Survive the adventure. Live to love.

Following a family emergency, snowboarder Tevyn Moore and financier Mallory Armstrong leave Donner Pass in a blizzard… and barely survive the helicopter crash that follows. Stranded with few supplies and no shelter, Tevyn and Mallory—and their injured pilot—are forced to rely on each other.

The mountain leaves no room for evasion, and Tevyn and Mal must confront the feelings that have been brewing between them for the past five years. Mallory has seen Tevyn through injury and victory. Can Tevyn see that Mallory's love is real?

Mallory’s job is risk assessment. Tevyn's job is full-on risk. But to stay alive, Mallory needs to take some gambles and Tevyn needs to have faith in someone besides himself. Can the bond they discover on the mountain see them to rescue and beyond?

When I met Amy Lane a few years back, I told her that one of her recent books had shattered my heart into a thousand pieces. She looked at me and said, "That book wasn't Dani approved." So you see, I am allowed to read only Amy Lane Lite, Amy's lighter stories without the full-on pain and angst.

Which is not to say Warm Heart is all kittens and rainbows, because it's not. This book is about surviving: surviving in a blizzard on a mountain top, surviving the death of a loved one, surviving long enough to get your wounded friend to safety, surviving for five years while the love of your life goes through hook-ups like socks.

Tevyn is an Olympic snowboarder. Mallory is his financial adviser. Mallory rarely misses one of Tevyn's competitions. He claims he's just doing his job, but he clearly goes above and beyond for his favorite client. Mal likes to watch Tevyn fly.

Tevyn—a decade Mal's junior, free-spirited, charming, impulsive—knows he can count on Mal; he's just waiting for Mal to catch up.

Mal kissed him softly ... "If there's breath in my body, I'll stay."

Tevyn nodded. "If there's breath in my body, I'll always fly down the mountain for you."

One night Mal gives in and dances with Tevyn. The timing isn't great though, because Mal arrives bearing sad news: Tevyn's grandmother, the woman who raised him, is dying. Tevyn and Mal, along with their pilot and friend Damien, take off in a helicopter during a blizzard, and the unthinkable happens.

The first 60 percent of the story is set in a raging snowstorm with the three men trying to survive. The weather may be freezing, but things between Tevyn and Mal heat up quickly, as the two finally (finally!) give into their feelings and kiss.

I appreciated the slower pacing of the story because it gave me a chance to see not only how Tevyn and Mal are together but how they deal with the curveballs life may throw their way (and nearly dying in a helicopter crash is one hell of a curveball!).

Hurt/comfort is the predominant theme in the story, but there's a focus on family and friendship and dogs. Damien is basically the third MC in the first half of the book, not that I minded, because he is amazing, and I can't wait for his story next.

I'm less in love with Charlie, Mal's friend and business partner. I didn't care for her attitude toward Tevyn. I know she was just protecting Mal, but Mal's a grownass man and didn't need protecting from the love of his life.

The epilogue is all kinds of sweetness, what with hand-knitted sweaters, dog kisses, and promises of forever.

This series is gonna kill me, but what a way to go.

This was a fun read, but not the type of story that I typically gravitate toward.

I usually want quite a bit of slow burn in my books, but in this story, the majority of the slow burn happened during the five years prior to the start of the story, with feelings actually divulged by the MC's within just a few chapters in.

While trying to rush back to see Tevyn's sick grandmother before she died, Tevyn, Mallory and their pilot, Damien, crashed their helicopter on top of a mountain during a fierce snow storm, leaving them with very few supplies and entirely cut off from help.

I did enjoy the survival plot, which lasted until around 65% into the book, but with so much to do to simply stay alive, while the romance was present, the never-ending storm was pretty omnipresent.

I have to say that I loathe being cold, so the damn near arctic conditions described as their days of being stranded were drawn-out chapter after chapter, well, I was really, really, REALLY ready for them to be rescued.

Mal and Tevyn were pretty adorable characters and I enjoyed seeing their relationship grow, while keeping a lid on their hormones until after they made their way back to civilization and much-needed medical attention for Damien.

Then once they'd been saved, the rest of the book was a bit of a whirlwind, which kinda sort felt slightly fast-paced, but not really annoyingly so. I suspect I'd just gotten used to how slow things has progressed previously, with them stuck in a snowy little cave for days on end.

The angst was 99% a side-effect of... SNOW, with an itty bit thrown in by the grandmother's decline in health.

There were three steamy scenes, which were pretty damn hot, so enough fun times in bed, but the reader wasn't ever in danger of being buried in an avalanche of dick.

Amy told me that she's currently writing Damien and Preston's story, so I'm anxiously awaiting to read about their adventures, but also PRAYING that it's on a warm, sunny beach somewhere.

I'd rate this book at around 3.75 stars and recommend it to fans of rescue stories. And snow. *shivers*

I really enjoyed this, this was a solid romance story. I really do love when Amy Lane deviates from total and complete angst, although with some light angst in there to keep it interesting.

This follows the story of Mallory Armstrong and Tevyn Moore, who have known each other for five years, and loved each other for about that long and have never done anything about it. Mallory is ten years older then Tevyn and is his financial advisor and consultant or whatever, and Tevyn is a professional snowboarder who has gone to the Olympics and medaled in them and so on. He got endorsements and more money with the help of Mallory, and they've just been dancing around each other for too long.

And Mallory goes to where Tevyn had his latest competition to tell him about his grandmother who raised Tevyn, who is fading fast and who Tevyn needs to see before she goes.

Only thing is, where they are at a blizzard is coming in, and they have to leave fast, but they don't leave fast enough and get caught in the winds and such from the blizzard and get in a wreck on a mountain with their pilot friend who gets injured, and they have to survive in the blizzard with little food and barely enough to help keep their friend stable enough to survive.

I thought reading about their survival in the mountain was an interesting read and seeing these two come together was great.

I liked their chemistry and they were sweet together once they got together, and the sex, once we got to it, was indeed hot.

Since this is one of Lane's lighter reads (and yep, lighter for Lane is the MC's getting stuck in a mountain in a blizzard after a helicopter crash lol) there wasn't a ton of plot to it other than them surviving the mountain and getting to safety, and realizing their feelings for each other and finally getting together.

As always, this was well written and engaging, with these two having great chemistry, and the secondary characters were interesting too and I suspect they'll be getting their own stories too.

So overall I recommend this, this was a good, run, fairly light read with a great romance to go along with a fun plot.

Two thumbs up from me! <3

Warm Heart, while an Amy Lane book that starts with a catastrophic event, was surprisingly fluffy. Is my angst meter that broken? I enjoyed the story, but man I wish we could have experienced at least some of that UST from the 5 years previous to the story's beginning.

Tevyn Moore is a champion snowboarder -- think Shaun White. He's young, cocky, and confident; at least when it comes to snowboarding. He's also been in love with his money guy for ages, but he doesn't think his feelings are returned. Tevyn also has a bit of a reputation. He's kind of known as a bit of a player, but everyone loves him, and the people he has taken to his bed leave with smiles on their faces.

Mallory Armstrong is Tevyn's money guy. Ever since Tevyn walked into his office, more than 5 years ago, Mallory has been enthralled by Tevyn's drive and energy. Mallory is in love with Tevyn, but being a decade older than Tevyn, he is cautious. Mallory isn't looking for Mr. Right Now and he's not sure if Tevyn is ready to settle down.

There is nothing like a catastrophic event to put people's priorities in perspective. Being faced with your death and/or the death of someone you care about has a way of opening your eyes to what you almost lost. That's exactly what happens in Warm Heart. I can't say that the story is entirely angst-free, but everything happened too fast for my tastes. I like to feel some tension between the MC's, but I didn't get that. 95% the angst came from the survival aspect of the story, which was 2/3 of the book, and the rest from Tevyn's grandmother's impending death. None of it was relationship angst or tension.

Did I enjoy it, anyway? Yes, and that is why I rounded up.

I loved that getting down the mountain took effort and that it wasn't just the two of them. That did give me something to chew on and the fact that all three of the characters had knowledge and skills that contributed to their rescue, made sure that no one was "just" a prop. I can't say I was unhappy they made it off the mountain, though, because did I mention 2/3 of the book?

I'm looking forward to Damien's story, next. I enjoyed getting to know Damien quite a lot in this story and Preston looks like a tough cookie to crack.

For five years, Mallory thought Tevyn was too young for him, and Tevyn was too gun shy from past losses to dare anything more than one-night stands. So Mallory took care of Tevyn's affairs, leaving the young man free to shine and win on the snowboard slopes. But now, as Tevyn's beloved grandmother is fading fast, Mallory is almost ready to be more than just a manager, and Tevyn is almost ready to risk his heart. If life left them alone, this would be the moment they fell into each other's arms, bodies, maybe hearts. But fate is a bitch, and instead, they fall out of the sky in a helicopter in the middle of a blizzard. Love has to take a back seat to survival, even while knowing they could lose each other puts a sharp edge on every moment together.

This was adventure and romance, slow burn only because... hypothermia, and had moments of humor. The survival aspect had some drama, but didn't plunge into the emotions or angst it might have, and the resolution was sweet. Even the aftermath reactions were shown to us in retrospect, when a real time panic attack would have added more poignancy. Definitely a lighter, fluffier Amy Lane, with appealing main characters, and a warm ending. A couple of characters with more difficult pasts look like the prospective MCs for a future book, and I'll be onboard for that one.

I really wanted to like this, but this didn’t feel like the Amy Lane I know. I’m not a fan of the angsty Amy Lane books, but the light ones I adore.

But I immediately felt like I was dropped in the middle of a series when I started this book.

The helicopter crash and the resulting survival these guys had to do was the one thing that made me finish this book. Because the romance was just so very underdeveloped.

These guys had already known each other for 5 years and somehow I never felt as if I caught up with them and their history.

I felt as if lots of things were assumed in this. Like after the crash when Mal hints at being in love with Tevyn, and Tevyn doesn’t really act surprised but just goes with it. It was weird how they never really reacted to life altering revelations. Damien mentions in passing that Mal loves Tevyn and Tevyn just goes back to what he is doing at that moment. The same with the actual I love yous, it was like it was mentioned in passing. There was no real start to the relationship. These guys just suddenly decided they were an item.

I felt like the emotions never went very deep. These guys start a relationship based on the fact that they’ve apparently loved each other for years, but that didn’t felt entirely right to me. Because it is also mentioned that Tevyn slept with anything that moves. Why would he do that when he actually loved Mal?

I was also quite confused sometimes and that has never happened to me with an Amy Lane book. These guys would talk about something and I would be completely lost. Like when Damien mentions Preston. I know this is supposed to be a hint/teaser/intro in the next book, but it just seemed strange how Damien suddenly ‘introduced’ Preston. Especially because both Tevyn and Mal knew him so they went with it, but I as a reader was confused and I felt it was weird that that information suddenly got dropped into a scene when I wasn’t expecting it.

“Leg doesn’t work, Mal. You’re cute. But you’re not Preston. Why aren’t you Preston, Mal? I woke up this morning and wanted Preston. He won’t even look at me if I’m not a Labrador retriever.”
“Well, we’ll have to get you back home so you can be a Labrador retriever for Preston! Okay?” “Can’t,” Damien said glumly. “He’s Gecko’s little brother. No touchin’ the little brother, Mal. That’s a rule.”
“Tell that to Blake Manning,” Tevyn said, because Mallory was busy fishing out a strip of T-shirt from the water. “Who’s tha’?”
“Guy who plays for my favorite band,” Tevyn told him, taking his own strip of T-shirt to wash the vinyl now that Mal had stripped the old gauze.
“Three guys in the band are older brothers, and he just got engaged to the fourth, the baby brother. You gotta be honest about it, I think.” He’d seen interviews—the way Cheever Sanders had looked at Blake Manning had made him yearn for things he’d never voiced to himself before.
“He’s young.” Damien sighed. “Likes dogs more’n people. Don’ blame him.”

These kind of conversations happened the entire time. Like I was supposed to know all of these people. It was weird and made me feel disconnected from the people and the story.

I had high hopes, but this wasn't the book for me.

Tevyn Moore ("shoulder-length curly blond hair flying, lithe, powerful athlete's body gyrating [with] a smile and a booty bump for everybody") has three Olympic medals and four World Championships but what he really longs for is his financial advisor, the sensible, stable guy who manages his finances and makes it possible for Tevyn to care for his beloved grandmother. However that hasn't stopped Tevyn from getting laid a lot ... "these guys [...] and girls - they're, you know, dance partners who got naked."

Mallory Armstrong is solid and rooted - "he was concrete when Tevyn was air" - while nurturing his "pathetic old-man crush" for five years and comparing every man he meets to Tevyn. And when Tevyn, Mallory and their pilot Damien crash on a snowy mountaintop, everything changes in a big hurry. Even though this book features a catastrophic helicopter crash with injuries, an epic struggle for survival and a harrowing trek down the side of a mountain, "Warm Heart" still rates considerably lower on the Amy Lane Angst-o-Meter than some of her other works (String Boys, I'm lookin' at you ....).

The story really holds your interest as the men work together to survive and find a way back home. After five years of basically foreplay, Tevyn and Mal are all-in on their relationship and their chemistry burns hot in a sexy handful of scenes. About 65% of the book is the escape down the mountain (which personally feels just a bit too elongated), while the remainder rapidly deals with the loss of Tevyn's grandmother, establishes the relationship between Damien and Preston for the next book in the series, quickly introduces some conflict in the person of Mal's very irritating business partner / former lover Charlie, and then gives us what is undeniably a perfectly lovely happy ending. 4 stars for this enjoyable read.
... love was always worth the risk, and that faith could be rewarded, and that whether you stayed on the mountain or came down, what mattered was you did it together.

I’m to the point in my Lane hoarding that I want to choose every Lane to love. And this one is so fresh (and frozen) and different but still encompasses everything I adore about Amy’s stories. We are in the midst of a heatwave and I loved slipping into the blustery snow-covered setting. I’m a sucker for snow. However, this snow wasn’t kind or forgiving. Things kick off with a startling crash. Helicopters and snowstorms aren’t a good mix. And this time, the angst comes in the form of mother nature. Survival is the name of the game. Despite the focus revolving around the men making it off the mountain top alive, the core of the story was most definitely all Tevyn and Mallory. I enjoyed both very much and was eager to see them claim their happily-ever-after.

What's to like: As with all Dreamspun Desires, the flow felt balanced and I’d consider this a fairly easy lighthearted read. Tevyn and Mallory have a professional relationship that has been on the cusp of becoming personal for quite some time. Tevyn is waiting for Mallory to make his move and Mallory is waiting for Tevyn to move on. He’s a decade older and thinks Tevyn deserves more or better. However, Tevyn knows exactly what he wants and he’s ready to take it. When they are suddenly faced with a life or death situation he can’t see the sense in holding back anymore. He’s just going to take and ask for forgiveness later, that is if he needs it. Turns out…he doesn’t. I was captivated with all of the survival tactics and was fascinated with Tevyn’s never-ending Go bag. I enjoyed all of the secondary cast except Mallory’s partner and best friend. She was rude and rude and rude. Besides Charlie, everyone was great. I’m thrilled this is a new series and look forward to Damien and Preston’s story.

What's to love: Not many people can take a deadly situation and sprinkle romance into the mix. Thankfully, Lane can. Even though danger loomed I felt the spark and the heat of their desires. Of course, there’s not a lot of naked dancing in a blizzard but the sexual tension was intense. I loved the loyalty and confidence they had in each other. I loved the deep harbored feelings that finally burst free. I loved how selflessly they cared for one another. I loved the pride Mallory had for Tevyn and the respect Tevyn had for Mallory. I loved Tevyn’s grandmother and her sweaters. The dramatic scene that saved their skin was a bit far fetched but nevertheless, I loved it. Finally, I loved the furry friend. Yep. There’s lots to love here.

Beware of: Severe weather forces a slow burn. Fierce determination keeps the coals burning. And a climactic plunge proves to be successful.

This book is for: Lane fans probably have this on their list, and if you don’t yet, get on it. I believe snow lovers and snow haters alike will enjoy this warm-hearted adventure.

Now this is what I’m talkin’ about! This is the Amy I love. Leave it to Amy to take a “stuck on a mountain in a blizzard” story and make it about hope and love and humor.

Normally I hate these kinds of stories. I grew up in the mountains and I totally don’t ever want to build a snow fort or live in a cave or do anything revolving around 5 layers of clothes. No thank you. And I don’t really love reading about being cold either.

But, Amy manages to take what might be cliché and make it totally different. There was a lot of “happy coincidences” that allow our guys to make it but she does make it seem at least mostly plausible. (I’m not sure about the final “snowboarding” bit… but it was fun to imagine! ;) )

I really enjoyed these characters and am looking forward to more in this series.

Highly recommended!

**3.5 stars**

I have a long and love-filled history with Amy Lane stories and I’m sure most have been four or five stars for me, but this one squeaked in at a 3.5 and the .5 is only for the warm and fuzzy feelings I’m left with from the end.

Tevyn is an Olympic-level snowboarder, in his midtwenties, strong-willed, driven, with a dying grandmother who raised him and a manager/financier who loves him. Mallory is that manager and has come out to Tevyn’s current event to let him know his Grandma Missy is in her last days in hospice care. Mal’s the kind of guy who wouldn’t have just called—because he cares too much for Tevyn. What he doesn’t know is that Tev cares for him as well. Each hopes they’ll get a chance to finally tell the other how they feel. When they leave to get Tevyn to her side, the helicopter they’re in is hit by a vicious updraft and crashes.

The two men and their injured pilot, a friend named Damian, survive the wilds for over 5 days in a snow cave they’ve hollowed out and through extremely ingenious and highly creative ways of making things work. The only luggage they pulled from the copter before it slipped over the cliff was Tevyn’s go-to bag and apparently that young man not only carries hand warmers, water, protein bars, and extra clothing, he knows creative ways of making those all work to help them survive. Together with Mal’s high-end wool overcoat with the silk lining, a thermal blanket, and creative weaving, they manage to keep out the wind, create snow shoes, and toward the end, they even manage an impossible slide down the mountain.

All of this lends to the excitement but the romance fell flat for me. We’re told about their past attraction and the current situation acts as a catalyst to get them talking, but when they declare their love for each other, it’s based more on the backstory that readers weren’t present for so their closeness feels more like insta-love. I didn’t feel the depth of emotion usually present in an Amy Lane story. The words were there but they didn’t penetrate my heart. I guess that’s the only way I can say this. I liked the men, separately and together, but not as a couple.

I totally disliked Mal’s best friend and former lover, Charlie, portrayed as nasty female who was jilted, though apparently she wasn’t. They parted amicably and are still business partners. And, supposedly, she and Mal have been friends for years. She acted more like a jealous bee-atch. So no, not good. I also liked Damian and his unrequited love for a young man named Preston. I hope their story is book two. In hindsight, I suspect my feelings on this book relate to how unbelievable their crash survival was and how even more bizarre their eventual trip down the mountain was. I guess you’d have to read it to believe it so don’t be put off by my review. If nothing else, it makes a great survival handbook.

This quickly became one of my rare 5-star reads.

I'll be honest, I don't have much use for fluffy Amy Lane, but I LOVE me some Angsty Lane! This wasn't quite rip-my-heart-out-and-stomp-on-it Lane, but it definitely leaned in that direction and I loved every minute of it.

I am really, really looking forward to Preston and Damien's story (although I really wish they wouldn't call him "Damie" - blech!).

A Joyfully Jay review.

4 stars

Amy Lane has released Warm Heart, her first in a new series. With their lives on the line, we watch Mallory and Tev admit the feelings both have kept hidden and desperately hope are returned in kind. With some fairly intense survival conditions motivating their every move, these two men realize that they either must come clean about how they feel or could potentially die without ever uttering those three magical words. As the basis for the new series, the author does a good job setting up who will get the focus in the next novel and creating the additional two characters with enough mystery surrounding them that I must admit I will want to be reading about them in the future.

The perfect blend of angst and sweet romance with a bit of sauce and a whole lotta snow thrown in. I must admit, I've been heavily programmed to expect bad guys chasing after people in a snowstorm situation but in this instance, the only thing chasing them is time. I liked how the slowburn component of the romance has already happened and we're instead invited to the realisation of all the MCs yearning set to the scene of an horrific helicopter crash. Mallory and Tevyn are in the fight for their lives, will love show them the way? 4.5/5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I think we all know Amy Lane can write deep angst as well as fluffy romance and she struck an excellent balance between the two with this adventure story. Tevyn the snowboard champion captivated Mallory, his financial advisor, since the day they met when Tevyn was only 19. Not quite a Bear Grylls survival challenge, Tevyn and Mallory mostly MacGyver their way through the crash, days trapped in a blizzard and caring for injured friend and pilot Damien. Tevyn is the most prepared, naturally, from years spent on snowy mountains in a dangerous sport. The survival aspect is probably the most interesting part for me but the romance comes through loud and clear when the POV’s alternate. Internal musings about the previous five years and numerous conversational exchanges bolster the authenticity of the seemingly sudden relationship. There’s kisses but no nookie in the snow! With allowances for necessary fictional license, the entire situation felt authentic. Tevyn did act awfully mature for his age after initially being shown as quite the young playboy. There’s a lot packed into the narrative, especially the last third or so, introducing more secondary and future series characters. It also contains seriously heated scenes in the bedroom once Tevyn and Mal recuperate. I liked it a great deal and I’m looking forward to seeing more of Damien and Preston, as Preston is particularly intriguing. Happy reading!

2025 re-read: I remembered this almost too well, but that allowed me to read it a bit less swiftly this time. Yep, still love it.

2019 review:
A NEW AMY LANE SERIES!!!

The hallmark of Amy Lane's work is the richness of her characters' lives. It's an added bonus that her series are often linked - something you only notice if you've read the others. It's not just a nod to her many fans, either. If you know those other stories, that link adds more layers to the current story.

For me, this novel is a comfort read. Not because it lacks conflict and danger and so on, but because you know they already love each other. It's making that connection that's the hurdle. Admitting, accepting. Surviving. There's zero angst for angst's sake, it is all intense and real. As if that isn't enough, the end is perfection. I would pre-order the next one right now if she had it ready.

I liked it. The helicopter crash and the fighting to survive in the snow was excellent. The love story felt underdeveloped. I was given the 3rd book in the series by my secret elf. I found the first book at the library so I only have to buy the second book.

I walka o przetrwanie.

Well, leave it to Amy to take a crash in a blizzard, with injuries and barely any hope of survival, and turn it into a winner of a love story. And funny at that. The quips with these guys lol. Even injured, tired, hungry and running out of hope, they're sassy, sarcastic and whipping out one liners.
Superstar snowboarder Tevyn has been the object of Mallory's desires for 5 years. But Tevyn is a client. But when Mallory lost his last boyfriend because he could see how much Mallory cared for Tevyn, it was kind of a wake up call for him. The problem is Tevyn feels the same way but Mallory has no clue. All he sees is Tevyn flirting with guys and girls and taking them to bed. But he's still there for Tevyn, doing all he can to take care of him and his grandma, Missy. Which brings him to the bad part of his job and friendship. Missy broke her hip and is severely sick and may not make it much longer. They try to hurry to leave but the weather is too much so they wait til morning. Thinking they can do it with their pilot, Damien, they try to go. But a blast of wind sends them crashing and barely making it out before the copter careens over a cliff. But it's not all happy endings. Damien's leg is badly broke, the blizzard is getting worse, and they have no chance at being rescued right now. For days, they do all they can to survive, but knowing they're running out of time, they have no choice but to try to make a run for it. All while hoping and praying they make it somewhere where they can be rescued.
I guess the good thing to come out of this crash, is Tevyn and Malory finally decided to stop circling each other and let out how they feel. But at what cost? They're terrified they won't make it out, just when they could be starting their lives together. And even more terrified because how hurt Damien is. But the thing with Tevyn and Mallory, they have so much to learn about each other, even though they've known each other for 5 years. They both need to learn to trust and believe in each other. Well, Tevyn needs to believe a bit more. Mallory has always believed in Tevyn, even when his business partner said it was a bad idea. But nothing like some bad situations and life changing incidents to make you see what's been in front of you all along.
It's a damn good book. As only Amy can write. Now I'm ready to see two others get their story. I feel like they really deserve it.

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

This is Amy Lane at her best. The exciting story of an Olympic snowboarder attempting to survive a helicopter crash in a blizzard is also an intense romance. After the crash, Tevyn finds himself stranded with his financial manager Mallory and their injured pilot. As Mallory and Tevyn work together to survive the storm, they are both forced to acknowledge the feelings they’ve had for each other for a very long time.

I always love Amy Lane’s new adult characters best and snowboarder Tevyn is one of my all time favourites. The Olympic medallist is talented - and he knows it. He’s fearless and sexy but he’s also smarter than he seems. Mallory has taken care of Tevyn’s finances since he first started riding competitively as a teenager and Tevyn’s trust and admiration for the older man has slowly become something more. Mallory is older and more conventional. He works with money and he’s happiest when he sees the people and projects he funds doing well. Over time, Tevyn has become more to Mallory than a simple investment but Mallory doubts the beautiful young athlete could ever feel the same about him.

I love that there is very little relationship angst in this story. Tevyn and Mallory work together to survive the harsh winter storm and the forced intimacy of the situation brings them closer and makes them both reevaluate their lives, their futures and the connection that simmers between them. Despite the slightly fantastic situation, this story feels real and the characters are wonderfully complicated and relatable. I love the humour and sense of play between Tevyn and Mallory, even when their situation starts to deteriorate further.

I loved pretty much everything about this book and I can't wait for the next one in the series.

Sugar and spice and all the things nice! Sigh what a nice book. A story of about taking chances when that’s all you have left. This one had me swooning all over the place. It was mushy and gooey and I’m sure if someone said those words to me I would be red.

Love love love both MC’s loved the set up for other books with the side characters. Loved the banter. Gonna need to go on a sweets diet after that one ❤️

This book was full of warm hearts and, despite the deadly serious situation our men found themselves in, it certainly warmed mine! Mal's devotion and Tev's wonderful response to it were very special. Damien was such a trooper it brought tears to my eyes. It may have been a short book, but I know the human connection in it will stick with me for some time.

Thanks to Amy Lane for giving me an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
