copy of Reflected and Grounded and see for yourself!

Picking up where the first book left off we learn so much more about the pack and how their system works. Plenty of action and suspense while everyone gets things done that need to be done. I can not wait to read the next book. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book

Great book! once I started reading I couldn't put it down. The way the characters interact is probably one of my favourite things about this series. The teasing and one liners going back and forth between them is hilarious and really had me laughing out loud. There wasn't a dull moment and I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next! Definately a book I would recommend.
