The description of this book is poems about femininity, however it is really just about being in love. Obsessive love. While being in love can bring out femininity in ways, they are not the same thing.

I read "Healing Words" first and it was absolute trash - full of the typical "don't worry, be happy" and "time and love will fix your depression" bs vibe. I had better expectations from this book but it wasn't a whole lot better. The love poems were sweet, but immature. Reminded me of a teenage couple in their honeymoon phase.

I really think this writer should not talk about mental health at all. She does a terrible job at it. If this is her way of "fixing" herself, then sure, but there is no reason to publish problematic thoughts and beliefs for the world to read.

One of the quotes from this book was "I promise I will love you so much and so deeply that you will be healed from your depression and anxiety." This just proves that just because someone thinks they're a good writer and wants to write doesn't mean they necessarily should.

2/5 since some of the love poems were at least bearable to read.

I was captivated and utterly fascinated by 'Blooming'. Alexandra's poems had a magical effect on me and made me dream! The poet took me on a beautiful journey through her poems that expressed thoughts and feelings about true love, self-discovery and femininity. I couldn't help but be reminded of the poetry of the famous poet, Rumi. They evoked my emotions through their eloquent expressions, elegance and sensuousness. This is the second book I've read for the poet, and I continue to be enraptured. These are poems that I will continue to reread over and over again.

I really wanted to like this book. There were only a few poems in here that I felt connected to. I think that a poet must see the world differently and communicate it in a captivating way and I just don't get that here at all. This book is filled with similar almost girlish poems, punctuated with overused exclamation marks, and illustrated with bizarre and meaningless clip art images. You can, however, feel that the author has a pure bright spirit which is hard not to admire.

“Poems on love, self discovery and femininity” really I felt this whole book was focused on loving someone else when I expected it would be more about self love with the self discovery aspect. It felt very much like loving someone else is the be all end all. Each to their own and I usually have a deep love for poetry but this was not for me.

This was ok, said some poems were about growth and ect , if you’re not infatuated with someone or ect then this probably isn’t the poetry book for you . I just felt like the poems were mediocre and the books quality , was low . The printing was not the best . I low key regret buying this .

This collection is captivating in the figures of speech that the poet writes. The theme is an awakening (perhaps the self-discovery mentioned in the subtitle) caused by the love of someone else. My only disappointment is that, if this is confessional poetry, the words do not suggest self-agency in the awakening.
Still, if you enjoy love poetry, this is a beautiful collection, and I enjoyed these poems for that reason.

I adore poems about love but these came across as cloying and suffocating. I might have felt more acceptance regarding the theme of love being a savior if the book didn’t tout femininity as a subject. Meh.

Not my favorite short poetry book. Not many of the poems really stuck out to me, but this might be a personal preference. To me it felt like the poems were superficial, like a generic poem about love rather than something detailed and emotional. It felt like the person writing the poems didn’t experience anything about love.

No fence. Don’t keep a guard around your heart forever. I hope to have a love like what was described someday. Focus on your happiness and don’t let the darkness take over.

very generic poems about love, like “the sun and her flowers” but worse.

I thought this book was about loving yourself & self discovery but the entirety of the focus seems to be loving someone else 😂

I didn’t love this poetry book, it was supposed to be a book about femininity and healing and it was just all about love. Wasn’t what I was expecting.

This was a pretty good collection of poetry. Nothing stood out to me as above or beyond amazing. This probably had to do with the fact that almost all of the poems were love poems and I just wasn't feeling it. A lot of metaphor. Some super dense and beyond extended that they were hard to follow. Overall I enjoyed reading it, it was quick. But nothing stood out to me that was exceptionally above and beyond.
