Bit of an abrupt ending.

Nice ending. I wish we had had an epilogue to see where all the characters were at in the future but that is my preference. We got to see her feel fully secure in her relationship and I like that.

un shojo con clichés con vida propia. Son tan descarados los clichés que hacen hasta gracia. Entretenido y tierno en algunos momentos. Sin más.

The last two vols were definitely slower but I kind of liked how Reita was shown turning into a more grown up and mature type of idiot.

There are so many GOOD things about this series. The snowball fight was cute. I actually don’t mind the main lead male had to wait. But…the girl just had the same pain point throughout the whole series, over and over. It got old. I lost the connection and excitement for her and the story. I also wanted to see more with female lead’s mom and dad.
The humor was good throughout, liked that A LOT. It sustained me.
Liked being able to jump through the window thing. I thought that was a fun part of the story. Wouldn’t have minded them making a joke about that at some point.
The wall thing did get old for me at one point but liked that they sort of redeemed it near the end. And they joked once about it being overused. Layers like that, I enjoy.
Yusuke did not get a satisfactory anything. Like come on, at least try to wrap his story up. He just felt like a tool by the author. Same with her best friend.
I wanted to see a little more depth on the main male lead. It was close to being enough for me, just wanted a litttttttle more outside of the whole intimacy thing.
The ending in general was abrupt.
Enjoyed the comics at the end of each volume.

Esta obra manga shojo me ha conquistado por completo.
Cuando comencé su lectura no tenía muy claro si me gustaría o no (𝘴𝘰𝘣𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘰, 𝘥𝘶𝘥𝘢𝘣𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘭𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘫𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢) pero debo reconoceros que, en el tomo número cinco, mis dudas se disiparon y quedé totalmente prendada de ambos.
Se trata de un shojo muy entretenido, con muy buenos toques de humor, que hacen que sea muy ameno de leer y, con una historia de las que llegan y conquistan.
Hacía tiempo que un shojo no me gustaba tantísimo y me dejaba tan buen sabor de boca 🖤

Es un shojo que siempre me ha gustado y que ahora he podido terminar de leer y completar la colección.
Es una historia amena, divertida y sencilla sobre dos amigos de la infancia, sus dudas, sus miedos...
Si lees este shojo con otra mentalidad, sinceramente no te va a gustar, porque acorralar a una chica contra la pared se convierte en romántico y parece que el mejor modo de expresar tu amor hacia tu pareja es acostándose con él. Sin embargo, no veo que sobrepase el límite y se puede disfrutar de una lectura azucarada.
Reita es un amor.

La série est vraiment super douce et mignonne. C'est tout innocent et l'amitié des personnages principaux est vraiment belle et précieuse. J'ai bcp aimée l'évolution de Makoto vis-à-vis de sa relation avec Reita. L'évolution de leur relation amoureuse est certes lente mais les voir apprendre à se connaître sous un nouvel angle est vraiment agréable à lire.
La fin est parfaite c'est exactement ce que je voulais je me sens satisfaite.

Well, it’s the end. I would have liked a bonus story about Yusuke finding a girlfriend, but such was not meant to be. I did like the bonus story about Reita’s cat, though! If only I felt as drawn and connected to the main leads... It’s a cute series, but it pretty much follows the friends-to-lovers route with few speed bumps or any major twists.

I don’t know why my original review of this was removed and I don’t know why this series markets itself as being a cute ‘butterfly inducing’ romance; it is anything but. Repeatedly cornering a girl and complaining about having to ‘wait’ over and over again is not love and not romantic. Should not be tagged as shojo.

Loved it.
It was just a teaser as to what Makoto & Reita have together years down the road. I would love to see even more because I fell in love with those 2 and I really wanted to see Yusuke find love after liking Makoto.
Plus I DON'T WANT THE SERIES TO END!

El final del manga me ha gustado. Como ya he dicho, el personaje de Reita ha ido evolucionando a mejor. El de Makoto tengo la sensación de que ha terminado cayendo en estereotipos propios de este género, y eso que al principio me dio otra sensación.

This series was really cute. Definitely not a new FAVORITE but I did have a lot of fun reading it and would recommend it. I'm glad it's not any longer though as parts of it did start to feel a little repetitive as it went on. Read this whole series for free with Comixology Unlimited.

Ahh, such a cute ending to this lovely series! I’m glad I happened to come across this series by chance - the MCs were adorable, the side characters added some laughs at times, and ending wrapped up nicely 💖

These two acted like the perfect awkward teens in a relationship. Also, it feels like they turned into entirely different characters compared to the first volume, so I guess the had some character development?

Una bonita forma de cerrar la historia pero tampoco es que estos capitulos aporten mucho a la historia en general. Puede que con seis tomos fueran suficiente.

Quattro stelle su cinque più che altro per differenziarlo dalle due precedenti serie (A kiss, for Real e My Boy in Blue) a cui ho dato, arrotondando, tre stelline.
Il genere romantico non è il mio preferito, ed evito il più possibile l'eccessivo dramma; non mi dispiacciono, invece, le commedie romantiche, e The Walls Between US ha il vantaggio di divertire, grazie alla simpatica caratterizzazione dei due protagonisti.
Makoto e Reita sono vicini di casa e amici da sempre. Quando lui chiede a lei di uscire insieme, Makoto pensa che la stia semplicemente prendendo in giro: Reita è il ragazzo più popolare della scuola e le ragazze certo non gli mancano, anzi; le sue storie, però, non durano mai un granché, dato che il nostro non è certo una cima. Makoto è più che convinta che non potrebbe mai innamorarsi di un narcisista sicuro che non ci sia ragazza che non gli cada ai piedi; per di più lo ha sempre visto come un fratello, o almeno è quello che vuole raccontarsi. In realtà, non è che Makoto non provi nulla per Reita, ma scottata dal divorzio dei suoi genitori, ha sempre evitato le relazioni sentimentali: ha paura che se le cose tra lei e Reita non dovessero funzionare, finirebbe per perdere la persona più importante della sua vita, che le è sempre stata accanto nel momento del bisogno...
I principali punti di forza della serie, almeno secondo i miei parametri, sono la brevità (per certe storie non è il caso di tirarla troppo per le lunghe), e la comicità di alcune situazioni, con Reita che non si spiega come Makoto possa respingerlo e lei che fa di tutto per autoconvincersi di non essere innamorata del suo amico d'infanzia. C'è poi "quella cosa del muro" per cui Reita sembra proprio avere una fissazione, e che spesso invece finisce per trasformarsi da situazione romantica a comica. Sto parlando del kabe-don, che nella realtà si configura come una vera e propria molestia, ma che nel mondo dello shōjo, chissà perché, diventa magicamente il top dei momenti da batticuore.
Molto accattivante anche il disegno, leggero e sempre pulito.
In negativo, il cliché del terzo incomodo, che personalmente detesto e che quindi fa sempre scendere i miei voti. Diciamo che in questo caso abbiamo comunque un sette pieno.

Un buen tomo final que no deja ningún cabo suelto.
Sorprendentemente, este último tomo me ha gustado mucho y los temas que ha tratado sobre el amor, las relaciones personales y cómo van creciendo y madurando los personajes me ha terminado gustando.
Sigo creyendo que se excede en clichés y que intenta meter todos los de la romántica de una sola vez, sin miramientos y sin calentar antes. Esto ha hecho que en algunos momentos el desarrollo de la historia me chirriara porque pasaban cosas que no venían muy a cuento o sentía que estaban metidas con calzador.
A pesar de todo ello, me ha parecido un buen tomo para poner punto y final a esta historia de adolescentes enamorados con un toque maduro. Es cierto que a lo largo de la historia no pasa nada excesivamente interesante ni hay giros inesperados que sorprendan al lector; pero creo que sí que tiene un punto a favor y es que trata el tema del primer amor adolescente de una manera realista.
Es un manga divertido, con toques maduros que puede servir para entretener durante un rato y hacer que no pienses demasiado en tramas pesadas y enrevesadas. Es una lectura amena que te sacará más de una sonrisa llena de adolescentes con sus hormonas revolucionadas.

Feeling Fufilled
I can't imagine a better ending to this series. I'm happy to have given it a chance, wasn't too sure in the beginning. If you lived romance that gets your heart pumping and makes you feel complete when you reach the end, than The Walls Between Us a go.
