I've been waiting for Simon's book since I first read about him in Rocked. Unfortunately, what I expected from his story and what I got were completely different. The romance between Simon and Margo was pretty much nonexistent and even became overshadowed by the chaos of the band's story. I never felt a connection between them and that saddened me. Their romance lacked substance and intrigue, and what little relationship they did have was little more than a sex infested cat and mouse game. To say I was frustrated and disappointed would be an understatement. In fact, they weren't really a solid couple when the book ended, which frustrated me even more. And don't get me started on the unnecessary cliffhanger!

What I did enjoyed about this book was the band's interactions. It wasn't enough to override my overall disappointment of story but it was enough to help me finish the book. I love the dynamic between the band members and I loved getting more interactions with the previous couples. I'm on the fence about continuing this couple's journey, though. I'm just not sure I'll get what I'm looking for in terms of their romance; however, I am curious about what happens to the band...so I guess we'll see.

I am really into this series. Absolutely adore the band dynamics, the characters and the development of the story

Destroyed is the 3rd novel in the Lost in Oblivion Series and whilst it was a fun read it kind of wasn’t a dazzling one!

But before I go into why Simon, the band’s lead singer and total manwhore and groupie lover, let me just say that the one thing about this book that I LOVED LOVED LOVED!!!!!! The band is going to play one of the most unforgettable songs by one of the most unforgettable bands ever, on stage!!!! OMG!!!!

Let me jump up and down right now!!!! Let me scream and shout in happiness!!!!

And Simon…before I may have been a bit so so about you, but when you said……

I am going to forget my initial thoughts about you….you may just not be that bad at all!!!! This is what made me change my mind about you??? What, you’re calling me fickle??? Okay, I might just be a teenie weenie bit!!! But, hell, anyone mentions Led Zeppelin and I go into ORBIT!!! So, let me close my eyes and listen to you singing Kashmir…..I approve…and ………….


Okay, enough of that…let’s carry on about your story!!!
So, you’re the kind of rockstar we hear about…drink, drugs, girls, mindless sex…but hell, when it comes to music….you know your thing!!!

You’re living the ultimate life of a rockstar, the world is getting to know you and the band – but something is missing in your life…and then…wow….things may just be looking up for you Simon…no, maybe not!!!!

Look, can I just knock some sense into you? Why are you behaving like an ass@#$$%? What’s the matter with you??? Instead of seeing what’s really in front of you…what do you do instead? Behave like an absolute jerk!!! Feel sorry for yourself!!!!

But then Margo Reece, the woman of your dreams and more is not exactly behaving much better. Can I knock some sense into her as well???? Look, as a woman I may understand why she thinks you are a bit of a dick!!!! So far, it’s been not so much exciting sex between the two of your!! I mean, think about it….where’s the flowers, romance, low lights..Oh rockstars don’t do that??? You’re kidding right??? Closets, walls are okay???

Simon, Margo…you two are in serious need of what love and romance is all about!!!!! No, you think you might just get it right with each other??? Allright….I’ll leave you both to it and wait with abated breath!!!

Jeez….Simon…I knew you would come right!! And please Margo, will you clue up!!!!!!! Get with the program girl!!! This guy really feeeels for you!!!!

So, after my “little” chat with Simon and Margo, let me just tell you some of the few things that got to me in this book!!

I just didn’t feel a deep connection between Simon and Margo. I wanted to tear my and their hair out with frustration…the way they handled each other every time they’re together. Why don’t they just own up to their real feelings for each other???

I wanted to know more about Simon’s history….perhaps it would have made me connect with his character more.

I did feel that there was a hell of a lot going on in this story that took a bit of the attention off their relationship….look, I am not complaining…much…I love the inclusion of all the band members and their “family” in each book…but just saying.

And then….we get to the f@##$%^ cliffhanger!!! What the hell!!!

I wasn’t exactly unhappy about this book…but it just kind…of ended…and…..TO BE CONTINUED!!!

Okay, I will be checking out what will continue in the next installment!!!!

I have been looking forward to Simon's book since first meeting him in Seduced. It's no secret that I love me the manwhores, and when you make said manwhore the cocky lead singer of a rock band? Well, I'm putty in your hands is what I am. Speaking of Seduced, I HIGHLY recommend that you read that before this book. It will give you an extra insight into Simon and Margo's relationship (how they met and how it all began). Though the authors give you the backstory here, I feel that it will really help connect you with the couple a lot better (especially the way this story is written, and I'll get to that in a bit). Also, I'll highly recommend reading this series in order. Each character gets their own book, but the story arc continues to roll out throughout the series and you'll definitely enjoy it much more reading it in order.

Simon and Margo are as opposite as they get. Simon is the lead singer of Oblivion and man slut extraordinaire. his vices are alcohol and women and the band's groupies never leave him hurting for what he wants. But the one woman that he only share one scorching stolen moment with is the one that continues to haunt his every thought.

Margo has recently lost her spot in the Symphony orchestra, the classy and buttoned up violinist gets the chance of a lifetime to play on Oblivion's new record. Unfortunately that also brings her back face to face with the one man that tempts her good girl ways to go very very bad.

I hate to admit that I struggled through a few parts of this book. Margo and Simon together had me wanting to rip my hair out with their constant back and forth with each other. They both want each other beyond the sex, but they're each too stubborn to admit to it. Simon's treatment of her is almost callous at times. And Margo's ability to just move right past it and continue the sexual relationship between them without calling Simon on all his bullshit frustrated me even more.

It wasn't a relationship. It was more like frenetic sex in any and all available places.

I'd say that this quote describes 90% of this book perfectly. There really wasn't much in the form of romance between these two. There was rough sex, public sex, dirty sex...but that was essentially all that it was; sex. I wanted that connection. I needed it to truly get invested in this couple. The previous books in this series definitely gave that to me and I loved the angst of it all. But for some reason, I struggled here. I wanted to love them, but there was always something missing for me.

I would have loved more about Simon's backstory. You get a few bits and peaces about his rough childhood, but I was also left wanting. I needed something...more. Same thing with Margo. The primary focus of the book leaned toward their sexual connection and the unfolding story of the band, while the romance was more on the back burner.

Now don't get me wrong, I love this series, but I suppose I wasn't prepared for how this story will unfold. The last 10%, however, managed to accomplish what the rest of the story didn't. It finally gave me that connection with Simon and Margo. But then Cari and Taryn hit me with that cliffhanger! Sweet mother of torture! Why oh why must you make it hurt like that? Even though the previous book in this series was told in 2 parts, I wasn't expecting the same thing here (since book 1 was a standalone). On the one hand I'm frustrated and left wanting more. On the other hand I'm happy because I know that the second part of their story will bring me everything that was missing here. The set up is definitely delicious enough. I was really hoping to be getting Nick's book next, but I'm not complaining at all about getting more of Simon.

If you're a fan of this series, this is different than the previous 2 books (at least it was for me). Deacon and Harper's story was a bit simpler, so I can see how they fit into one book. Gray and Simon are definitely more complex characters and I can understand why the authors want to tell their stories in 2 parts. I just wish that Simon and Margo had a little more of an emotional connection here. But I'm definitely looking forward to see what the next book brings for them.

Destroyed started out as a reading task to be reviewed for me and ended up something I actually loved and fascinated about. There are too many factors that amazes me that I’ve realized only half way into the story, but it’s been there all along.

“Simon Kagan, golf cart thief, tops off his night with a little stolen sex.”

Simon Kagan is the lead singer of the band Oblivion. I can describe him as a manwhore, cocky, arrogant, but within lies a broken man and who sought out affection and attention. He feels and act like a front man should be and yet deep inside hides vulnerabilities that he is afraid to show. He’s been called Pretty Boy by his band mates and he stands by it. Although, one thing from his personality that didn’t endear to me, was of every singer or artist’s character, prideful. They know and feel something’s wrong and yet they’re too prideful to admit it, and ask for help. Jealousy is also a petty thing.

“I’ve always been yours, Violin Girl. I’ve just been hoping you would take me.”

Margo Reece is a frigid girl and acts like there’s a stick up her ass. With all the elegance and beauty that she possess lies within a wild sexual creature that she was afraid to show because of what was ingrained to her while she was growing up. She’s into classical and yes, like any other, she have that personality of having an air about her and yet when she took the chance with Oblivion, she embodied the woman that she is.

I had a hard time getting on the connection with the characters at the beginning, and I had hard time following at first. They’ve been mentioning that time about a year ago at the booth, that sexual encounter that had their intense feel for each other, which I didn’t understand at first. Because yeah, it would have been nice if there’s something about that time, to read the first meeting, the first spark of interest and lust, the forging of something indescribable and yet, somehow turned into a feeling of longing, heartaches and disappointments.

But as I get along into my way through the story, I am utterly impressed and amazed. As I’ve said, I was half way into the story before I recognized that myself. The band had some collaboration with Margo, rock music meshing up classical, and then that Korean drama I’ve loved popped into my head. They had that concert where they meshed the classical with the rock band, and they created something amazing that made you breathless and speechless. At that point, I’ve heard the song in my head, of that audition piece in Asia's Got Talent, a classical music or more like traditional one using the traditional instruments meshing up with rock music and creating something beautiful. And somehow, the story has created that for me, making me listen to a music in my head that is beautiful and yet something that only few tries because it’s not always a success and yet this novel in some way created it and made it believable. Owned it. And I am wowed and just focused on the story. It’s like a movie or something, a world maybe, where I am in the front seat, like being a member or the crew, the roadie maybe or part of the band. The manager, perhaps.

I felt being part of something exciting and this book has brought it to me. Amazing, I say. It makes me excited of their interviews, the chart ratings, the rehearsals and preparations for the tour. It covered all aspect of being in a band rising to fame, everything, the good and the bad. Especially the good.



Although I had a problem with the characters at the start, I’ve felt the connection between them. The chemistry, the lust, that indescribable need for each other. And there’s also like something with all the sex they had against the wall, in the hallway, somewhere in the dark that the one time in the bedroom was a turning point in their relationship. But my most loved was actually during performances at the stage. Sexual tension was palpable, plus the head rush after the performance and the high and lust that you only get when you perform. Believe me, I know how that feels when you get into a performance and experience all of that and I felt it, the story conveyed it to me.

I love the character development in the story. There’s growth and it’s actually so little that if you happen to don’t look for it, you might miss it. Of course, I don’t. It’s what I look for in the characters. The biggest was the sexual awakening of Margo. Owning her sexuality and being confident in her skin. She didn’t have to say it, it was how Simon sees her.

I think it’s safe to say that the major turning point in the main character’s relationship is also a turning point of the band. It was something I expected but the events, not really. I’m just excited to read the next book and see where everything goes.

This book is part in Lost in Oblivion series. Book 1 of Simon and Margo’s story. Although I recommend reading the book in order to better enjoy the reading experience and get to know how the band came up and get to know the other characters which were as lovable as these, two, you can also read this book without reading the first one, like me.

I approached reading this book with a bit of apprehension as Simon Kagan is the manwhore of Oblivion, the rock band at the center of the series. How in the world do you transform someone like him, who makes no excuses for and loves his lifestyle, to someone even remotely interested in a committed relationship? With care and authenticity and that's in abundance here.

Simon loves his fans, loves women and loves having sex with them. Until his random sexual encounter with Violin Girl, Margo Reece, none of his past exploits left any memorable impressions. Something about her cool, conservative nature was alluring and maybe because she didn't want anything from him but sex made a big difference. Margo's not a fangirl and isn't interested in getting anything from him. Whatever the attraction, she tangled him up.

I loved how this story unfolded without any major episodes, just moments in time that revealed more about Simon and Margo, drawing them closer without explanation or clarification. I actually "felt" their story and what was happening to them through their music and off-the-charts sex. What was more surprising was Margo's self discovery and how Simon was a sort of a voyeur to her transformation. Her musical gifts blossomed on stage, touching him deeply and in ways unfamiliar to him.

This is a WONDERFUL story about a character I never found appealing until now. Simon's still a simple guy but underneath all that rock persona is a sensitive man who gets more than he's given credit for. He's sweet natured and incredibly gifted. Margo, in her own way, is perfect for him though that's tougher to see. It's extraordinary.

Be forewarned that the book ends with a cliffhanger and fortunately I'm able to jump right into the next book.

Destroyed is exactly how I feel after finishing the latest installment in Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott’s Lost in Oblivion series. This has been an ongoing series and while each book as left us with pretty much a HFN ending, I didn’t get that feeling from this book and it wrecked me. As the band is reaching new heights in their careers, changes are happening all around them; new tour, new stage, new busses, a guest artist who has a history with their lead singer, said lead singer having an issue with his voice and a former band member making trouble. Not unlike anything you might expect from an up and coming band that basically has crawled out of oblivion and into the limelight but I’ll be flat out honest this book has me way more nervous than any previous books and I’m not liking that feeling too much right now.

As one of the original band members Simon Kagan has been through a lot in his life and while he’s enjoying the spoils of everything his new found fame has gotten him he’s also trying to forget the one woman he can’t seem to have. On top of that he’s noticed that his voice isn’t holding up quite like it use to and he’s not sure how to handle it or what to do other than self medicate with the vodka he loves so much and loosing himself in women. Discovering that their label and their manager Lila have decided to bring in a guest artist to sit in for some pre-tour warm up shows really throws him and she is the last person he needs around, the one he wants with abandon, and the one that’s made it perfectly clear he doesn’t fit into her nice, neat world.

Being let go from her position with the Boston Philharmonic should have been more of a crippling blow but if Margo Reece was being honest she is ready for a change; she just hopes she can get enough work to make up for her loss of salary. Being asked to do a few pre tour shows with Oblivion will help and will raise her exposure and hopefully lead to some more studio work but for now she has to concentrate on getting through these shows and seeing Simon again; the one man who is never far from her mind.

This is the first book in this series where while there was no denying the intensity of the heat between these two and the absolute sexual abandon they found in each other, I really didn’t see a relationship forming between them. Sure there was some general concern for each other and at times they had each other’s backs for various reasons but so much of their time together was strictly physical and they didn’t spend a whole hell of a lot of time getting to know one another on a non sexual level. There’s no doubt they harbor some feelings but I really would have liked to see a few more heart to heart talks between them like we’ve seen with the couples in the other books. Individually I loved both Simon and Margo. Simon is just crazy fun, a complete showman yet there is also a serious side to him that most don’t see; the one that remembers the pain from the past and tries to drown it with alcohol and women. The metamorphosis of Margo was brilliantly written and I loved watching her layers be peeled back and her finding her true self under everything that had been forced upon her for so many years. I loved her sassiness, her professionalism and her talent and most of all I love the way she stood up for herself and the music when she needed to.

This was a very intense and busy book with the group promoting their new work, gearing up for a tour and the start of the tour and the romance between Margo and Simon kind of got lost in all of that, however it is still an amazing story. From beginning to end Destroyed had me on the edge of my seat; I felt every note they played, sang every lyric right along with them and I wept at the possibility of what might come next and despite being unsettled by this turn of events I will be the first one jumping up and down and cheering when Consumed is released because I am that much of a fan of this series and these authors.

" Destroyed" , is the third book in the Lost in Oblivion series, and it focuses on the incomparable Simon" super slut" Kagan, a well earned moniker since Simon only has a few loves, singing and performing, his vodka and women, when it comes to him he loves just about everything about them. However he never really has had a desire for more than a one time thing or the occasional weekend; at least up until he met Margo, the very classy, very stuffy violinist who joined them on their huge hit " The Becoming" .
Margo spent one incredible night with Simon, but when he wanted more she walked away, and as a result months later Simon is still thinking about her.
So when " Dragon Lady " Lila, the bands manager flys Margo back in to work with them on their promotional tour for their new Album , Simon is left trying to figure out how to avoid her because it seems that his head gets that she is off limits other parts of his body do not.

From the interaction between these two it is more than obvious that the sparks are flying and both are ignoring them, or trying to at least . Simon is determined however to get Margo" violin girl" into his bed, so he tempts and teases and raises her blood pressure at every opportunity!
When Margo finally caved to his charms , it son hot and heavy anywhere and everywhere , the downside is it is quick and dirty but once the deed is done they part ways . Super slut Simon wants more . Margo however has her own insecurities and concerns when it comes to Simon.
The majority of this book is a cat and mouse chase game between the two and the fact that neither one will bother putting the truth on the line does become a little frustrating as a reader.

Both characters undergo a bit of an evolution , Margo loosens up a bit , simple things that are large for her, changing her clothing from very buttoned up from covered up to short skirts, corset tops and stilettos and more and more responsive to Simon and begins feeling more of a part of the band and blending her style well with them. Simon goes from chasing anything and everything in skirt to just chasing and wanting Margo, the way they play off each other even when performing , the fans eat it up and the rest of the band has more than picked up on the chemical reaction.

Be prepared for a cliff hanger ending and not a good one for this incredible naturally talented singer, Simon Kagan, his nightmare begins and Margo steps up!

A must read for "Oblivion" fans" !

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME HANGING LIKE THAT!!!

Besides the pretty big cliffhanger (I mean, we know Simon will survive, but then what?), this was a good story. We were introduced to Margo in the extremely long prequel. Margo is a classically-trained violinist who is brought in on their big hit to bring something different to it. Simon is intrigued, but she's so stuffy and buttoned up, he kinda takes it that she's a snob and would never have anything to do with the likes of him. They have a very intense "moment", but then she leaves, and Simon goes with anyone who does *not* remind him of Violin Girl.

Fast forward to current, where Oblivion is extremely popular and successful. Lila has brought Margo in for their album launch party, and Margo seems to fit in seamlessly with the band. But when things get good (sexy) between her and Simon again, she bolts. And then she's back, because Lila can see how well Margo's unique sound complements Oblivion's music, both on the songs she actually recorded with them and others, plus Margo could use the steady income, since she lost her Philharmonic seat. So Margo goes on tour with Oblivion, and things really heat up between her and Simon.

But beyond the whole Margo/Simon thing, Simon has a problem that he's trying very hard not to let anyone discover, until it's too big to ignore. And then "it" happens and things totally go to shit. And it ENDS! I have to wait until AUGUST to find out what's up!! Argh!!! (But I'll totally be there with bells on, ready to finish Simon's story.) Plus, there was the bomb drop about Snake. It'll be interesting to see where this goes.

Blasphemous! I broke my own rule: reading a book out of order in a series. Why? Because I was given an ARC by the authors. I was eager to delve into the Lost of Oblivion world, to get a taste of all the buzz and I must say, I'm glad I did. Now, I can hardly wait to read the rest of the series.

As a music lover, "Destroyed" was the ultimate treat. It tugged at my heart strings and moved every part of me on many levels. It provoked a roller coaster of emotions. In a sense, it left me wanting more but oh so satisfying at the same time.

Simon has earned his nickname "Super Slut" for obvious reasons and he owns it shamelessly. He also owns the stage when he is performing as the front man of Oblivion. Margo, the ever quiet violinist whose upbringing would not allow her to stray from her good manners had a taste of the sexy rock star, and now she is longing for more. Their chemistry is combustible as much on and off stage, but yet the both of them are fighting it with all their might. Their constant banters are hilarious, too.

To witness the camaraderie between the band members is a unique experience. Although each character has its own personality, they fit so well together, as a whole. Music, their shared passion is what drives them to work hard and it is simply gratifying to see them reap what they sow. These characters are so endearing, you cannot help but root for them, wishing them well. They make you want to be part of their circle.

Ms. Elliott and Ms. Quinn, you have ruined me for other authors. Your writing is so raw and thus, so damn good, one can only be in awe. I will make it my goal to go through your entire work.

REVIEW: 3.75 stars --DESTROYED is the third full length installment in Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott’s contemporary, new adult LOST IN OBLIVION erotic romance rock series focusing on the members of the rock band Oblivion. This is lead singer and front man Simon Kagan, and classical violinist Margo Reece’s storyline-a second chance for two people who never forgot the one that got away.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Simon and Margo) DESTROYED follows the rebuilding of a relationship; a friendship between Simon and Margo that was all but destroyed following a one night stand wherein Margo walked away without a backwards glance. What ensues is sexually tense and continuously toxic confrontations between our leading couple. From name calling to disgust, Margo and Simon have issues whenever either one is in the same room with the other. Margo is about to head out on tour, to accompany the band on stage, and in this neither Simon or Nick are thrilled with the prospect: Nick doesn’t like change and Simon’s attraction to Margo finds our leading singer in a precarious predicament.

The relationship between Margo and Simon is fraught with bitter memories of their one night together. Margo wanted Simon but walked away knowing that Simon would never settle for one woman, and Simon found himself wondering where it all went wrong. Fast forward several months and Simon has tried to forget Margo and her curvaceous body. Our hero’s reputation as a manwhore is not without some disappointing moments. Sex and alcohol are Simon’s vises-he is a sexual beast both on and off the stage. Coming face to face with his past finds Simon’s aggression towards Margo amplified by the return of a former bandmate. The $ex scenes are graphic, intense, dramatic, sometimes combative, and bold. The sexual tension is palpable but their tug –o-war, and cat and mouse games of ‘want you/want you not was frustrating. The back and forth was continuous; I felt the romance was missing-it was all about the $ex and in this the love connection was almost non existent. At this point I never thought I would see Simon Kagan settle down.

LOST IN OBLIVION is an ensemble series. All of the previous storylines characters and members of the band play a secondary and supporting role throughout the novel. Jazz and Harper’s pregnancies have advanced wherein Gray and Deacon have just about lost their minds as it pertains to the impending births of their first born children. The band’s popularity has made OBLIVION a star on the rock and roll circuit; and Snake comes back looking for his piece of the pie.

DESTROYED does not end with a happily ever after but a cliffhanger that will focus on Simon’s future and the band’s past. Lost in Oblivion is gritty, graphic and not without some controversial moments but it is a series about rock and roll, and the lifestyle that is conducive to controversy and trouble-sex, drugs, alcohol, infighting with the band, and of course, their public image and private lives. I am a fan of Quinn and Elliott’s LOST IN OBLIVION series, but not a fan of the drawn out, back and forth between a couple whose need for one another is dangerous and dark. I want some romance in my romance storylines but the gritty reality of fame pushes love and romance down the list of priorities and wants.

I admit that I didn't want Simon's book next. I'm impatiently waiting to see Nick and Lila realize they have a serious love for each other. But that's not how these authors played it, so here I am listening to Simon Kagan.

And I'm not sad at all. Honestly. I don't know why I didn't want his book. He's the man-slut of the group. The sex is bound to be hot and heavy and dirrrrrty.

And it is.

Simon and Margot are complete opposites. But you know what they say about opposites. They definitely attract in this book.

And you want to see how quickly they come together. And how slowly. And you want to see all the moves Simon has at his disposal. For real. I don't even know why they cut this book into 9 hours (I listened to it) because I could have kept going (which I did with Consumed ).

Destroyed is the fifth book in the Lost in Oblivion series by the writing team of Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliot. As such it really can't be read as a stand alone despite the fact that each two books are usually devoted for two main romantic leads. As I've stated in my previous reviews of this series, these books although considered as romance is more than the romance between a couple. Its actually the romantic adventure about a rock band, there mainly unobtrusive start to their meteoric rise and their journey thats rife with personal obstacles and a rock bands growing pains. Each centers around the H/h' s romantic adventures, their falling in love and finding happiness and a band whose getting to find their rhythm and their soul to ultimately become a legend.

In Destroyed, we finally get to our lead singer's own story and his own tumultuous start with his own Violin Girl. Simon Kagan is the voice of Oblivion, its face and maybe its own brand. His playful albeit almost slutty ways (Jaz's words) and his hypnotic and sultry voice are as unique as can be. Oblivion is on the rise and their band is becoming more than just a front act, they're coming into the big leagues. But Simon's own achilles heel is back for more of that IT factor in their latest album and he doesn't know how to deal with it. Margo Reece had one episode of letting it all out and she had it with the most wanted man in music, Simon Kagan. Now she's back in his world while her own career aspirations seems to be dying. How can she stay in the fringes when all she wants since that night was to be in his arms again.

Destroyed seems an apt and fitting title for this book. Simon and Margo's journey seems to be centering around destruction of their perceptions and what can happen when what they deemed to be who they are is taken away. A lot of readers will probably feel they've been shortchanged because of the cliffhanger ending but as a reader whose followed this series since the start, I find that Destroyed is a great story, adding depth to characters and a storyline which would have otherwise remained flat and two dimensional if the writers just concentrated on giving out pat happy endings and no conflict in Oblivion's journey. Simon is the main star here but Margo gives a multilayered depth to both her and Simon's characters. And the cliffhanger ending isn't so much for the romance part as it is for what the future holds for the band from that point. I still think its a great ending and the next instalment which is Consumed concentrates more on the couple's romantic development (looking forward to that) but overall Destroyed is fantastic.

Destroyed. What can I say about this book? That it's the latest addition to an already incredible series? That the sexual tension between Simon and Margo should be bottled and that it'd sell a million? That this book plays with your emotions? Or that Taryn Elliott and Cari Quinn are one hell of a team when they're already fabulous authors in their own right? I can say all of those things and more.

This continuation of the Lost in Oblivion series reminds me how much I love these books, characters and story. Not all is sunshine and roses for the boys and girl, though on the cusp and beginning of their first headlining tour and with two of their little 'family' pregnant. Plus Simon is fighting a very personal battle that isn't easy to deal with when you're the lead singer of one of the biggest up and coming bands out there. Not going to spoil it for anyone, just will say you really should buy it!

If you have been following this series all I can say is….hold on, because Simon and Margo are just so amazing. We get another glimpse into what makes the group and the pairings so dynamic. A whole new world of feelings and emotions are there for both Margo and Simon, and they are both so unsure where it is going to take them. You also see how the group reacts to the fact that Margo you will touring with them…not as part of the band per se, but as an independent musician brought in to enhance them. Not everyone is happy about the move, but will it work out in the long run or will it just create more tension? There is also a blast from the past…but it to creates problems for the main characters. Will the group be able to overcome the tensions and problems that are now raining down on them ??? Or will they ultimately create more problems ???

Once upon a time there were three friends who turned to music to escape life's darkest moments and it’s finally paying off. In this book meet up with the band as they are about to embark on their first headlining tour. While all the main characters are here this book focuses on our lead singer and resident Super Slut, Simon Kagan, and the only woman who has ever gotten under his skin. This book is so well written that Simon and Margo’s sexual game of cat and mouse will make you squirm. Trust me I know. ;) And when they finally give into it there is no surface left unscathed. If you haven’t done so already, I recommend that you start from the first book Seduced and go from there.

Angst: If I had to describe this book in one word, that would be it. Simon is one of my most favorite characters in the band, Oblivion. He was the one that immediately took to living the rock star life. Enjoying the groupies and partying at every turn... Simon was the fun one. He didn't take life too seriously. From the the previous books in the series, we learn that Simon had a hard life growing up. He didn't have much in the way of belongings, or love. His band mates and their music was EVERYTHING to him.

But when he met Margo in Rocked; while recording their first album, that one encounter stuck with him every day since. He couldn't get her off his mind and didn't understand why. She wasn't a groupie. She wasn't anything like the girls that were occupying his time. Margo was the VERY reserved violinist from the orchestra that was brought in to play on their biggest hit. So why was her conservative attire and prim/proper nature something that got under his skin. If you haven't read about their initial encounter... get Rocked now, it's seriously hot!

Though he tried with all his groupies (over and over and over), he just couldn't get Violin girl out of his head. So when she's asked to join the band to help perform with the band on tour, their heat level shoots up a few notches.

Simon and Margo were complete opposites, on the outside, but that was the initial draw and that's what kept them going back for more. I have to say, these two together is smokin' hot. They went at it like rabbits whenever and wherever they could.

This is seriously one super hot connection and this band and their members just keep getting better and better.

I went into Destroyed not really sure if I was going to like Simon's story. Simon is really into the groupies, tried to give his band members the shaft and generally was just too egotistical. Boy was I wrong. Simon hides a painful past as an abused child. Music is everything to him and his voice has gotten him and Oblivion to new heights. Then one night he has a connection both through music and mouth to body action with a beautiful violinist that is helping with their new album. She's not his typical type with her buttoned up blouses and upper class accent, he can't figure out why her leaving him has left him wanting more.

Playing in an orchestra is what is expected of Margo Reece. Coming from an influential family, she is expect to be the buttoned up, non-curvy, staid violinist her family wants and demands. Little by little she finds herself wanting more, something with more passion. Then one night playing music with Simon and the resulting night leaves her questioning exactly what she wants.

Margo is invited to tour with the group for a bit and Simon isn't letting her go. It isn't a forever thing for either of them, but they can't seem to get enough. Simon is also not seeing a doctor for the tickle in his throat. He's hitting all the right notes, but things aren't as sweet and wonderful. He's short and grumpy with her at times. She's caring, but also aloof, trying to keep her distance.

Just because Margo is buttoned up in the beginning doesn't mean she doesn't know how to let loose. The music moves her so much and she wants a part of that. Nick (guitarist) isn't so keen on her joining and wants to keep her as one time thing to the group. The others kind of welcome her and see how her violin with her funky outfits start to add depth to their songs.

The passion rolls deep between these two as they grab moments when they can to the point of adding the suspense of getting caught. With each new day, they get closer and closer to being a couple. They are exclusive, but there is an expire by date on their relationship that adds to their desperate need to get as much of each other as they can.

That one was trouble. Too bad his dick wasn’t listening. It wanted that pussy. That woman. And the appendage was about as stupid as its owner.

In the end, this one does have a cliffhanger. One that will have you grabbing up Consumed just to find out what happens. It is something that will reverberate through the rest of the entire series. Oblivion may never be the same and this couple may never come together for a forever love. That is all the question and I have the answers, but I am not telling.

I found myself loving Simon and giving him slack on some of his "features." He hurt Margo, he loved Margo and he definitely banged Margo. He sang for Margo. And he just plain was a basic guy with a bad past trying to live the dream. I loved him.

Margo too a little more to get used too. Her family helped shape her view of love and relationships. Make no excuse, she isn't looking for a forever love with Simon, just a fun time to release her passion. She doesn't believe in forever love. Her love is her violin and the need to be part of something more than just an orchestra. Slowly she finds herself drawn to the man who brings out all the good things in her and lets her be herself.

Gosh, darn it. I loved these two even if they fustrated me so much. You need to read the series. No, not totally, but there is some past events that shapes who the band members are and how Oblivion is their life. Going forward, it matters more than ever you read the series in order.

4 Mixed Feelings Stars

I really wanted to use the love/hate concept for my title but hate was definitely much too strong a word. Perhaps I should start my review by saying you really need to read all of these books in order and I highly discourage someone from just jumping in to this book. Now for those who have read the books, I'm sure you were just as excited to get Simon's book as I was. Let me just say that I am totally bummed that this wasn't the love story I was looking for. I knew to expect the naughty/dirty side of Simon but I just didn't get Margo/Violin Girl in this story.

Simon and Margo have "interacted" before in the prior book and lets just say that neither have gotten the experience or each other out of their head. To me it is obvious that Simon has feelings for Margo but his actions during this story really proved otherwise to me. I get that he is likely messed up from his past, which unfortunately we don't get enough of to really understand Simon, but I don't understand why he does somethings. The whole interaction with Melissa bugs me still and the fact that she wasn't nameless to him afterwards just didn't sit right with me. Worse is Margo. I know she is not living the life she had been groomed for, but I just don't get what her whole reservation is in pursuing something with Simon and why is she just in it for sex?

For me, there just wasn't enough, other than sex, for me to get behind Simon and Margo as a couple and I hope the second book will take care of all my frustrations in this aspect. This is the reason for a one point deduction. I couldn't in good faith go lower than that because I love the other relationship in this story. You see, all along for me I have enjoyed the mastery of the writing in this story since we also get the love story of this band. It in and of itself seems like a living entity filled with love, trust, jealousy, problematic exes, the list can go on. For me, this saved the book. I love how we always get the inner workings of the band and its members. This gives us the extra mentions of the couples I have already come to love and it gives us the drama and angst, but in a totally different way. I love this part of the story. Unfortunately it is what also gives us the huge cliffy ending but also provides that hope for some substance developing between Simon and Margo. So grateful I get to move right on to the next book and don't have to wait or it would have destroyed me.

Things have definitely changed since Margo and Simon last saw one another: she is no longer part of the Boston Symphony and he is reaping the rewards of being part of Oblivion, whereas Margo was an accomplished violinist and Simon and the rest of the guys were yet to hit mainstream success when they first met in the recording studio. The attraction to one another is still there but Simon is very wary of Margo and her motivation for wanting to be around him. So his treatment of her was quite understandable, though he may come off as a douchebag, if you have knowledge of what happened before.

I've enjoyed the series ever since I first came across the box set that included Seduced, Rocked, and Rock, Rattle, & Roll, but I must admit that this sixth installment is my favorite so far. There's a different kind of tension between Simon and Margo, one that's based on their previous encounter with each other, and I like how we saw more of Simon the man as opposed to Simon the performer. It was clear that he was a sensitive guy who tried to keep his feelings in check but when he gave his heart to Margo, he was all in. The ball really was in Margo's court, since she had to decide if it was time for her to take a risk or to play safe.

The book does end in a cliffhanger and continues in the novella Consumed, which I already thankfully had waiting for me on my tablet so there were no moments of frustration on my end. Both books are available in e-retailers so you'll be able to find out what happens after you finish reading Destroyed. I do recommend that you read the series in order so that you can get fully enjoy what Lost in Oblivion has to offer. Each new addition is automatically added to my to-be-read list, which simply reiterates that I am, indeed, a fangirl and proud of it. Destroyed has drama, humor, sex, and rock and roll and gets five stars. ♥

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This a fantastic series, if you haven't read any others you would enjoy it so much more by reading from the beginning. The first one is currently free and will rock your world. Oblivion has hit the big time as their records and albums are climbing the charts and they are getting to head out on their first headlining tour. This story focuses on lead singer Simon Kagan aka "Super Slut" and the only woman that he can't get enough of Margo Reece aka "Violin Girl".
Margo is a reserved good girl who plays violin with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and hides her curves in black clothing at her mothers urging. She has always tried to follow the straight and narrow and her parents wishes. But ever since her first sexual encounter with Simon she has wanted more of him although her parents would so disapprove. So when she is invited to play on some of their songs to add another layer for their new album as well as a pre tour party she jumps at the chance to see Simon again and interact with the band. Simon and Margo's chemistry is sizzling hot once more and when she leaves both of them are again lost in the other.
About 4 weeks into the tour, Simon runs into Margo in Boston when he sneaks out in disguise to go to a bar and there she is playing. As he watches her he is recognized and asked to come up on stage to sing and as he interacts with Margo on stage others in the audience tapes it and soon it is everywhere.
Lila hears about it after it is posted and offers Margo a spot playing with the band on tour. This would be a great way for her to do something she loved while maybe getting her fill of Simon so she could move on. But will Margo and Simon get their fill and be able to move on? What secrets are they keeping from each other? Loved their sizzling hot chemistry. Loved all the characters and how they are changing as their story unfolds. I couldn't put this down. Eagerly awaiting for the next story to get more from these talented ladies Taryn Elliott and Cari Quinn

I love these characters. I really liked Simons story, right up to the end. The story just stopped. I really am not a fan of cliffhangers. But this was more than just a cliffhanger. It felt like only half of a book. There were so many questions left unanswered.
It was nice to see Simon finally starting to grow up. Part of the reason he's forced to reevaluate his life isn't so great, but it forces him to open his eyes. He's realized he wants what Deacon and Gray have. (Minus the the babies, of course). A beautiful woman who is there for him, someone to fall asleep with, but more importantly to wake up with. Someone to show him some tenderness and kindness.
Margo has lost her prestigious job with the philharmonic, something she should be upset about. But she finds herself wanting to take a walk on the wild side, and play around with some rising rockstars. And she gets that chance when she's invited to tour with Oblivion. Great for her dwindling bank account and career. Not so great for her heart. She'll be force to spend a lot of time with the one man she's convinced herself she should walk away from. The same man she can't stop thinking about.
I liked the back and forth Simon and Margo have going. Both wanting more, but always denying their feelings. Until they don't. And finally come to terms with their feelings, at least Simon does.
But the story just stopped. No conclusion, way too many unanswered questions. So different from the first two books.

Margo has always been the "good" daughter. She's a reserved, curvy young woman, who hides inside the black clothing her mother tells her to wear. She has a job, her parents approve, playing violin with the Boston Symphony. She doesn't realize she's unhappy until she had a one time uninhibited romp with Simon a while back. Since then she's been unsettled. The secret she's told no one about has unsettled her, too. But, they'd all find out soon enough.
Simon sings lead for the up and coming rock band, Oblivion; it's made up of friends, old and new. They understand each other and form a family, complete with two married couples. The time with Margo affected Simon deeply. He tried not to think of her, but one night stands didn't help - they weren't Margo. Now, Margo would be sitting in, playing with his band awhile! He's got another problem no one knows of. He'd deal with it himself. He's dealt with things on his own for a long time.
Margo and Simon share a steamy physical attraction. There's no courtship or pretty words. They do share a love of music. But, is that all? This is well written and witty. The plot and characters, hope and pain, pull you in. They are people with hopes and dreams. I recommend this book, it's a good story. Gave four stars due to cliffhanger ending.

Holy crap!!

The "ending" was amazingly intense!! I'm definitely pre-ordering CONSUMED! I've always liked Simon, even if I was a bit upset with him because of the contract thing. Well after reading DESTROYED, I adore him and the rest of Oblivion. Btw, I want to know more about Nick :-)

I really love this series. All the characters are fun to read, and I love how they are all prominent in each of the books. I enjoyed seeing Simon and Margo fall for each other. I can't believe I have to wait until August to see what happens next though (ended on a cliffhanger)!!!
