Grace Ressler, the daughter of a wealthy bank manager in Fort Collins, is kidnapped and held hostage less than three months before her wedding day. In the hopes of keeping her father safe, Grace must swallow her pride and obediently follow the commands of a ruthless gang leader. Prospects for her safe return are bleak.
Bounty hunter, Samuel “Cully” McCullough faces his toughest nemesis yet. Cully is hired by her grieving father and frantic betrothed to save this young woman’s life. Along the way he aims to put an end to the string of violent crimes committed by Clay Peterson and his gang.
In the midst of his relentless pursuit, Cully must come to terms with the realization that he may be just as cold-blooded and ruthless as the men he hunts.
Will Cully find a way to save Grace Ressler from this brutal gang and return her safely to her family? Time is running out.
Each book in the Cully the Bounty Hunter series is a standalone story that can be read out of order.

Cull certainly created an endearing sense of love for his many endeavors throughout this outstanding series of western adventures. Too, the author, Mr. Ortiz Slade has the uncanny ability to provide the action any reader's r of western folklore is looking for. If you want shootouts, romance, or even a little bit of suspense, just hang with Cull and you will be satisfied!
Definitely another five star masterpiece by this exceptionally talented author, who certainly turn of an overpowering and heartwarming story. This series, although by what I surmised to be a"new author, " is one of the most refreshing and entertaining selections I have had the opportunity to follow. The character selections are extremely easy to follow, and they certainly create the desired effects in pursuit of their assignments. Too, the author's storylines successfully matched their character assignments with enthusiasm beyond control. Definitely recommend this series of outstanding old American western folklore, as the author assuredly did his research before striking his first key. I enjoyed the final tart story, but this selection definitely is impressive, as the suspense hangs a little tougher this time. I would say these stories are somewhat family-friendly and definitely entertaining episodes from beginning to end. Give this Author a try, as I believe readers loving great western adventures will most certainly be appeased!
How does Cully get in to these situations? Clay Peterson and his gang decide they are going to rob the bank. In order for things to go smoothly, they plan to kidnap the banker's wife and hold her hostage. Things do not go smoothly even from the get go. The wife is not there, so they abduct the daughter, who is just weeks away from being married. The robbery doesn't go well either and they have to high tail it out there there without the money. They do have the daughter, Grace, so their only real option is to hold her for ransom. The father and fiance are determined to go after them and lucky for them, Cully is in just the next town over. You kind of have to know that there is going to be a lot of action while Cully figures out how the get her back. Cully seems to have this false notion that he is better off working alone. Yet he ends up having people to help him. Plus, he couldn't save so many lives if someone along the way wasn't busy saving his. In this book, he meets a woman as tenacious as he is and would make a terrific partner for him, even if just as a friend.
Cully: Ransom Denied gets a 4 star rating from me for being a well written, no-nonsense traditional western tale. I have read four Orris Slade novels to date, an I'm always entertained by them. This third book in the Cully series is one of the best so far, the story is very good, full of suspense and action. Orris Slade is a very talented storyteller, his pacing is perfect and his writing style is easy-to-read and flows smoothly. Firmly in the traditional western mold, the Cully series offers very distinctive white hat good guys and black hat bad guys with no gory violence or sex scene. Still, Orris Slade has achieved something difficult nowadays with the plethora of e-books available, he kept me entertained and more importantly, kept me reading.
OR. has. penned a western novel, which is the 3rd in the Cully, Bounty Hunter, series. A well known outlaw kidnaps a wealthy bankers daughter and she is used during the robbery. Afterwards they keep the girl. Then Fully is hired to retrieve her. Fully heads for the last known location and the chase is on. The is an excellent read for the genre....DEHS
Rescue of a damsel who was kidnapped and held for ransom..
I love western stories about bounty hunters and how they tracked and captured the outlaws. After reading Cully the bounty Hunter just think Cully should find another line of work. He did not appear to know how to capture the outlaws. He attempts to capture them alive while they are attempting to kill him when he could have shot them and avoided injuries to himself and others.
Cully: Ransom Denied: (Fully the Bounty Hunter - Book 3)
Cully was vowed to kill the outlaws that killed and robbed the innocents who moved West for a better life. But when a bank was robbed, and the daughter of the banker abducted, Cully felt like he was the one who would go make sure that she would be returned alive. BRAVO 👏👏 Really great read. BRAVO 👏👏
Interesting book, with a lot of character development
All the characters in the book grow with a lot of development in the personal growth of life. The story line is a small part of the book, most of the book is the development of each character from the good to the bad. Most characters like Grace and Wes don’t have the amount of growth. This book is worth reading.
Cully goes after the most evil outlaw he has ever faced, as he sets out to rescue a kidnapped woman. He will face the most dangerous situation ever. Will he survive the fight?
I have read the whole 3 book series and enjoyed each of them. Slade is a good writer who does not violate credulity. I will read more by this author when he publishes them.
Not as good as the first 2 in the series. Seems the author is falling into letting the main character have an airhead moment right at the worse time just to add to the story.
The Cully series appear to be short novels that fit the typical western style. A kidnapping and ransom is the stage for our hero in this adventure. I do get a bit disappointed in the dragging ending.
