Who is Team One?

Dr. Erian Kane, a high flying young director of a major Earth department.

Tanigan Mclane, an ace mercenary for hire anywhere across settled space, for an exorbitant fee of course.

Casandra Willow, a young woman still making her way. She controls a great power, as much a burden as it is a gift.

And starbase, well, starbase is an ancient alien relic that hasn't moved in more than two thousand years.

What brings this team together is the arrival of a cryptic, ancient being, named Orion. Thousands of years old, incredibly powerful, and totally merciless.

Can Orion use our galaxy as his first step to destroying most of the known universe? Or will Team One, jumping between star systems, alien worlds, and escaping from black holes, be able to beat Orion against all the odds?

Team One won't stop fighting until they win, or all go down together!

I won the kindle e-book version in a Goodreads Giveaway. This is the first book that I have read by this author.

David MacNamera did a great job with world-building in this novel as well as portraying major characters that have very different skills and personalities but that work well as a team. The team is assembled due to the arrival of a being that is very powerful and is quickly found to be very destructive.

This book combines multiple species, multiple planets, mercenaries, psychic powers, team leadership, politics, revenge, artificial intelligence, friendship, advanced weapons and so much more. Who lives? Who dies? Will there be a peaceful solution? I recommend you read the book to find out.

I won this book in a goodreads drawing.

Old fashioned space opera, about a trio of adventurers who travel to different planets, and end up in a cosmic conflict. I could do without the psionic stuff, but most of the book is pretty good. It starts out with a battle for survival on a distant planet, but soon becomes something else.

Kept my interest.
